Thank You, ‘Far-Right’ Lesbian!

That’s a very interesting headline:

Xenophobic populism has returned to German national politics with a bang, this time in the guise of a 38-year-old lesbian investment-banking economist. Alice Weidel is the unusual figure who has come to symbolize the far-right Alternative for Germany’s (AfD) goal-line run into the Bundestag. The AfD’s astounding 13.4 percent finish makes it the first openly chauvinistic, illiberal party to capture seats in Germany’s foremost democratic institution since the early postwar years. . . .
In part, the AfD owes its promotion into prime-time German politics to Weidel, its unlikely public face. A complete unknown in Germany until she, in tandem with Alexander Gauland, was tapped to lead the party’s national campaign. Gauland more or less fits the stereotype of the Willie Stark-style populist rabble-rouser, but its Weidel — a self-confident, dressed-for-success expatriate financial consultant who on the surface seems to be the sort of “globalist” that nationalist populists typically claim to despise — who has earned the higher public profile. . . .

Notice here the use of words like “xenophobic,” “chauvinistic” and “nationalist,” intended to suggest that this “far-right” party is essentially neo-Nazi in its political orientation. This deliberate smear is an attempt to conceal the reality of what is actually happening in Germany.

The “far-right” is, in fact, attempting to defend Germany’s democratic institutions and liberal culture against a foreign threat — radical Islam — which has been aggravated by an influx of “refugees.” There has been an epidemic of sexual violence against women and girls in Germany committed by these Muslim immigrants, and Prime Minister Angela Merkel’s party has enabled this invasion of foreign predators.

In the “intersectional” identity-politics calculus of American liberalism, of course, a lesbian like Alice Weidel is expected to be an ally of the foreign invaders, but Germany is not America, and Weidel is shrewd enough to recognize her own self-interest as more important than the slogans of multiculturalism. Islamic culture is both misogynistic  and homophobic, and why shouldn’t a German lesbian oppose a Muslim invasion?

The rhetoric of multiculturalism, just like the smears used against Weidel’s “far-right” party, is deceptive in its purposes, intended to lull us into a state of somnambulance, so that we sleepwalk into a future organized according to the plans of an intellectual elite. Evidence that these plans are dangerous — e.g., the “Muslim rape frenzy” in Germany — must be suppressed, so that the citizenry surrenders without protest.

Alice Weidel ain’t playing that game, see? We are witnessing the Götterdämmerung of elite liberalism, and the news from Germany is confirmation that people everywhere are finally waking up.

Democrats: The Atheist Anti-American Feminist Gun-Grabber Man-Hating Party

Far be it from me to offer helpful advice to Democrats. The sooner the Democrat Party implodes from its internal contradictions, the better off America and the world will be, as far as I’m concerned. And so I probably shouldn’t point out that being the anti-Jesus party isn’t going to help the Democrats any more than their being the anti-capitalist party, or the anti-male party, or the anti-white party, or . . .

Shannon Watts a/k/a Shannon Troughton is a Democrat who started “Moms Demand Action,” an anti-Second Amendment group funded by New York multibillionaire Michael Bloomberg. She is a leading practitioner of the Democrat strategy of demonizing gun owners, using the propaganda slogan “Disarm Hate” to promote the idea that every gun owner is a sexist racist homophobe. In other words, Democrats advocate gun-control laws as a means of disarming white heterosexual males.

Obviously, this rhetoric didn’t help Hillary Clinton win over white working-class voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin or Iowa. It’s almost as if voters don’t enjoy being scapegoated or something. But having built an identity-politics coalition around paranoid hatred — blaming all the world’s woes on demonized “right-wing” scapegoats — the Democrats can’t seem to find any other arguments in the Trump era.

So today I noticed the #NashvilleStatement hashtag was trending on Twitter, and when I clicked over, I saw this:

Well, what was this about? A group of evangelical Christian leaders had issued a statement affirming that they still believe what they have always believed, and in particular rejecting the liberal demand for compulsory approval of homosexuality and transgenderism:

“The Nashville Statement is an urgently needed moment of gospel clarity,” stated [Coalition for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood] President Denny Burk. “In a culture nearly defined by sexual confusion and brokenness, the church of Jesus Christ has to proclaim with one voice that God’s good design for gender, marriage, and sexuality.” . . .
Top Evangelicals leaders within the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation’s largest Protestant denomination representing over 47,000 Baptist churches across the United States, signed the statement.
Other major signatories include Anglican pastor and apologist Sam Alberry, popular author and pastor Francis Chan, Charisma Media’s founder and CEO, Steven Strang, and Asbury Theologian’s Visiting Distinguished Professor of Old Testament John N. Oswalt.

