What beliefs predict A Tea Partier? This is Ezra Klein’s title for regurgitating a slur from the gray, room temperature lady.

So what do Tea Partiers have in common? They are overwhelmingly white, but even compared to other white Republicans, they had a low regard for immigrants and blacks long before Barack Obama was president, and they still do.

More important, they were disproportionately social conservatives in 2006 — opposing abortion, for example — and still are today.

Restated, Tea Partiers are post-racial and anti-murder. Because those are somehow bad things.
Klein makes a feint at responsibility:

Perhaps there’s some reason to disbelieve [the NYT] data.

Well, for starters, Ezra, it is quoted by a known propaganda-monger–YOU.

Tell you what, Ezra: when the Tea Parties crank up the peaceful protests next year, let’s have your scrawny self on down to meet the shockingly well-informed lumpen proletariat. You’re going to be shocked and awed to discover that they are nice, relaxed; focused in their indignation.

I suspect that you are a coward, Ezra. Physically, intellectually, morally. I don’t think you’re packing the gear to come out and discover, first hand, the truth that would shatter the falsehoods you peddle. And I want to be wrong in my theory. I want to meet you at a Tea Party, apologize personally, celebrate liberty, protest liberal fascism, and then buy you dinner. I’m guessing you’re a two-legged rabbit, but willing to look past that and become a decent acquaintance. Real friendship  is something you can’t presume.

Give it some thought.

Malkin Not Keen on ‘Governor Gardasil’

The Boss went after Rick Perry for imposing mandatory vaccination with Gardasil on 12-year-old girls. Gardasil protects against human pappiloma virus (HPV, genital warts) and, at the time of the 2007 decision, social conservatives were outraged by the idea of requiring that girls so young be vaccinated against a sexually transmitted disease. Libertarians were outraged at the mandatory aspect of the requirement. Perhaps the worst part was that it appeared Perry was acting corruptly, as a favor to lobbyists for the vaccine manufacturer, Merck.

In response to this criticism, Streiff at Red State wrote a post about “the bad faith and dishonest arguments being made in regards to this decision. Unfortunately, people I have previously had some respect for have checked their integrity and intellect at the door on this subject” — and linked Malkin, thus accusing her of a lack of “integrity and intellect”!

Dan Riehl demanded that Red State’s Erick Erickson apologize for that.

Amid all this friendly-fire action, The Right Perspective recalled my own gut-hunch reaction to the Perry campaign’s roll-out: “I felt a need to put on the record my instinctive sense that there’s something fundamentally wrong about the Perry campaign . . . . Some kind of catastrophe will result, one way or another.”

I took a lot of flak for saying that at the time, but if Perry is so self-evidently the GOP Dream Candidate for 2012, why are Jeb Bush, Bill Bennett and John Boehner urging Paul Ryan to get in the race? I don’t know.

What I do know is that a lot of conservatives seem to have doubts about Perry’s candidacy, and that these doubts aren’t getting much media notice amid all the hype about the alleged Dream Candidate.

The Justice Department is investigating whether the nation’s largest credit ratings agency, Standard & Poor’s, improperly rated dozens of mortgage securities in the years leading up to the financial crisis, according to two people interviewed by the government and another briefed on such interviews.

Working hard, trying to muster some surprise.

From the thugs that policitize education and refuse to do the right thing about Gunwalker, this is sickeningly par for the course.

I badly want to hear from GOP candidates precisely how they intend to go through the DOJ with pliers and a blowtorch after the next election. Also, the rest of the Executive Branch. Whichever candidate has the better-detailed plan for reforming this decadent situation will likely garner the best support.

While not the only leprous portion of the Executive, ‘Nation of Cowards’ Holder has one of the most despicable records in the whole rogue’s gallery of this Administration, and merits a thorough shaming for the anti-American behavior that has occurred on his watch.

Mr. Holder, you are truly a piece of work.

