Baldilocks is a recent addition to the hardcopy club. She told me on the phone that she’d be a CPAC, which is where one goes to score ink from those favorite authors. Dan Collins missed being a stocking stuffer, but it’s not likely that you’re sufficiently into stocking abuse, anyway. Support your local blogger and buy the books!

Now, I was just talking to Stacy a little bit ago, and he’s still sounding rather jet-lagged. Perhaps a bit remorseful about the cel phone, as well.

This all leads into a discussion of how we’re funding this site. Silver Logic has been a great host, and the people behind SL, as well. As you might guess, the infrastructure behind a Gonzo journalist’s blog can take some serious abuse. It was obvious at about the one week point that a shared virtual server just isn’t enough room for this kind of party. We’re looking to go to a virtual server of our own. Our traffic isn’t likely to settle for less than a dedicated box, though. Side effect of tremendous ego.

So, we’re looking at these books, and the flexibility afforded by WordPress, and considering a book of our own by the end of the year, say, finalizing the content after the election (?). More or less a summary of the blog since its 01 January inception. Call it an aid for when you take off a weekend in the last month just to try and recall the whole year:We’ll come back to that idea with more questions later. The main point will be to discover what mix of elements will make the entire country weep money upon us in alligator tear quantities.

More immediately, there is the question of whether this blogs readers are going to opt to send Stacy on assignment to Massachusetts to cover the 19 January special election. Some shoe leather reporting from Stacy could be a crucial component of the Scott Brown triumph.

Scott Brown is pro-abortion. He’s just another RINO. So why are conservatives getting all excited over some jerk who happens to have an R next to his name?

The thought of Scott Brown aborting ObamaCare is at least a temptation.

Right, if he doesn’t sell out once he gets in to office…kind of an epidemic among RINOs.

As for me, I can’t in any was support any candidate for office that is pro-abortion. Heck, I don’t even want to KNOW anyone who is pro-abortion.

Obamacare is going to federally fund abortions. If this pro-abortion candidate gets elected, he [we hope] will block Obamacare, and prevent, at least for now, additional federal funds for abortions, thus resulting, one would expect, in at least slightly fewer abortions occurring than with Obamacare passing. If supporting a pro-abortion candidate will, in this case, ironically result in fewer abortions, I, as an abortion opponent, am willing to hold my nose and provide that support. My point, ISD, is that while normally I would wholeheartedly agree with you about not supporing a pro-abortion candidate, this is a special and unique case.

….and if anyone thinks that Obamacare is not going to somehow find a way to fund abortions, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn that I can let you have for a song….

The book idea is a damn good one. In addition to what you two have been talking about including in it, I think it should include Stacy’s full report on the suicide of the census worker and a longer version of his Wolverines posting of 28 February last year.
