Just Bought My Ticket to Boston

Posted on | January 13, 2010 | 52 Comments

An eight-hour train ride on two hours sleep? Yeah, I can do that, for a “far-right teabagger”:

Martha Coakley is running to fill the rest of Ted Kennedy’s term, and her opponent is a far-right tea-bagger Republican. . . .
The special election is coming up on Tuesday, and it’s going to be close. Read Vicki’s message below, then make a contribution of $25 or more to Martha Coakley’s campaign today.
Thank you,
Chuck Schumer

(Hat-tip: Hot Air.) See? All Chuck asks is for Democrats to give him $25 or more to stop that “far-right teabagger” — and all I ask is for you to give me $25 or more so I can cover that “far-right teabagger” while he stomps Martha Coakley into whiny little liberal smithereens. We’re all teabaggers now! Some quick reads while I’m riding the rails:

Today’s contributors to the Shoe Leather Fund include Dudley in Richmond, Fredric in New Jersey, William in Falls Church and Nathan in Missouri. Here’s hoping you’ll chip in — every $5 or $10 helps pay the medical expenses if I get beat up by Coakley’s staff.

For the next six days, I’ll be crashing on the Massachusetts sofa of Da Tech Guy in between our road excursions to cover Scott Brown’s final push to victory Jan. 19.

Some guys are too sexy to lose. I can relate.

While your up there you should take an informal poll. I’m curious how many of the Mass voters will admit that they voted for Obama. Just a thought. And give Scott my best regards and Cokley my contempt.

This from my friends in the DCCC:

    Chris —

This is it. It’s just six days until
Election Day in the closely-watched race to fill the late Ted
    Kennedy’s Senate seat in Massachusetts.
The race is neck-and-neck — the latest polls show Democrat Martha
Coakley in the lead, but her Republican opponent is right on her heels.

This seat represents the critical 60th
vote for health insurance reform and the rest of President Obama’s
agenda. That’s why we are asking all Democratic supporters to
help Martha even for just a few hours of your time to make calls or to
    knock on some doors.

    Please sign up to
volunteer – we must preserve Ted Kennedy’s legacy.

Meaningful health insurance reform hangs in the balance of this special
election. We are counting on our
dedicated grassroots supporters like you to make the difference.

    Thank you,

OK I knew this but I finally boiled it down so it can be used: If you call someone a tea-bagger, you are a homophobe.

    1) You are using the term with contempt, using it as a condemnation

    2) Tea-bagging is a homosexual love making techniques

    3) By using the term as a condemnation you are saying the practice (and de facto the practitioners) is despicable.

ergo you are indulging in homophobia.

Note: this should only be used in rooms where the exploding brains of liberals will not stain the carpets.

Martha Coakley is the Marie Antoinette of Massachusettes

Coakley bristles at the suggestion that, with so little time left, in an election with such high stakes, she is being too passive.

“As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’’ she fires back, in an apparent reference to a Brown online video of him doing just that.