Question: What does this theological statement have to do with Shannon Watts’ pet issue of gun control?
Answer: Nothing at all.

Except, of course, she’s a Democrat, so she had to drag her lesbian daughter into the argument to tell us what we already knew, that Democrats aren’t just anti-Second Amendment, but also anti-First Amendment, seeking to prevent Christians from teaching what the Bible says. Democrats consider it “hate speech” to quote Genesis or Deuteronomy or Romans or any other passage of the Bible that could be cited by those who disapprove of homosexual behavior.

Democrats like Shannon Watts promote the idea that Bible-believing Christians are a greater threat to America than Koran-believing Muslims. Why? Because exit-poll data show that Bible-believing Christians tend to vote Republican, just like a majority of gun owners vote Republican, and most white people vote Republican. If you are a member of any demographic constituency that is aligned with the GOP, Democrats will find a way to demonize you as the epitome of evil, because scapegoating their enemies is what the Democrat Party is all about.

By the way, is anyone surprised that Shannon Watts’ daughter is gay? Aren’t Democrats now basically the anti-heterosexual party? America is still a free country, and you can say what you want, but they can take away my heterosexuality when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

Probably most Americans agree with me, but Democrats hate most Americans. They are fanatically devoted to hating us, and yet can’t seem to understand why we don’t vote for them. Let’s hope they never figure it out, because this is why Hillary Clinton is not president.

Neo-Nazi Alt-Right Trump Supporter Commits Racist Terrorism in … SPAIN?

Morocco native Driss Oukabir reportedly rented van used in attack.

In the wake of the pretzel-logic guilt-trip that blamed Republicans for Saturday’s deadly violence in Charlottesville, CNN will no doubt find some way to blame President Trump for the Barcelona attack:

Barcelona authorities released the identity of one of the terror suspects behind the deadly ISIS-inspired van attack. Driss Oukabir is suspected to have been involved in the attack amid reports a Spanish passport with an Arabic surname was found inside of the white van. . . .

More from the London Daily Mail:

At least 13 people have been killed and dozens injured in Barcelona after a van ploughed into pedestrians in a busy tourist street.
More than two hours after the atrocity a man was shot dead after driving through a roadblock in a Ford Focus and opening fire, injuring two police officers.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, describing the killers as ‘soldiers of the Islamic state’. Terror police have arrested two suspects.
One of them is believed to be Driss Oukabir, a Catalan resident in his late 20s of Moroccan origin. It is unclear who the second detained suspect is, but reports in Spain have suggested Oukabir’s brother has been taken into custody.
Oukabir, who has reportedly served time in a Spanish prison, had earlier rented one of the vans used in the deadly attack. The suspect is being treated ‘as a terrorist’, police in Barcelona have confirmed.

Do they have any statues of Robert E. Lee in Barcelona? Because we’ve been informed by the media (and by every pundit on Twitter) that Confederate monuments are a major cause of terrorism.

UPDATE: The Republican Party Rush Limbaugh Sons of Confederate Veterans ISIS has now claimed responsibility for the Barcelona attack:

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack via its Amaq agency, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil, Spain’s national police force, told ABC News the man who rented the van has been identified as Driss Oukabir. It is unclear if he is connected to the attack.
An eyewitness told a Spanish television station that the suspect was running people over in his van for nearly 1,000 feet before fleeing into a nearby Turkish restaurant. . . .
According to police, a car hit a police checkpoint at Avinguda Diagonal, a popular shopping avenue in the city. The area was evacuated and police are investigating if the incident is connected to the Las Ramblas attack. Police confirmed that one person was shot and killed in that incident, but they have still not confirmed if there is any connection between this incident and the attack in Las Ramblas. Two police officers were injured in the checkpoint incident.
Las Ramblas is a popular tourist area in Spain’s second-largest city. . . .

These right-wing terrorist Trump supporters are everywhere!

