New Media Site ViralRead.com Signs
Robert Stacy McCain as Editor in Chief
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Veteran journalist Robert Stacy McCain will be joining the staff of ViralRead.com as editor in chief, the New Media site’s publisher announced Wednesday. “While we’re quietly building out ViralRead for its official launch, I’m sure we just sent a loud signal,” said Ali A. Akbar, president of Viral Read’s parent company, Pundit Syndication LLC. “Robert Stacy McCain’s experience is going to firm our foundation as we creep closer to our official launch.”
Akbar, an influential young digital strategist and entrepreneur, emphasized the value of McCain’s 27 years of experience in both traditional and online media to ViralRead, a site that made its online debut last year, though will it officially launch at the beginning of spring.
“What first attracted us in acquiring Stacy’s online property was his unique ability to monetize his blog,” said Akbar, who will host a ViralRead party Saturday at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). “This is only the beginning.” . . .
You can read the whole thing at Viral Read. What this deal means going forward, and my reflections on the significance, will have to wait for later because (a) I’ve got to pack and head over to National Harbor for CPAC, and (b) there’s another news story that will go live in about half an hour.
Oh, the life of a busy New Media executive . . .
Even Cthulhu Needs A Change Of Laundry At The Thought Of Clinton/Obama 2016

As an act of terror designed to stimulate conservatives into action, it’s hard to exceed this goad:
Hillary Clinton hasn’t stepped into the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries yet and there’s already buzz growing for the ultimate grrl power ticket: Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama.
“All due respect for President Obama and Vice President Biden, but that would truly be a dream team for America,” said former Clinton spokeswoman Karen Finney. “Both women are proven effective leaders who’ve raise children, so dealing with Congress would be a snap!” added Finney, also a former Democratic Party spokeswoman.
“More than anything else, this reflects the growing awareness that it is time for the glass ceiling of the last old boys club to be firmly shattered,” added Democratic strategist Chris Lehane.
Well, at least the GOP elite can be relied upon to kneecap all of the female conservative talent, e.g. Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin.
The standard disclaimers apply:
- Hillary would have to outrun Benghazi
- Michelle would have to outrun her husband’s record.
- Both of them would have to outrun our economic collapse.
- 2014 is two very, very significant years prior to 2016.

#OccupyResoluteDesk: ‘I Take A Balanced Approach To Imbalanced Budgets’
Posted on | March 13, 2013 | 10 Comments
by Smitty
“Paul Ryan, today, put forward his budget,” says ABC, “and he says, he’s challenging you to come forward with a budget that also reaches balance. Are you going to do that?”
“No,” Obama says. “My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance,” Obama said. “My goal is, how do we grow the economy, put people back to work. And if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue.”
The more full quotation is via The Blaze.
What’s fascinating about this is the attempt to sound reasonable about a fundamentally unreasonable proposition. It’s like telling your spouse: “If I just focus on getting my leg over with enough others to grow sufficiently bored chasing tail, I’ll satisfy myself that there is no one better than you, love.”
Ryan taking 10 years (a decade!) to balance the budget is not a case of “chas[ing] a balanced budget just for the sake of balance”. Such would balancing the budget in one or two years via highly disruptive reforms to, well, everything. This blog bows to Ryans superior wonkiness in terms of knowing what’s possible.
So for BHO to dismiss Ryan on motive, as though balance was somehow a lower priority in its own right, is deeply offensive. May you be hoisted on your mendacious petard, Mr. President.

Future Kentucky Sen. Puffy Face: Everything She Doesn’t Like Is Rape
Posted on | March 12, 2013 | 19 Comments
She’ll have fun running in Kentucky on this platform:
Using graphic language in an opinion piece about “conflict minerals,” potential U.S. Senate candidate Ashley Judd in 2010 accused those who buy Apple products of “financing mass rape.”
“Apple is known for the clean lines of their products, the alluring simplicity of their designs,” Judd wrote in the article. “Dare I . . . go so far . . . as to suggest…this signature cleanness is stained by the shit and urine of raped women’s leaking fistulas?”
Judd, the Hollywood actress and liberal activist considering a run as a Democrat for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky, made the comments in an article on her website, which is titled “Costs of Convenience.”
Judd wrote the piece while visiting the Congo in August 2010 in an attempt to draw attention to “conflict minerals” — resources mined in places where conflict or human rights abuses are prevalent.
In recent years, Apple has emphasized publicly and on its website that the company is “committed to using conflict-free minerals.”
But in 2010, Judd wrote that while she enjoys a variety of Apple products — iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac Book Air — she is concerned about whether the minerals used to produce them are “conflict minerals.”
“My electronics, received as gifts or purchased, profit armed militias and support slavery,” Judd wrote. “I am financing mass rape as I enjoy these ridiculously Global North ultra-efficiencies and conveniences, for large scale rape is the preferred predation mining interests use to humiliate and terrify local populations, in order to control resource areas.”
Read the whole thing. I agree with Glenn Reynolds: Let’s wait until Puffy Face wins the Democrat nomination before we destroy her.
Godless Commie Cockroaches Want Gun Control, Just Like Zombies Want Brains

What does not seem to have sunk in so much on the Right is that these Godless Commies are truly offended by the notion of individual liberty, personal sovereignty, and the Bill of Rights, right down to the bottoms of the Godless Little Commie Ponds they call hearts.
The Captain’s Journal warns that not all of those Godless Commies have a D after their names:
Ammoland has two extremely depressing reports. We already knew that Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan were pretend conservatives with plans to cave on universal background checks. This first report makes it sound even worse.
Whoops! There goes a Virginian. I want to leave open the possibility of a benefit of the doubt. That is, if there is some other goal afoot here (recall, the GOP is on defense until at least 2014) to explain why an apparent ‘caving’ may be afoot.
More worrisome is the Power Line post:
In an interview with Jason Mattera which was conducted last month but is just now hitting the news, Democratic Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky admitted that the Democrats’ effort to ban “assault weapons” is “just the beginning.”
One more piece brings us back to the Old Dominion, where Retire Jim Moran reports on Virginia’s poster child for completely jacked up Federal representation, ‘Gentleman’ Jim Moran:
Moran spent the last half hour answering questions from citizens – minus the “answering” part. He rushed people through their questions, then gave a non-answer, answered a strawman, or just blatantly moved to the next person without any response.
Update: here is a condensed version of the video above:
This blog must echo Darleen Click’s lament concerning the sheer mendouchous twatwafflery on display, and in the same context.
You know what we need to be at “just the beginning”? We need not only to oppose these Godless Commie creeps, but to help them understand that their Godless Commie creepery will have negative electoral consequences for them. Our Bill of Rights ought not to be a battleground, where Godless Commies are continually attacking, and slowly grinding down our liberty. We need to throw them back to Northern Elbonia, and start hammering them there.
Let’s make 2014 the year we went on offense against Godless Commies of all parties.
Cannibal Cop Convicted

To protect and serve — and also, eat:
A New York City police officer was convicted Tuesday of charges he plotted to kidnap and cook women to dine on their “girl meat” — a macabre case that subjected jurors to often gory evidence and asked them to separate fantasy from reality.
The jury reached the verdict in federal court at the kidnapping conspiracy trial of Officer Gilberto Valle, a 28-year-old father with an admitted fetish for talking on the Internet about cannibalism.
So, in New York City, the cops want to eat people. But the Mayor of New York City is more worried about you drinking a Big Gulp.
