World’s Youngest Blogger: Make 04 July 2013 Even Better
Posted on | July 4, 2012 | 11 Comments
This is my first Fourth of July.
I’m too young to vote, so I can’t really do much about he current crisis this November.
Thus, I must wield my power as the Secretary of Cute to influence patriotic Americans to give the country a chance to recover, starting in November. It’s not just the White House, but the Senate, the House, and every State office. My generation needs voters to push back the forces of Progressive, statist slavery and restore liberty.
As that famous political philosopher, Robin Williams, said:
“Politicians are a lot like diapers; they should be changed frequently, and for the same reason.”

Via Sissy Willis on Twitter, Quinn Hillyer points out at AmSpec just how wretched an abortion is ObamaDon’tCare. In particular, the roots of the the Senate circumstances go back to 2006:
. . .the Washington Post had to succeed in its unprecedentedly and viciously unfair coverage of the U.S. Senate race in Virginia, both capitalizing on Sen. George Allen’s missteps (he ran a terrible campaign) and skewing the “news” relentlessly against him even when he didn’t make mistakes. Had he not lost by a tiny 8,805-vote margin, there is no way he would have voted for Obamacare, which therefore — cue the refrain — would have failed by one vote. . .even if none of the other, subsequent abominations (as we will discuss) were forestalled.
Read the whole thing, and bookmark it for reference.
Conversely, Kate Obenshain details what a disaster Tim Kaine would prove, if elected:
George Allen for Senate
Tim Kaine is just Barack Obama’s meat puppet. Let Obama and Kaine take their Wayland and Madame act to Vegas, or something.

Good News: Butt-Hurt Is Not Fatal
Posted on | July 4, 2012 | 68 Comments
FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
You may remember that on June 25 I published a post called “Healing Butt-Hurt: Theory and Practice,” in which I mentioned “the storm of infighting and recriminations among bloggers over the Kimberlin saga, an unfortunate development that has been a distraction and an emotional drain for the past several weeks.”
One of the things I’d done on June 24 — the day before I published that post — was to send an e-mail to Seth “Socrates” Allen, the first guy to get sued by Brett Kimberlin. Some of the people involved in trying to fight back against Kimberlin said they’d been getting nothing but hostility from Seth, which made no sense to me at all.
So I sent Seth an e-mail explaining that his attitude seemed to me a bad idea, and said that I had discarded (at least for the duration of this fight) my own personal grudges:
Let me stress an important point here: Until I got into this thing a month ago, I had been at odds with Patterico going back to 2009, for reasons it is not necessary to describe now. I had also experienced a conflict with Aaron, and furthermore had not been much of a fan of Lee Stranahan. (I had some quarrel with Lee’s blogging about WeinerGate.)
Given the gravity of the situation — the importance of this story — I have nonetheless resolved to put aside all personal considerations, welcoming every ally without regard to any previous disagreement. In fact, I’ve repeatedly found myself compelled to referee disputes among some of these allies who seem more eager to settle grudges between themselves than to keep up the fight against Kimberlin & Co.
In light of my own experiences, then, I am mystified to see you publicly quarreling with potential allies. Whatever wrongs you have previously suffered from these would-be allies, or whatever criticisms you have of other people’s involvement in this matter, by any measure would seem minor and irrelevant, in comparison to the great good that could be achieved if we were all cooperating.
So anyway, Seth decided Tuesday it would be a good idea to publish that e-mail with the title, “Robert Stacy McCain Exposed as Card Carrying Member of the Breitbart Cult.” Exactly how offering friendly advice qualifes as something that must be “exposed,” I don’t know.
But there are a lot of things I don’t know, and it’s late at night, so I’m too tired to explain everything I meant to explain here. The “storm of infighting and recriminations” continues unabated, and earlier this week I accidentally contributed to it myself. Mea culpa.
I’ll try to rectify my errors tomorrow or maybe Thursday, if I live that long. I just got word tonight that Ray Minner died.
You probably didn’t know Ray Minner, but he was a good man, and his daughter taught high school English to two of my children. Death has a way of putting other bummers in perspective.

Soldier’s Angels: Anybody Want To Get Wrecked In A Game Of Cribbage?

