Disagreement as ‘Harassment’? @StephHerold Says Tell the FBI

“You are just an ignorant, inarticulate, hate-filled bigot — a typical American — and you are so insignificant that Sara Alcid can’t be bothered to notice.”
— Robert Stacy McCain

Talking back to a Queer Feminist is a now evidently a hate crime or something, and Badger Pundit chronicles how my reply to a “reproductive justice” activist made Sara Alcid a heroic martyr in the “War on Women.” Disagreement is hate, because feminism.

Let’s remember what happened: My editors at The American Spectator assigned me to cover Saturday’s “SlutWalk DC,” a sort of feminist festival in which women celebrate victimhood, and the syllogism can be simply summarized: “Shut up, because rape.”

My description of that memorably ridiculous event prompted Sara Alcid to denounce me as “disgusting.”

We are not allowed to reply to them, you see.

These people are Our Moral Superiors. We are inarticulate subhumans who have no rights, not even the First Amendment free speech right to express disagreement or defend ourselves against insults.

We cannot reply by pointing out that Sara Alcid is a disciple of “queer theory” feminist Judith Butler, or that Sara Alcid works for a 501(c)3 non-profit abortion advocacy organization, or that Sara Alcid views Valentine’s Day as a hateful occasion when “heteronormativity and gender roles … rear their ugly heads.”

We cannot point these things out, because disagreement is hate.

The flawed logic of their rhetoric, their enthusiasm for bad ideas, their fanatical desire to destroy all that is true, right and decent in the world — no, you can’t point this out, because if you do, some people might say mean things about feminists, and people who say mean things about feminists are evil hateful sexist harassers who are trying to silence and intimidate these courageous women.

On the other hand, when the Southern Poverty Law Center publishes a “hate map” that inspires a deranged pervert to go shoot up the Family Research Council — that’s not hate or harassment.

Progressive activist Brett Kimberlin’s attempt to have his estranged wife involuntarily committed — that’s not hate or harassment.

The obscenely vile things that liberals say about Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter and other conservative women — none of that can be condemned as hate or harssment and, in fact, feminists like Sara Alcid generally applaud and participate in the Left’s ongoing campaign to demonize and marginalize conservative women.

You can’t point this out, however, because pointing out the malicious dishonesty of feminists is “harassment and bullying.”

Also, never mention that Sara Alcid is in favor of killing babies, although I think some people might take notice of this.

If Stephanie Herold wants to keep digging that hole, I’m glad to help.

Please, ladies, never doubt your own monopoly on truth. Never consider the possibility that your philosophy is wrong. Never think of the blood of innocent victims you sacrifice on the altar of “choice.” Never waiver, never heed the “still small voice” of conscience, and please never repent your sins, lest you spare yourselves the torments of Hell.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness . . .”
— Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)

  1. I have this vision of her and her comrades sitting around a fire where she is bestowed some sort of ceremonial feather by the high priestess Butler for withstanding the slings and arrows of that notorious patriarch RS McCain. I mean, it’s not a big feather; after all, you’re not Limbaugh, yet.

  2. What stuns me about this whole thing is how they lose track of the sequence of events:

    1. Feminists hold “SlutWalk,” an event that attracts publicity by being deliberately provocative.

    2. I get assigned to cover the event, and do so in my customary sarcastic manner.

    3. Sara Alcid denounces my description as “disgusting,” Tweeting this denunciation to my attention.

    4. My understandable reaction is: “Who is Sara Alcid?” So I take some time to research the answer to that question, and publish the answer on my blog — in my customary sarcastic manner — with Sara’s Twitter handle in the headline, to make sure she doesn’t miss my reply.

    5. This makes me a “creep,” a “stalker” and a “harasser” because …. well, because feminism.

Exactly how Sara Alcid thinks she can claim victimhood in this sequence, I don’t know. Perhaps I have an unfair advantage, because I didn’t go to an elite school like Bryn Mawr with $42,000-a-year tuition, and therefore I am not mentally disabled by a perverted ideology.

