Gay Campus Group Hosts ‘Porn and Pizza’ Event at University of South Carolina

“Gay agenda”? Who said there’s a “gay agenda”?

The Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Straight Alliance (BGLSA) held a “Porn and Pizza” event Tuesday evening at the University of South Carolina (USC).
According to a campus publication the Daily Gamecock, the event included a pizza dinner followed by viewing and analysis of both gay and straight pornography.
“If anyone is frightened by that title, the back door is still open,” BGLSA President Mason Branham told event attendees.
“Let the puns begin,” she added. . . .
According to a Facebook post advertising the event on September 30, the the event was also centered on sexual health. . . .
After the event, the group posted another status on Facebook which called the event an “utter success” and thanked everyone “for being extremely mature.”

Once could scarcely find a better example what 21st-century higher education is all about: Gay porn parties to promote “sexual health.”

Meg Lanker, Feminist Who Threatened to ‘Hate-F*ck’ Herself, Cops a Plea Bargain

Who can forget the terror that gripped the University of Wyoming campus in spring after this ominous Facebook threat:

“I want to hatef–k Meg Lanker Simons so hard. That chick that runs her liberal mouth all the time and doesn’t care who knows it. I think its hot and it makes me angry. One night with me and shes gonna be a good Republican b–ch.”

A wave of horrified panic swept through Laramie:

The victim of this Facebook threat cited it as “an example of rape culture,” and who could doubt she was an object of twisted GOP lust?
All over campus, plus-sized Women’s Studies majors hid themselves behind dead-bolted doors, while University of Wyoming officials launched an investigation to find the hateful misogynist responsible for this crime.

Except, of course, not really:

Because she is a liar, the obviously guilty hoaxer initially pleaded not guilty, but now admits that she lied about her lying lies:

A jury trial scheduled for next week in Second Judicial Circuit Court concerning an alleged social media hoax at the University of Wyoming has been vacated. . . .
Former University of Wyoming student Meghan Lanker-Simons, now attending law school in a western state, is charged in Circuit Court with interfering with a peace officer, a misdemeanor. She pleaded not guilty to the charge earlier in the case.
However, according to a court document, she now intends to change her plea pursuant to an agreement with the state.
Merseal and Lanker-Simons’ defense attorney, Vaughn Neubauer, appeared in Circuit Court for a motion hearing with Judge Randal R. Arp, who appeared via telephone.
Neubauer said his client intends to change her plea to no contest. . . .
In exchange for Lanker-Simons’ plea, Neubauer said the state agrees to recommend the defendant receive a “minimal” fine and no jail time.
He said his client is likely to waive her appearance for the plea hearing and sentencing.

So, a Democrat who deliberately perpetrated a hoax to smear Republicans is (a) attending law school, and (b) will receive a “minimal” fine, which is nevertheless far more punishment than most Democrats ever receive for their habitual dishonesty.

UPDATE: A reader e-mails this comment:

I don’t know if she’ll take the bar exam but they do ask all kinds of crazy questions on the application and do a background check. You have to provide addresses and places of employment for the last 10 years, answer a bunch of questions about criminal activity and ours had a final question that was basically “any other naughty thing we didn’t think of?” Character is an issue and, depending on the state in which she applies to sit for the bar, this may be considered a character issue that would eliminate her from the bar.
I know a couple of people who weren’t admittable; one guy, who was going to take the bar in CT, was denied as he was way behind on child support and when he sent his application in, they said not even to think it. The other guy was a gynecologist who had lost his MD license over abusing patients and was quite interesting as his was the moot court case when he was in law school.
If I recall correctly, Meg had other crimes in her past so may make sitting for the bar a moot point for herself, assuming she graduates.

Yes, as we reported in May:

“Meg Lanker-Simons” is the alias of a dangerously crazy criminal formerly known as Meghan Michelena, who in 2006 pleaded guilty to aggravated assault after getting fired from a Wyoming radio station . . .
Lanker-Simons walked into an Albany County radio station she’d been fired from with a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun.
She confronted a man who had decided to terminate her, the affidavit reports. The man also told her, the court documents state, that she would not be rehired.
Lanker-Simons “pulled a semi-automatic pistol from her purse, waved the firearm around and pointed (the) firearm at (the man),” according to the affidavit.

With that kind of record, she might become a Harvard Law professor.

Ann Althouse calls attention to the latest scientific research by that eminent British physician, Dr. Andrew Sullivan, OB-GYN:

Evidently, having finished his investigation of the Alaskan Republican uterus scandal, now Dr. Sullivan has decided to explore new frontiers in the emerging field of Texas Republican racial psychiatry.

Obama Makes Token Gesture, Because He’s Losing the Shutdown P.R. War

He’s trying to look reasonable:

President Barack Obama invited congressional leaders from both parties to the White House on Wednesday to discuss the partial government shutdown and looming debt-limit crisis, a White House official said.

There has been a tremendous backfire from Tuesday’s attempt — ordered by Obama administration officials for propaganda purposes — to block veterans from visiting the World War II Memorial in Washington. If you’ve been to that Memorial (which I visited with my family last summer), you know it’s an open-air site. No staff is required to make it possible for visitors to see the Memorial, and it took more manpower to put barricades around it than it would have to leave it open, from which anyone with common sense can see that the attempt to “close” the Memorial was purely as a publicity stunt.

