Liberal Feminism, Radical Feminism and the Ultimate Failure of All Feminism

“We want to end gender inequality — and to do that we need everyone to be involved. This is the first campaign of its kind at the UN: we want to try and galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for gender equality. . . . I was appointed six months ago and the more I have spoken about feminism the more I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.”
— Emma Watson, Sept. 20, 2014

In the fall of 2014, actress Emma Watson went to the United Nations to announce the “He for She” campaign, aimed at encouraging men to support feminism. The timing of this event was not coincidental, nor was it a coincidence that Ms. Watson was chosen to lead this initiative.

From age 10 to 21, Ms. Watson portrayed the heroic Hermione Granger in the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter children’s fantasy novels. Tens of millions of young people grew up cheering for Ms. Watson in movie theaters, and if anyone could mobilize youth in favor of feminism, she was the one who could do it. However, almost no one at the time asked the obvious question: Why? Or rather, why now?

Why had the United Nations decided to launch this project? Why was it considered necessary, in 2014, to “rebrand” feminism as a movement that men should support, with Ms. Watson as the spokeswoman? Why was the U.N. leadership concerned that feminism was considered “man-hating”? Why did six months elapse between Ms. Watson’s appointment as “ambassador” for this U.N. project and her September 2014 speech? Ms. Watson asserted that this was her own idea, because “my recent research has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word,” because feminists “are seen as too strong, too aggressive, isolating, anti-men and, unattractive,” leading her to ask, “Why is the word such an uncomfortable one?” Had anyone ever said any such thing about Ms. Watson? Or did she have in mind someone else who might be affected by this negative perception of feminism? And if so, who? Lena Dunham Declares White Women Need ‘Enlightening’ by Feminists

Pudgy tattoo-covered multimillionaire liar Lena Dunham did an interview on ABC’s The View, explaining what’s wrong with women:

“I think it’s really important to remember that it is an incredible problem that . . . 53% of white women in this country voted for Donald Trump which means that they’re not only voting against the interests of their sisters, of women who may not look like them, who they may not understand but whose rights are just as important, but also remember that they are in that case voting against their own best interest. To me a part of feminism — it’s almost like being a parent to a teenager where they’re so mad at you, they think you’re such a piece of crap and you’re like, I know you hate me right now but the reason I’m doing this is because I love you and I want us all to be safe. . . .
I think what’s really hard, obviously it pains me as a Caucasian women to think about how many women didn’t think about women who looked different or had different life experiences than them. They didn’t look outside their own back yard when they made the choice to vote for Donald Trump. . . .
I also think it’s really important to understand so many women aren’t raised with the rhetoric of self-empowerment. The messages they’re hearing from Donald Trump may be very similar to the messages they’ve always heard from their fathers, from their brothers, from their husbands. They haven’t been given the message that they do matter. And so, while I think we have an incredible amount of work to do with enlightening those women, I also have sympathy for the societal structures that keep them from understanding what they need to keep themselves safe.

(Via Breitbart; hat-tip @Charmander on Gab.ai.)

Other than the fact that Lena Dunham is the daughter of rich parents who leveraged her connections to land a contract for a low-rated feminist “comedy” on HBO, why would anyone care about her opinions? What has Lena Dunham ever done that would make anyone think that American women are in need of her “enlightening” through feminism? Does her “rhetoric of self-empowerment” include fingering her baby sister and lying about being raped by a Republican?

If you are a Christian, Lena Dunham hates you. If you are a Republican voter, Lena Dunham hates you. Lena Dunham hates babies. Lena Dunham wants the government to use your tax money to kill babies. Lena Dunham says she is “interested in engaging in a conversation,” but what she really wants is to silence anyone who tells the truth in America.

Notorious Liar @LenaDunham Claims She Can’t Eat Since Trump Got Elected

The most important thing to understand about Lena Dunham is her dishonesty. She wrote a book in which she falsely claimed to have been sexually assaulted by a Republican when she was in college. She refused for months to admit her fabrication, nor did she apologize to the innocent person harmed by her deliberate (and politically motivated) defamation.

Lena Dunham lies routinely and habitually. Slander is her raison d’etre and deceit is her modus operandi. No honest person would willingly associate with Lena Dunham, and only bad people admire Lena Dunham. Therefore, we are not surprised by her latest lie:

Dunham stopped by Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show Monday morning and revealed that she has none other than Donald Trump to thank for her slim figure.
“Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food,” she told Stern after he complimented her look. “Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight.’”