Michigan ‘Antifa’ Group Vows to ‘Shut Down’ Catholic Group’s Conference

The Church Militant is an independent Catholic online media group led by Michael Voris, and since 2015, they have sponsored an annual conference for Catholic men called “Strength and Honor.” Last week, an “antifa” (anti-fascist) group calling itself Michigan Peoples Defense Network (MPDN) announced their plans to “shut down” the conference at a hotel in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights:

A local “antifascist” group is trying to crush free speech and silence dissent by protesting Church Militant’s upcoming men’s conference. The group is also smearing Church Militant as “anti-woman” and “hateful.” . . .
“As the radical Christian right rises in America, having supported Donald Trump’s campaign of hatred against the most marginalized,” MPDN’s announcement reads, “it is more vital than ever that the community stands against hate draped in a cross.”
MPDN falsely characterizes Church Militant’s Strength and Honor Conference as a “men’s rights” event, condemning the alleged “hateful messages” spread at this “anti-woman” event.
“[T]he claim that the conference is about ‘men’s rights’ is a deliberate distortion,” stated Church Militant’s official press release Monday. “The conference is about men’s obligations, not ‘rights.'” . . .
MPDN, only formed in December, employs a logo that includes two crossed baseball bats, as well as fists raised in defiance, and claims it’s necessary “to respond with more than messages of unity and solidarity” to what it calls the rise of the far right. MPDN goes on to state it is “prepared to physically defend” victims of alleged racist attacks.

MPDN calls The Church Militant “a radical religious hate group working to suppress women’s rights and promote a theocratic Christian agenda.” It would be more accurate to describe MPDN as a radical anti-religious hate group promoting an anarchist anti-Christian agenda. And the possibility of “antifa” violence cannot be ignored:

Christine Niles, a Vietnamese immigrant who helps run a parachurch organization in Michigan that promotes Roman Catholic teaching, expected to spend this week preparing theological materials and getting ready for the group’s annual conference for men.
Instead, Niles, who is editor-in-chief of Church Militant, has been in consultations with local law enforcement after learning that a left-wing group is drumming up support to shut down the conference, which will take place on Aug. 4-6 at locations in Ferndale and Sterling Heights, Mich.
“Police have reached out to both sides and will have patrol cars observing,” Niles told Fox News. “But we don’t know who the activists are associated with and we don’t know what will happen.” . . .
Niles, who has degrees from Notre Dame University and Oxford University, and her colleagues at Church Militant contend that this could not be further from the truth.
“The real bone of contention that MPDN has with Church Militant is not the spurious claims and lies it’s telling, but the positions we take on morality and decency,” the Catholic group said in a statement. “Church Militant is not a hate group; MPDN is the real hate group, trying to intimidate religious organizations into silence and shut down a conference meant to help men by fostering the virtues of humility, charity and sacrifice.” . . .
Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture at the Media Research Center, concurred that the religious outfit is hardly the “radical” one in this matter.
“The radical left is following the lead of the liberal media and attacking Church Militant. Now, even having a men’s conference on how to be good husbands and fathers generates liberal protests,” he said.

The Left is against marriage, against fatherhood, against Christianity. Everything good and decent in life, the Left is determined to destroy.

‘Lone Wolf’ Shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ Before Stabbing Police Officer in Flint Airport

Just another random coincidence:

Amor Ftouhi, a Canadian citizen originally from Tunisia, was identified as the “lone wolf” suspect accused of shouting “Allahu Akbar” before stabbing a police officer multiple times at an airport in Flint, Michigan.
The FBI is leading the incident into the attack that wounded police Lt. Jeff Neville. Neville is now in stable condition, although he initially in critical condition after the attack.
Ftouhi, 49, was identified at an early evening press conference. He is being charged with committing an act of violence at an airport, said David Lemisch, the acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. . . .
Ftouhi legally entered the United States through New York on June 16, the Detroit Free Press reports. . . .
Due in part to the suspect’s alleged utterance, the attack on Neville is being investigated as a possible terrorist attack. FBI officials called Ftouhi a “lone wolf attacker” during a news conference.
“The stabbing of a police officer at a Michigan airport on Wednesday is being investigated by the FBI as a possible terror attack,” Fox News reported.
The June 21 attack remains under investigation.
According to the criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the suspect, Amor Ftouhi, was also yelling about Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan during the attack. At one point he said, “you have killed people in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan and we are all going to die.”

