Illegal Alien Who Murdered Woman Had Exploited S.F. ‘Sanctuary City’ Policy
Posted on | July 7, 2015 | 32 Comments
Francisco Sanchez’s murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco last week was a result not only of the Obama administration’s failed immigration policy, but also of the city’s policy:
An undocumented immigrant suspected of killing a woman at a San Francisco pier said he chose the city for its sanctuary policies — that is, he knew San Francisco was a good place to avoid deportation, he told ABC station KGO-TV. . . .
Kate Steinle, 32, who was walking the pier with her father, was shot dead, authorities said, noting that Sanchez, 45, was arrested an hour later.
Sanchez, who was on probation in Texas at the time of the shooting, served time in federal prison for repeatedly sneaking back into the country, authorities said.
Sanchez told KGO-TV that he kept coming back to the country because he was “looking for jobs in the restaurant or roofing, landscaping, or construction.” He said he knew San Francisco was a sanctuary city where he would not be pursued by immigration officials.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had said in a statement that Sanchez was turned over to the San Francisco Police Department this past March on an outstanding drug warrant, and that the department requested that police notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody.
However, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department said that it had no “legal basis” to hold Sanchez based on a federal immigration detainer, according to the Associated Press.
“Let ’em in” (Democrat immigration policy) and “Turn ’em loose” (Democrat crime policy) operated in perfect synchronization to put this foreign criminal on that pier in San Francisco so that he could kill Kate Steine. The political power of the Democrat Party is crucially dependent on its support from the criminal element in society, and the party reciprocates that support by promoting policies favorable to criminals. Democrats look at dangerous criminals — thieves, burglars, drug addicts, sex perverts, illegal aliens like Francisco Sanchez — and sees a potential vote for Democrats. The party’s media operatives are assigned to do emotional feature stories that portray criminals as oppressed victims of society, generating sympathy for the vilest scum on the planet. Liberal media are always throwing a pity party for criminals, suggesting that these selfish antisocial misfits are suffering hardship — “social injustice!” — because of something (sexism, racism, whatever) that can be blamed on those Rich Greedy Hateful Republicans.
Once people buy into this Democrat perspective on crime, it becomes possible for them to view even the most depraved monster as a “victim of society.” The liberal sees a news story about a school teacher who had sex with a teenager and thinks, “Well, who are we to judge?” Likewise, the streets of Chicago have become a deadly a war zone — 203 people shot to death so far this year, another 1,115 wounded — and no Democrat voter in America ever seems to ask who is shooting whom, or wonders why this shocking rampage of violence continues in a city that has been governed by Democrats for decades:
A 7-year-old boy who was one of seven people shot to death in Chicago over the holiday weekend was the son of a gang leader with a lengthy arrest record, and police say the man’s refusal to cooperate with detectives highlights the city’s ongoing challenge to curb gang-related violence. . . .
[Police Superintendent Garry] McCarthy said that the bullet that struck Amari Brown in the chest “was meant for his father,” whom he described as a “ranking gang member” who had been arrested 45 times.
Antonio Brown’s refusal to cooperate with the investigation is a familiar hurdle for Chicago police that as of Monday had yet to capture a suspect in Amari’s death.
After Brown was arrested for gun possession last April, he was released on bail the next day, McCarthy said.
“Turn ’em loose!” — Democrat policies are aligned with Democrat electoral strategy, both requiring that this “ranking gang member” with 45 arrests on his record be allowed to roam the streets. You would be condemned as racist by Chicago Democrats if you argued in favor of the kind of tough law enforcement policies that would put a “ranking gang member” in prison for life. Never mind that the vast majority of crime victims in Chicago are the same race as criminals in Chicago. Also never mind that more or less everyone in Chicago — the gang members, the mayor, the police chief, the 203 people shot dead so far this year — is a Democrat. No, never mind any of that, because Democrats in the liberal media require you to believe that somehow all this death and mayhem is the fault of those Rich Greedy Hateful Republicans.
