Christians Branded ‘Hate Group’ for Opposing LGBT Agenda in Schools

Friday was the national “Day of Silence” promoted by GLSEN, the radical homosexual teachers organization founded in 1990 to promote the gay agenda in public schools. GLSEN has been controversial because the group’s director, Kevin Jennings, was implicated in the infamous 2000 “Fistgate” incident in Massachusetts. Yet it is now opposition to GLSEN that is considered controversial in Colorado:

Jefferson County school board member Julie Williams said late Friday that she was “sincerely sorry” and that she would remove a link on her personal Facebook page that she shared that encouraged families to keep their students home Friday and “away from perverse indoctrination” of the“homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda.”
“To be honest with you, I didn’t read the article,” Williams said. “I just saw it and thought I was sharing information with parents.”
The link, like most on Williams’ wall, was posted without comment. It directs Facebook users to a newsletter published by SaveCalifornia.com, but neither overtly endorses nor condemns the group and its message.
Friday is the national “Day of Silence.” It is organized by GLSEN, an organization that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students and teachers in schools. The aim of the protest is to raise awareness about LGBT bullying. Students who participate in the protest attend school but remain silent. Some put tape over their mouths.
SaveCalifornia.com describes itself as a “frontline pro-family leader standing strong for moral virtues for the common good.” But the Southern Poverty Law Center considers the organization a hate group, akin to the white supremacy political party American Freedom Party and Westboro Baptist Church.

That’s right: The SPLC now considers it “hate” for Christians to oppose gay activism aimed at school children. What do we know about SaveCalifornia.com?

Thanks to generous support from everyday people who care, our Campaign for Children and Families is:
– Leading for parental rights by empowering fathers and mothers
– Fighting for the protection of children’s innocence everywhere
– Challenging liberal lies with God’s timeless moral truths
– Boldly speaking out for your values in the culture war
– Teaching and activating pro-family citizens to stand for what’s right
Founded in 1999 by veteran pro-family leader Randy Thomasson, SaveCalifornia.com is dedicated to defending and representing the values of parents, grandparents and concerned citizens who want what’s best for this generation and future generations.
We’re an articulate voice in the media. We expose what’s wrong or right with our government. We urge lawmakers to respect and support family values. And we empower citizens to speak out for their values.

Does this 501(c)3 organization sound like a “hate group” to you? Well, what about their “Day of Silence” message? Thanks to California Catholic Daily, we have the full text of the group’s April 2 email:

If you have children in K-12 government schools, in California or another state, please keep them home and away from perverse indoctrination on Friday, April 19.
That’s the day of the so-called “Day of Silence,” where sexually confused students and teachers refuse to speak during the entire academic day. They’ll indoctrinate everybody else through handouts and chalkboard writings and videos and other propaganda tools. They’ll tell children to support and embrace the unnatural and unhealthy homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda and will say that anyone who’s against it is a “bigot.”
SaveCalifornia.com is leading the West Coast effort to urge parents to remove their children from government schools on Friday, April 19, the nationwide date of the “Day of Silence.”
Yet because the pro-homosexual-bisexual-transsexual “silence” could be permitted anytime April 15-19, SaveCalifornia.com is advising you to contact the school to ask if “silence” will be allowed on any date. No matter what, please keep your children home on April 19, to express your strong disapproval of the pro-perversity state school bureaucracy.
On Friday April 19, 2013 the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network is once again exploiting public schools to promote homosexuality and gender confusion as moral and normative through the political protest called the Day of Silence.
A coalition of pro-family groups is urging parents to keep their children home from school on the “Day of Silence,” if your school is allowing students to refuse to speak in class.

Is it “hate” to say that in 2015? Read it again. Do you suddenly feel inspired to go out and bully homosexuals?

The Speech Police are also the Thought Police. What we are witnessing is an effort to tell people what to think by controlling what they are allowed to say. Whether or not you agree with SaveCalifornia.com, is it incorrect to say that GLSEN’s agenda is “to promote homosexuality and gender confusion as moral and normative”? Are those who consider this to be immoral and abnormal not permitted to express their opposition? Is Romans 1:18-32 now to be forbidden as “hate” speech?

