There is a certain “Reichstag fire” element in the reaction by Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) to the Orlando massacre. If you were a paranoid conspiracy theorist, you might be suspicious about how rapidly this crime — committed by a registered Democrat named Omar Mateen — was exploited to promote the Democrat Party’s agenda. However, as I often remind readers, liberalism is not a conspiracy, it’s a consensus: Everyone employed as a producer at CNN is a Democrat who therefore shares a a common set of core beliefs with all the Democrats employed at Harvard University, at the New York Times and in Hollywood. Republicans are deliberately excluded from working in higher education, the entertainment industry and the news media, and so this Democrat consensus produces a lockstep conformity so automatic that we may suspect that it is centrally planned by a secret cabal.

Yet the George Soros/David Brock/Sidney Blumenthal Axis of Progressive Evil doesn’t have that kind of power. They don’t need that kind of power, primarily because of how the Left has captured control of university campuses. Roger Kimball’s 1990 book Tenured Radicals and Dinesh D’Souza’s 1991 book Illiberal Education were prophetic warnings about how political correctness was being imposed in academia. Many conservatives reacted with mocking humor — “Hahahaha! Look at what these crazy kooks are doing!” — and failed to understand the significance of the Left’s academic hegemony, in terms of its long-term cultural influence. If socialism and atheism and other left-wing beliefs were being promoted by university faculty, and if students who opposed these beliefs were subject to punishment for speaking out against the Left, how long would it be before these intolerant “progressive” attitudes were diffused throughout the culture? College students were being quite literally indoctrinated by Marxist professors and taught to view opponents of socialism as evil.

Cultural Marxism produces an attitude of left-wing intolerance that routinely expresses itself through accusations of ThoughtCrime — “racist! sexist! homophobe!” — which are often simply slogans. In many cases, these smears have no relation to the actual beliefs of the person targeted by such attacks. The Left uses “racist” as a synonym for Republican, and this attitude was already apparent in academia 25 years ago. We now find such reflexive partisanship everywhere in the news media and the entertainment industry, which are controlled by people who would never knowingly employ a Republican. To watch CNN now is like watching a 24/7 campaign commercial for Hillary Clinton, and none of the people who produce this Democrat propaganda — Chris Cuomo, Carol Costello, Brooke Baldwin, et al. — seem the least bit embarrassed by their work as dishonest partisan hacks. CNN’s deliberately misleading coverage of the Orlando massacre, which they refuse to treat as a terrorist act of Islamic jihad, is reflected in every other liberal media venue.

Notice how journalists rush to provide free publicity for an interview on a Netflix show between a not-very-popular host (Chelsea Handler) and a not-very-popular actress (Ellen Page), promoting a not-very-relevant argument. The murders committed by Omar Mateen were not a result of generic “anti-LGBT rhetoric,” but were a result of Islamic jihad.

It is not rhetoric that kills people, otherwise I would already be dead. As a heterosexual white male Christian, I am more or less constantly assaulted by hate rhetoric from Democrats, who are determined to rid the world of Christians, white people, heterosexuality and the Republican Party (not necessarily in that order). Feminist baby-killers denouncing “toxic masculinity” and ranting about “rape culture,” mobs of angry black protesters seething with anti-white rage, atheists trying to eradicate Judeo-Christian morality — this is the Democrat Party in 2016.

Democrats hate Jesus. Democrats hate America and the Constitution. Democrats hate motherhood. Democrats hate babies and the Bible and, if you are a Republican, Democrats hate you — personally.

Ellen Page is Canadian. Why are Americans expected to listen to a Canadian lecture us about “creating a poisonous environment”? Also, Ellen Page is extremely short — barely five feet tall. If liberals think Americans need to be lectured about what violent anti-gay bullies we are, why can’t they find a full-grown American lesbian for this job? Why are we being lectured by midget homosexual foreigners?

There are lots of reasons to ignore Ellen Page, but if she’s so concerned about “violence towards LGBT people” shouldn’t she be worried about the bloodthirsty Muslim fanatics who throw “LGBT people” off roofs? Why can’t Ellen Page be bothered to notice that the Orlando killer was a bloodthirsty Muslim fanatic who pledged his loyalty to ISIS?

No, Ellen Page’s hatred of American and Christians blinds her to the danger posed by bloodthirsty Muslim fanatics.

Who hates America more, Ellen Page or ISIS? It’s hard to say.

What we notice, in these situations, is how the liberal media narrative is always determined by the political interests of the Democrat Party. Do you think liberals actually care about anti-gay violence?