Blame Donald Trump! Only an evil Republican hater would say illegal aliens from Mexico are perpetrating crimes in America (that is, in addition to their presence here, which is in itself a crime), and everybody must condemn Trump! Meanwhile at the headquarters of the Chicago Democrat Conspiracy Against America:
The White House on Monday defended its immigration policies and blasted Republicans following the killing of a San Francisco woman — allegedly by an illegal immigrant.
When asked if the case was a failure of the administration’s enforcement policies, White House press secretary Josh Earnest chided Republicans for blocking a bipartisan immigration bill that would have boosted funding for border security.
“I recognize that people want to play politics with this,” Earnest said. “The fact is the president has done everything within his power to make sure that we’re focusing our law enforcement resources on criminals and those who pose a threat to public safety.”
Kathryn Steinle, 32, was shot and killed Wednesday at a popular tourist destination in San Francisco. The suspect, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, had multiple felony convictions and had been deported to Mexico five times.
Earnest faulted the “political efforts of Republicans” for blocking “the kind of investment that we would like to make in securing our border and keeping our communities safe.”
You see how this works? The more clearly a problem is the result of Democrat Party policies, the more vehemently Democrats blame the problem on those Rich Greedy Hateful Republicans.
No one can be employed in the media who doubts this pretzel logic. Therefore, if you turn your TV to CNN or NBC or CBS, or pick up the New York Times or the Washington Post, you will find that they either ignore the obvious facts that contradict Democrat Party propaganda or, more likely, they deliver the Democrat propaganda narrative without the slightest hint of skepticism. Nothing so trivial as truth can be allowed to prevent Democrats from “fundamentally transforming the United States of America,” a goal that the media intend to accomplish no matter how many people get killed in the process.
The really brilliant part: In places like Chicago, murderers vote Democrat and the people they killed? Yeah, they keeping voting Democrat, too. Dead people have the right to vote in Chicago, where the graveyards are full of registered Democrats.

Another Fourth of July weekend has come and gone, and dog owners across America breathe a sigh of relief that their critters won’t have to be doped up to get through the night. Unless, of course, the neighbors have a few M-80s left over from last night…anyway, this is the time of year when the young women like to don the Stars and Stripes in bikini form, but we’re a little more conservative here at The Other McCain, so for this week’s appetizer we’re going with a classic Gil Elvgren pinup.

Notice how this young lady eschews eye protection and a head-to-toe Nomex suit in favor of proper pyrotechnics training.
As usual, many of the following links lead to pictures not normally considered safe for work. In order to preserve your purity of essence (presuming your precious bodily fluids weren’t already contaminated this weekend) reader discretion is advised when clicking.
Leading off this weekend is Goodstuff, who lives up to his name (again!) by choosing Catherine Bach to host this week’s mega-blog. imNsho follows with 4th of July Rule 5, and Ninety Miles from Tyranny has Morning Mistress, Hot Pick of the Late Night: Raquel Welch (has cave girl content), and Girls with Guns. Animal Magnetism has Rule 5 Friday and Independence Day Totty, and First Street Journal has American (Female) Soldiers in Training.
This week, EBL brings us Rita Moreno, Diana Rigg, Our Sex(less) Future Rule 5, Dominion Day, Vintage Hollywood 4th of July, and yet more Vintage Hollywood 4th of July.
A View from the Beach checks in with Abigail Ratchford Wrapped in the Flag, Pretty Women Have the Power to Cloud Men’s Minds, I Blame Jenny McCarthy and RFK Jr., Where was YouTube When I Was Young?, Some Gigi to Start a Hot Day, So Where Did I Hide the Chocolate Bars?, No Contest, and Working in a Car Wash.
Proof Positive’s Friday Night Babe is Bryce Dallas Hamilton, his Vintage Babe is Bunny Yeager, and Sex In Advertising this week is covered by Guess. Also, Keep Hamilton On The $10! At Dustbury, it’s Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, and more Catherine Bach.
Thanks to everybody for their linkagery! Deadline to submit links to the Rule 5 Wombat mailbox for next week’s Rule 5 roundup is midnight on Saturday, July 11 – that’s midnight Pacific Time, three hours later than the deadline used to be.