(Hat-tip: Hogewash.) “Her slim figure”? Compared to what? Vogue magazine recently posted a 9-minute video interview with Lena Dunham at her Hollywood home (introducing us to her gay personal assistant who takes care of her poodle). Anyone can watch that video and conclude that Lena Dunham hasn’t been doing much time on the treadmill. Or to put it another way, Lena Dunham probably won’t be competing in triathlons anytime soon. She is still pudgy and pear-shaped. Her arms are still flabby and her butt is still wide. If she has lost weight since November, she must have been grossly overweight last year. However, it is not her Pillsbury Doughboy physique that makes Lena Dunham so odious and disreputable. Rather, it is her selfishness and the sadistic cruelty of her deliberate dishonesty. What she did to an innocent man in her 2014 book Not That Kind of Girl was unconscionable, as Michelle Malkin (like Dunham, an Oberlin alumna) explained at length in a 2015 column:

When John Nolte of the conservative website Breitbart investigated, he discovered that Dunham’s description didn’t match up with the real Barry. “In the end, Breitbart News could not find a Republican named Barry who attended Oberlin during Dunham’s time there who came anywhere close to matching her description of him,” Nolte reported. “In fact, we could not find anyone who remembered any Oberlin Republican who matched Dunham’s colorful description.” Wham: “Under scrutiny, Dunham’s rape story didn’t just fall apart; it evaporated into pixie dust and blew away.” Humiliated and facing a litigation nightmare, Random House paid the falsely accused College Republican’s legal fees after his lawyer complained. Stung and exposed, Dunham carped about conservative journalists who refused to cover up the real truth. She nursed her self-inflicted wounds by publishing a self-pitying diatribe on the liberal website Buzzfeed . . .

You can read the whole thing, if you’ve forgotten the sordid details. Someone who did what Lena Dunham did — cruelly defaming an innocent man, then falsely claiming to be the victim of honest journalists who helped clear this man’s name — is not merely untrustworthy, but evil.

What explains the wicked dishonesty of Lena Dunham? Here it is helpful to quote what Camille Paglia wrote about Andrea Dworkin:

Dworkin, like Kate Millet, has turned a garish history of mental instability into feminist grand opera. Dworkin publicly boasts of her bizarre multiple rapes, assaults, beatings, breakdowns and tacky traumas, as if her inability to cope with life were the patriarchy’s fault rather than her own. She pretends to be a daring truth-teller but never mentions her most obvious problem: food. Hence she is a hypocrite. Dworkin’s shrill, kvetching, solipsistic prose has a sloppy, squalling infantilism.
Dworkin, wallowing in misery, is a “type” that I recognize after twenty-two years of teaching. I call her The Girl with the Eternal Cold. This was the pudgy, clumsy, whiny child at summer camp who was always spilling her milk, dropping her lollipop in the dirt, getting a cramp on the hike, a stone in her shoe, a bee in her hair. In college, this type — pasty, bilious, and frumpy — is constantly sick from fall to spring. She coughs and sneezes on everyone, is never prepared with tissue and sits sniffling in class with a roll of toilet paper on her lap. She is the ultimate teacher’s pest, the morose, unlovable child who never got her mama’s approval and therefore demands attention at any price. Dworkin seized on feminism as a mask to conceal her bitterness at this tedious, banal family drama.

This familiar type — “the pudgy, clumsy, whiny child” who carries into adulthood a permanent grudge and seeks to make others suffer for her own self-inflicted misery — uses feminism as a rationale for her own vindictive cruelty, justifying her slander of the innocent. What part of “Thou shalt not bear false witness” does she not understand?

Despite her cruel slander of “Barry” the College Republican, however, Lena Dunham continues to be celebrated by liberals, who are so invested in the Feminist™ brand that they will embrace a purveyor of falsehood who deserves to be condemned and ostracized. Of course, Lena Dunham climbed onto the Women’s March bandwagon, employing first-person plural possessive pronouns in a profoundly dishonest Twitter message.

Lena Dunham is a childless 30-year-old woman who advocates abortion, so that her use of the phrases “our daughters” and “our sons” is a lie.