No responsible parent would send their children to American public schools, which have become a menace to our nation’s liberty.

“Truth is great and will prevail if left to herself . . . she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them.”
— Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, 1786

Public schools are Ignorance Factories, operated by corrupt government bureaucrats who cannot be trusted to teach children facts or useful skills. The K-12 Implosion approaches, as does the Apocalypse.

  1. Secularists and Muslims are allowed to not make cake decorations that violate their conscience. It is only Christians that are being singled out for the ritual Two Minutes Hate by the Flaming Rage Nozzles of Tolerance. You can make any excuse you want, but you can’t change that fact.

  2. Words like “racist” and “hate group” are used to shut down speech. Mega McArdle has a post on “shame storming”. It is the same technique. If we can position ourselves where these people cannot harm us with their name calling and shame storming, we can give it right back. Usually, though, the attackers prefer to remain anonymous.

  3. Projection. It is the Gaystapo that are trying to silence all other voices. Christians politely dissent from political correctness, and get arson and death threats. Christians politely disapprove out of school of having a contrary agenda pushed in school, and have to apologize to keep their jobs. As your ally Ken White said,

The narrative gays are bullies is the anti-gay right’s best shot at reversing the tide, and they’re promoting it skillfully, aided by people who are in fact acting badly.

By claiming that secularism wasn’t a religion, you made a huge strategic error. Huge. If the state can establish it without violating 1A, then its practice can also be forbidden. It is my long-term goal to push that mistake down your throat, and return to the original ecumenical peace.

  4. You are making a huge tactical error by pretending that dissent is hate, and therefore disallowable. That is a sword that can cut both ways.

  5. I love my iPad and the truth is Microsoft is just as evil. What we need in the West is revival , sadly I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

  6. Check your facts. Suicide amongst those young people choosing to practice homosexuality has nothing to do with “brutalizing, verbal attacking, and dehumanizing comments.”

Practicing deviant sex in the US has never been more celebrated and accepted. Young homosexuals still kill themselves in disproportionate numbers. Countries like the Netherlands and Sweden where sodomy amongst young people is considered de rigueur – yep they’re still killing themselves.

It’s not the bullying, which is no worse than anyone else suffers, it’s the inherent dysfunctional and disordered nature of homosexual behavior.

  7. Funny that. Propagation of homosexuality is sort of contra-indicated by evolution. Acquired predilections and associated behavior have little to do with genetics. I think even APA are unclear on the issue.

  8. Actually, it’s based on a large and growing body of scientific data that tells us that being gay is neither a choice, nor can it be changed by any method, physical or psychological, that we have yet devised and tested (and there are hundreds of examples tried on hundreds of thousands of patients who want to change and could not).

What bullshit. If homosexuals were born, such a concerted effort to bring children into the lifestyle from as early as age five (just look at GLSEN’s webpage) would not exist.

And there are thousands of former homosexuals out there, who did not want to be that way, were miserable and wanted out. These people who say homosexuals cannot leave and encourage them to stay are selfish little bastards . Why should anyone listen to them?

  9. No God. Never was.

That should make the conversation when you stand before Him rather interesting.

  10. Actually the reason why teen homosexuals are killing themselves is because they live in misery and are being told there is no way out while at the same time selfish bastards are trying to remove the option of mental health assistance. Those people have blood on their hands, and they do not even care.

  11. Bullshit, huh? Explain Floyd Corkins, then. Anna Maria Hoffman was in the Family Research Council building the day that guy tried to get in with SPLC-inspired murder on his mind. Why don’t you ask her if she thinks it’s bullshit?

  12. I didn’t say gay people were “born,” just that they did not make a choice and cannot change. There is a difference. They may very well be born, but we don’t know that one way or the other. We do know, for sure, that it is not a choice and cannot be changed. GLSEN is not bringing anyone into a lifestyle other than a lifestyle of tolerance for gay people and support for gay youth who did not choose to be gay and cannot change that they are gay.