Will anti-gay Christians be politically and socially ostracized? I sure hope so. Just as those orthodox Christians who still believe in strict, traditional gender roles have been increasingly mocked as absurd. Once upon a time, marriage constituted property—the wife was the literal property of the husband, and could not legally let alone culturally own anything of her own. The governing cultural norm was that women should be barefoot, pregnant and subservient.
Those norms were reinforced by religion, but our interpretation of religion, like the Constitution, is obviously influenced by contemporary conditions. We apply the Constitution to Internet regulations, even though the Founding Fathers definitely didn’t foresee such technological evolutions. And we demand our faith traditions stretch and grow as well.
Will those who pursue wisdom be ostracized for not acceding to the new foolishness? Well, fools gotta fool. But is their ostracism a concern? I guess I’m more saddened by Sally’s strawman argument concerning Christianity, and can only hope that she unburdens herself of these notions at a proper church.
…but our interpretation of religion, like the Constitution, is obviously influenced by contemporary conditions
Sally, Sally, Sally: we interact with Truth in a way that refines us toward it. The Truth is not some silly putty against which we emote. The ‘contemporary conditions’ in question mostly seems a bumper crop of fools. The last fifty years have led us through a broad gate, and down a wide way, that leads to destruction.
I hope for maximal mercy for you and everyone else, Sally. I also hope that you have a moment where you understand how thoroughly off base your ideas are.

Feminist Tumblr: Dreaming of Their Journey Across the Mytilini Strait
Posted on | July 5, 2015 | 85 Comments
Life is painful for the Tumblr feminist. Alone with her laptop, everything she encounters in her online existence tells her that males are stupid, dangerous and violent. Emotionally immersed in an estrogen-filled echo chamber of Internet activism, she finds feminists eager to offer sisterhood and solidarity — “You are not alone!” — along with constant confirmation of her worst fears and doubts about men. Surrounding herself with True Believers in this digital environment enables the young seeker to obtain “feminist consciousness,” which means learning “to see oneself as a victim” as Professor Sandra Bartky explained. Convinced that she is oppressed by the patriarchy, she begins to behold the world through warped lenses, seeing sexism in ordinary behavior and suspiciously scrutinizing every man she meets for evidence of the misogyny she is certain must be lurking inside him.
As she begins her consciousness-raising journey, we often find the young feminist naïvely wondering why everyone doesn’t support this movement. “What’s wrong with gender equality?” she asks. “Why don’t guys understand this? Why do these ignorant people keep saying feminism is against men?” One of her favorite actresses, like that girl from the Harry Potter movies, makes a pro-feminist statement full of bland slogans and quasi-inspirational gush suitable for a Hallmark greeting card, and the teenager on Tumblr is mystified that anyone could possibly be less enthusiastic than she is.
“Like, why don’t they get it? It’s about Equal Rights, you guys!” Oh, look here on Tumblr! She’s going to reblog a simple explanation:
WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
The naive young feminist at “Dust and Shadows” who reblogged that perhaps did not notice that the original source of the accompanying graphic, asserting feminism is not misandry (man-hating), was The Glitter Clit, a radical lesbian blogger.
We watch with amusement (or dismay) the progress of the young Tumblrina’s feminism over time, as she voyages farther and farther into this ideological sea. She becomes increasingly exasperated that the people who surround her in real life — parents and peers, family and friends — just don’t get it. In early June, “Dust and Shadows” was perplexed and outraged by this:
We smile at her apparent belief that, by the inclusion of additional exclamation points, she could overcome the doubters. She has committed herself to feminism because, hey, if Emma Watson says it’s cool, it must be awesome. It is impossible for her to comprehend that skeptics and critics of feminism have made a more accurate appraisal of the movement and its ideology. Adults who have watched the feminist movement for decades have their own reasons for rejecting it, even if they may not be able to articulate these reasons except by sarcastic jests. For example, we find that as a Yale University sophomore, the future famous “rape culture” crusader Alexandra Brodsky began a letter to the student newspaper by remarking that “my conservative dad calls me Comrade Brodsky” because she voted for Obama in 2008.
