‘Pass This Bill!’ Or … Dont.

Posted on | September 17, 2011 | 23 Comments

Not exactly news from Washington:

President Obama launched another wave in his assault on Congress over his jobs bill Saturday, using his weekly radio address to urge Americans contact their representatives in support of the legislation. . . .
Obama urged his audience to visit the White House website and read the bill for themselves. “And if they’re ideas you agree with, too, every one of you can help make it happen by telling your congressperson to pass this jobs bill right away,” he said.

Do you want to go to WhiteHouse.gov and read that bill? Probably not. And since you’re already reading my blog, let me save you some time:

THE ROBERT STACY McCAIN
ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT OF 2012

STEP 1
Don’t vote for Obama.

STEP 2
Economic recovery!

Public support for my plan is growing every day. And if the American people vote for my plan next year, such is my economic expertise that I can predict the day the recovery will begin: Jan. 20, 2013.

Obama could snap the entire country out of the economic doldrums by uttering the following speech:  “I quit”.

Sheriff Joe Biden would be so confused he’d quit, too.  The recession would instantly end all would be right with the world.

    I denounce myself.

“A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job and recovery is when Obama loses his job.” That was a great line Reagan used on the stump in 1980, only Carter was the foil back then.

Damn, and I thought Daily Caller was desperate for traffic with that Tyson thing!

But seriously, he’s going to try and Alinsky the entire Congress?

    Bob: Mistah Speakah!…Mistah Speakah!

Cryin’ John: The chair recognizes the gentlemen from the Tiki Bar.

Bob: Thank you, Mistah Speakah.  I hereby propose an amendment to THE ROBERT STACY McCAIN ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT OF 2012.  I submit to The House Amendment Number One: An Act To Give Someone The Steady Work He So Richly Deserves, hereinafter to be referred to as The Andrew Breitbart Employs Robert Stacy McCain Act.

Cryin’ John: The Chair recognizes the gentleman from The Admiralty.

Admiral Smitty: I object to this amendement, Mistah Speakah, because it is unconstitutional for chopped liver to be given special privileges.

    Adobe Walls: Dungbat!

    JeffS: Tsk…tsk…Smitty.

I would say the recovery will be at full steam on that date, but it will actually start  Weds. AM on November 7th 2012.

    From Ross Kaminski’s American Spectator column page 2, 9 -16- 11
“Here are a few of the tweets which have come across the #attackwatch hashtag just during the writing of this article:

From DrFreeLance: “I saw a werewolf drinkin a pina colada at Trader Vic’s, and his hair was perfect.”

From chuckdevore (Republican state legislator in California): “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean a big majority of us isn’t out to get you…”

From EddieRobbins: “My neighbor removed his Obama bumper sticker. I think he’s a racist.”

From DickMeyers: “Bless me #AttackWatch for I have sinned. I have muttered naughty words about our Dear Leader 9 times & have doubted his divinity a few times”

From joaniekensil: “Ate refried beans & chips for breakfast which is sort of racist foodist – Carbon emissions to follow.”

From PoliticalGravity: “Saw a kid with a lemonade stand and she didn’t have a permit.”

From thorninaz: “Hey #attackwatch, I saw 6 ATM’s in an alley, killing a Job. It looked like a hate crime!”

And from the always excellent IowaHawkBlog: “#AttackWatch have you cried “uncle” yet? Because we can keep this up all f***in’ day.”

Most of these occurred within a 2-minute span. You get the idea.”

Unfortunately, deselecting Obama is only the first small step towards recovery.  Things are pretty screwed up:  the housing market is going to take years to get rid of excess inventory before new construction can again gain enough momentum to lead the domestic recovery, and Europe is facing a huge banking and fiscal crisis they are currently dealing with by applying cosmetics and band-aids.  Our employment problem has a worldwide effect, too – without America consuming the world’s production, many of these other countries don’t have the wealth to buy our exports, so the stagnation could be a long one.

Not that getting rid of the SCoaMF isn’t a good start . . .

“THE ROBERT STACY McCAIN ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT OF 2012”

    I’m fer it.

In fact it’s even better than the UNDERPANTS GNOME RECOVERY ACT OF 2012 as it eliminates the ??? of Step Two. You’re 33.3% more efficient than you realized.

What’s more we’re 100% convinced that your plan will work.

Your point is well taken; however, I don’t think the housing market will lead a domestic recovery.  I see an unchained domestic oil industry as the leader of the recovery.  The resulting rise in jobs and wealth will then spark some new home building.