The “former homosexuals” you refer to do not number in the hundreds, let alone the thousands, and those few who do claim to be formerly gay eventually come out as still having and acting on same-sex attraction far, far more often than they claim to be heterosexual for the rest of their lives. Even Exodus International, the famous proponent of gay conversion therapy, has changed their position and acknowledged that being gay or straight is not a choice and cannot be changed. The founder himself has admitted he could not be changed either. Most professionals “treating” homosexuality only say that you can act like a heterosexual, not that you can eliminate same-sex attraction or acquire opposite-sex attraction.

  13. I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. Telling me to “check my facts” while making up your own to win rhetorical points doesn’t make you right. “It’s not the bullying.” Really? Bullying doesn’t contribute to depression and suicide? Check your facts.

  14. Homosexuals also cannot procreate.

(And, no, before you say it, two people of the same gender cannot create life. Sperm and ovum must be present. Absolutely nothing will ever change that fact.)

  15. For what it’s worth, I think that the SPLC are vulgar opportunists and could just as easily have been right-wing, libertarian, Christian, Muslim, or Flying Spaghetti Monster, if it got them more money. Right now, left-authoritarianism is culturally ascendent, so that’s what they went with.

Their “hate map” is produced by their fundraising arm, the FBI has downgraded them from an ally to a source, and they’re sitting on a sweet quarter-billion dollars of endowment with nothing to spend it on but permanent income. Livin’ the dream!

    They’re a walking punchline.

  16. Actually, it’s the treating of gay people as diseased, inhuman monsters that contributes more to depression and suicide among gay people. Yes, there is “misery” to be found, but it is not because, “selfish bastards are trying to remove the option of mental health assistance.” It’s because they are being told they need to be cured and they come to realize that their sexuality is not a choice and cannot be “cured.” So what’s left after that? A life of being a horrible person for being gay, or… It makes sense that dehumanizing gay people makes them believe they shouldn’t live. It makes sense that allowing gay people to be themselves without the harsh critiques of homophobes telling them they are a disease and need to be cured would lead them to be healthy, happy gay people. Numerous studies have shown this to be true: it’s treating homosexuality as a disease that causes the maladies associated with homosexuality.

  17. I didn’t say gay people were “born,” just that they did not make a choice and cannot change. There is a difference. They may very well be born, but we don’t know that one way or the other. We do know, for sure, that it is not a choice and cannot be changed.

I have already demonstrated how and why this argument is completely nonsensical.

GLSEN is not bringing anyone into a lifestyle other than a lifestyle of tolerance for gay people

Fistgate. And it’s funny how a single word can destroy a strawman.

The “former homosexuals” you refer to do not number in the hundreds, let alone the thousands

And how do you know this? Have you spoken to them? Do you know each of them by name?

Fact of the matter is, we are only human, and we will have relapses, much like those who do with drug and alcohol addiction. But what about those who don’t? What you are doing is intentionally ignoring those people for a fallacy: A person cannot change their behavior.

  18. We’ve all been bullied for one reason or another. Most of us develop coping skills. You really need to look beyond just bullying when it just doesn’t play out, especially in countries where homosexual behavior has been celebrated for decades. Ask yourself why young homosexuals still kill themselves in disproportionate numbers in NL and Sweden…not to mention the US where you get a front page tabloid for announcing your abnormal sexual preference.

  19. Funny you should mention Darwin – homosexuals, by their “nature”, do not procreate, and thus, are “naturally selected” out of reproduction of the species. Left to their own devices, they die out. Unless of course, they “choose” to engage in heterosexuality, which of course is impossible since there is no aspect of “choice” in their orientation. Or so I’m told ad nauseam. Correct?

Seems to me homosexuality “by birth” (if there is such a thing) is a birth defect. No?