Most people who “actually say they are anti-feminist” — with or without Triple!!! Exclamation!!! Points!!! — have never bothered to devote much time to the study of the philosophy they reject. That is to say, anti-feminists (male or female) tend to be conservatives or libertarians who recognize feminism as a movement of the Left, and reject it categorically. Once you recognize certain common patterns about these kinds of movements (e.g., the “Occupy” protests of 2011), and develop a general dislike of radical egalitarianism, the rest is just details.
You’re a conservative and. once you know that the people supporting a particular movement are left-wing Democrats, your gut-hunch reaction is to oppose that movement. Your instinctive conservatism, however, does not supply you with the kind of information and arguments you need to explain to your daughter (who is too young to know what you know) why she should be skeptical toward feminist ideology. Maybe you should buy my book and maybe, if you ask your daughter to read a few recent posts in the “Sex Trouble” series, you could intellectually inoculate her against this dangerous radical virus.

Shameless self-promotion aside (this is a capitalist blog), there is a legitimate danger that adults who do not understand feminism will find themselves unprepared to effectively oppose feminism. This anti-male movement, having entrenched itself in the academic Feminist-Industrial Complex of university Women’s Studies programs, is currently in the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse resurgence. Everywhere we turn, we encounter wild-eyed fanatics ranting about “objectification” and “heteropatriarchy” and, of course, RAPE! RAPE! RAPE!
The young newcomer to feminism, who thinks she is supporting a movement about mere “equality,” would likely be shocked to encounter the vindicitve anti-male sadism of Jenika McCrayer, a graduate student of Women and Gender Studies who gleefully boasts that she “feels powerful” because she “makes heterosexual men cry.”
Why would anyone say such hateful things? Because inside the feminist echo chamber, this is all she ever hears and she becomes convinced that every man she meets is part of a conspiracy to oppress her, to discriminate against her, to deprive her of her rights, to rape her. She succumbs to a paranoid delusion — Fear and Loathing of the Penis!
It’s as if a clock begins ticking the minute she starts talking about “equality.” Soon she’ll be on Tumblr reblogging her intention to “Smash Patriarchy” or deliriously ranting on Twitter about her joy in making “heterosexual men cry.” Because dissent is forbidden on the contemporary campus and feminism’s critics are demonized as misogynists and “rape apologists,” the young feminist never confronts an informed and articulate skeptic of the movement. So it is with “Dust and Shadows,” the Tumblr blogger who in early June used Triple!! Exclamation!!! Points!!! to express her frustration that anyone could be against feminism. Scarcely three weeks after that post, however, the same young feminist had apparently surrendered to anti-male paranoia:
Oh, an island? You want to have an all-female island? A gynocracy ruled by your favorite feminist celebrities, a utopia where you will “be safe and happy,” nevermore to worry about all the “dangerous” men out there?
Yes, that island is legendary. Many feminists have made that metaphorical voyage because, as the late Professor Joyce Trebilcot explained, patriarchy “depends on the ability of men to control women through heterosexuality.” Once she is convinced that “male supremacy” makes every man her oppressor, how can a feminist ever respect a man or trust a man? If trust and respect are impossible, then how can any feminist ever be expected to love a man? She began her journey ignorantly parroting slogans about “equality” and “rights” and did not realize what the movement would ultimately require of her.
“Lesbians are the women who potentially can demonstrate life outside the male power structure that dominates marriage as well as every other aspect of our culture. Thus, the lesbian movement is not only related to women’s liberation, it is at the very heart of it.”
— Sidney Abbott and Barbara Love, “Is Women’s Liberation a Lesbian Plot?” in Woman in Sexist Society: Studies in Power and Powerlessness, edited by Vivian Gornick and Barbara Moran (1971)
Bon voyage and farewell! Depart! Set sail! Let no man delay or hinder you as you board the ship bound across the Mytilini Strait to that fabled place near the coast of Asia Minor! Just as soon as a young woman decides she is a victim of male oppression, she should buy a one-way ticket to that Aegean isle. If ever any man loved her, his love was wasted, for once she reached “feminist consciousness,” she could feel nothing but horror and contempt for him. Thus, like so many others before her, she will “demonstrate life outside the male power structure.” The young feminist may plan her trip and anticipate the sites she’ll see when she arrives Lesbos. Yet this is not the last stop on her journey.
