Milwaukee Celebrated 4th of July With Fireworks, Looting, Racial Mob Violence

Guess which was more dangerous?

Shaina Perry remembers the punch to her face, blood streaming from a cut over her eye, her backpack with her asthma inhaler, debit card and cellphone stolen, and then the laughter.
“They just said ‘Oh, white girl bleeds a lot,’?” said Perry, 22, who was attacked at Kilbourn Reservoir Park over the Fourth of July weekend.
Though Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn noted Tuesday that crime is colorblind, he called the Sunday night looting of a convenience store near the park and beatings of a group of people who had gone to the park disturbing, outrageous and barbaric.
Police would not go quite as far as others in connecting the events; Flynn said several youths “might” be involved in both.
“We’re not going to let any group of individuals terrorize or bully any of our neighborhoods,” Flynn said.
Perry was among several who were injured by a mob they said beat and robbed them and threw full beer bottles while making racial taunts. The injured people were white; the attackers were African-American, witnesses said.

UPDATE: Noting the 2010 Census results for Milwaukee – “Today the city is 40% black, 37% white, 17% Hispanic and 3.7% Asian” — Vox Day writes:

It’s really not that difficult to understand that whereas small minorities usually conform, more or less, to the behavioral patterns of the majority that outnumbers them, they cease to do so once they become the numerically dominant population. And to be fair, why on Earth should they? It’s now their territory by ancient right of conquest and modern right of self-determination. So, one can safely predict that it will not take long before the Milwaukee crime rate rises to the level of Detroit.

Writing something like that should elicit accusations of “raaaaacism” — from white liberals who wouldn’t dare set foot in Milwaukee after dark. Liberals constantly patrol the Internet looking for opportunities to shriek “raaaaacist” at conservatives, rather than concerning themselves with the actual (and more dangerous) racism of “youths” engaged in mob violence.

Vox Day’s blog has never punched anybody in the face. Or looted a convenience store, for that matter. Just sayin’ . . .

UPDATE II: Welcome, Instapundit readers! As I remarked earlier on Twitter, “Liberals believe ‘racist’ is the antonym of ‘Democrat.’” That is to say, the issue of race has become so politicized that the accusation of “racism” is now almost always an attempt to score political points, rather than a warning against genuine danger. Liberals constantly accuse conservatives of racism — there are 5 A’s in “raaaaacism“ — merely to gain political advantage, and have thus stripped the word of any useful meaning, which is why “That’s racist!” has become a popular joke.

    Frankly, the people who were attacked are stupid.  Dumb.  “Box-of-Rocks” dumb.  IQ’s lower than freezing-temp-in-Fahrenheit dumb.

    ANYBODY who’s lived here for a while knows that Reservoir Park is not a place to go hang out after 10 PM, period.  Doing so when there are SURE to be ………ahhh……….unruly characters walking through the park (such as after the lakefront fireworks program) is ultra-double-stupid.

    No, they didn’t “deserve” what they got.  But then, leaving your $300.00 Ipod on your desk at highschool might cause it to disappear.

    Great post, RSM.

    It gets so tired seeing people play the race card to silence conservatives.  But here’s the best reason why such race hustlers are annoying: they are overlooking REAL racism with REAL consequences.  All those idiots screaming that blacks can’t be racist, by definition, knew they were being obnoxious.  Indeed, they knew they were being racist.  When I confronted someone about this in school years ago, she replied ‘build a bridge and get over it’.  By which I mean to say: they said serious things but made a point to show they were unserious about it.

    This kind of problem will continue getting worse.  I’m fortunate enough to live in a part of Texas where blacks and whites share food, faith, work, and family sometimes… without much drama, but I’ve seen racists in St Louis, LA, and Baltimore who judge me because my skin is white.  To some of these people, it’s somehow justice.  They are committing the crime they believe was committed against their race.  They can’t get past race.

    Why we even recognize what race a person is, at this late date, is completely beyond me.  It should be seen as a vulgar thing to group people by, but our politicians love doing it.

    Anyway, keep discussing this.  I’m the Dustin who was very critical of some of your comments in the past on race, but I know of very few people who enter the minefield of earnestly discussing these issues, so keep it up, please.

    Wisconsin, a no-issue state as far as concealed carry is concerned.  So, no real surprise that Bravo Sierra like that happens.

    Here in KY?  It might happen, But since we’re a shall issue state you just never know who’s packing or not. Plus, it is perfectly legal to have a loaded handgun in your glove box or on the seat next to you in your vehicle.  So, road rage?  Hmmmm, we don’t experience a lot of that sort of stuff.

    The point? An armed society is a polite society.

    Read somewhere today someone preening that America has eliminated racism in one generation, an historical achievement.  Not interested in back-tracking the url.  But that assertion is bullshit.  Black racism is rampant,  Amerind racism is rampant (never was otherwise), Arab racism is rampant, Persian and Iranian (not the same thing) racisms are rampant, Indian racism is rampant, Hispanic (what in hell is that, BTW?) racism is rampant, Chinese racism is rampant, Japanese racism is rampant, Slavic racism is rampant, etc.  Virtually the entire racist world wants to come to this fundamentally non-racist nation or to remain here … to practice racism.

    And the Scots/Anglo/German founders who made it non-racist and inviting are racists?  Bullshit.I think the chaotic (leftist) frame of reference is driven by anti-Scots/Anglo/German racism.  That is to say, the chaotics’ anti-Americanism is driven by racism.  They hate human beings.  They hate what they are not.  They are far deeper racists than almost anyone observes.  Say to the self-made bastards, no ma’am/sir, you are the racist.

    So. Did they attack them solely because they were white? Or did they attack them because they had something they wanted and while they were engaged in basic thuggery/robbery, they also made racial remarks? You see, I’m having a problem seeing common theft as “racially motivated” since the very same thugs will rob and/or murder someone of their own ethnic group. Too many stories of one black kid murdering another black kid for his sneakers, to think its rising “racial violence” when that same black kid goes on to then rob a white kid of his cell phone. I realize it’s of little, or no , comfort to their surviving family; but I see a difference between the dragging death of a James Byrd and a white teenager being killed during the robbery of a 7-11. I’m fairly sure that had a white guy asked for a lift from Bryd’s murderers he would not have been dragged, whereas a black teenager working at that 7-11 would have been just as dead. I think we have become far too ready to label interactions of any kind – either good or bad – between blacks and whites, “racism”.

    there may be other reasons….you know, like the fact that unions basically don’t exist in the Third World nation of Texas.  Or, the fact that the “appearance” of SEIU goons at Tea Parties is non-existent.  When Tea Party whiners tangled with goons, it was outside of Congressional “town hall” meetings.  You remember, SDN, it was when you were telling us how freedom means the inability to buy health insurance.

    I seriously doubt the SEIU “thugs” you see in you fever dreams are avoiding screaming,  angry, middle-aged white guys because they  are carrying guns though

    Weird how they never fail to find racism to shriek at, eh Stacy?

    I will note that is not at all racist for a discussion of street crime to turn into a discussion of race war and “I gots my gun” from your enlightened commertariat.  Oh, and the allegation that the wealthy, Ivy League educated Eric Holder has more in common with petty criminals in Milwaukee than the rest of us, because of his skin color, is also, very not racist.

    So, it is weird that liberals could imagine they could find raaaaacism on the internet….it is after all not that hard to find on some blogs