Notice the collective blame mentality by which Ftouhi justified his attack, so that Americans generally are blamed for deaths of people in foreign countries — none of which, incidentally, is Ftouhi’s home country of Tunis — and therefore he, in his own mind, is authorized to commit violence against any American as retaliation. This tribal worldview is the essence of Islamic terrorism. All Muslims everywhere are encouraged by radicals to view themselves as engaged in a global jihad against the unbelievers of the West, most particularly the United States. Radical Islam promotes an identity based upon a sense of collective victimhood, which fosters a paranoid hostility toward all non-Muslims, a sense of permanent grievance that justifies violence as revenge.

This hateful ideology has been growing among Muslims for decades. I think back to the 1979 Iranian revolution and the hostage crisis as the real starting point of radical Islam, when defiant denunciations of America as “the Great Satan” characterized Ayatollah Khomeini’s ideology. The Ayatollah exploited a crude anti-American sentiment and his rhetoric tied together his regime with the anti-Israel hatred common among Muslims in the Middle East. Israel was the “Little Satan,” protected by the United States as the “Great Satan,” the Ayatollah preached, and so all of Israel’s enemies must also be enemies of the United States. While radical Islam has older historic roots than this (the Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928), it is from the era of the Iranian revolution that we can trace the explosive rise of anti-Americanism as a core element of a worldwide Muslim movement, even before the emergence of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda in the 1990s. This is how you get to the situation of a Tunisian immigrating to Canada, and then traveling to Flint, Michigan, to stab a policeman in the neck because of Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

What does an airport cop in Michigan have to do with Syria, and why should a Tunisian care anyway? Only an ideology of collective blame and collective victimhood can serve to rationalize such madness.

Sing this to the tune of “Old McDonald”:

Old Mohammad had a war, E-I-E-I-O!
And in this war he had a wolf, E-I-E-I-O!
With a lone wolf here
And a lone wolf there,
Here a wolf, there a wolf, everywhere a lone wolf.
Old Mohammad had a war, E-I-E-I-O!

To dismiss such attackers as “lone wolves” ignores the fact that they see themselves as soldiers in a worldwide Islamic army, attacking Americans in retaliation for grievances of all Muslims everywhere. These “lone wolves” have declared war against America, a war waged because the Koran commands them to fight the unbeliever. The only thing Americans can do to stop “lone wolves” from killing us is to stop letting them hide among us while they wait for the opportunity to strike. It is not “Islamophobia” to take this threat seriously. It is not paranoia (or racism) to notice the pattern of radical Islamic terrorism, and to wonder how many “lone wolves” are just biding their time in anticipation of the next shooting, the next stabbing, the next vehicular homicide rampage.

Islamic Terrorists Kill 7 in London Attack

CNN reports:

At least seven people have been killed and 48 injured in a terror attack in central London, with police shooting three suspected assailants dead.
The attack began late Saturday night, when a white van stuck pedestrians on London Bridge, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said in a statement.
The suspects then left the vehicle and “a number of people were stabbed, including an on-duty British Transport Police officer who was responding to the incident at London Bridge,” said Rowley. The officer received serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“Armed officers responded very quickly and bravely, confronting three male suspects who were shot and killed in Borough Market,” said Rowley. “The suspects had been confronted and shot by the police within eight minutes of the first call. The suspects were wearing what looked like explosive vests but these were later established to be hoaxes.”
Eyewitnesses reported panic as the incidents unfolded in the vicinity of a major transport hub and in an area packed with restaurants and bars. The London Ambulance Service said at least 48 people were taken to five hospitals, with many more treated at the scene.
The attacks came days before a general election and two weeks after 22 people were killed when a suicide bomber targeted an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. It was the third terrorist attack to strike the United Kingdom this year, after a man drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge in March.

Notice something missing? The word “Islam” does not appear in CNN’s story about this murderous attack, leaving the reader to wonder if perhaps radical Mormons or Lutheran extremists were responsible.

ISLAMIC TERROR: Salman Abedi Identified as Manchester Suicide Bomber

The London Telegraph reports:

The suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured dozens more at the Manchester Arena has been named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi.
Born in Manchester in 1994, the second youngest of four children his parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime.
His parents were both born in Libya but appear to have emigrated to London before moving to the Fallowfield area of south Manchester where they have lived for at least ten years.
They had three sons in total and a daughter, who is now 18-years-old.
Abedi grew up in the Whalley Range area, just yards from the local girl’s high school, which hit the headlines in 2015 when twins and grade A pupils, Zahra and Salma Halane, who were both aspiring medical students, left their homes and moved to [ISIS] controlled Syria.