Say hello to Soya Keaveney, shown in a bikini photo she posed for at age 12, when the British girl was featured in a July 2008 magazine article:

Wearing a skimpy bikini and flaunting herself in an overtly sexual manner, Soya looks every bit the wannabe glamour model. . . .
Soya never goes out without putting on eyeliner and mascara, although once at school she’s often told to remove it by her teachers. Shockingly, she also frequently wears padded bras, short skirts, cropped tops, high heels and fishnet tights.

And now, the sequel:

A SCHOOLGIRL who posed aged 12 for controversial bikini pictures in a magazine is now pregnant at 15 — to the joy of her mum. . . .
Soya got pregnant by a 17-year-old boyfriend who is allowed by Janis to stay overnight at the family home.
Jobless single mum Janis, 48, said she was delighted because the council will now have to give her a bigger house. . . .
She added: “Our three-bedroom place was already overcrowded with her sisters Coco and Ritzy, her brother Tarot, Soya’s boyfriend Jake and one of her sister’s babies.
“Once the new baby comes the council will have to find us a place with four or five bedrooms. . . .
“I’m sure she’ll make a wonderful mum and will teach her children discipline like I have.”

So “mum” Janis, 48, has apparently never had a husband or a job, and lives with her four children, one of them already herself a mother and the other now pregnant by the 17-year-old boyfriend whom Janis permitted to spend the night in their 3-bedroom public housing apartment. All of this social pathology is subsidized by the British taxpayer!

MY MONEY’S ON SANTORUM: Pawlenty’s Gone, So Who’ll Be The Next Republican To Fold?

Having covered Rick Santorum in Iowa, and having met his supporters, I know that he’s nowhere near dropping out. As he told me after our interview Saturday in Ames, they’ve run their entire campaign so far on about $600,000 in contributions and, according to Santorum’s staff, their online donations have increased since last Thursday’s debate. Here’s the debate exchange between Santorum and Ron Paul about Iran:

The thing about that is, both Santorum and Paul “won” that exchange in the eyes of their own supporters. And if Santorum’s hard-core supporters are not nearly as numerous or as vocal as Paul’s famously fanatical fans, they are still in a position to keep Santorum’s low-budget campaign going with contributions of $20, $50, $100. Santorum has got a solid base of support among pro-life Catholics, who are likely to continue making small donations regularly well into next year, because they feel it is very important to have “their guy” on the debate stage — and on the ballot — so that he can keep voicing their views. Those supporters were cheering when Santorum didn’t flinch on a tough abortion question:

Finishing fourth in the Ames Straw Poll with 1,657 votes, Santorum spent a lot less per vote than did Bachmann, whose ads were all over Iowa TV in the two weeks leading up to the straw poll, while Santorum wasn’t advertising at all. Steve Ertelt of LifeNews.com says “with the Republican presidential race partly becoming an expectations game, Santorum gets a boost by performing much better than expected.”

Jennifer Rubin featured Santorum today in the Washington Post, and the Santorum campaign released a video touting their fourth-place straw-poll finish as evidence of gathering momentum:

So any expectation that Santorum will quit is clearly mistaken. If I were asked which candidate will drop out next, I’d say Newt Gingrich. He has never recovered from his million-dollar Tiffany’s bill, his Aegean cruise and his mass staff exodus, and likely never will.

The last thing our country needs right now is a president who can’t make up her mind or make tough decisions. As Americans, we live in perilous times and what we need is real leadership. Republicans really have a chance to win the White House in 2012. We don’t need to be distracted by Sarah Palin’s attention-seeking antics anymore, unless of course she actually decides to stop flirting and finally make a move to announce her candidacy.

The feds bought the two coaches for $2.2 million from Hemphill Brothers Coach, based in Tennessee. It installed custom interior upgrades into the Prevost shell, which accounted for about half the cost.
The contract lists the country of origin as Canada and place of manufacture as “outside U.S. – Trade Agreements,” a possible reference to the North American Free Trade Agreement.
