Via Instapundit, we have a Boston Herald editorial wherein Pseudajawea the Motorcyle Godess tries to say that, because Todd Akin (R) said Something Dumb, and all Republicans think alike, and Scott Brown is (OMG!) a Republican, that Scott Brown is liable for Todd Akin’s comments:

“Scott Brown and other Republicans want to pretend Todd Akin is an isolated individual, but he is clearly in line with the Republican agenda,” Warren said in a statement.

But what triggered this post was:

This is how low Liz Warren is willing to go, how much of her own dignity she’s willing to destroy, just to — as her campaign put it in a fundraising mailer — “win back Ted Kennedy’s seat.”

Maybe we should pity Warren; she seems to think that conservatives, have a Borg-like thought process. Conservatives no more think exactly alike than conservatives think that Senate seats are linked to any specific occupant. Bless her heart, she may not be capable of conceiving of liberty and independent thought. If only Ezra Klein had not succeeded in convincing Warren that the Constitution is too old to understand.

‘Free Speech’ Causes Syphilis

One of the brilliant — and by “brilliant,” of course, I mean evil — innovations of 1960s-era liberalism was the Supreme Court’s invention of a Constitutional protection of pornography. We scarcely can imagine what George Mason and other Founders might have said if they had been told, in 1789, that the First Amendment would be used to justify the commercial distribution of Naughty Nurses 3 and such.

That thought came to mind when I read this Los Angeles Times story:

Jolted by the possibility of a syphilis outbreak among its ranks, a Los Angeles-based trade group that represents the adult film industry announced a nationwide moratorium on X-rated productions while more than 1,000 porn performers are tested.
The Free Speech Coalition issued the call on its website after reporting that one performer tested positive for syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease, and had begun notifying sexual partners of that information.
The moratorium was announced Saturday, a day after Los Angeles County’s Public Health Department said it was investigating a cluster of possible syphilis cases within the porn industry. The agency said it had received reports of at least five cases involving adult performers within a week.

Porn stars have a First Amendment right to transmit those diseases! How dare any group calling itself the “Free Speech Coalition” infringe the constitutional protection of these diseases which are, after all, a natural expression of the biological order?

If the First Amendment guarantees an exhibitionist’s right to commit sodomy for profit, why doesn’t it protect the rights of viruses and bacteria?

I’m looking to catch 2016: Obama’s America this Friday night with the Alexandria Tea Party. Instapundit links Hollywood Reporter:

An anti-Obama documentary based on conservative author Dinesh D’Souza’s book The Roots of Obama’s Rage will expand nationwide this weekend after doing notable business in select markets across the country — including in liberally minded New York City.

So let’s all get out there and watch this flick and quantify precisely #OccupyResoluteDesk precisely how much we love him. Negative numbers are acceptable.

Kids! What’s the Matter With Kids Today?

Why can’t they be like we were, perfect in every way?

Actually, as Bush-era “brand damage” fades amid the grim reality of Obama-ism — hey,  the economy sucks, right? — the kids are starting to figure this stuff out. In 2008, exit polls showed the Republicans lost the under-30 vote by more than a 2-to-1 margin (66%-32%), but as Ed Driscoll says, it’s not 2008 anymore. Obama has clearly lost support among under-30 voters:

Pollster John Zogby of JZ Analytics told Secrets Tuesday that Romney received 41 percent in his weekend poll of 1,117 likely voters, for the first time crossing the 40 percent mark. . . .
“This is the first time I am seeing Romney’s numbers this high among 18-29 year olds,” said Zogby. “This could be trouble for Obama who needs every young voter he can get.”

Cheryl Voted for Obama in 2008, But …

. . . this time in New Hampshire? Not so much:

Governor Romney challenged each member of the crowd to speak to one Obama voter to convince them to change their minds this time around.
The visuals were excellent and it seemed hard work of the volunteers paid off. My interviews after the event suggested an energized crowd, but the most significant moment was an interview with a newly retired schoolteacher named Cheryl from Nashua New Hampshire.
Cheryl was an Obama voter, a former teacher who had never gone to a Romney event before. She left as a Romney voter. I asked her per, Gov Romney’s challenge, what she would say to a fellow 2008 Obama voter to persuade them to change their vote her answer was telling:
“All they have to do is listen carefully, there is so much negativity and there is no message in negativity.”
Her dissatisfaction, more than any successfully staged event is the greatest danger to the election prospects of this administration.

Twenty Thousand Muslims Expected to Attend Democrat Convention in Charlotte

What could possibly go wrong?

Starting at the end of this month the Democratic National Convention will open with a focus on Islam. 20,000 Muslims are expected to attend according to the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), the national Muslim American non-profit coordinating the two days of events they claim are non-political. ”Jumah at the DNC” begins August 29 and will start with a Friday afternoon jummah prayer followed by other unnamed programs and events, leading up to the Islamic Regal Banquet. The following day will be an all day Islamic Cultural and Fun Fest which will include discussions on the topics of Islamaphobia, Anti-Shariah, Middle Eastern Crisis, Patriot Act, National Defense Authorization Act and more.

Your stimulus dollars at work:

The Labor Department paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal stimulus funds to a public relations firm to run more than 100 commercials touting the Obama administration’s “green training” job efforts on two MSNBC cable shows, records show.
The commercials ran on MSNBC on shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in 2009, but the contract didn’t report any jobs created, according to records reviewed recently by The Washington Times.
Spending reports under the federal Recovery Act show $495,000 paid to McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC, which the Labor Department hired to raise awareness “among employers and influencers about the [Job Corps] program’s existing and new training initiatives in high growth and environmentally friendly career areas” as well as spreading the word to prospective Job Corps enrollees.
