Dan Riehl, quite bravely announced his heterosexuality to the world. Perhaps he was motivated by Anderson Cooper. I would just like the world to know that I, too, am every bit the heterosexual monogamist one would expect by default. What can I say? I’m to lazy to tomcat about. Also, form follows function. There is a certain obvious, cause/effect nature to it all. It tickles the engineer in me that things work about as you would expect. Call it common sense.

I suppose I can understand perversion; the need to turn something on its head. I once coded some Visual Basic modules inside of an MS Access application to think that they were the Server, Request, and Response objects for Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). That’s pre .Net code, for you whipper snappers. Then there was this really tortured, nested VBA.Replace() call through which all of the code modules passed while being pushed out to .vbs files, so that the VBA could execute as VBScript on the web server. Think of it as a sex change.

But that’s source code. Silly putty. Can I translate wild software hijinks into the 120 Days of Sodom? Nah. I’m too boring.

Relationships are about relaxation. Lowering stress. My marriage is a refuge, a retreat from a broken, wacky world. The little boy who turns 1 year old this month is a refreshment and renewal.

That’s about it. Just wanted to come out and say, to those who insist on trying it every way under the sun: judge the tree by the fruit. And if your approach lacks even the potential for fruit, it is possible that you’re going about it incorrectly. At little self-judgement is a key ingredient to improvement.

Brandon Darby Defamed by Kimberlin Associate Neal Rauhauser; Pursues ‘All Legal Remedies’ Against SWATting Charge

Breitbart.com columnist Brandon Darby plans to pursue a defamation lawsuit against a Democratic political consultant who accused Darby of perpetrating so-called “SWATtings” that have targeted several conservative activists in the past year.

Darby says that Neal Rauhauser falsely accused him of involvement in SWATtings, a dangerous type of illegal hoax that results in armed law enforcement raids against innocent individuals. News of Rauhauser’s accusation, and of Darby’s planned response, was announced today in a press release from the National Bloggers Club.

“Darby is being defamed by this dangerous, bizarre fringe activist because he has dared to speak the name ‘Brett Kimberlin,’ is a member of the National Bloggers Club, and associated with Andrew [Breitbart],” the Club’s president Ali Akbar said in the press release (full text below).

Kimberlin, a convicted domestic terrorist who founded two progressive non-profit organizations, has repeatedly filed lawsuits and other legal complaints against bloggers who wrote about Kimberlin’s criminal past. In May, blogger Aaron Walker was arrested after a Maryland hearing in a case involving Kimberlin. Walker was also the target of a SWATting last month.

Rauhauser is a political operative who co-founded the Democrat consulting firm Progressive PST. Rauhauser has described Kimberlin as a “client” and, in e-mails and blog comments, represented himself as an agent of Kimberlin’s non-profit 501(c)4 group, Velvet Revolution.

Akbar said that the National Bloggers Club will “encourage Darby to use all legal remedies in this clear case of defamation,” including the possibility of “pursuing criminal conspiracy” charges against Rauhauser.

UPDATE: Rauhauser’s association with Kimberlin apparently began a year ago, after Rauhauser became obsessed with the cybersex scandal involving Rep. Anthony Weiner, which forced the formerly popular New York Democrat to resign from Congress.

Mike Stack, a New Jersey man who played a role in exposing the so-called WeinerGate scandal, was SWATted in June 2011. A week later, Patrick Frey (who had written extensively about the Weiner case) was SWATted at his Los Angeles home. Red State editor Erick Erickson, who had written about the Kimberlin case, reported that he was SWATted in May, and Aaron Walker was SWATted June 25 after he won a Maryland courtroom victory against Kimberlin. Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Texas Rep. Kenny Marchant and more than 85 House Republicans called on Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the SWATtings.

UPDATE II: Kimberlin’s Velvet Revolution non-profit gained publicity after the 2004 election by leveling accusations of vote-rigging by Republicans. A January 2007 Time magazine article noted that Kimberlin had “found a home in the blogosphere” by “repeatedly asserting as fact things that are not true.” Kimberlin’s organization has also made charges of criminal wrongdoing against such public figures as GOP political strategist Karl Rove, U.S. Chamber of Commerce president Tom Donohue and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

In October 2010, Kimberlin was the subject of a 3,600-word feature article by Breitbart.com contributor Mandy “Liberty Chick” Nagy. Subsequently, Kimberlin threatened to sue both Nagy and Patrick “Patterico” Frey, and filed a lawsuit against progressive blogger Seth Allen, who had been an outspoken critic of Kimberlin and Velvet Revolution at several liberal Web sites.