This phony first-person “our children” is a pet peeve of mine. Feminists who advocate baby-killing claim to care about “our children,” and yet none of them will lift a finger or spend a cent of her own money to help any actual children. Feminists not only hate babies, but they hate families — they hate mothers and fathers — and never miss a chance to condemn marriage as an institution of oppressive heteropatriarchy.

Well, “patriarchy” is just another word for paying the bills, and HBO hasn’t offered me a multimillion-dollar deal to create a series called Lying Feminist Trolls, so paying the bills for “our children” requires me to invoke the Five Most Important Words in the English Language:

HIT THE FREAKING TIP JAR!

Thanks in advance for your support.

Notice how (a) the anti-Trump protests are endorsed by the rich and famous, and (b) the violence of the anti-Trump mob attacking people in D.C. is depicted as a “clash” for which the victims of mob attack are made to seem equally responsible. Also (c) the violent mob getting pepper-sprayed by police is the headline, rather than the criminal activity of the mob which provoked this police crowd-control response.

The news media and the entertainment celebrities have chosen sides, and if any Trump supporters are injured as a result of the anti-Trump mob violence, the liberal elite will say, “They deserved it.”

Who is to blame for this unhinged left-wing madness?

The message drummed into the minds of students at America’s institutions of higher education is that all good people vote Democrat, and that anyone who votes Republican is a racist, sexist, homophobic ignoramus. This partisan prejudice accounts for the rage and despair reaction on campus to the election results.
You do not have to be a fan of Donald Trump to realize how absurdly unrealistic the academic reaction to the election has been. Some students actually seem to believe the partisan hype that depicts Trump’s election as a harbinger of incipient neo-fascism. There is no one on the faculty, apparently, who can explain to them that the Democrat propaganda churned out during the past presidential campaign was full of exaggeration and hyperbole. Aware that their candidate Hillary Clinton was widely unpopular among swing-state voters, Democrats resorted to fear-mongering rhetoric that depicted Hillary as The Last Hope to Save America From Republican/Nazi Trump/Hitler. . . .

Why Lindsay Lohan Is a Muslim Now: Understanding 21st-Century ‘Oikophobia’

Lindsay Lohan in 2010 DUI mugshot (left) and in Turkey, October 2016 (right).

Lindsay Lohan has made many bad decisions in her life, but her apparent conversion to Islam may be her worst ever, Robert Spencer explains:

Lindsay Lohan has sparked widespread speculation that she has converted to Islam by deleting everything on her Instagram account except for the Arabic greeting “Alaikum salam” . . . .
Lohan has fueled this kind of speculation in the past, saying in 2015: “My very close friends, who have been there for me a lot, in London are Saudi and they gave me the Qur’an and I brought it to New York because I was learning. It opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am.”
She didn’t say what “true meaning” she found in Qur’anic injunctions sanctioning wife-beating (Qur’an 4:34), devaluing of women’s testimony (Qur’an 2:282) and inheritance rights (Qur’an 4:11), allowance for polygamy (Qur’an 4:3), or mandate of warfare against and subjugation of unbelievers (Qur’an 9:29), but that’s just the beginning of the absurdity.
Is Lindsay Lohan prepared to venture out in public with everything covered except her face and hands, as per Muhammad’s injunction (Abu Dawud 4092)? Is she willing not to go out at all unless accompanied by a male guardian, as per Islamic law? Is she happy with being judged deficient in intelligence and religious commitment, as Muhammad said of women (Bukhari 304)?
Lindsay Lohan likely doesn’t know that any of this is in Islamic teaching. She probably knows about Islam only the things she has been told by her friends in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, who are no doubt anxious to add her to the list of celebrity converts to Islam.

Lindsay Lohan is a drug-addled celebrity dimwit from a broken home who was pushed into show business as a child. Like so many other former child stars produced by the Disney movie/cable-TV fame factory — including Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus — Lohan’s young adulthood seemed to be a constant trainwreck of public shame, played out in tabloid headlines.

Lots of teenagers who aren’t rich, famous and beautiful struggle with similar problems — drugs, alcohol, sexual promiscuity, mental illness — but we never read headlines about those troubled youth unless and until they commit some horrible crime. Ordinary adolescent trauma cases don’t fascinate us the way the Troubled Starlet does, because the celebrity trainwreck is so ostentatiously blessed with everything our popular culture values — youth, wealth, beauty and fame.