  20. “No God. Never was.” You sound very certain, as if you speak from personal knowledge. Can to share what I’m sure is a voluminous amount of your research on the matter, so as best to convince this non-doubting Thomas?

  21. Public schools are a menace to society.

But in that society, the Christian-bashing is getting so far beyond rational that it’s like every hard-core anti-religionist is trying to emulate Islamic Rage Boy. (The irony is naturally lost on them)

Check out the headline of a Salon article published today, Sunday of course (in related news, Salon evidently still exists): “Marco Rubio’s deranged religion, Ted Cruz’s bizarre faith: Our would-be presidents are God-fearing clowns” (FU Salon, no link.)

  22. Actually, it’s the treating of gay people as diseased, inhuman monsters

And who is doing that? Last time I checked, nobody was.

Homosexuals are putting politics in front of compassion, which is why homosexuals who are miserable and unhappy about being in the lifestyle are being told, “It gets better.”

Meanwhile, Christians are reaching out, saying, if you are unhappy, there is a way out.

Don’t you dare come in here and say Christians are the reason homosexuals are killing themselves, because that’s a lie, and one you will not get away with.

  23. We have all been bullied. Surely you can acknowledge that it is worse for some than for others. If the only black kid in school is bullied, he goes home as cries with his black mother who knows what it’s like and will support him. If a gay kid is bullied in school and goes home to his conservative Christian mother who tells him he is a sinner and going to Hell, and she threatens to disown him and kick him out, withdrawing all support, that would be an example of “worse.” And it is the fear of young gay people. Even in those places you claim are “celebrating” homosexuality. Even kids of out gay parents can be fearful of coming out as gay themselves.

The US does not celebrate homosexuality in the way you seem to imagine. If nothing else, you can look in the mirror to find someone who is not “celebrating.” …and homosexuality has been observed in thousands of animal species. Every species, in fact, that we have studied for the presence of homosexuality, has displayed homosexual behavior. We know of no species on Earth that does not exhibit homosexuality. To call it an “abnormal” sexual preference is just wrong. It would be quite abnormal not to find homosexuality. In every human population we have studied on Earth, approximately 3-5% of people are homosexual. It would be quite abnormal to find a community of human beings not exhibiting homosexuality.

  24. Nope, sorry.

First, gay bigots like yourself insist that having sex with underage
minors in school bathrooms is appropriate and natural behavior for gay
and lesbian people, so it IS about a sex act.

    http://www.viralread.com/2013/10/03/photo-kaitlyn-hunt-sex-florida-teen-lesbian-plea-bargain/

Second, gay bigots like yourself namecall and tell conservative and Christian gays to kill themselves, so clearly you don’t care about suicide.

    http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/village-voice-writer-goproud-are-like-jewish-naz#.tk7ONDZKd

    http://www.gaypatriot.net/2012/11/01/gay-left-wing-radio-host-tells-gay-romney-supporter-to-commit-suicide-says-he-should-not-be-allowed-to-vote/

So frankly, no one cares what you think, because these demonstrate that gay bigots like yourself are perverse pedophiles who will say and do anything to get your sex with underage minors.

  25. Unfortunately, gay bigot, you’ve already been exposed as supporting namecalling, brutalization, and telling gay people to kill themselves.

    http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/village-voice-writer-goproud-are-like-jewish-naz#.te7YNZl0v

    http://www.gaypatriot.net/2012/11/01/gay-left-wing-radio-host-tells-gay-romney-supporter-to-commit-suicide-says-he-should-not-be-allowed-to-vote/

So until you repudiate that, you’re just a liar and a hypocrite.

    But we already knew that.

  26. “Don’t you dare come in here and say Christians are the reason homosexuals are killing themselves”

I have neither said nor implied any such thing. You don’t have to get so defensive. Unless you are conflating Christians with those who “treat gay people as diseased, inhuman monsters,” I can’t see how you could imagine I have any belief of the sort. …though I do see how it would be easy to conflate the two, since, here you are.

“Christians are reaching out, saying, if you are unhappy, there is a way out.”