Kimberlin became the subject of widespread interest last month after Aaron Walker published a 28,000-word account describing how he says Kimberlin tried to “frame” him for assault. On May 29, Walker was briefly arrested after a Maryland court hearing in which Judge C.J. Vaughey ruled that Walker’s blogging constituted a violation of a peace order obtained by Kimberlin. Judge Vaughey’s ruling has been widely denounced as an infringement of First Amendment rights, and is being appealed in both Maryland and federal courts.

Akbar continued, “Darby is being defamed by this dangerous, bizarre fringe activist because he has dared to speak the name “Brett Kimberlin,” is a member of the National Bloggers Club, and associated with Andrew. Andrew associated himself with the Bloggers Club, I’ll associate the Club with Darby any day of the week.”
SWATting is the term used to describe the illegal use of technology to place an untraceable emergency call to falsely report a serious, violent crime. The caller typically gives the emergency dispatcher the address and personal information belonging to the victim, claiming that people in the house have been shot and that the caller is armed inside the home. By protocol, law enforcement then sends armed officers to the scene. Last week, after winning a courtroom victory in Maryland against Kimberlin, blogger Aaron Walker was targeted by a SWATting call that sent police to his Virginia home.
“Thank God no one has been killed as a result of SWATting — yet. I strongly believe the continued use of these tactics will result in a horrible tragedy — which is exactly what the perpetrators want,” said Akbar.

Freedom Is Under Attack: Help the National Bloggers Club Fight Back

Several Twitter accounts associated with the Brett Kimberlin/Neal Rauhauser axis unleashed a torrent of attacks yesterday against Ali Akbar and the National Bloggers Club. Exactly what prompted those attacks, I’m not sure, but the National Bloggers Club has given important support to Aaron Walker in his defense against Kimberlin’s “lawfare” harassment and now — a little birdie tells me — the Club is preparing to counterattack.

At the end of a post yesterday, I gave you a tiny hint of what’s coming, and will soon be able to tell you more.

For now, I urge you to contribute to the National Bloggers Club: $10, $20, $50 — whatever you can give, it’s for a good cause.

Tomorrow is Independence Day. Fight for your freedom.

The Vulgar Left’s ObamaCare Arguments

Regulating commerce; the power to tax. Whatever. Somebody get ahold of Jake Tapper and have him ask that miserable twerp Carney: “How is it not fundamentally dishonest that the Administration cannot make a clear, simple, straightforward case for ObamaCare and just put it out there?” The administration has tacked and jibed over the last 2.5 years with enough agility to make Dennis Connor seem a slouch. Even the heavyweights like Hinderaker get sucked into the petty details of how, with enough mental gymnastics, we can contort ObamaCare into something akin to a policy, and deal with it as such. Fine. Full court press.

Step back though and consider what a fundamentally dishonest enterprise ObamaCare has been. Truly, it represents how un-forthright (forthleft?) Barack Obama and the entire Progressive movement have been. And we all know that, for all the resources they’ve sunk into ObamaCare, they don’t even really give two hoots about it: it’s another brick in the wall leading to single payer.

Let this blog post be a hearty “get stuffed” to the administration and the lying liars that support it. Take your arguments and return them to Hell. If you tried to run a business with your snaky approach to, well, anything, you’d be bankrupt overnight. But we live in an age where craven thieves connected to the aristocracy of pull just get bailed out with fake money issued by an illegitimate government in a decadent age.

Think I’ll let this go while it’s still brief and family-friendly. Get pissed, people, and let’s put the November election past the margin of fraud.

If the Strauss & Howe Generations Theory is correct, we are already in a historical process that will culminate in an existential crisis for the United States of America, most likely a Depression-like financial collapse (already in progress), a violent revolution, a global war, or some combination of the three – possibly all of them. I can easily see a pathway to all of them from where we are now.

I think the Internet marks the nadir of Progressivism. Sure financial collapse, but I don’t see how anybody sustains anything like a global war. Even the regional fisticuffs like Afghanistan are a substantial strain.

“Americans, we live in a world that has entitlements, and those entitlements have to be guarded by bureaucrats, with legislation. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Mr. Teapartier? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom.
You weep for Liberty, and you curse the Progressives. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Liberty’s death, while tragic, probably saved government positions. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves government positions.
You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want those entitlements, you need those entitlements. You tell one-word jokes like ‘honor’; ‘code’; ‘loyalty’.
We use these words as the backbone of a life spent extending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very entitlements that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide them. I would rather you just said: ‘Thank you’, and went on your way.
Otherwise, I suggest you crack open a .doc, and start finding ways to extend Progress. Either way, I don’t give a damn what Liberty you think you are entitled to.”