  3. Dear McCain, please know that we <3 you and support you. 🙂 Oh, maybe I should throw in a few more: 🙂 🙂 :). PATRIARCHY! <3 <3 <3. Oh, what the heck: 🙂 🙂 🙂 In case anyone wonders what I'm doing, take a look at their tweets. <3 <3 😉 😉 😉

  4. Well there’s your problem. You’re thinking logically and referring to facts. That’s an alternate universe for these types.

  5. Exactly how Sara Alcid thinks she can claim victimhood in this sequence, I don’t know.

You have a penis, therefore shut up. Rapist.

  6. I don’t see this ending well for Ms. Alcid.

She, and her fellow travelers are used to receiving positive coverage, and affirmation that their world view is correct. Being challenged on views she supports, and questioned about prior comments is most likely a new phenomena for her.

However on the bright side, she has been exposed to far more critical thinking in the past few days, then in the entirety of her college career.

  7. Why would we want to silence them? They provide such incredible source material. I frankly want they to scream their vile philosophy from every rooftop.

  8. Also, while I’m thinking about it. they take a poke at someone, and when that person poke back, THEY were the victims? It’s kinda like some bullies I’ve observed. They attack and attack, and when someone responds, they act as is they were victimized.

  9. I don’t think their ideology is constructed to deal with well reasoned resistance, especially the sarcastic kind. Their entire MO is to silence all opposition. You haven’t acted predictably, so they have to portray themselves as victims. Their playbook is powerful, but very thin. They run out of tactics fast.

  10. You forget, sir. You’re probably the first real live journalist she’s encountered. Thanks to what passes for “journalism” these days, she was raised to think that a “journalist” is a professional, um, pleasurer for Democratic/properly leftist politicians. She likely had no idea journalists are supposed to do things such as ask serious questions and follow leads.

  11. And then of course YOU’re the bully for actually standing up to them and calling bullshyte. Textbook projection, that.

And then they run crying to the very “patriarchy” they put on a big show of denouncing. Yeah, how am I NOT supposed to read BIG HONKIN DADDY ISSUES out of that?

  12. I agree wholeheartedly. Put them, their philosophy, their prior comments, and their continued pathetic attempts at justification on full display.

They should be accustom to arguing the merits of their world view, and advocating the strengths of their view vs. competing views.

The fact that Ms. Alcid (and her loyal toddlers) attempt to shut down the discussion via shaming and appeals to authority demonstrate they know they can’t.

  13. There’s a reason why the vast majority of American women want nothing to do with feminism and do not want to be called feminists (and that includes many left of center women). Ms. Alcid is the embodiment of the reason why. And she’s utterly clueless about it.

  14. You have to understand that their worldview is developed within echo chambers where no one ever criticizes with feminist ideology, much less rejects it as the ridiculous lunatic gibberish it is.

  15. My wife, a Ph.D. in Linguistics and smarter than me, her marriage to me notwithstanding, is one of those. I should say, however, she was born in another country. Contemplating American feminism causes her to deploy the “What’s wrong with your country” gambit, as if it’s somehow my damn fault. It’s sort of like when the kids used to misbehave, they were “your children.”

  16. The interesting thing is, I don’t think it’s necessarily political. Women in general dislike fellow women who act like spoiled entitlement princesses (even if they themselves are spoiled entitlement princesses!) and, er, sluts. (i.e., the piece Stacy links about why no one wants to be friends with Sandra Fluke even if she’s their political ally) Call it wiring, evolution, or whatever, but these are issues that would develop even if we were all Amazons on some male-less island somewhere and ruled by a matriarchy. On some subconscious, biological level, these kinds of brats drive us nuts.

To wit, as much as some of the previous whiteknights ginned up a whole lot of faux outrage, the worst I’ve ever seen is by feminists against other feminists. (The whole difference between having ones’ “delicate feefees” hurt versus real, actual cyberbullying? I got that from a feminist taking another to task over that passive aggressive bleating) Before taking on the ever-elusive Patriarchy, perhaps the feminists need to get their own house in order first.

  17. So far today I’ve got Kathleen Pye @/KathleenCanada in my twitter feed over your post and Cathy Areu ?@/CatalinaMag over a post from Five Feet of Fury (@kshaidle). One’s an feminazi and the other is an (trying out a new word) athiesnazi (hmmm…needs work). Reading your posts and hers and following you and Ms.Shaidle on twitter gets interesting at times. Fun though.
