Erstwhile #Resistance Spokesman Now Presumes to Lecture Republican Voters

It’s bad enough that the same people who spent four years denying the legitimacy of the Trump presidency — because RUSSIA! — are now lecturing us about the need to accept a Biden presidency. The people who claimed the 2016 election was “hacked” by Putin are now telling us that it is an outrageous conspiracy theory to doubt the election result based on video showing hidden troves of ballots being counted in the wee hours of the morning after election monitors had left the room.

We have actually seen obituaries of the dead people who “voted” this year, yet we are told there is “no evidence” the election was stolen.

As bad as all this is — and I’ve deliberately avoided paying attention to it, out of concern for maintaining my sanity — do we need fat Democrat millionaires lecturing us about our health?

Filmmaker-activist Michael Moore attempted to reach across the aisle and speak directly to Trump supporters in the latest episode of his “Rumble” podcast this week. But he ended up using his olive branch to deliver a spanking, blaming MAGA nation for spreading the coronavirus and predicting that “many of you are going to die.”
In his podcast, Moore plead with Trump supporters to wear masks and practice social distancing. “I don’t want you to die,” he said, adding perhaps jokingly that it would give him too easy a victory in his battle with the right.
“If we don’t pull together as Americans, we’re not going to get out of this,” Moore said, noting that “It’s in all the red states, it’s growing faster there than anywhere else.”
Moore also offered a grim forecast for those who refuse to get on board with the program. “Many of you are going to die.”
Growing audibly more agitated, the Oscar-winning filmmaker began lashing out at Trump supporters.
“Why do you want to die? Why — to take a stand against us liberals, to show us a thing or two?” he asked. “You’re showing us how to die. Why do you want to do that?”
He added: “In all the places that voted for Trump, people are dropping like flies.”

This is simply not true. It is demonstrably false. In Democrat-controlled New Mexico, for example, the virus is out of control, despite (or perhaps because of) the state’s drastic lockdown regime. The daily death toll from COVID-19 has spiked to record levels in Democrat-controlled California, and this week, the state with the most COVID-19 deaths was not a pro-Trump “red state” stronghold, but Democrat-controlled Illinois.

Anyone — even someone as profoundly stupid as Michael Moore — can find these facts with a quick Google search, so if the truth was easily available and yet Michael Moore is not telling the truth, is there a word for that? Yes, he is lying. Michael Moore is a big fat liar.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch some college football. It’s for my mental health. Hit the freaking tip jar. Thank you.

DNC Sold Out to Bloomberg ‘Because He’s Got a Billion F***ing Dollars!’

Michael Moore at a Bernie Sanders rally Friday in Iowa:

They are removing the rule to be on the debate stage, where it says you have to have so many people donating to you — otherwise instead of 27 people on the stage we’d have 270 people on the stage. You had to show you had a certain number of Americans that would give you a buck, that’s all the rule said, to show you have support. And that’s how they determine who would be on the debate stage.
Today they removed that rule because Mike Bloomberg, the billionaire, the Republican Mayor of New York City . . . They removed it so that he could be in the next debate. He doesn’t have to show he has any support among the American people, he can just buy his way onto the debate stage, and I’m going to tell you what’s so disgusting about this.
I watched the debate in Iowa here two weeks ago — the all-white debate — and the fact that . . . the DNC will not allow Cory Booker on that stage, will not allow Julian Castro on that stage, but they are going to allow Mike Bloomberg on the stage? Because he’s got a billion f***ing dollars!
I’m sorry. Those days are over. Those days are over.

