Friday Mastery and Jokers: Recoil, America

I’m still in awe of yesterdays revelations and antics in DC. The sputtering and dying of this foul Department of Justice pomises to be a slow, grinding experience. May many more Coates-style revelations follow.

Kudos to Jesse Kelly for winning the Ten Buck Fridays poll. Recovering the country from the Progressives entails pouring resources into candidates, and it’s great to see people work at both their local level and across district lines. Read more

Black Panther Blowback: Kirsanow ‘This Is Just The Beginning. . .Of The Investigation’

The Democrats attempted a controlled burn using Steven Colbert, yet were slightly scorched around 2:35 in the clip, when he alluded to the election.
I think that Steven Colbert is funny, but you just can’t make nuclear power jokes at Three Mile Island. No amount of timing and material can overcome an inappropriate location. You don’t even get a “good try”, Steven. All you do is underscore the pathetic, anti-American nature of the 2008 Leftist takeover.
PJTV, via Insty, has some must-see video of Peter Kirsanow of the US Commission on Civil Rights after today’s Coates testimony, which was a fuel air explosive atop the Colbert testimony. Commissioner Peter Kirsanow at 1:08, is

I think that this is just the beginning, actually, of the investigation. We have a Catch-22, because the Department of Justice enforces our subpoenas. We are investigating the Department of Justice. They have been stonewalling us for a year and a half, and so the amount of information that we have been able to get–it’s been propitious that we have gotten some amount of information, but it’s been extremely difficult to get it. Congress, on the other hand, may have other avenues to get the information to explore this further.

Hans von Spakovsky comes on at 5:55 and brings more napalm to the show. The fact that eight states have questionable voter rolls, and the DoJ appears careless on the point, is completely, utterly devastating.
J. Christian Adams comes on at 17:52, and doesn’t pat himself on the back, and then the discussion turns to the Civil Rights Division’s ideologically-driven hostility to equal enforcement under the law.
Bill O’Reilly, via Susannah, concisely reviews the case and goes directly after Attorney General Eric Holder:
Andrew Breitbart, has one of those befuddled Columbo moments regarding the Malik Shabazz, a New Black Panther Party fellow leader who quite interestingly shows up on the White House guest list. Having a commonplace surname like Smith, I can readily relate to the confusion over names like Shabazz, which seem to crop up everywhere in the news these days.
Cutting right to the chase:

  • Does the GOP go to the mat on this scandal?
  • Is this the Obama Watergate?
  • How soon does Eric Holder resign?

In politics, self-deprecating humor wins. Take the joke and turn it around. Show them that you have a sense of humor about yourself. People made fun of Ronald Reagan as a “B-movie” actor, so he’d crack jokes about that. When they said he was too old to be president, he made jokes about his age.

Christine O’Donnell could make some of this stuff work for her. For instance: “Chris Coons raised taxes three times in four years. I think he should have abstained from raising taxes. I’m a firm believer in abstinence, you know . . .”

Or: “I tried wiggling my nose, but I couldn’t change Bill Maher into a Republican.”

Or brushing off reporters after an event: “I’d love to stay and answer your questions, but I’m in a hurry to get to my next meeting. Where’s my broomstick when I really need it?”

Speaking of humor, Allahpundit sends word that Bob Dole just endorsed Christine O’Donnell.

To which my friend Jim Lakely replied: “That’s the Viagra talking.”

Ba-da-BOOM!

The Department of Homeland Security warned America about these crazy right-wingers who were a threat to civil rights . . . Oh, wait.

SATURDAY: Help Celebrate National ‘Denounce Lisa Murkowski Day’

Posted on | September 24, 2010 | 34 Comments

Let’s face it: Lisa the Loser’s pathetic write-in campaign is such a disgusting RINO backstabber move that even Charlie Crist would be ashamed to try anything so transparently desperate.

To call Murkowski foul scum would be an insult to scum.

The editors of National Review have taken Senate Republicans to task for failing to strip Murkowski of her position on the Energy Committee. Were there any justice in the world, she’d get it a lot worse than that.

Where is the Spencer Ackerman of the Right, who will urge us to smash Murkowski’s name through a plate-glass window, take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let Senate Republicans know that they need to live in a state of constant fear?

Go give money to Joe Miller to help him stomp Murkowski into RINO smithereens, and then tell the world what an awful monster she is.

Research Proves Christine O’Donnell Is Correct Again (With a Cherry on Top!)

Posted on | September 24, 2010 | 30 Comments

An Australian researcher crunches the numbers and determines that the number of premarital sexual partners is directly correlated with the incidence of divorce. Which is to say, the more you screw around before marriage, the greater likelihood your marriage will end in divorce. And in terms of marital stability, the ideal number of pre-marital partners is . . . uh, zero.

Wintery Knight has lots more research with charts and stuff. And Steven Crowder makes a startling admission:

Yes, I admit it, I’m in a long-term relationship and I’m abstinent.

Wow. If you’ve ever seen Steven Crowder’s girlfriend, she’s smokin’ hot. I’m talking crawl-through-broken-glass-just-to-get-downwind-of-her hot.

So if Crowder can resist gettin’ busy with that kind of spectacular hotness, what’s your excuse?

Liberals who think they can score points by making a big deal of Christine O’Donnell’s career as an abstinence advocate? Just a bunch of wankers.

CHRISTINE O’DONNELL for U.S. SENATE

UPDATE: Liberals think this video from 2003 is supposed to be the silver bullet that kills Christine the Teenage Witch:

O’Donnell argues that teenagers are “not dogs in heat,” but are rational creatures who are capable of acting intelligently in their own best interests. Scandalous!

Please note that the author of this WaPo item about O’Donnell’s 2003 video, Greg Sargent, is a Journolist alumnus who said this about the Daily Caller revelations: “The real media conspiracy here is on the right. It’s a conspiracy to pretend that there’s a story here when there isn’t one.”

Of the O’Donnell video, Sargent predicts it’s going to be all over TV because it “reveals rather clearly how ambitious and zealous her abstinence crusade really was.” And this is relevant to O’Donnell’s Delaware Senate campaign . . . how?

Never mind: There are right-wingers ginning up fake stories, Sargent warns, while he is using his WaPo blog  to . . . gin up stories.

Said it before, and I’ll say it again: You can’t accuse liberals of having no standards. They’ve got exactly two — one for them and one for everybody else.

Christina Bellantoni’s headline sums it up:

Axelrod To TPM: It’s The GOP’s Fault
Dems Punted On Tax Cuts Vote

Let’s face it:  When it comes to externalizing blame for their own failures, even Susie Madrak can’t top Axelrod.