Here was Lindsay Lohan, who had captured America’s hearts as a wholesome freckle-faced girl in Disney’s 1998 remake of The Parent Trap and who, at age 18, became one of the most promising young actresses in Hollywood when she starred in the hit comedy Mean Girls. She had everything in the world going for her, it seemed, but by the time she was 21, her career and personal life were in disarray. She broke up with her boyfriend, That ’70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama, her movies flopped, and her substance-abuse problems escalated to the point that directors were no longer willing to work with her. Eventually, as it became obvious that she would probably never work again as an actress, the tabloids lost interest in Lindsay Lohan, and her brief stint in a “reality TV” show on Oprah’s network fizzled out in 2014, inspiring me to comment:

It’s wrong to say that Lindsay Lohan ever had a drug and alcohol problem. No, Lindsay Lohan had a Lindsay Lohan problem.

And so, in 2015, somebody gave her a Koran and she moved to Dubai and now, evidently, Lindsay Lohan is an adherent of Islam. Why? That is to say, why Islam, and not some other belief system? Why didn’t Lindsay Lohan move to Lynchburg, Va., and become a Southern Baptist? Or why didn’t she move to Dublin and return to her Irish-Catholic roots?

Oikophobia — a term that Roger Scruton has popularized to describe “the repudiation of inheritance and home”:

He argued that it is “a stage through which the adolescent mind normally passes,” but that it is a feature of some, typically leftist, political impulses and ideologies which espouse xenophilia, i.e. preference for alien cultures.
Scruton uses the term as the antithesis of xenophobia. . . . Mark Dooley describes oikophobia as centered within the Western academic establishment on “both the common culture of the West, and the old educational curriculum that sought to transmit its humane values.” This disposition has grown out of, for example, the writings of Jacques Derrida and of Michel Foucault’s “assault on ‘bourgeois’ society result[ing] in an ‘anti-culture’ that took direct aim at holy and sacred things, condemning and repudiating them as oppressive and power-ridden.”

This rejection of our own cultural inheritance has become widespread among the decadent elite in Western societies, where affluence fosters an alienation from the simple values of ordinary people. Oikophobia expresses itself in an attitude which, for example, considers the vile traitor Bradley “Chelsea” Manning deserving of presidential favor, but which disparages the loyal soldier who courageously does his duty.

The same liberal media that celebrates the cowardly traitor Manning, despises the genuine war hero Chris Kyle. Liberals hate real heroes because liberals hate America — this is oikophobia.

Likewise, after Lindsay Lohan destroyed her own show-business career, we could not expect that she would seek recovery by returning to any form of Christianity, especially not the traditional Catholicism of her Irish-American ancestors. Why not? Because to do so would be for Lindsay to admit that she was the source of her own problems.

Oikophobia is highly correlated to what Christopher Lasch called The Culture of Narcissism, a phenomenon I discussed in 2014:

What the narcissistic personality lacks more than anything else is an objectivity about the relationship between the Self and others. The narcissist is unrealistic about himself because he cannot step outside himself and view his own flaws and failures as they actually are. The gap between who he thinks he is and who he really is, and perhaps more importantly, the gap between how others see him and how he sees himself, creates an existential crisis which he attempts to evade through various rationalizations and psychological defense mechanisms. . . .
The narcissist’s devotion to self-image — what he thinks of himself, and what he wishes others to think of him — blinds him to his own faults and errors, so that he must always find scapegoats to blame for his failures. . . .
Feelings of entitlement and unrealistic expectations based on an inflated sense of superiority — this is classic narcissism. And when narcissists fail, their reaction is always predictably to engage in evasive blame-shifting and scapegoating.

The celebrity like Lindsay Lohan who wrecks her career through substance abuse has failed not only by the standards of show business, but she has also failed in terms of basic moral values. To return to Catholicism would require Lindsay Lohan to admit that she is the problem — “Mea culpa” — and because the narcissist is psychologically incapable of such an admission, instead she must turn to another belief system. Under the influence of oikophobia, the belief system she chooses must be exotic and foreign. Madonna turned to the Kabbalah, and some people turn to Buddhism, but Lindsay Lohan (who never seems to do anything in a moderate way) turns to Islam. If she continues down this path according to her usual immoderate habits, we may expect Lindsay Lohan to become a Islamic extremist. Comparing her to Bradley “Chelsea” Manning may be apt in another sense, i.e., the destruction of one’s own identity.