The question of why the DNC suddenly decided to change its debate rules has a couple of answers: First, and most obviously, Bloomberg has given big money to the DNC and has promised to spend as much a billion dollars of his own money to beat Trump, no matter who gets the Democratic nomination. Allahpundit explains the second answer:

There’s a chance that Bernie wins easily in Iowa and New Hampshire, with Biden underperforming dismally. If that happens the media will be ruthless in attacking Biden as a chronic underachiever in presidential contests, the guy who just can’t get it done. The stink of campaign death will be on him even though he’ll limp on to Nevada and South Carolina. But establishment Dems will be panicking and looking for a longshot centrist option who might somehow be able to hold off Sanders. That’s Bloomberg, a guy who’s already bought his way into the top tier nationally and who seems willing to pay any price to promote himself. He may well be the only Democrat who can outspend the Sanders money machine, and he can do it by an order of magnitude. If Biden flames out early Bloomy may be the only game in town for centrist Democrats on Super Tuesday. Go figure that the DNC wants to start introducing him to the primary electorate as soon as possible at the debates.

In other words, Bloomberg is the fallback candidate for the “Anybody But Bernie” Democrats, who cheated Sanders out of the 2016 nomination, and are determined to cheat him again in 2020. As we discussed Saturday night on The Other Podcast, there is a parallel between the left-wing populism of Sanders and the right-wing populism of Trump. Both candidates ran against the party establishment — Bernie against the Clinton machine, Trump against the Bush/RINO/neoconservative crowd — and it’s possible that some “Bernie bros” hated Clinton so much they actually voted for Trump in November 2016.

Populism, rooted in a belief that the elite are decadent and depraved, is a powerful force in a society where political authority appears to be controlled by a corrupt cabal of insiders. As much as I abhor Sanders’ socialism, I am very sympathetic to his supporters in their resentment of the DNC establishment. Really, what are Democrat insiders so afraid of? Is it just because they think Sanders will lose? As if Biden would win? The idea that Creepy Uncle Joe would be a formidable opponent to Trump is a dubious proposition, and I think Democrats are more afraid that nominating Sanders would cost them the support of the fat-cat lobbyists who provide so much of the DNC’s revenues.

Michael Moore Humbly Declares Himself the Only Good Kind of White Guy

His ego is nearly as bloated as his belly:

Michael Moore declared that white people “are not good people” and that you should “be afraid” of them in an interview on “The Rolling Stone” podcast “Useful Idiot.” Moore warned people that if they see a group of 3 white men approaching them that they should cross the street because at least 2 of them voted for Trump.
“I refuse to participate in post-racial America,” Moore said. “I refuse to say because we elected Obama that suddenly that means everything is okay, white people have changed. White people have not changed.”
“Two-thirds of all white guys voted for Trump. That means anytime you see three white guys walking at you, down the street toward you, two of them voted for Trump. You need to move over to the other sidewalk because these are not good people that are walking toward you. You should be afraid of them,” Moore warned.
Moore joked that the “other guy” with the group of three whites are people “like him” that didn’t vote for Trump.
“We’re traitors to our race, that’s how they see us,” Moore said of pro-Trump white people.

Republican voters — all 62.9 million of us — are so dangerous you should cross the street to avoid us, but Michael Moore? Oh, he’s a saint!

Remember when Michael Moore’s ex-wife sued him claiming he swindled her out of millions of dollars? Yeah, he’s such a class act.

VIDEO: Michael Moore Tells Americans How to Be Good Americans — Like Him!

Question: If it weren’t for the fact that it plays 24/7 in airport waiting areas, would anyone ever watch CNN? Not me. Sometimes I switch over to MSNBC for kicks, but I never watch CNN.

So anyway, Piers Morgan had Michael Moore on Thursday night, so that he could give the rest of America (or at least the part of America stuck watching CNN in airports) a lecture about what it really means to be a Good American:

I was raised in an Irish Catholic home. I believe in those principles that I was raised with. I hear a lot of people in this country often say, what would Jesus do? I don’t think Jesus would go down to Ground Zero like a lot of people did on that — on Sunday night with champagne bottles and pop corks and have a party. . . .
And I think — I think, look, like I said, I’m glad he’s gone. But I just feel something has — we’ve lost something of our soul here in this country. And maybe I’m just an old school American who believes in our American judicial system. Something that separates us from other parts, other countries where we say everybody has their day in court no matter how bad of a person, no matter what piece of scum they are, they have a right to a trial. . . .
We are at a point now where we don’t — ‘what do we need a trial for, just get rid of him.’ The second you say that, you’re saying that you hate being an American. You hate what we stand for, you hate what our constitution stands for.We stand for something different than that and we’re better than them. We don’t just operate in an uncivilized way the way they did on 9/11. We operate in a moral way. . . .
You know we should be standing up and saying, ‘listen, damn it, we’re Americans. This is the way we do it. You commit a crime, we put you on trial. That’s the way it works here.’ . . .

It’s amazing, isn’t it? He tries to play the Jesus card, then he tries to play the patriotism card, and he can’t seem to get it through his thick head: This is war.

Al-Qaeda is a foreign enemy making war on America. They are not Americans, entitled as such to the legal protections — habeas corpus, etc. — guaranteed under the Constitution. It would be more apt to compare them to pirates, deserving nothing better than a noose on a rope slung over a yardarm.

But I give Michael Moore credit at least for being consistent and non-partisan. His willingness to take the side of America’s terrorist enemies has apparently not been diminished by the fact that there is a Democrat in the White House.

‘Too Good a Pleasure to Forego’

The quote in the headline is from Professor Glenn Reynolds about the delicious all-you-can-eat schadenfreude smorgasbord served up by liberals since St. Hopey’s War broke out Saturday. Some people seem to have forgotten the absolute viciousness of liberals during the Bush years. Last night, while doing some research, I ran across a Byron York item about Michael Moore at the 2004 Democratic convention:

“The right wing is not where America is at,” Moore said. “Most Americans, in their heart, are liberal and progressive. It’s just a small minority of people who hate. They hate. They exist in the politics of hate.”
“They’re not patriots,” Moore said. “They’re hate-triots, and they believe in the politics of hate-triotism. Hate-triotism is where they stand, and patriotism is where real Americans stand.” . . .
“I mean, they are up at six in the morning trying to figure out which minority group they’re going to screw today,” Moore continued. “The hate, they eat for breakfast. They are going to fight and they are going to smear, and they are going to lie, and they are going to hate.”

So, yeah, when a vitriolic irresponsible cretin like Michael Moore — a guy so clueless he actually thought John Kerry would be a good president — is exposed for the complete chump he is, I’m going to do everything I can to publicize his embarrassment. And hey, did I mention I’ve got a new column today at The American Spectator?

Shortly after the first U.S. cruise missiles hit their targets Saturday, the collateral damage became apparent — not in Libya, but on the home front, where liberal credibility was shattered by President Obama’s sudden resort to military action against Moammar Gaddafi’s regime. Those who had hailed Obama’s ascent as the dawn of a new age of peace, an end to the alleged “cowboy” belligerence of the Bush years, exploded with a mixture of outrage, confusion and chagrin as their hero flung the country into war in North Africa.
None was more indignant than Michael Moore. The left-wing filmmaker had spent George W. Bush’s presidency in frothing rage at Republicans whom he accused, at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, of practicing “the politics of hate.” That same year Moore released Fahrenheit 9/11, a dubious “documentary” which portrayed Bush as a secret ally of Osama bin Laden. And in April 2008, on the eve of the crucial Democratic primary in Pennsylvania, Moore publicly endorsed Obama because, he said, “the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting.”
Evidently, in Moore’s view, Obama’s words and actions have recently gone in the same direction. Saturday afternoon, the director unleashed a torrent of mocking messages on Twitter: “We’re going to keep bombing countries until we get it right.… May I suggest a 50-mile evacuation zone around Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize?… Bombing Libya today was like an Iraq War anniversary present to ourselves!” Indeed, in an irony not lost on Moore, the attacks on Libya by a U.S.-led coalition fell on the eight-year anniversary of the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, which liberals had long cited as Exhibit A in their case against the Bush administration. . . .

