Megyn Kelly to Kirsten Powers: ‘You Don’t Seem to Know What You’re Talking About’

Posted on | July 14, 2010 | 47 Comments

The relevant quote comes at about the three-minute mark. Everybody else has already blogged this — I got it at Ace of Spades HQ — and I agree it might well be the Most Awesome 10 Minutes in Fox News History:

Megyn’s one-upsmanship — “Have you read the testimony?” — is what sparks the fireworks. I’m sure King Samir Shabazz watched this and said to himself, “Crazy cracker bitches.”

The AOSQHQ commenters are in fine form, of course.

The cat fight starts at 2:45.

The lesson here, don’t piss Megyn Kelly off.

AofS has the dope on it.

It definitely deserves it own thread. As for Eric Holder’s pal and Obama poll watcher and supporter King Shabazz (who wants to kill cracker babies), come on, he is turned on by this stuff too.

So the bad thing that Bush did was stuff the DOJ with conservative lawyers…how is that shocking? Obama did the same Kirsten…it’s politics.

Kirsten with her doll’s eye blank look was even more contradictory and snide than usual. She did not have a coherent or logical comment even once.

Still haven’t heard a word about this – Kirsten claims to have talked to the DOJ at length – yet Megyn has said that all the DOJ does is send faxes & brief e-mails in response to Adams’ allegations.

Who exactly was Kirsten talking to at the DOJ?

Oh man…Megyn got served up proper.
She’s been exposed for the partisan hack that she’s always been. She wouldn’t answer the questions posed to her about the lack of faux-rage when Bush handled voter intimidation cases. She instead resorted to threats of cutting off the mic, which is what Cons tend to do when confronted with a counterpoint.
I’m glad that Kirsten is highlighting the disproportionate coverage of this non-issue by Fox. Quite apparent that they are further trying to drive that wedge between whites and minorities by insinuating, based on the testimony of another partisan hack, that this administration is willfully favoring blacks over whites. Of course, this fits neatly into the Tea Bagger paranoia narrative that resulted from the election of the first African-American President. The unfounded fears of a President seeking “payback” for the evils of the past is ,to me, one of the funniest narratives Cons have tried to perpetuate.
The summer has been slow by way of news cycles, and Fox has not missed a beat in drumming up another blatantly divisive meme to fill the void.
However, Megyn’s facts don’t hold up to the scrutiny. In the meantime all those fearful morons in the “heartland” will lose sleep over the prospect of the “racial bias” of an administration headed by an African-American. Projecting much, are we?
Thanks Megyn! I’m sure her shilling for this non-story will highlight the misinformation that Fox once again is engaging in….

This is from Thomas Perez’ testimony during the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights regarding the Black Panther case.Read it and weep:
“In another case, in Arizona, the complaint was received by a national civil rights organization regarding events in Pima, Arizona in the 2006 election when three well-known anti-immigrant advocates affiliated with the Minutemen, one of whom was carrying a gun, allegedly intimidated Latino voters at a polling place by approaching several persons, filming them, and advocating and printing voting materials in Spanish.
In that instance, the Department declined to bring any action for alleged voter intimidation, notwithstanding the requests of the complaining parties.
In 2005, the Division received allegations that armed Mississippi State investigators intimidated elderly minority voters during an investigation of possible voter fraud in municipal elections by visiting them in their home, asking them who they voted for, in spite of state law protections that explicitly forbid such inquiries.
Here again, the Division front office
leadership declined to bring a voter intimidation case in this matter. This is the matter referenced in a recent GAO report that examined a number of cases brought by certain sections of the Civil Rights Division during the Bush administration.”
    I predict a whole lot of silence…