Because they are obsessed with their own self-image, narcissists tend to react badly when their self-image — their sense of identity — becomes associated in their own minds with failure. The narcissist’s typical grandiosity, a belief that he is an extraordinary personality, leads to cognitive dissonance when the negative feedback from reality does not match the narcissist’s overblown self-image of superiority. Transgenderism can be seen as the ultimate attempt to resolve this cognitive dissonance by destroying one’s own original identity. For example, after a rich white boy named John Walker Flynt drops out of college and squanders a small fortune in a failed business venture, he decides to destroy his identity and become “Brianna Wu.” (With typical narcissistic hubris, John/“Brianna” is now running for Congress.)

John Walker Flynt as a failed male (left) and after becoming ‘Brianna Wu’ (right).

One reason people like John Flynt/“Brianna Wu” become so enraged when their original identity is referenced is because they do not want anyone to discover any of the wrongdoing or failures of their past. By declaring themselves to be a new person of the opposite sex, transgender people claim that the person they once were never really existed. “Brianna Wu” claims to be an entirely different person, who cannot be held responsible for anything done by John Walker Flynt.

Not coincidentally, Westerners who convert to Islam also usually change their names: “Esteban Santiago, who opened fire in the baggage claim area of the Fort Lauderdale Airport on January 6, murdering five people, was a convert to Islam who took the name Aashiq Hammad.”

Narcissism, oikophobia, self-destruction, transgenderism — all of these are symptomatic of pervasive decadence in 21st-century America.

Bitches and Hoes and Feminism

Mac Miller performs in a 2011 hiphop video.

What’s the worst thing about feminism? The hypocrisy, perhaps. Let’s remember what Vox Day says about social justice warriors (SJWs):

  1. SJWs always lie.
  2. SJWs always double down.
  3. SJWs always project.

It’s the lying and psychological projection that produces feminism’s trademark hypocrisy. When morally corrupt people are engaged in crusades to prove how morally superior they are — for such is the point of “social justice” politics — it is predictable that they will accuse others of sins that they themselves flagrantly engage in. Consider the case of anti-GamerGate activist Brianna Wu (neé John Walker Flynt) who considers himself/herself a qualified candidate for Congress, despite his/her long record of shabby ethics. Wu/Flynt is forever projecting his/her faults onto scapegoated enemies, in order to maintain the fiction of his/her own victimhood. The pretense of victimhood is necessary to the SJW’s sense of being a heroic figure battling against forces of evil. Because they are often highly privileged people, feminists cannot honestly claim to be suffering from oppression and therefore, well, SJWs Always Lie.

Mac Miller sings a duet with his girlfriend Ariana Grande.

Ariana Grande is a multimillionaire 23-year-old pop singer who got her start in show business doing musical theater as a child and, as a teenager, starred in the Nickelodeon series Victorious. She made headlines this week by claiming to be a victim of sexist “objectification”:

In a message posted to Twitter Tuesday night, Grande shared that she and her beau, The Way collaborator Mac Miller, were picking up food when they had a run-in with one of Miller’s fans. “He was loud and excited and by the time M was seated in the driver’s seat, he was literally almost in the car with us,” Grande explained. “I thought all of this was cute and exciting until he said, ‘Ariana is sexy as hell, man. I see you. I see you hitting that!”
For Grande, being discussed as if she were not present — and being reduced to a “piece of meat” in the process — left her feeling “sick and objectified.” . . .
“Things like (this) happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy,” she wrote.

