So now I’ve got the blogospheric equivalent of a “Jerry Springer Show” episode in the comments of a two-week-old post that I just put up as a bit of weekend snark. But I guess it goes to show the unpredictable nature of online viral phenomena.
Well, this yammering continued — now 500+ comments — entirely unheeded until today when I received an e-mail “cease and desist” notice:

We are very pleased to announce that on April 27, 2010 Blaze Records USA has been granted an injunction to file a National Class Action Lawsuit on behalf of Blaze Records USA and the Artist’s that it represents.
Over the past eight months, Blaze Records USA and the Artist’s in which it represents, has endured continues harassment, slander and defamation of character from several individuals and companies.
During the past eight months, the Blaze Records USA Internet Security Team has collected and documented over 6,000 pages of evidence related to this case. They have also collected and documented over 400 cases of Copyright Infringement and Trademark Violations from several individuals.
A legal advisory panel consisting of 11 Attorney’s, 4 Judges and several law enforcement officials has been assembled to ensure the handling of this case and to seek justice for all parties who’s legal rights have been violated.
Both Civil and Criminal charges will be filed against all persons involved and will be filed in the following states: Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Florida, Texas, Idaho, Tennessee, Georgia, and New Jersey.
Insuring the rights and safety of Blaze Records USA Artist’s, is and will continue to be a priority and this behavior, will not be tolerated nor taken lightly.
Any and all questions or concerns with this issue should be brought to our attention and will be immediately addressed as a priority and handled with confidentiality. . . .

Does anybody else find it strange that this record company (which nobody ever heard of) should employ both a “Legal Affairs Department” and an “Internet Security Team”? Since they can afford all that stuff, maybe they should also invest in a halfway decent Web site.

I find it funny that Blaze claims to have music available on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and eight other sites…but if you do a simple search these sites for Blaze Records or ANY of his ‘artists’, guess what you find? I find it funny that Blaze claims to have music available on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and eight other sites…but if you do a simple search these sites for Blaze Records or ANY of his ‘artists’, guess what you find? NOTHING! So for the moment let’s pretend that Blaze is a real record label, wouldn’t a real record label, even a tiny one, have the music of their artists readily available for downloads? I mean cmon, IT’S FREE!!!
The very simple fact is this…Blaze has never produced anything that has made a dime. EVER!

Blaze records has done wonders for her career, she has almost 15,000 views on her YouTube video, lets see you other “so called” promoters do that… I am an up and coming artist and i will be contacting Blaze asap to try and get them to promote me. As for Champagne, if you or someone from blaze is here to read this.. I have a request, can you do a remake of “Edge of a Broken Heart” by Vixen.. I think you would totally rock that song, maybe shoot the video on a train track? oooh or against various brick walls? I cant wait to see you play live! Hopefully a tour coming soon? Truth / Tupelo first off there you are talking for other people again. In regard to posts 119 – 125. Now that I have taken the time to once again research your invalid claims. Here are my findings. First off since when is a CIVIL case a CRIMINAL record. Way too funny losers. Secondly, you seem to have listed CIVIL cases from a Mr. Calabrese that is not the same Mr. Calabrese that owns Blaze Records USA. Once again, nice try but next time have your facts correct. Therefore my conclusion based on facts is that you are merely a vigilante group of people with no life that are here for the sole purpose of slandering and harassing a record label and it’s artists. Perhaps it is because of your own life’s failures. FYI: To date there are 27 persons with the same name Anthony Calabrese residing in Ohio. The correct Mr. Calabrese that owns Blaze Records USA has no CRIMINAL record whatsoever and in fact has only had a mere seatbelt violation in the past 22 years. If you are going to try to pull facts out of your ass at least reach far enough in to your rectum to pull out TRUE facts. My daughter is on the Blaze Records USA label and I have completely researched all claims that you have made, only to find them false. Once again, go get a life and stop harassing record labels and their Artists.