Soldier’s Angels is a fine charity. Since I’m not traipsing about the Hindu Kush, dressed like a modern centurion, sweating my hoo-hah off this year, it seems like time to get with the program.
This blog would like to do something outlandish, unusual, and totally Navy. I will crush all comers with a ferocity that would make Conan the Barbarian look like he’s gearing up for Bronycon by comparison. Here’s how the challenge works:
- You go to cue me on Twitter or email that you’d really, really like to make a Solider’s Angels donation.
- You meet me on games.com.
- You get flogged relentlessly about the head and shoulders.
- Loser (that’s you) is on their honor to donate $1/point by which they lose to Soldier’s Angels.
Stand by to get beat. In particular, I’d like to call out that noxious knuckle-dragger, The Troglopundit. That guy just ain’t packin’ the gear.

Dan Riehl, quite bravely announced his heterosexuality to the world. Perhaps he was motivated by Anderson Cooper. I would just like the world to know that I, too, am every bit the heterosexual monogamist one would expect by default. What can I say? I’m to lazy to tomcat about. Also, form follows function. There is a certain obvious, cause/effect nature to it all. It tickles the engineer in me that things work about as you would expect. Call it common sense.
I suppose I can understand perversion; the need to turn something on its head. I once coded some Visual Basic modules inside of an MS Access application to think that they were the Server, Request, and Response objects for Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). That’s pre .Net code, for you whipper snappers. Then there was this really tortured, nested VBA.Replace() call through which all of the code modules passed while being pushed out to .vbs files, so that the VBA could execute as VBScript on the web server. Think of it as a sex change.
But that’s source code. Silly putty. Can I translate wild software hijinks into the 120 Days of Sodom? Nah. I’m too boring.
Relationships are about relaxation. Lowering stress. My marriage is a refuge, a retreat from a broken, wacky world. The little boy who turns 1 year old this month is a refreshment and renewal.
That’s about it. Just wanted to come out and say, to those who insist on trying it every way under the sun: judge the tree by the fruit. And if your approach lacks even the potential for fruit, it is possible that you’re going about it incorrectly. At little self-judgement is a key ingredient to improvement.
Update: no, I’m not, Daily Pundit.
Brandon Darby Defamed by Kimberlin Associate Neal Rauhauser; Pursues ‘All Legal Remedies’ Against SWATting Charge
Posted on | July 3, 2012 | 28 Comments
FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Breitbart.com columnist Brandon Darby plans to pursue a defamation lawsuit against a Democratic political consultant who accused Darby of perpetrating so-called “SWATtings” that have targeted several conservative activists in the past year.
Darby says that Neal Rauhauser falsely accused him of involvement in SWATtings, a dangerous type of illegal hoax that results in armed law enforcement raids against innocent individuals. News of Rauhauser’s accusation, and of Darby’s planned response, was announced today in a press release from the National Bloggers Club.
“Darby is being defamed by this dangerous, bizarre fringe activist because he has dared to speak the name ‘Brett Kimberlin,’ is a member of the National Bloggers Club, and associated with Andrew [Breitbart],” the Club’s president Ali Akbar said in the press release (full text below).
Kimberlin, a convicted domestic terrorist who founded two progressive non-profit organizations, has repeatedly filed lawsuits and other legal complaints against bloggers who wrote about Kimberlin’s criminal past. In May, blogger Aaron Walker was arrested after a Maryland hearing in a case involving Kimberlin. Walker was also the target of a SWATting last month.
Rauhauser is a political operative who co-founded the Democrat consulting firm Progressive PST. Rauhauser has described Kimberlin as a “client” and, in e-mails and blog comments, represented himself as an agent of Kimberlin’s non-profit 501(c)4 group, Velvet Revolution.
Akbar said that the National Bloggers Club will “encourage Darby to use all legal remedies in this clear case of defamation,” including the possibility of “pursuing criminal conspiracy” charges against Rauhauser.
UPDATE: Rauhauser’s association with Kimberlin apparently began a year ago, after Rauhauser became obsessed with the cybersex scandal involving Rep. Anthony Weiner, which forced the formerly popular New York Democrat to resign from Congress.
Mike Stack, a New Jersey man who played a role in exposing the so-called WeinerGate scandal, was SWATted in June 2011. A week later, Patrick Frey (who had written extensively about the Weiner case) was SWATted at his Los Angeles home. Red State editor Erick Erickson, who had written about the Kimberlin case, reported that he was SWATted in May, and Aaron Walker was SWATted June 25 after he won a Maryland courtroom victory against Kimberlin. Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Texas Rep. Kenny Marchant and more than 85 House Republicans called on Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the SWATtings.
UPDATE II: Kimberlin’s Velvet Revolution non-profit gained publicity after the 2004 election by leveling accusations of vote-rigging by Republicans. A January 2007 Time magazine article noted that Kimberlin had “found a home in the blogosphere” by “repeatedly asserting as fact things that are not true.” Kimberlin’s organization has also made charges of criminal wrongdoing against such public figures as GOP political strategist Karl Rove, U.S. Chamber of Commerce president Tom Donohue and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
In October 2010, Kimberlin was the subject of a 3,600-word feature article by Breitbart.com contributor Mandy “Liberty Chick” Nagy. Subsequently, Kimberlin threatened to sue both Nagy and Patrick “Patterico” Frey, and filed a lawsuit against progressive blogger Seth Allen, who had been an outspoken critic of Kimberlin and Velvet Revolution at several liberal Web sites.
Kimberlin became the subject of widespread interest last month after Aaron Walker published a 28,000-word account describing how he says Kimberlin tried to “frame” him for assault. On May 29, Walker was briefly arrested after a Maryland court hearing in which Judge C.J. Vaughey ruled that Walker’s blogging constituted a violation of a peace order obtained by Kimberlin. Judge Vaughey’s ruling has been widely denounced as an infringement of First Amendment rights, and is being appealed in both Maryland and federal courts.

