Barney Frank’s Pals Fannie and Freddie Helped Cause the Foreclosure Crisis

A very simple question: “[A]ren’t there a lot of seat-warmers at Fannie and Freddie who collect their salaries for the express purpose of reading mortgage documents?”

Doug Ross calls our attention to the role of these “government-sponsored entities” in the massive screw-up of mortgage paperwork that now threatens to freeze the entire U.S. housing market:

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters and the rest of the social engineering geniuses who protected Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from regulatory oversight . . . should be serving life sentences in Leavenworth.

OK, but first let’s get them out of Congress.

    You mean the guy who tried 18 times to rein in this mess while Bawney “Fannie Ranger” Fwank and the rest of the Copperhead felons blocked it? I’m sure he has a clear conscience.

    President Bush is doing just fine, thank you, enjoying his retirement, visiting wounded veterans, doing charity work, and generally showing class by staying out of politics, unlike glory-hounds Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

    As for “demonizing” Frank and his cadre of tax cheats, frauds, and outright public purse pickpockets, they’re doing a great job of that all by their shriveled little selves.

    Bush was one of the greatest Presidents in history, for all his flaws. That you are too stupid to recognize this is hardly our concern.

    But how could you tell the truth about Frank’s record and role in the financial crisis WITHOUT “demonizing” him? He comes off as the bad guy in any honest appraisal – he was the driving force behind intimidating lenders into offering “sub-prime” loans to unqualified buyers, going back 15 years, and in requiring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy that bad paper, and in not requiring resellers of mortgage securities to disclose how much “Frank financing” they contained. Not to mention “oversight” including controlling pay and bonuses at the agency where his live-in lover worked . . .

    Oh, and President Bush is doing fine, I hear – thanks for asking. I miss him, too!