Read the whole thing, because the walk-off quote is as awesome as the flavor of fresh schadenfreude.

OPERATION ODYSSEY DAWN: U.S. Launches Attacks on Targets in Libya

The first Tomahawk cruise missiles hit about 3 p.m. ET today:

Military strikes by the U.S. and its allies against targets in Libya Saturday have “severely disabled” Libyan leader’s Muammar al-Qaddafi’s air defenses, a U.S. official confirms to Fox News. . . .
The Pentagon says 112 Tomahawk cruise missiles have been launched from U.S. and British ships in the Mediterranean, hitting more than 20 Libyan targets along the Mediterranean coastline.

Criticism of Obama from neocon racist right-wingers Michael Moore:

Moore, a frequent critic of President Bush for launching the Iraq War, unleashed a string on tweets comparing the U.S. military’s mission in Libya to Iraq and Afghanistan, using a mantra coined by Charlie Sheen:

It’s only cause we’re defending the Libyan people from a tyrant! That’s why we bombed the Saudis last wk! Hahaha. Pentagon=comedy

And we always follow the French’s lead! Next thing you know, we’ll have free health care & free college! Yay war!

We’ve had a “no-fly zone” over Afghanistan for over 9 yrs. How’s that going? #WINNING !

Khadaffy must’ve planned 9/11! #excuses

Khadaffy must’ve had WMD! #excusesthatwork

Y’know, I had been skeptical of U.S. involvement in Libya, but if Michael Moore is against it . . . well, this might be a Change We Can Believe In.

UPDATE: Instapundit:

Hey, it’s exactly 8 years to the day since Bush started bombing Iraq! If you voted for change, this is the change you voted for.

Meanwhile, The Rhetorican:

What’s missing? The ubiquitous sense of outrage in every nook and cranny of Leftie-dom that we couldn’t stop hearing back in 2003, before troops even started packing for Iraq.

True: The outrage is not “ubiquitous,” but what are lefties like Michael Moore going to do? They got nowhere to go. They backed the most left-wing nominee in the Democratic Party’s history — yes, Obama is further left than McGovern or Dukakis — and actually managed to get him elected. And the result is . . . ??

We’re still in Iraq and Afghanistan. Guantanamo is still in business. Bradley Manning is stripped naked in solitary confinement. Now, another military adventure. You’d think that people who’d been so blatantly screwed over, bamboozled, sold out, ripped off and stabbed in the back would eventually wise up.

But then again: They’re liberals. Continue reading OPERATION ODYSSEY DAWN: U.S. Launches Attacks on Targets in Libya →

Let’s Nationalize the Wealth!

So says Michael Moore: “They’re sitting on the money, they’re using it for their own — they’re putting it someplace else with no interest in helping you with our life, with that money. We’ve allowed them to take that. That’s not theirs, that’s a national resource, that’s ours. We all have this, we all benefit from this or we all suffer as a result of not having it.”

And obviously, Fat Mike’s right about this: That’s our money, the rich have taken it from us, and we have the right to take it back — starting with Michael Moore’s Park Avenue penthouse in New York and his 7,000-square-foot lakefront home.

What an excellent idea!

Michael Moore: Own a Gun? Racist!

“There’s a reason why we want to own these guns. . . . The vast majority of these guns are owned by people who live in safe parts of town, or mostly in suburbs and rural areas, places where there are very few murders. . . . Why do you have a gun? What are you afraid of? . . .  That imaginary person who’s going to break into your home and kill you — who’s that person going to look like? It’s not freckle-faced Jimmy down the street, is it, really? . . . We never really want to talk about the racial or class part of this, in terms of how it’s the poor or people of color that we imagine, we’re afraid of. . . . We also need to address the larger issue of, why are we such a violent people? And not just personal, domestic violence, but a nation that invades other countries, that has such a huge weapons budget, that just seems so intent on violence being the answer.”
— Michael Moore on “The Rachel Maddow Show,” MSNBC
