Bitches Be Cray-Cray: A Heteropatriarchal Theory of Non-Transformative Justice

Otherwise known as the Anglo-American common-law tradition, I figure glitzing up the Rule of Law in fancy intellectual jargon might give it the academic oomph necessary to compete with this crazy crap:

In the wake of the Trayvon Martin verdict, Chicago has seen several public events and workshops exploring its aftermath. On Aug. 15, queer and feminist scholars gathered at the famous Hull House for a panel titled, “Transformative Justice and The Trayvon Martin Case: A Consideration.”
There have been many cries for justice and calls for the prosecution and incarceration of George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Martin. However, this panel was put together to explore the possibilities of transformative justice (TJ) in the wake of the event.
TJ emphasizes alternatives to what is called the prison—industrial complex (PIC). For its proponents, TJ forgos revenge and believes that more incarceration only worsens the conditions that made the violence possible in the first place. TJ also resists using the PIC, believing that it is in itself brutal and harmful toward both the guilty and the injured parties.

Oh, shut hell up. And go fix me a sammich. You don’t even describe your own panel as well as does conservative Katherine Timpf:

Capitalism and white supremacy both played roles in the killing of Trayvon Martin, a public university professor said . . .
Dr. Erica R. Meiners, a professor in the Gender and Women’s Studies Department at Northeastern Illinois University, made the remarks while speaking on a panel of self-described “queer feminist scholars.”
“[T]he web of interconnected histories and contexts that made it possible for George Zimmerman to shoot Trayvon Martin and walk away cannot be separated from white supremacy, colonialism, heteromasculinity, and capitalism,” said Meiners.
“These killing threads shape the world we inhabit,” she added.

There is a clinical term for people who talk like that: Crazy.

In addition to Dr. Meiners, the other “Queer Theory” panelists were Traci Schlesinger, associate professor of sociology at DePaul University, and Beth Richie, a professor of criminal justice and gender and women’s studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The inmates are running the asylum at taxpayer expense. You are sending your kids to college and paying tuition so that anti-American wackjobs like this can teach your children to hate you.

  1. I guess it would never dawn on these “experts” that maybe it’s because these kids have absolutely no upbringing. The father’s long gone and the mother actually encourages them to sell drugs because it brings in a lot of money. Many of them are being raised by other gang members. Santorum was 100% right about the breakdown of the family unit and its consequences. And guys like Jesse Jackson and Sharpton couldn’t care less about them. They’re just in it for the money.

  2. When immorality and depravity are considered the norm by academia and government, society (and the nation) are lost. Satan and his minions gleefully gloat over their handiwork …

  3. They have a point about sending guys to prison for graduate degrees in criminality. OTOH, while they’re in prison they aren’t practicing on the general public. It’s a horrible, no win situation, and probably the worst thing we could do with them except for all the other things we could do with them.

The rest is just their fantasy world, of course.

  4. Gary Larson of The Far Side, one of the best comics ever, had the appropriate panel, which you can find here.

Looks like more embedding work for His Wombatness!

  5. [Raising hand and jumping up and down like Horshak in Welcome Back, Kotter] It’s capitalism’s fault because some (white) people have much more than (most) black people, and they have to get their working class white minions and stooges like George Zimmerman to walk around to defend their McMansions in their gated communities from oppressed Skittle-armed angels like Trayvon Martin.

  6. They’re not just passively crazy. These people put so much time and effort into formulating these complex, imaginary, bullshit theories that they actively work at being crazy.

  7. It is not a racial thing, but a social thing. Murray did a study of Fishtown, PA (a working class white neighborhood outside Philidelphia) and Belmont, MA (a privileged community that had the Romneys as members) and found the same socio-degenerative patterns in Fishtown we see in minority communities: Fishtown v. Belmont

  8. I swear, these so-called academics strive for incomprehensibility. They think the less others can understand what they’ve written, the better it must be.

  9. The first quoted paragraph…what did it say? Did it actually mean anything? It was “intro to meaningless terminology.”

  10. Her appointment is in the teachers’ college and a pair of victimology programs. She is a simulacrum of an academic.

  11. Consulting Merriam-Webster, Meiners fits the queer bill perfectly.

  12. Well, yes. Of course. But they could make a better effort at a logic train. They’re all edumactaors and stuff after all. They don’t get to make shortcuts like that just because everyone knows what they stand for.

  13. This sort of stuff is typical of useless academics. I wish we could go to a system where we could separate the BSC idiots in the Libtard Arts form the STEM people and let them stew in their juices and leave the STEM majors utterly alone. The Libtard Arts would not be missed by the STEM majors and your supposed to be educated before you get to a University anyway.

  14. In defense of the Liberal Arts and Humanities, the change toward incomprehension only occurred with the advent of Postmodernism. Formerly, those of us who majored in things like literature and philosophy read great books and pondered great, long lasting ideas. Now, the liberal arts and humanities have been reduced to jargon-laden circle jerks, where heretofore mediocre minds self-identify as intellectuals and then mask their ignorance and third rate ideas in the fog of language. Incomprehension is not only a badge of honor but a necessary camoflage for a mind bereft of reason and knowledge.

  15. professor of criminal justice and gender and women’s studies

    triple professorship?

ever meet a physics/biology professor, of course not.

    phony invented nonsense degrees.

  16. Remember: doctoral dissertations are supposed to be original research, and after all of these years, all of the good and important topics have already been used. When all that’s left is Hair Power: Why Women Lose Political Influence When They Shave Their Pits, some rather non-traditional thinking must be employed.