A chorus of guffaws greeted Ms. Grande’s complaint, but what caught my eye was her use of Gender Studies jargon — what does it mean to be “objectified”? — and the fact that her boyfriend is a hiphop performer:

Far be it from me to say that Mac Miller (neé Malcolm James McCormick) doesn’t have talent, because obviously he does, but what’s up with white boys doing this tattoo-covered ghetto thug style? Like, this upper-middle-class kid from Pittsburgh — his daddy’s an architect — is supposed to be gangsta? ’Cause he’s been rollin’ with his homies in the ’hood since his bar-mitzvah?
Look, I don’t want to accuse Mac Miller of “cultural appropriation,” I’m just saying he’s inauthentic. And also scruffy. He needs to shave that beard, do something with his hair and buy himself a decent suit of clothes instead of dressing like every other dude-bro loser hanging out in the college dorm.
You can do better, Ariana, but let’s talk about Mac’s punk-ass fans, OK?
Why do you think your boyfriend’s fan felt he could disrespect you? Isn’t it because Mac’s style — his tattooed hiphop motif — expresses an affinity for underclass culture, where disrespectful attitudes toward women are part of the whole swaggering urban Bad Boy image? If your boyfriend is representing himself as a player, doesn’t that imply that you’re the game? . . .

You can read the whole thing at The Patriarch Tree, because when I go to preaching, I want the whole congregation to shout, “Amen!”

CARRIE FISHER DIES AT AGE 60

The actress who became famous as Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies has died at age 60, after suffering a heart attack. Her death came while the latest film in the Star Wars saga, Rogue One, was No. 1 at the box office. She won critical praise for her performance in the original Star Wars film (“Episode IV: A New Hope”), which I first saw in 1977 at Atlanta’s Phipps Plaza theater immediately after its original release. Many of her best scenes were Princess Leia’s exchanges of sarcastic lines with the outlaw pilot Han Solo, memorably played by Harrison Ford, which recalled the classic romantic pairings of Hollywood’s Golden Age — Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, etc.

Of course, it has been noted that Carrie Fisher was a partisan Democrat, who denounced Tea Party activists as “teabaggers,” but this is true of practically everyone in Hollywood, and ought not detract from our pleasant memories of the joy she brought to so many millions.

Good-bye, Princess Leia — and may the Force be with you!

Boomerang: NBC Suspends ‘Today’ Host Billy Bush Because …

. . . uh, why? Honestly, I’m mystified by this unexpected and, to me, inexplicable reaction to the Trump 2005 “hot mic” video leak:

Billy Bush has been suspended from the “Today” show “pending further review of the matter.”
It is unclear if he will ever return to the broadcast.
“He will never be on the show again,” an on-air source said Sunday night, reflecting what staffers are saying behind the scenes.
A second source at the network confirmed Monday that his return is unlikely.
“Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie briefly told viewers about Bush’s suspension on Monday morning.
The sudden change came amid a chorus of calls for disciplinary action against Bush over his vulgar 2005 conversation with Donald Trump that was caught on tape and revealed on Friday. . . .
[T]he executive in charge of “Today,” Noah Oppenheim, said in an internal memo that the executives had decided to go even further and suspend Bush.
“I know we’ve all been deeply troubled by the revelations of the past 48 hours,” Oppenheim wrote.
“Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape,” he wrote. “NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter.”

OK, do me a favor and go read the full transcript of that 2005 video and tell me what “language and behavior” Bush is being disciplined for. Frankly, I don’t see it. Bush is there with Trump, and Trump’s saying what he’s saying, and Bush says . . . what? Please, explain to me how he said something so reprehensible that there’s “no excuse” for it.

What is the cause of this “chorus of calls for disciplinary action”? What Trump said was without doubt offensive — as I said, it effectively guarantees his defeat in the election — but I’m not seeing what Billy Bush said that was so bad. In context, you’ve got the celebrity Alpha billionaire (Trump’s Apprentice at the time was anchoring NBC’s 9 p.m. Thursday slot, with about 14 million viewers) and it’s Trump being Trump. He’s talking about women, and Billy Bush, an ex-radio talk-show host, in 2005 was 33 and had recently promoted to co-host of Access Hollywood.

What exactly was this young B-list TV personality supposed to say in response to Trump’s comments? What he did say was, “Sheesh, your girl’s hot as sh–” and “Yes! The Donald has scored. Whoa, my man!” and “Uh, yeah, those legs, all I can see is the legs. . . . Oh, that’s good legs.”

OK, maybe you wouldn’t want to be caught on tape saying those things, but is what Billy Bush said a “no excuse” situation? And again, who is it that’s making this “chorus of calls for disciplinary action”?

Guys can’t even say “good legs” anymore, not even just guys talking to each other? Is this the new 21st-century standard? Are we now e a nation of third-grade tattletales? “Teacher! Teacher! Billy said a naughty word!” We need a “chorus of calls” for some people to get a life.
