If that complaint seems absurd, how about the complaint made by Ann Curry on NBC’s Today Show?

“You know, it’s about those with money having an easier life than those who don’t. And there’s something fundamentally unfair about that. Because not everyone has access to being able to get money, to work for money.”

“Fairness,” defined as equality, means that everyone must be exactly the same. Everything must be split 50-50, even-Steven, or else whoever gets less is a victim of social injustice, unfairly oppressed and exploited by whoever gets more. Instapundit is therefore violating my civil rights!

Top Democrat Name-Checks ‘Koch Brothers’ in Fundraising Appeal

The executive director of the Democratic National Committee slammed Americans for Prosperity as a “mysterious, secretly funded, Koch-brothers-backed group” in a fundraising e-mail seeking contributions to help Democrats “fight back” and defend President Obama.

American Crossroads, a so-called “super PAC” led by conservatives including former Bush campaign strategist Karl Rove, was also targeted in the e-mail sent today by DNC executive director Patrick Gaspard.

“Remember the mysterious, secretly funded, Koch-brothers-backed group called Americans for Prosperity, which flushed millions into the 2010 election to help Tea Party Republicans take back the House?” Gaspard wrote in the e-mail (full text below). “This is the same group that, along with Sarah Palin, supported and rallied for Scott Walker’s fight in Wisconsin to strip union workers of collective bargaining rights. Well, they’re back — with a ‘multi-million dollar,’ ‘massive ad launch’ to slam President Obama. We could face some serious damage — unless we fight back right away.”

There is nothing secretive about American for Prosperity’s plans. A press release announcing the group’s ad campaign quoted AFP President Tim Phillips: “This new TV ad combined with our social media and boots on the ground approach pulls back the curtain on an important component of our strategy and focus this year. We’re going to be shining a spotlight on something so important, President Obama himself will be forced to take notice.” (See video of AFP ad below.) Read more

Media’s Lack of Accountability Now Blamed on ‘Right-Wing Bloggers’?

NBC officials are refusing to provide a full accounting — and name names of those responsible — for the misleading edit of the George Zimmerman 911 call. NBC’s editing created the false and inflammatory impression that Zimmerman had singled out Trayvon Martin on the basis of race. In fact, as the unedited audio of the call showed, Zimmerman was asked by the 911 operator about Martin’s race.

Dan Reihl at Big Journalism called attention to the deceptive edit a month ago. An NBC employee was then fired (but not named by the network) and now, according to the Miami Herald, a reporter/producer at NBC’s Miami affiliate, Jeff Burnside, has also been fired. John Sexton at Big Journalism culls this telling quote from the story:

“The network is very sensitive about the whole Al Sharpton/MSNBC issue, so when the right-wing bloggers started hammering, they needed to throw them fresh meat,” said the station source, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the controversy. “It’s not at all clear how this happened. Obviously, there was miscommunication.”

Wait a g–damned minute here: Has NBC so completely abandoned any pretense to basic accuracy in its reporting that the only reason they take disciplinary action is to throw “fresh meat” to “right-wing bloggers”? And isn’t it at the same time true, as Ace of Spades says, that the media have become so reliant on left-wing blogs that major news organizations routinely re-hash misleading or even blatantly false stories pushed by the online Left, while only rarely and reluctantly acknowledging stories originated by the online Right?

Isn’t this what the Elizabeth Flock story showed us? Notorious moonbat John Avarosis makes an outrageously irresponsible accusation — that Mitt Romney is recycling KKK slogans — and the Washington Post can’t even be bothered to verify it?

Journalism has evidently become so politicized that there is apparently no longer even any need for NBC News to pretend that it is engaged in anything other than partisan propaganda — even when, in the pursuit of an overtly political agenda, they are providing manufactured falsehoods to serve as fodder for dangerous racial demagoguery.

So if NBC reports complete dishonest bulls–t, that’s just fine. However, if “right-wing bloggers” start hammering, they’ll be thrown some “fresh meat” — a couple of low-level employees thrown under the bus — while folks in the executive suites at 30 Rock are never held accountable, or compelled to confront the fact that they have presided over the destruction of their own organization’s journalistic credibility.

‘Arab Spring’ Anniversary: Egypt Legalizes Sex With Dead Wives, Marriage at 14

Such legislation might have been predicted once the Islamic Brotherhood took charge:

Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives — for up to six hours after their death.
The controversial new law is part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament.
It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women’s rights of getting education and employment.

So if you’re an Egyptian guy and your 14-year-old wife turns you down for sex, just kill her and get “one for the road,” eh?
