Senate Ends Filibuster; Democrats Immediately Form Circular Firing Squad
Posted on | November 10, 2025 | 2 Comments

After a week of conservatives tearing each other apart over Tucker Carlson, etc., it’s nice to see the Democrats take their turn:
A backlash has been brewing against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for possibly striking a deal to end the government shutdown.
As reports surfaced on Sunday of a pending deal between Republicans and Democrats, opponents of the deal immediately voiced their disdain for Chuck Schumer on social media, accusing him of acquiescing to Republican demands. . . .
According to NBC News, the U.S. senators reached a “tentative deal” to end the government shutdown.
“Senators struck an agreement Sunday, projecting confidence that it will be sufficient to end the lengthy U.S. government shutdown, three sources with direct knowledge of the details told NBC News,” it reported.
“The agreement, reached by a group of Democrats who teamed up with Republicans, cleared the first hurdle on a vote of 60-40 to advance in a late-night Senate vote. If it’s approved, it would then need to pass the House and gain President Donald Trump’s signature to become law and reopen the government,” it added.
Later Sunday, the Senate voted to end the filibuster:
A disastrous shutdown for Democrats got worse Sunday when Senate Democrats folded on government funding while receiving nothing of substance in return.
Eight Senate Democrats voted with 52 Republicans Sunday night on a procedural vote to allow a continuing resolution (CR) funding the government to advance.
The motion passed 60 to 40, without a single vote to spare, and will enable a future vote on a clean continuing resolution through January 30, 2026, packaged with three relatively non-controversial appropriations bills extending through the fiscal year: agriculture, military construction-Veterans Affairs, and legislative branch.
The agreement includes back pay for federal employees and guarantees that the 4,000-plus federal employees laid off during the shutdown will be rehired, as well as a blanket prohibition on future reductions in force through January 30. Those jobs are a drop in the bucket compared to the 250,000 or so the Trump administration eliminated before the shutdown.
Most significantly, the agreement does not guarantee an extension of Covid-era enhanced Obamacare premium subsidies, with Democrats only receiving assurances of a vote on a bill of their choice.

— MAZE (@mazemoore) November 10, 2025
Chuck Schumer led Democrats in voting for the longest shutdown in history, and now they’re all denouncing him as a traitor:
Democrats and progressives exploded with outrage after the Senate took a giant step toward reopening the government Sunday night, with many calling for Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s ouster.
Schumer (D-NY), who voted against the bipartisan package to end the longest government shutdown in US history, was slammed for failing to prevent five Democratic defections that allowed the measure to advance, despite Republicans making no concessions on keeping Obamacare subsidies due to expire at the end of this year.
“Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) chided on X. “If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?”
“Tonight is another example of why we need new leadership,” jeered Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), who launched his primary challenge to Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) last month, on X. “If @ChuckSchumer were an effective leader, he would have united his caucus to vote ‘No’ tonight and hold the line on healthcare.
“Maybe now @EdMarkey will finally join me in pledging not to vote for Schumer [as conference leader after the 2026 elections]?”
Democrats have been acting this way for 20 years, going back to the G.W. Bush administration, which is when young leftists started calling themselves “progressives” to differentiate themselves from regular liberals (e.g., Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton) who had supported Bush on the Iraq war. Whenever a Republican is in the White House, the left wing of the Democratic Party — especially the always-online activist types — demand that Democrats in Congress fight! fight! fight!
This kind of maximum-resistance stance is easy for people whose only stake in the game is social media clicks, or for congressional Democrats elected from deep-blue states or districts. The problem comes in swing states and districts, where being a “common-sense” Democrat is much closer to what the voters want, and where voting to shut down the government makes you look like an extremist. One could speak of similar tendencies on the Republican side, but Democrats have been wrecked time and time again by this fight! fight! fight! mentality — they won a congressional majority in 2006, then lost the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2014. Four years later, Democrats won a majority again in the 2018 midterms, only to lose both the House and Senate in 2022.
So now, having demanded that Schumer and the Senate shut down the government — while trying to blame Republicans — now the “progressive” grassroots of the Democratic Party are ready to ditch Schumer because he ended the shutdown without getting anything substantial as a consequence. It’s a beautiful thing, to watch your enemies waging war against each other. Let’s hope they keep it up.
The government shutdown cave might be the end of Chuck Schumer as Senate leader. Whether he secretly encouraged the deal to end the shutdown or was too weak to stop it, he needs to take the fall to keep Democrats united. https://t.co/WxJy5g3yBJ

AOC reportedly called Chuck Schumer tonight, and according to a source close to the conversation, berated him for over an hour in an expletive-laden call. At several points, she called him a “weak beta btch,” “fcking useless,” and vowed to take his job.