Democrats are publicly explaining their shutdown strategy in terms of political “leverage.” While the mainstream media keep parroting the Democrats’ message (the partisanship at CNN these days is as shamelessly one-sided as MSNBC), ultimately the Big Lie will fail.

Excellent, @RosieGray! Questions Surround Pro-Assad ‘News’ Site

Rosie Gray of BuzzFeed has a fascinating story today about the Minnesota-based site that published a story in late August claiming Syrian rebels had used chemical weapons supplied by the Saudis.

You may not remember that weird Aug. 29 item from Minnesota-based MintPressNews.com — I saw the headline, but dismissed it as obvious propaganda — but some people took it seriously, because it carried the byline of a veteran Mideast correspondent for the Associated Press, Dale Gavlak. Yet there was something distinctly fishy about this story: How could a Web site with no previous reputation as a source for foreign affairs reporting suddenly get this “EXCLUSIVE” story that, rather conveniently, was in direct contradiction of what everyone believed about the situation in Syria?

Whereas reports of chemical weapon use against the rebels by the Assad regime had aroused worldwide indignation, this little-known Web site based in Minnesota had a story claiming the opposite was true, that in fact it was the Syrian rebels who had gassed innocent civilians, and that the Saudis had supplied the poison gas.

Fishy, see?

Beginning with that basic common-sense impression that something didn’t add up, Rosie Gray started digging around and asking questions. She discovered a story involving Mnar Muhawesh, a 26-year-old “progressive” editor  who, as an undergraduate at St. Cloud State University, had gained recognition as “the first reporter to wear a hijab on the school’s TV news program.”

The young editor’s brother-in-law, Muhammad Muhawes, is managing editor of MintPressNews.com, and it appears that the money behind the operation comes via the editor’s father-in-law, “Odeh Muhawesh, 54, a Minneapolis businessman born in Jordan,” who “studied under an ayatollah for five years after the Islamic Revolution.”

As I say, fishy.

Anyway, having first met Rosie Gray out on the 2012 campaign trail, and having occasionally given BuzzFeed a hard time — they hate it when you call them a “liberal blog” — I was quite impressed with this particular exercise in long-form reporting. The principle of credit where credit is due requires me to praise this article, urge you to go read the whole thing, and thank Rosie Gray on Twitter.

Good work, Rosie. But I still say BuzzFeed is a liberal blog.

Steve @Lonegan Coming On Strong In New Jersey Special Senate Election

I heard Steve Lonegan on the Mike Church show while I was going to work last week. He was expounding, as one does on Church’s show, on historical matters, pointing out that New Jersey saw more Revolutionary War action than any other state. Perhaps only a mildly interesting factoid, but one that’s crucial in a day where living icons of heroism are thrown under the bus by a soulless state, and the codpiece media can only laugh. Where, short of going the Full Orwell, does this end?

Hopefully there is some input to the question on 16 October when Steve contends with a serial liar who’s cluttered the office of Mayor of Newark for some years. The question is: Who fills in for Frank Lautenberg until 2014?

Kaitlyn Hunt Gets Another Plea Offer

The state’s attorney’s office in Vero Beach, Florida, has offered another plea-bargain deal to accused sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt:

Special conditions in the plea include:
*Hunt remains jailed until December 20, and on that date, probation will convert to community control.
*She shall have no contact directly or indirectly, including electronically or through third parties, with the victim.
*If the victim initiates contact, Hunt shall not respond in any manner.
*Hunt shall remain at least 500 feet from the victim, her residence, place of work, and school at all times. If Hunt becomes aware that she is within 500 feet of the victim, she shall immediately remove herself to a distance of at least 500 feet.
*Hunt shall submit to warrantless search and seizure by the probation officer (and law enforcement at the request of the probation officer), of her residence, car, phone, and computer.
*Hunt shall provide the probation officer with immediate and full access to telephone and Internet communications including call logs, text logs and messages, instant messaging logs and messages, emails, social media accounts, Skype or similar accounts, and account names, numbers and passwords for all accounts. And Hunt shall not use any such account belonging to any other person nor allow any other person to use any such account belonging to her.
*Hunt shall complete 150 hours of community service at a minimum 15 hours per month commencing upon her release from jail.
*Hunt shall submit to a Florida department of corrections-approved psychological evaluation and successfully complete recommended treatment, if any, at her own expense. She shall waive confidentiality regarding all aspects of the evaluation and treatment.
*Hunt shall submit to electronic (GPS) monitoring during the entire term of supervision.
*Upon completion of one-year of community control, Hunt may ask the court to convert the remainder to probation with the same terms and conditions.
*During her probation, Hunt shall observe a curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
*Hunt may transfer probation to any state that will accept supervision, and if she transfers out of Florida, electronic monitoring will be discontinued. If Hunt returns to Florida, electronic monitoring will resume immediately.
*Hunt shall pay restitution to be determined to the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund, costs of investigation, costs of prosecution ($828.00), costs of incarceration, and standard felony court costs in equal monthly installments to commence upon her release from jail. Hunt also stipulates that she has the ability to pay all costs at the date of sentencing.
*There shall be no early termination of probation, and there shall be no modification of the standard or special conditions of community control or probation without the agreement of the State Attorney’s Office.
*The sentences on all counts are to run concurrently.

This appears to be far more strict probation than the first deal Hunt was offered in April or the second deal she was offered in July, but then again, that was before they caught her sending nude photos and a masturbation video to the victim, who is now 15.
