Accused sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt “violated a pretrial order to have no contact with the victim in her teen-sex case,” the Palm Beach Post reported Thursday, citing a court motion by prosecutors that may end the 19-year-old lesbian’s release on bond.

According to the document cited in an article by Elliott Jones of the Post, “Hunt has been in almost daily contact” with the underage victim, and has secretly sent more than 20,000 text messages to the younger girl. Prosecutors say they have “over 25 lewd and lascivious photographs the defendant sent to the child victim.”

Hunt, who graduated from Sebastian River High School in June, was arrested in February and charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl who was a freshman teammate on the school’s basketball team.

In May, Hunt’s case made headlines when she rejected a plea bargain offered by Florida prosecutors, and her parents launched the online “Free Kate” movement on her behalf.

Wednesday, prosecutors offered a second plea deal to Hunt, but her mother, Kelley Hunt Smith, denounced the offer in several message sent to the “Free Kate” Facebook group.

Kaitlyn Hunt is being urged to accept the new deal which would keep her out of jail and prevent her from being registered as a sex offender — if she pleads no contest to two misdemeanor battery counts and one felony count for interference of child custody. . . .
Hunt . . . is facing felony charges of lewd and lascivious activity. If she goes to trial, she faces 15 years in prison if convicted.

UPDATE II: Oh, my goodness: Just saw the document filed with the court, and it is absolutely devastating to Kaitlyn Hunt. “These photographs are explicit and depict the defendant [i.e., Hunt] nude, sometimes engaged in sex acts such as placing her fingers inside her vagina.” According to the document, Hunt also sent the younger girl at least one video that “explicitly depicts the defendant [i.e., Hunt] masturbating by rubbing her vagina with her fingers while moaning.”

UPDATE III: More from the document filed today: “The defendant [i.e., Hunt] coordinated secret meetings with the child victim [who is now 15] where the child would leave her home and get picked up by the defendant. The defendant would drive the child to a remote location where they would have intimate contact. . . . The child victim has stated to Detective Jeremy Shepherd that these meetings have taken place as recently as two weeks ago.”

  1. Witness tampering. I’d wager dollars to donuts, she was hoping to elicit responses from the victim to use if the victim testifies. If it’s not that, she continues to prove beyond doubt that she is both evil and stupid.

  7. Really, what the hell were the prosecutors thinking? They’ve known this since March it would seem, yet they have offered her not one, but two plea deals.

    Additionally, the Hunt family and their supporters have been libeling and slandering the victim’s family, accusing them of hating gays, hating their daughter, etc. I hope they sue all their asses off.

  8. It could have been a prosecutor’s trap actually. Prosecutors would have offered her this sweet plea deal, knowing that she was having ongoing contact with the victim. A week after she takes the plea deal they reveal that she was in violation and send her sorry ass to jail.

  9. I understand that’s a possibility, but that’s not usually how the trap is sprung. Round 1, first plea deal: “Ms. Hunt, we advise you to take the plea deal or we will tack on all of these additional felony charges.” Instead, they spend three more months going around and around? I certainly hope they had something up there sleeves all along. I’d better go stare at my navel to calm down.

  10. These guys at Indian River aren’t rookies. My guess is they were giving the Hunts enough rope/time to hang themselves. Also, since the Hunts stirred up the LGBT community by making it about sexuality instead of ages, the prosecution wisely treaded lightly to avoid that perception. Kate had control of her fate; she was warned, given plea deals, but chose ultimately to go to jail rather than follow the law.

  11. Either way she’ll likely avoid jail, but all the same it’s nice to think of her being subjected to the kind of abuse she subjected the poor kid to at the hands of… more experienced, I guess I will say, dykes. 😀

  12. We don’t know when the prosecutors learned of these messages, and if Kate actually sent them, she can’t blame that on the prosecution.

  13. This whole thing has had an off-the-charts ick factor from the beginning. As Stacy said, bad causes attract bad people. The cult of personality surrounding a HIGH SCHOOL student, whose primary accomplishment has been to have finger sex with a minor in public restroom, has been bizarre. When you have married mothers tweeting about Kate Hunt night and day, and making pilgrimages to see her, e.g., Rachel Zerbe, and pervy 50+ year old men writing about her constantly in tones normal people reserve for Ghandi and Mother Teresa, something is really wrong.

  15. Such will be used to “prove” that the lovely Miss Hunt is in luv with her girlfriend, with luv being something to use to prove that, well, she just couldn’t help herself, and we must have sympathy for her.

    What it really proves, of course, is that she’s just plain nuts. No one who is capable of using a computer or cell phone for communications can be so ignorant as to not know that law enforcement can subpoena the records and see just where the messages have gone. No one of normal intelligence — admittedly, something no one has accused Miss Hunt of having — could not know that law enforcement and the prosecution would be looking for such violations.

  19. I love the smell of fresh Florida felonies in the morning Look, we all knew this couldn’t wrap up uneventfully. The Hunt family failure is not yet complete.

    So what next? First, a purge of their oldest supporters from the inner circle. (Yes, I know they did this once already, but surely more double-secret “haters” have infiltrated by now.)

    And even though time is short, the smart money would still be bet on some peripheral Hunt family member making things worse by their foolish actions. Is there a feeble-minded uncle we haven’t heard from yet? You know, Uncle Jasper or some such, who’s going to get it into his underripe melon to start threatenting the judge, jury, prosecutor, governor, etc.

    Never underestimate stupid.

  21. Apparently, Mama Hunt felt that three years of felony probation (no jail time, no SO registry), was just too much to bear for a 19 year old girl. Also, the SA tacked on a custodial interference felony charge, and Mama Hunt was adamant that Kaitlyn didn’t do anything to the parents. Of course, she is full of it, but that’s another story.

  23. 3 yrs felony probation is pretty damned standard. Though, if Kate cannot obey a simple no-contact order during pretrial, I have a feeling the next 3 years to be full of revocation of probation hearings.

  24. It was an incredibly generous deal, with the possibility of expunging the felony from her record if she kept her nose clean.

  25. So she gets to cut a deal that keeps her from being registered as a sex offender, while the sex offender registries are full of people who got on there for kissing a kid in class or being caught urinating in a bush somewhere.

    She certainly should be on that registry. And clearly not a short-timer, either.