Andrew Torba’s Plan To Reenact The Fall of Singapore
Posted on | November 9, 2025 | 2 Comments
— by Wombat-socho
Last week I linked to an editorial post by Andrew Torba at Gab, “Us or Them”, which I gave serious thought to tagging with the reminder that linking doesn’t signify approval. Instead I decided to lay out my problems with that post here, in the hope of stimulating further discussion and doing my part to stem the tide of antisemitic drivel that bedevils the Grand Old Party.
I know we have problems
We got problems right here in Central City
We have problems on the North, South, East and West
New York City, Saint Louis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago…
-Alice Cooper, “Elected”
Torba seems to have a major problem with the priorities of President Trump and the Republican Congress (which as any intelligent person knows, aren’t necessarily the same) and certainly, I agree that the Administration seems to be repeating Bush the Younger’s mistake of putting foreign affairs before domestic issues. On the other hand, straightening out the mess created by Joe Biden’s handlers while contending with assholes in the judiciary and neo-nullificationist ponces like Newsom, Priztker, Kotek, Healey et al -to say nothing of obstructionist scum in the Federal bureaucracy- is a full-time job by itself, and in the meantime things keep happening beyond our borders that we have to pay attention to.
Where I part company with Torba is that like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes, he’s convinced that our problem is DA JOOOOS. Never mind the billions being poured into our universities and erstwhile “conservative” influencers by Qatar. Never mind the ongoing purchases of farmland, biowarfare against our farmers, and infiltration of the universities by the Red Chinese. Pay no mind to the rising problem of Muslim penetration of American politics and jihadi attacks in our major cities. No, the REAL problem facing America is leftist donors to Democrat/radical causes who have Jewish genes. Never mind that most of these putzes haven’t darkened the door of a synagogue since they were teenagers, and if they have it’s the worldly heretical temples of the Reform/Reconstructionist deviates, it’s the evil JOOOOS that we must fight!
Bunkum, I say. Balderdash. I respect Torba’s accomplishments in building and growing Gab when seemingly every man’s hand was against him. He got debanked. The Gab app was kicked off the Apple and Google app stores. He never gave up, and for that I salute him. But in this case he’s dreadfully wrong. Like General Percival, he has all his guns pointed in the wrong direction. He has fallen prey to the faulty logic of Father Coughlin, inveighing against an imaginary threat while the real threats sneak through the jungles and prepare to slit his throat. I will pray for Andrew Torba and his followers, that their eyes are opened and they see the truth. We have a lot more to fear from the Communist/Islamic bloc than from Israel and its supporters, and following the sirens of Tucker Qatarlson & that gay Mexican dork is absolutely the wrong plan to follow.

Apocalyptic Timeline Update
Posted on | November 9, 2025 | Comments Off on Apocalyptic Timeline Update