(Via Memeorandum.)

UPDATE: The BBC reports:

Twenty-two people, including an eight-year-old girl, were killed and 59 injured when a suicide bomber attacked concertgoers at Manchester Arena.
A man set off a bomb in the foyer at 22:33 BST on Monday, at the end of a concert by Ariana Grande. . . .
Three victims have been named so far, the latest being 28-year-old John Atkinson from Bury, Greater Manchester.
Eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos was a pupil at Tarleton Primary School, in Lancashire.
Her head teacher, Chris Upton, said she had been “simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word” and was “loved by everyone”.
Student Georgina Callander, believed to have been 18, has also been named as among the dead.
She had been studying health and social care at Runshaw College in Leyland, Lancashire.

UPDATE II: The London Daily Mail reports:

Neighbours of British-born Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi have revealed the Manchester United fan’s ‘strange behaviour’ in the weeks before he slaughtered 22 people.
The 22-year-old Manchester-born attacker was heard ‘chanting Islamic prayers loudly in the street’ outside his home in the south of the city. . . .
ISIS this morning claimed responsibility and threatened further attacks, saying ‘one of the caliphate’s soldiers placed bombs within a gathering of the Crusaders’.
Police are trying to determine whether Abedi, a Manchester United fan who appears to have been radicalised within the last couple of years, acted alone or was part of a wider terror cell. . . .
One neighbour claimed they heard Abedi chanting Islamic prayers at the home just weeks before the concert hall atrocity. . . .
Lina Ahmed, 21, told MailOnline: ‘They are a Libyan family and they have been acting strangely.
‘A couple of months ago he [Salman] was chanting the first kalma [Islamic prayer] really loudly in the street. He was chanting in Arabic.
‘He was saying ‘There is only one God and the prophet Mohammed is his messenger’.’

Baptists Should Support The Gospel, Not Mosques. Period. Full Stop. EOF.

by Smitty

Another day, another dubious proposition: Why Baptists Should Support Muslims’ Right to Build Mosques.

Had the occasion this morning to overhear people trying to puzzle out what all the fuss surrounding the Wailing Wall, in the news due to President Trump’s visit. The Old Testament is essential to understanding the Middle East, even if it’s more a source of talking points than inspiration for the regional leadership. I offered the group a quick sketch, then felt awkward for having “outed myself as a Bible geek”. But it helps bring home the point: Baptists, as such, are focused on the Word.

Mohammed, Islam, et cetera, are of a tangential, comparative-religion interest (at best) in a Baptist context. When you follow “the Way, the Truth, and the Light”, all other considerations are pure Sweet Brown. Baptists, in the spiritual sense of what it means to follow Christ, shouldn’t spare a moment for any alternatives not captured in the New Testament.

On a less reactionary note, there is the Bill of Rights. Because we really don’t want a theocracy (Jesus having personally given politics the Full Sherman Plus), we expect our leaders to have a confession of some sort, but not preach it on the stump, much less force anyone to toe a line about baptism, the Lord’s Supper, etc. We have an intellectual (i.e. not spiritual) set of restraints on the Federal Government that apply well individually, too. We can evangelize non-verbally through positive acts, and verbally when the time is right.

As an American, I am free to avoid caring about groups of people building on private property, whether or not I join in the activity. If it’s a Mosque, so be it. Just so long as local zoning details are attended to. For a casual study of Islam as a religion, as a Baptist, the whole thing appears incoherent, and I pray that the Holy Spirit touch the hearts of Muslims everywhere and liberate them.

The hypocrisy of those who criticize interfaith alliances for common purposes, like the alliance in the New Jersey mosque case, is that while they accuse such coalitions of putting politics before God, their underlying motive is to use the government to bolster and secure the faith of their choice. In reality, they are dishonoring the Baptist tradition of religious liberty established by those before them.

There is no hypocrisy in supporting the Truth to the exclusion of the alternatives. There is vast concern that these various interfaith coalitions are nothing but a distraction from the Great Commission. Let us all compare our local church to the letters to the seven churches in Asia at the opening of The Revelation, and adjust accordingly. Are we tomcatting around on our first love? I’ll fall short of judging.

Again: make a Bill of Rights argument, not a religious one. I can’t follow Cline, as a Baptist. Faith and politics are orthogonal. Faith is of the Spirit; politics is just a pile of rotting flesh. Cline conflates the two at his peril.