* PRESS RELEASE FROM NATIONAL BLOGGERS CLUB *
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2, 2012
Contact: Ali A. Akbar, [email protected] (emails will be reviewed by system and then a volunteer), (888) 308-3606, ext. 4
AUSTIN, TX — Democratic operative and self-proclaimed “hacker” Neal Rauhauser has accused Brandon Darby of “SWATting.” Darby is a political activist and former FBI operative.
Darby has the full support of the National Bloggers Club, an organization that represents hundreds of bloggers and online journalists. The Club will raise funds (using KimberlinFiles.org) and encourage Darby to use all legal remedies in this clear case of defamation and explore pursuing criminal conspiracy options.
“Convicted domestic terrorist turned left-wing ideologue activist Brett Kimberlin runs two liberal non-profit organizations. His contracted employee, Neal Rauhauser, has accused one of our members of being the perpetrator of these illegal, coordinated attacks. We are standing with our members, many of whom — myself included — have been targeted by supporters of Brett Kimberlin,” said National Bloggers Club President Ali A. Akbar.
Akbar continued, “Darby is being defamed by this dangerous, bizarre fringe activist because he has dared to speak the name “Brett Kimberlin,” is a member of the National Bloggers Club, and associated with Andrew. Andrew associated himself with the Bloggers Club, I’ll associate the Club with Darby any day of the week.”
SWATting is the term used to describe the illegal use of technology to place an untraceable emergency call to falsely report a serious, violent crime. The caller typically gives the emergency dispatcher the address and personal information belonging to the victim, claiming that people in the house have been shot and that the caller is armed inside the home. By protocol, law enforcement then sends armed officers to the scene. Last week, after winning a courtroom victory in Maryland against Kimberlin, blogger Aaron Walker was targeted by a SWATting call that sent police to his Virginia home.
“Thank God no one has been killed as a result of SWATting — yet. I strongly believe the continued use of these tactics will result in a horrible tragedy — which is exactly what the perpetrators want,” said Akbar.

Freedom Is Under Attack: Help the National Bloggers Club Fight Back
Posted on | July 3, 2012 | 24 Comments
FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Several Twitter accounts associated with the Brett Kimberlin/Neal Rauhauser axis unleashed a torrent of attacks yesterday against Ali Akbar and the National Bloggers Club. Exactly what prompted those attacks, I’m not sure, but the National Bloggers Club has given important support to Aaron Walker in his defense against Kimberlin’s “lawfare” harassment and now — a little birdie tells me — the Club is preparing to counterattack.
At the end of a post yesterday, I gave you a tiny hint of what’s coming, and will soon be able to tell you more.
For now, I urge you to contribute to the National Bloggers Club: $10, $20, $50 — whatever you can give, it’s for a good cause.
Tomorrow is Independence Day. Fight for your freedom.
