When It Comes to ‘Brazen Lies,’
Nobody Excels Joan Walsh

Posted on | August 30, 2012 | 24 Comments

TAMPA, Florida
By now, you’re familiar with the pattern for Republican National Convention coverage: Democrats choose their themes, issue their talking points and their media henchpersons then repeat the partisan spin as if it were a matter of indisputable fact.

It was decided in advance that a major theme of media coverage would be “Republicans Are Racists,” and the liberal lapdogs in the press obligingly parroted the message. Chris Matthews declared it, and MSNBC contorted their coverage to conform to the Democrat talking points. (In case you didn’t realize it, “Chicago” is now a racist dog-whistle code — the “C-bomb,” as they call it at MSNBC.)

In advance of Paul Ryan’s speech — as demonstrated by the fundraising e-mail from DNC executive director Patrick Gaspard decrying “false attack after false attack” — it was decided to call Ryan a liar. This was the pre-determined theme, and when the DNC issued its message memo, their obliging stooges in the press corps repeated the contents without bothering to verify the facts for themselves.

Democrat drum majorette Joan Walsh rushed to the head of the parade to accuse Ryan of “brazen lies,” and the Washington Post ‘s Glenn Kessler took dictation from David Axelrod:

In his acceptance speech, GOP Vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan appeared to suggest that President Obama was responsible for the closing of a GM plant in Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wisc.
That’s not true. The plant was closed in December, 2008, before Obama was sworn in.

This was not independent reporting, but rather stenography for the Obama campaign, as demonstrated by Twitchy, which provides the Twitter talking points from both the DNC and Axelrod himself. And their supposed “facts” are flatly wrong, as Stephen Gutowski shows.

The plant in Janesville, which was GM’s oldest active factory, “was idled in 2009 after it completed production of medium-duty trucks,” according to Karl Rove the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. That is to say, five months into the Obama administration — three months after passage of the $800 billion “stimulus” bill, stuffed full of phony-baloney “green jobs” subsidies for politically connected firms like Solyndra — and not, as the “objective fact-checking journalists” claimed, during the Bush administration.

What is so profoundly offensive about the unethical and dishonest behavior of Chris Matthews, Joan Walsh and other such Democrat sockpuppets is that they won’t admit who they are and what they’re doing. They are not independent journalists, they’re partisan publicists, yet they expect to be taken seriously as reporters when they can’t even be bothered to do a Google search and find out when a factory closed.

They are a disgrace to the profession to which they claim to belong. Truth matters. Truth is precious and powerful. Liars are a dime a dozen.

UPDATE: Remember when CNN’s Soledad O’Brien was caught reciting liberal blog Talking Points Memo on air? This is even worse: People who are claim to be professional journalists accused Paul Ryan of lying, based on talking points issued directly from the Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign, which the journalists themselves didn’t bother to verify, and which are provably false.

The combination of partisanship, dishonesty and sheer laziness — these worthless a–holes don’t even try to do their jobs — is as shocking as anything said by David Chalain, who got fired from Yahoo News, while a Democrat Party sockpuppet like Glenn Kessler keeps collecting a paycheck from the Washington Post.

Obviously, Chalain’s career-destroying mistake was not that he hates Republicans, nor that his accusation of racism was unsubstantiated, but that his particular lies had not be pre-approved by the DNC and David Axelrod. This saves the Democrats a lot of money, because the most valuable members of Obama’s re-election campaign are on the payrolls of the Washington Post, the New York Times, ABC, CBS, NBC . . .

UPDATE II: Remember that I predicted this — that the mainstream media coverage of the GOP convention would bear no resemblance to the actual convention — because they are professionally committed to reporting “The Exact Opposite of Truth.”

UPDATE III: Linked by Evil Blogger Lady, Rio Norte Line and William Hogethanks! — and by Professor Glenn Reynolds, who comments:

You know, the Democrats’ media base has served two functions. One, of course, has been to misinform the people who don’t pay much attention. It can still do that, though with reduced efficacy. But the other was to demoralize or intimidate the opposition. That part seems to have pretty much fallen by the wayside.

Now they’re trying to “hide the de-Klein,” so to speak.

Joan Walsh is a lying leftist whore. Fortunately, Salon is read only by a few conservatives looking to be outraged. No one else bothers with her drivel anymore.

Man, if only I was half as racist as liberals, I’d understand all this stuff.

Desperately Palinizing Paul Ryan. It is what the left has to do. They can’t argue the truth…they would lose!

Never mind that Paul Ryan never “appeared to suggest that President Obama was responsible for
the closing of a GM plant,” but instead recounted how Obama promised to keep plants like that one open if he was elected. The timing of the plant closure doesn’t matter one whit — the important piece is that Obama lied about saving and/or creating jobs. It’s been lies from the very beginning, but the Left is so desperate to cover their record of lies and failure that they’ve resorted to making up lies for their opponents to refute.

Don’t play their game. It’s not about which month the plant shut down. It’s about Obama not coming through on his campaign promise, just like he hasn’t come through on any of them.

Joan Walsh is one of the democrat “sucker fish” stuck to the big, shrinking and drifting whale that is the Obie administration. She receives succor from that attachment that gives her indigestion in growing amounts. Her political host is dying a political death and she with it. She senses that and is terrified. “Even as she sleeps, her hand disturbs her.”……(J.V. Cunningham).

You misunderstand the nature of their jobs. Their job is to push the statist line, to support tyranny, to suck up to dictators and spit on the free, capable, and hard-working.

    They’re journalists.

I have personally seen today the AP, Washington Post, and CBS News all “fact-checking” with Obama talking points on this plant closing. Since there is an online video report from a local television news show about the plant closing in June, 2009, which clearly shows it still operating then, it is evident that none of these “fact-checkers” bothered to so much as Google it, they just accepted what Obama’s team sent them as the truth.

Lying hack propagandists, every single one.

    In over the transom:

If only someone, somewhere would create some sort of tool that would help to search things. Kind of like the horribly expensive LexsisNexsis thingy they taught in J-School.

You know, something that would search documents on some sort of network.

Ah, well, until then, we’ll just have to rely on JournoList.