The YouTube preacher known as ‘Squirrel’
Have you forgotten “The Craziest True Crime Story Ever”? In March 2024, my brother Kirby called my attention to a bizarre tale from Cimarron County in the Oklahoma Panhandle, where five people were arrested in connection with the murder of two women, the result of a child custody dispute over the grandchildren of the local Republican Party chairwoman. Then there was the “cult” angle:
Tifany-with-one-n Adams was friends with Cole Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44. Along with Adams and her boyfriend, Tad Cullom, 43, the Twomblys were allegedly “part of an anti-government religious group known as God’s Misfits.’ Regular meetings are said to have occurred at the Twombly’s home.” Their membership in this group is disputed, as is the claim of an “anti-government” motive, by none other than the leader of God’s Misfits, a biker from South Carolina known as Squirrel. . . .
The description of “God’s Misfits” as a group is perhaps misleading. Squirrel has a website, a Facebook page and a YouTube channel that comprise what he calls his “online ministry.” His most recent YouTube video, uploaded in February [2024], was based on II Thessalonians 2:3-7 and, like much of his other content, was focused on the interpretation of end-times prophecy. You may not care for eschatology lectures from an untutored biker, but in terms of reading “the signs of the times,” let he who has ears hear! “Let’s talk about what’s going on in the world now,” Squirrel said, talking about the “bloodthirsty terrorists” who attacked Israel. Could this be interpreted as an event of apocalyptic significance?
“Squirrel” saw the 10/7 attack in 2023 as a sign of the times, an omen of the Last Days, and who am I to say he was wrong? Early this morning, someone on X (formerly known as Twitter) put up a post about the Oklahoma Panhandle that caused me to revisit the tale of Squirrel and “God’s Misfits,” and it occurred to me to construct this timeline:
- October 7, 2023: Hamas attacks Israel.
- June 27, 2024: Biden-Trump debate.
- July 21, 2024: Biden withdraws, anoints Kamala Harris.
- November 5, 2024: Trump defeats Harris.
- January 20, 2025: Trump begins second term.
- June 22, 2025: U.S. strikes Iran nuclear sites.
- September 10, 2025: Charlie Kirk assassinated in Utah.
- October 9, 2025: Hamas accepts Gaza cease-fire agreement.
We might add other events to this timeline, but my point is that if you were prone to seek prophetic omens in daily news events, there have been a lot of things happening in the past couple of years that may strike you as potentially significant. We live in an age of radicalization, where the decline of institutional authority and the rise of alternative information sources result in the formation of cliques and factions, each existing inside online echo chambers of voices feeding their confirmation bias.
Why is Nick Fuentes suddenly so newsworthy? Look at that timeline again. Do you see that there have been a lot of events that might produce psychological stress? As I say, many other events could be added to that timeline, and it doesn’t matter what problem it is you’re worried about, the repeated shocks to your mental framework could be traumatic, leaving you with feelings of Fear and Loathing, distrust and suspicion.
Some people are better equipped than others in terms of coping with stress, but even those of us capable of maintaining our sanity in these crazy days may experience certain stress-related symptoms. For example, it’s been four days since I last published a post here, but in those four days I have started and abandoned several drafts of posts I wanted to write, being distracted before I could bring them to completion. Then I have to resist the urge to beat myself up for my lack of productivity, and so forth. Ultimately, I must recognize these symptoms for what they are, and just try to keep myself from being dragged down into a condition of helpless frustration. Depression is bad, but the other side of the bipolar equation — a full-blown manic episode — is much more to be feared.
This is really the threat that faces us in America right now. Some weak-minded people, unable to cope with the stress, and pushed into a condition of rage and despair by an online diet of negative messages, will surrender to the manic urge to do something about whatever it is they’re obsessed with. That’s basically the story of accused assassin Tyler James Robinson, just as it was the story of Robert Gregory Bowers, who committed the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre in 2018.
Of course, it’s one thing to view such events as evidence of mental illness (“Crazy People Are Dangerous”), but others may see them as manifestations of satanic influence — and far be it from me to deny this possibility. Whichever way you see it, each time something like this happens, there is the risk of ripple effects, as other unstable people may be encouraged to commit copycat attacks. Take care of yourself, stay safe, and in the meantime, give me some encouragement.
Yes, it’s the Big Yellow Button again. Some readers may be near-sighted, and I occasionally feel the need to enlarge the PayPal contribution button, just to make my need a bit more visible. For the sake of my mental health, I’m feeling an urge to go to a local eatery this afternoon, where I can relax in front of a big screen TV and watch Mac Jones and the 49ers take on their NFC West division rivals, the L.A. Rams.
Mac Jones will officially make his 8th start of the season on Sunday against the Rams pic.twitter.com/EMPf5fNfc5

The last time Mac Jones played against the Rams pic.twitter.com/wuRzp3vSnH
— Coach Yac ? (@Coach_Yac) November 9, 2025
Some people are worried about their health insurance premiums, but my preferred therapeutic intervention doesn’t require a doctor’s prescription. The industrious descendants of D. G. Yuengling have been providing excellent products since 1829, and I’m certain that some portion of the output of Pottsville, Pennsylvania ($6.50 for a tall draft) could help my current condition. Along with a serving of fish and chips ($13.99), and a victory for the Niners, this would cure what ails me.
With hope for a brighter future amid troubling times, once again I remind you of the Five Most Important Words in the English Language:
