The pathetic old fool has lost whatever sense of dignity he ever had:

Joe Biden’s apparent penchant for pandering to minority voters as a political tactic is insulting, and some of his remarks while campaigning in the South are “disgusting,” according to National Review Online’s Deroy Murdock.
On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the host played a clip of Biden’s latest campaign ad, which is running in South Carolina. The former Vice President appears to adopt a slight southern drawl and borrows a famous gospel lyric from the Rev. James Cleveland.
“We don’t feel no ways tired — We’ve come too far from where we started from. Nobody told us the road would be easy,” Biden says over a montage of images and video clips, before closing the ad by saying: “Let’s take back this country now.” . . .
Murdock focused on Biden’s comments and ones he has made in the past, saying that black voters will not receive the statements as the ex-vice president intends.
“I’m fascinated by this idea that when Democrats run to the south they have to adopt southern accents,” he said, adding that Hillary Clinton has done the same thing.
Murdock then recalled what he considered an especially “disgusting” comment by Biden when the then-vice president was stumping for President Obama’s reelection in 2012. At a speech in Danville, Va., Biden claimed to an audience that included many African-Americans that if Mitt Romney and the Republicans won the election, they would “put y’all back in chains” by loosening restrictions on financial institutions.
“It’s like outtakes from ‘Gone With the Wind’ — very odd, very inappropriate and very stupid,” said Murdock.

Comparing Joe Biden to Gone With the Wind is an insult to Margaret Mitchell, whose personal sympathy toward African-Americans was expressed through her anonymous contributions to Atlanta’s historically black Morehouse College. Furthermore, while Biden is engaged in dishonest pandering, Mitchell’s novel was an accurate reflection of the cultural attitudes of the generation that fought the War for Southern Independence. As I’ve often remarked, if you think the movie version of Gone With the Wind is racist, you should read the book, from which certain scenes had to be omitted as too shocking even in 1939. If you haven’t read the book, you don’t know why, for example, Tony Fontaine murdered the Yankee carpetbagger Jonas Wilkerson:

“My God, Scarlett O’Hara!” said Tony peevishly. “When I start out to cut somebody up, you don’t think I’ll be satisfied with scratching him with the blunt side of my knife, do you? No, by God, I cut him to ribbons.”

And certainly, Wilkerson deserved it. The way things were in the old days, a man didn’t file a lawsuit or summon the police to settle affronts to his personal honor, and Southerners were keenly sensitive about such things. My Aunt Barbara said of my Fincher ancestors that their westward migration from the Carolinas to Alabama tended to follow such incidents. A fellow who got on the wrong side of a young Fincher would end up dead, and the hot-tempered killer would be off to the frontier before the sheriff could catch up with him. Why do you think Texans are such a rowdy people? The state was notorious as a haven for Southern fugitives, so that the phrase “gone to Texas” acquired a particular meaning.

Unlike the pandering Joe Biden, Margaret Mitchell was authentic, having grown up in Atlanta as the granddaughter of a Confederate army captain, and hearing war stories in her childhood:

“I heard everything in the world except that the Confederates lost the war. When I was ten years old, it was a violent shock to learn that General Lee had been defeated. I didn’t believe it when I first heard it and I was indignant.”

Well, “old times there are not forgotten,” as the song says, but for Joe Biden to be doing an absurd minstrel-show “civil rights” act in a desperate effort to save his campaign is a shame and a disgrace. Really, the entire Democratic Party has become a shame and a disgrace, and I should be angry about it, but frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

They Can’t Blame Trump for This

THE END OF THE WORLD is upon us, as Coronavirus, an apocalyptic locust plague and the conflict between Iran and the US fulfils the prophecy for Jesus’ Second Coming, according to outrageous claims among Biblical scholars.
The deadly disease has now claimed the lives of more than 1,300 people in China and is threatening to become a global pandemic, while conflict in Iran and the African locust invasion have the Middle East on high alert. But, Biblical scholar Melvin Sandelin, has urged viewers on his “Christian Life” YouTube channel not to fear, claiming it is just part of the process for the return of Jesus Christ. Mr Sandellin wildly suggested coronavirus is “just one of the examples” that the End Times prophecy is “being fulfilled” and he is not alone in his thinking. . . .
“As the whole world is sucked into this media-furled fear for the coronavirus, Jesus said ‘don’t fear’.
“These things must happen, they are a sign of what is soon to come, Jesus is coming back soon.”
Meanwhile, a locust swarm “as big as a major city” is wreaking havoc in Africa and experts say it could grow 400 times the size by June, spreading to Uganda, South Sudan and further North, threatening the Middle East. . . .
A pastor in Kenya’s capital said he was asking for God’s forgiveness following the invasion earlier this month.
He said: “It is not normal that the country has been invaded by desert locusts and having rain in the month of January.
“I am here to repent our sins and ask God for forgiveness because something is wrong somewhere and also ask God for His visitation.
“God bless you all, call the Lord and he will hear your prayers.” . . .
The popular Christian novelist Joel Rosenberg, who in recent years has led trips of evangelical leaders to meet with leaders in the Middle East, said that while he is cautious about saying that prophecies from the Bible are unfolding right now, he takes those forecasts from the Old and New Testaments seriously.
He interprets biblical texts such as Ezekiel 38, which describes a forthcoming war, as meaning that Iran will ally with Russia and attack Israel.

Also, there’s this terrible portent of forthcoming doom.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) hit fellow Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg on Thursday, taking aim specifically at his recently resurfaced comments he made in 2008 about the controversial practice known as redlining.
“Now this has been some presidential primary already. We’ve been going about this for about a year,” Warren said during a packed town hall in the Washington, D.C., suburb.
“Some people got in a little later than others. Michael Bloomberg got in on the billionaire plan,” she said to widespread boos from the audience.
She then went on to address 2008 comments resurfaced by The Associated Press, in which Bloomberg said that the end of redlining contributed to the financial crisis.
The practice involves banks discriminating against racial minorities looking to take out loans in an effort to afford homes. Those specific communities were identified by redlines on maps.
“Michael Bloomberg is saying, in effect, that the 2008 financial crash was caused because the banks weren’t permitted to discriminate against black and brown people,” Warren said.
“I want to be clear,” she continued. “That crisis would not have been averted if the banks had been able to be bigger racists, and anyone who thinks that should not be the leader of our party.”

Of course, what Bloomberg said about “redlining” and the financial crisis, like his defense of “stop and frisk,” was just the facts. Banks were under pressure to demonstrate that they were not discriminating against minorities, and this resulted in a lowering of lending standards. Bloomberg was not advocating racial discrimination, he was merely explaining how the history of discrimination and the efforts of finanical institutions to compensate for past wrongs were a crucial factor in what went wrong during the housing “bubble.” But facts don’t matter in a Democratic primary campaign. What does matter is (a) Warren’s campaign is doomed, and (b) on her way to oblivion, she’s taking a shot at the guy who many Democrats see as their best hope to beat Trump:

Establishment Democrats who had hoped that Michael Bloomberg could ride to their rescue might need to start looking for another plan. The former New York mayor got kneecapped this week when recordings surfaced of his previous remarks about race, crime, and economics that make Bloomberg look guilty of the kind of “hate” that Democrats routinely accuse Republicans of perpetrating. Desperate to stop socialist Bernie Sanders from winning the party’s presidential nomination, Democrats are now reckoning with the consequences of their habitual rhetoric of racial blame.
Having endorsed the anti-police agenda of the “Black Lives Matter” movement, Democrats won’t find it easy to defend Bloomberg’s record as mayor. Even if the billionaire’s lavish spending could buy him the party’s nomination — an untested proposition — Bloomberg’s record on racial issues would make it difficult for him to play the race card against President Trump in the general election campaign. Does anyone really think Democrats can win without the race card? . . .

On January 23, 2020, Bloomsbury Academic published a call to action for all those who care about “climate change.” The Ahuman Manifesto: Activism for the End of the Anthropocene by Patricia MacCormack, a professor of continental philosophy at Angelia Ruskin University, cuts to the chase and advocates for the ultimate solution to global warming: The end of the human race. For MacCormack, “Extinction Rebellion” has a whole different meaning.
MacCormack admits to being an “occultist magician.” She has actually given lectures — often in a get-up that is either supposed to be emulating a witch and bearing an eerie resemblance to the costumes we see frequently at Drag Queen Storytime — on the “invocation” or “convocation” of demons, which she says is an important feminist or queer practice. Invoking demons, she says, is not entirely risk-free, because “madness is as likely as ecstasy.” She says all of this entirely unironically.

MacCormack is a native of Australia whose academic specialties include:

Continental philosophy, especially Deleuze, Guattari, Foucault, Blanchot, Irigaray, Serres and Lyotard
Sexuality and queer theory
Feminism
Ethics
Post-human theory
Animal studies
European horror film, especially German Expressionism and Italian horror of the 1960s-1980s

Also: “In 2013 she was a visiting Leverhulme Fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara,” because of course taxpayer-funded universities in America have an obligation to offer fellowships to crazy feminists from around the world. And, yes, she practices the occult. She is “co-founder of the occult-inspired club night Occulture in London.”

An Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) author believes she has solved the problem of over-population – by allowing humanity to become extinct through ending procreation.
Dr Patricia MacCormack, professor of continental philosophy at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), has even invented a new term for a post-human world: the “ahuman” will avoid ecological collapse by “going beyond binaries of human and not human”, according to ‘The Ahuman Manifesto’ which is launched in Cambridge this week.
“Far from advocating mass death, genocide or eugenics, my manifesto is antinatalist,” says Dr MacCormack. “It boycotts human reproduction due to the damage humans have perpetrated on the Earth and its other inhabitants.
“The manifesto simply asks that humans no longer reproduce – no life is lost, no being is mourned. If we no longer reproduce, we can care for all inhabitants already here, human and non-human, as well as care for the Earth itself by mitigating the damage already caused. It’s an activism of care.”

Human existence is bad. That’s what parents are paying universities to teach their children: “Hurry up and die, because global warming.”

Clear evidence of judicial malpractice:

The foreperson on the jury that convicted Roger Stone has come forward, and is revealed to be a failed Democrat candidate for Congress and activist vehemently opposed to President Donald Trump.
Tomeka Hart, a former Memphis City Schools Board President, came forward as the Stone jury foreperson in a Facebook post on Wednesday, voicing support for prosecutors in the case.
Hart confirmed to The Daily Memphian that she wrote the Facebook post, but she declined an interview with the newspaper.
Stone supporters were shocked when a review of Hart’s social media posts showed that she posted on Twitter mocking Stone’s dramatic arrest prior to being seated on the jury, and frequently denounced Trump, including calling the president and his supporters racists.
It’s unclear whether Stone’s political views and social media history were disclosed during jury selection, potentially raising questions about fairness that could impact the verdict on appeal.

The judge in the case (Amy Berman Jackson) is a Democrat appointed by Obama. So how is it that another Democrat — from West Tennessee, of all places — is chosen as forewoman of a federal jury in the District of Columbia? This is important, because Democrats also acted as investigators and prosecutors in the Stone case and, after Attorney General William Barr called for a reduction in the recommended sentence, Democrats then demanded that Barr resign or be impeached. It is as if Democrats are seeking to criminalize opposition; merely by being associated with the Republican Party, you are deemed guilty.
