Could John Travolta Help Increase Barack Obama’s Marriage Policy Gayness?

Posted on | May 12, 2012 | 14 Comments

by Smitty

This is one that has to be sliced finely: I really don’t care, or want to know about, what consenting adults are up to in private. Hetero, homo, married, fornicating: I will defend to the death my commitment to ignorance about fluids, geometries, participants, accessories, and syndication agreements involved. I don’t wanna know.

But having a blog is about trying to help connect the dots; to raise awareness, even on topics where we lack personal enthusiasm; to organize community information so as to maximize synergistic convergence.

Thus, when American Power has a clip of Rand Paul expressing uncertainty aloud about whether #OccupyResoluteDesk’s view on marriage could get any gayer, I have to point Douglas to Althouse’s recounting of accusations against John Travolta. Not out of any personal, prurient interest, mind you: I’m strictly being a helpy helper-person here. It sounds like somebody could be spreading lurid rumors about Travolta in the name of garnering attention. If you find out, please refrain from telling me. I just don’t want to know.

Irony-Impaired Planned Parenthood Hosts Mother’s Day Fundraiser
UPDATE: New York Democrat Offers Another Ironic Suggestion!

Posted on | May 12, 2012 | 24 Comments

Do they lack a sense of irony? Or have no sense of shame?

As families across the nation gather to celebrate Mother’s Day, others will gather to support the abortion industry. Never one to miss a fundraising opportunity, a New York affiliate of Planned Parenthood is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch to support the clinic. . . .
This is not Planned Parenthood’s first attempt to raise money through Mother’s Day. Year after year, the abortion giant encourages supporters to donate on behalf of their mothers. . . .
The organization responsible for the death of over 300,000 children annually has no right to be raising money in honor of mothers. Abortion steals motherhood from women.

Remember this: If you were born after 1973, the Supreme Court of the United States has declared your life utterly worthless, without value, and deserving of no legal protection. That you are even alive to read this is therefore proof that God had some purpose for your life.

Why don’t you think about that? Ask yourself whether you, having miraculously survived despite the hatred of those who viewed your life with such vicious contempt, have a duty — indeed, an obligation of sacred honor — to speak up on behalf of those yet unborn.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
— Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

UPDATE: Democrat death-monger Kirsten Gillibrand wants you to honor Mother’s Day by giving to pro-abortion EMILY’s List. (Hat-tip: Life News and Jill Stanek.) Meanwhile, the author of the article about the Planned Parenthood brunch was excited to learn she’d been linked by Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin’s site.

Great: Corporate America Now Paying Democrats to Call Americans Racist

Posted on | May 12, 2012 | 20 Comments

One of the great truths of political life is this: Money is fungible.

Therefore, the Wall Street Journal headline, “Democrats’ Fund Taps Corporate Donors for Convention,” has profound significance when we consider what the Greedy Fat Cats are paying for.

House Democrats received training this week on how to address the issue of race to defend government programs, according to training materials obtained by The Washington Examiner.
The prepared content of a Tuesday presentation to the House Democratic Caucus and staff indicates that Democrats will seek to portray apparently neutral free-market rhetoric as being charged with racial bias, conscious or unconscious.

Read the rest of that article by Joel Gehrke, but only if you think you can handle the blood-boiling rage reaction it will almost certainly induce. Who paid for this “training”? And who funds the trainer, Maya Wiley of the Center for Social Inclusion? A glance at her organization’s 2010 annual report (PDF, see Page 13) lists many of the usual suspects, including George Soros’s Open Society Institute and the Soros-funded Tides Foundation. Surely there’s no need to do a Glenn Beck chalkboard talk to explain that, is there?

Yet what kind of vicious corporate swine would give a single penny to the Democratic Party, which deliberately seeks to warp public-policy debate with divisive racial rhetoric? Read more