True, some conservative Christians are saying that. And it is very damaging, because it is a lie. If there is a way to change from homosexual to heterosexual, please go ahead and lay out the process. I doubt that you can, because it does not exist. But surely, as history teaches us, it has been quite sought after by a great many gay and non-gay people, so it should be easy to find and outline. You could probably go into great detail describe the exact procedure if you wanted, but just an outline of how it works will do.

  27. Please show me exactly where I have personally done any of those things. Or would it be easier to dehumanize me and conflate me with other people whom you feel have done wrong. I don’t believe I ever claimed that all gay people are without sin, or that no gay person can be wrong about anything. If you would like me to bring up some conservative Christians who have done wrong, I think you know I can find one or two examples. I am equally capable of ascribing those wrongdoings to you personally. …and I can call you names if you wish. It won’t make me right, but I can do it.

  28. And since sex with underage minors has been found in every human population on earth, pedophilia is normal and should be encouraged.

And since killing and eating one’s own offspring is perfectly common across the animal kingdom, then it should be decriminalized and allowable for humans to murder children.

See? This is an easy game to play. Now, if you want to argue that humans should behave differently and better than animals, fine, but then your argument goes right out the window.

  29. Nope, sorry.

You screamed all Christians are responsible for the actions of any Christian.

You screamed that Christians cause gay children to kill themselves.

We’re done with this stupid, hypocritical game. You are fully responsible now for the actions and statements of all gay people just like you scream and piss at Christians.

  30. Not good enough.

You stated that all Christians are responsible for everything any other Christian does.

Therefore you are responsible for anything that any gay person does.

Do you understand the game, bigot? Put your money where your mouth is.

State that Dan Savage is a bigot.

State that Mike Signorile is a bigot.

State that GLSEN and other organizationsl that endorse both of them are bigots.

Either do it or you are a lazy, worthless hypocrite and liar.

  31. Thank you for bringing up the “homosexuality found in animal species” canard. If you wish to compare yourself to animals I happily concede the debate to you.

  32. I didn’t say everything natural is good. The “natural is good, unnatural is bad” argument is a logical fallacy known as an “appeal to nature.” It was your argument and I was engaging on your terms, explaining that homosexuality is not “abnormal.” It is quite normal. That does not make it good. It may or may not be good. But it is normal.

Obviously the outcomes of pedophilia (which hurts children), or murder (which hurts whomever the target is) are significantly different than the outcomes of two men or two women loving each other. If you can’t see that, I would question your sense of morality.

  33. You just can’t stop lying, can you?

You’re such a hypocrite and a pathetic bigot. You were just humiliated by having it point out how bigots like yourself OPENLY tell gay conservatives and Christians to kill themselves and how you OPENLY insist that sex with children in a PUBLIC SCHOOL RESTROOM is normal LGBT behavior that should be defended.

    http://www.viralread.com/2013/10/03/photo-kaitlyn-hunt-sex-florida-teen-lesbian-plea-bargain/

    http://www.eqfl.org/node/2499

  34. And now the desperate gay bigot starts screaming and crying when he’s required to follow the same rules he demands of others.

GLSEN and the gay bigots like Dan Savage they support endorse and practice namecalling and bullying.

    http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/village-voice-writer-goproud-are-like-jewish-naz#.te7YNZl0v

GLSEN and the gay bigots they endorse and support like Mike Signorile tell other gay people to commit suicide.

    http://www.gaypatriot.net/2012/11/01/gay-left-wing-radio-host-tells-gay-romney-supporter-to-commit-suicide-says-he-should-not-be-allowed-to-vote/

GLSEN supports and endorses having sex in public school restrooms with underage minors.

    http://www.viralread.com/2013/10/03/photo-kaitlyn-hunt-sex-florida-teen-lesbian-plea-bargain/

Those are facts. No wonder you’re off screaming and trying to blame “Christians” to cover up the perverse and sick behavior that your so-called “Day of Silence” is about.