When she reaches her final destination, the feminist may convey my salutations to those who have gone before her. Valerie Solanis (1936-1988), Mary Daly (1928-2010), Andrea Dworkin (1948-2006), Joyce Trebilcot (1935-2009), Joanna Russ (1937-2011), Julia Penelope (1941-2013) and alas, poor Sidney Abbott (1937-2015), who died in a fire.
They left behind no children to mourn their deaths, and it is to be doubted many men ever missed them. So when someday the young feminist is united with her glorious predecessors beyond the grave, she will congratulate them on their success. Where they are now, no mortal man may oppress them, and everyone is equal in Hell.

For every Southern boy fourteen years old, not once but whenever he wants it, there is the instant when it’s still not yet two oclock on that July afternoon in 1863, the brigades are in position behind the rail fence, the guns are laid and ready in the woods and the furled flags are already loosened to break out and Pickett himself with his long oiled ringlets and his hat in one hand probably and his sword in the other looking up the hill waiting for Longstreet to give the word and it’s all in the balance, it hasn’t happened yet, it hasn’t even begun yet, it not only hasn’t begun yet but there is stll time for it not to begin against that position and those circumstances which made more men than Garnett and Kemper and Armstead and Wilcox look grave yet it’s going to begin, we all know that, we have come too far with too much at stake and that moment doesn’t need even a fourteen-year-old boy to think This time. Maybe this time with all this much to lose and all this much to gain: Pennsylvania, Maryland, the world, the golden dome of Washington itself to crown with desperate and unbelievable victory the desperate gamble, the cast made two years ago…. – William Faulkner

Zoe Ridolfi-Starr (@ZoeRidolfiStarr) is a liar and a feminist, but I repeat myself. A recent graduate of Columbia University (annual tuition $51,008), Ms. Ridolfi-Starr is an enthusiastic supporter of her classmate Emma Sulkowicz, whose false rape accusation against Paul Nungesser led to his filing a federal lawsuit against Columbia. Ms. Ridolfi-Starr bragged to the Columbia student paper of her accomplishments as the university’s “friendly neighborhood angry feminist”:
Organized to fight gender-based violence on campus, founder of No Red Tape. Helped create the Prison Resistance and Education Project and the Books Not Bars programs for incarcerated youth. Worked for reproductive justice on campus, got free emergency contraception provided at Health Services, and secured the creation of the Columbia Emergency Health Fund to subsidize, among other things, abortions.
What is “No Red Tape”? It’s about depriving male students of due process rights, so they can be expelled merely on the basis of an accusation, under the guise of “fighting sexual violence and rape culture at Columbia University.”
Ms. Ridolfi-Starr was the lead plaintiff in a federal complaint filed by 23 Columbia students against the university in April 2014:
The complaint alleges the Ivy League university discouraged students from reporting sexual assaults, allowed perpetrators to remain on campus, sanctioned inadequate disciplinary actions for perpetrators and discriminated against students based on their sexual orientation . . .
The students’ statement described the complaint in detail, but the group refused to release any copies, saying it wanted to protect those who do not want their names publicized. As a policy, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights does not release information to the public until after a formal investigation has been opened into a complaint.
“Columbia is more willing to silence and punish survivors and their supporters than serial rapists,” the students said in their statement. . . .
Zoe Ridolfi-Starr, a Columbia junior and lead complainant, told CNN on Friday that activists from universities across the country offered plenty of advice and support to the group, saying, “It’s absolutely a national issue.”
Ridolfi-Starr said she was sexually assaulted the summer after her freshman year at Columbia and said the primary goal of the complaint is to pressure the university to make reforms.
We are expected to take seriously the claim that brilliant young scholars at one of the most prestigious universities in the world — a school that admits fewer than 7% of those who apply — are brutal sex predators who perpetrate heinous assaults with such frequency that a “rape culture” prevails on the Columbia campus?
Excuse me if I take note of the distinct aroma of bovine excrement exuding from such claims. Sure, it’s possible that some of these National Merit Scholars and valedictorians are degenerate psychopaths. We must remember that the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, is a Harvard alumnus, so it is possible that some of these young brainiacs at Columbia are sunk into the depths of depravity. However, does anyone really believe that any significant number of rapists are to be found among bookish fellows whose parents pay more than $50,000 a year to send them to Columbia?
And while we’re at it, does anyone actually believe Zoe Ridolfi-Starr is a “sexual assault survivor”? If officials at Columbia University didn’t believe her, why should we? But we find this stated as a fact:
Colleges might soon be required to report cases of sexual assault to local law enforcement agencies.
Virginia, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey have all created preliminary versions of bills that will call for more collaboration between schools and police departments around the issue of campus rape. . . .
However, victims of sexual assault find the new proposal problematic. “If a survivor comes forward and says, ‘Hey I need help, I want to get this guy out of my classes,’ that’s very different from saying, ‘I want to involve myself in a lengthy arduous legal process,'” sexual assault survivor Zoe Ridolfi-Starr said.
Where is the documentation of this “sexual assault” of which Ms. Ridolfi-Starr is a “survivor”? She says she was assaulted, but what actually happened? Can we see the affidavits? While I don’t presume to know the truth of this matter, shouldn’t we be suspicious of people who claim to be victims of serious crimes, but don’t want police to investigate those alleged crimes? And how is it that Ms. Ridolfi-Starr has time to file a federal complaint against her university, but doesn’t have time for the “arduous legal process” of filing a police report about a sexual assault?
The stench of bovine excrement grows ever more noxious, when you realize that complaints like Ms. Ridolf-Starr’s are being employed as emotional leverage to pressure legislators into enacting laws that re-define rape on college campuses. Under the “affirmative consent” regime, every male college student who engages in heterosexual activity on campus is at risk of being expelled from school because if she says she was raped, the accused male will be required to prove that she consented. Exactly how does one prove such a thing? “Affirmative consent” policy shifts the burden of proof, requiring the male student to prove a negative (that it was not rape) and thereby effectively strips him of his due process rights, so if his ex-girlfriend gets mad at him — adios, amigo! Expelled. You’re guilty. You’re a rapist because she said so.
Oh, but don’t get the police involved. Ms. Ridolfi-Starr co-authored a column arguing against investigating rape as a crime:
As survivors of sexual violence and advocates for safe, just campuses, we know these efforts would harm students.
These proposals that effectively require survivors to engage with the criminal justice system fail to grasp the function of the campus system. Schools have a legal requirement under Title IX to protect all students’ ability to access education without fear of gender discrimination, including sexual and dating violence.
Campus processes are designed to focus on what student survivors need in order to continue their education, and are better equipped to help survivors address concrete and often urgent needs that can result from gender-based violence.
“Survivors,” “survivors,” “survivors” — they keep repeating this word as if by repetition they prove what they merely claim.
As for a student’s “ability to access education,” feminists are advocating for policies to deny such access to male students, to have males expelled from colleges on the basis of accusations for which the accuser is not required to offer any evidence whatsoever, in a process that denies the accused male student the legal protections accorded to any common criminal. Any male student who would have sex with a female student under such circumstances is probably too stupid to be among the 7% of applicants admitted to Columbia University.
These policies are about criminalizing sex, period.
Feminists like Zoe Ridolfi-Starr have become accustomed to getting away with dishonesty for so long that they never expect anyone to call them on their bullshit. But some people say Zoe Ridolfi-Starr lies about rape, and until she can prove she’s telling the truth, I’ll call her a liar.
Please sue me, you liar.
Feminist "rape culture" rhetoric is about teaching young women to fear and hate men, creating a climate that inspires false accusations.
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) June 28, 2015
Any real decline in the incidence of rape will inspire feminists to expand the definition of rape, thus to justify their anti-male rhetoric.
