Dan Riehl breaks his vow never to pimp-slap Rick again.

Me? I’m just kind of at a lost for words at Rick’s description of “an identifiable tea party establishment . . . a self identified elite who are more interested in maintaining their position at the top of the tea party ziggurat than in stopping the far left agenda of the Obama administration or in promoting conservative principles in their candidates.”

What in God’s green earth are you talking about, Rick? Look, if it hadn’t been for Christine O’Donnell, Mike Castle would have been uncontested in that GOP primary. And Castle voted for that “far left agenda,” including cap-and-trade, so in what parallel universe can you say that support for Mike Castle was the same as opposing Obama’s agenda?

When Smitty first blogged about Christine here, back in March, nobody gave her a snowball’s chance in hell of winning that primary. She wasn’t even a blip on the national media radar.

When I was shadowing Team O’Donnell in Vegas two months ago, they were begging for a chance to get her interviewed for online podcasts. It wasn’t any “establishment” or “elite” that made this miracle upset happen, Rick. It was a lot of hard work by a bunch of people you’ve never heard of.

Hey, Rick: How about you stop sitting around reading polls and pundits and actually go talk to some of the people involved in this “tea party” stuff you’re writing about? It really isn’t hard. Here’s a video clip I shot last week at the Elks Lodge in Dover:

“We had an army of volunteers who are committed to a cause greater than themselves. . . . The cause is restoring America.”
Christine O’Donnell, Sept. 14, 2010

Did you see when Christine introduced her volunteer coordinator on stage, Rick? Did that volunteer coordinate look like the “establishment,” part of an “elite”? Did she seem like she was interested in maintaining her position atop a “ziggurat”?

Those cheers you heard on the video came from a room full of hundreds of volunteers who worked hard to make that impossible upset victory happen. Now they’re working just as hard to make an even bigger upset happen on Nov. 2.

And what are you doing, Rick?

    carl:

“Have I voted for the mayor? Yes,” Cuomo said.

Actually, he didn’t. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.

The Paladino team used the faux pas to taunt Cuomo about not yet agreeing to debates.

Paladino spokesman Caputo said “Perhaps that’s why Andrew is afraid to debate. He misspeaks so much he fears facing the voters.”

Very well put, Stacy. I think Rick would benefit by relying less on what he imagines Tea Partiers to be and more on actually talking to some of them.

And, yes, I, too, am curious to know how yielding the field to RINOs is going to stop “the far left aganda of the Obama administration.”

According to Delaware Online, Castle is not ruling out a write-in campaign.

Greetings, Kojocaro! Paco come in peace, make ’em friend talk.

What for Kojocaro dump ’em hate words on missy O’Donnell? Bad medicine, brother. By an’ by, she turn Kojocaro into frog, maybe. Kojocaro be up creek on leaky lily-pad then. Paco already see Kojocaro type with feet. But can him type ’em with web feet? Damn good trick, but Paco think no can do.

Kojocaro belong donkey tribe? Paco tell Kojocaro true words: stay in hut, keep ’em head down. Donkey tribe get ’em a$$ kicked next moon coming. Kojocaro catch eye of elephant tribe with hate-spoutings, maybe catch dart in neck, maybe elephant warrior shrink ’em head, put ’em in garden, scare crows away. Bad end for Kojocaro.

Smoke ’em pipe, think over. Paco go now. Peace, brother!