A chef at an uptown Charlotte restaurant told police she was attacked Saturday by a woman who hurled anti-gay slurs then body-slammed her to the ground.
“Never have I ever felt so alone,” she said. “I had seven girls staring at me, looking at me, with hate in their eyes.”
Charlotte police charged two 17-year-olds with misdemeanor assault and have asked the FBI whether the girls could be charged under the federal hate crime law. . . .
She said the assault occurred as she and a co-worker were walking home after work early Saturday evening. She said they passed a group of six or seven females and one male on Trade Street between Tryon and Church. Without any provocation, she said, one of the women yelled out:
“Hey, are you a stud?”
A stud is a euphemism for a masculine-looking lesbian. . . .
She said the woman then screamed a string of derogatory statements, including: “You’re a faggot. … You’re a queer….” . . .
Police arrested two teenagers about an hour later. Capt. Mike Campagna said that earlier in the day police had received reports about the group harassing other people.
Thomasena Michelle Chisolm and Kiara Marie Johnson were charged with misdemeanor assault. . . .
Both girls have been arrested multiple times before, but most charges were dismissed. Johnson was found guilty of breaking and entering earlier this year, and is awaiting trial on a larceny charge. Chisolm faces a trial on possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Do you think CNN or the New York Times will notice a crime like this? No, of course not, because the perpetrators are black and the lesbian who got assaulted is white, and therefore it’s strictly local news.

The same principle explains why, when a bloodthirsty Muslim fanatic kills 49 people in Orlando, it’s not a story about the danger posed by bloodthirsty Muslim fanatic. Instead it’s an excuse to lecture Americans about how much we hate gay people. The principle that determines how the media covers such stories is always the same: “How can we report this in a way that helps the Democrat Party?” And this is why the media decides a Chelsea Handler interview with a not-very-popular actress is a Major News Story. The only people who hate America as much as liberals hate America are Canadians and ISIS, not necessarily in that order.

The name Mara Wilson probably means nothing to you, and I’d never heard of her until today when I saw this headline:

Considering that this headline is from the lesbian feminist site Autostraddle, you might think “one of us” is a synonym for lesbian, except no, she’s “queer,” which is more like a synonym for bisexual maybe.

Actually, the word “queer” has become an elastic umbrella term that can mean anything or nothing except that Feminism Is Queer, as Professor Mimi Marinucci has explained. There may actually be heterosexual feminists out there in 2016, but if so, they seem to be extremely embarrassed about it. Heterosexuality is now practically a hate crime, according to Third Wave social justice feminism. While homosexuality is not yet mandatory for young feminists, none of them would dare say they’re against it, whereas every feminist now constantly spews venomous hatred toward heterosexual men. Merely being male makes you complicit in rape and patriarchal oppression, and no feminist ever wants to hear anything a heterosexual male has to say, so shut up.

OK, so who the heck is Mara Wilson, and why would anyone care that she is bisexual maybe? She was a child actress who appeared in five movies, including Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) when she was 6 and Matilda (1996) when she was 9. Now she writes books and posts pictures of her cat on Twitter, where she has 276,000 followers. So, after the Orlando shooting she Tweeted that “the LGBTQ community has always felt like home” and subsequently clarified by describing herself as a “2” (on the Kinsey Scale) and saying she has “embraced the Bi/Queer label lately.” Also, she made the point that she is “a left-leaning Jewish atheist.”

So to summarize, Mara Wilson is a typical 20-something feminist who hates Jesus and Republicans (not necessarily in that order) and whose hobbies are Communism, cunnilingus, and collecting cats.

Is Amber Heard ‘Duplicitous, Untrustworthy, and Indecisive’?

Last week, we reported on the acrimonious split between Johnny Depp and his wife, Amber Heard. “Johnny Depp got used, manipulated, set up and made to look like an a–hole,” Depp’s friend Doug Stanhope said. Without regard for whether Heard’s abuse claims are true, it’s obvious that Depp was a fool to marry a bisexual woman half his age who had previously spent four years in a lesbian relationship. When she demanded Depp pay her $50,000 a month in spousal support? Yeah, she’s all about the Benjamins, baby, and she saw Johnny as her personal ATM.

Johnny Depp’s assistant says Heard fabricated text messages that appeared to support her abuse claims, and frankly I don’t believe a word she says, because’s she’s bisexual. “Never trust a bisexual” is probably a good rule because, really, how could you trust someone who lacks the strength of character to decide if they’re straight or gay? It’s like college football, and you can’t decide whether you’re an Alabama fan or an Auburn fan, Michigan or Ohio State, USC or UCLA. Pick a team, OK?

Someone can’t even limit their sexual attraction to 50% of the human race? C’mon, that’s 3.5 billion potential partners to choose from, but no, they’re bisexual, and have to keep the full 7 billion within reach.

Of course, bisexual feminist Carolyn Cox is offended by such criticism:

What’s been surprising to me is the incredible amount of biphobia demonstrated by the media’s coverage of this case. Given that it’s 2016, I hoped we wouldn’t see outlets framing Heard as inherently duplicitous simply because she’s bisexual, but I guess that was way optimistic of me. . . .
The biphobia demonstrated in multiple publications over the past few days is inexcusable, regardless of what transpired in this specific marriage. . . . That, for me, cuts to one of the most frustrating aspects of bisexuality: as a bi woman, I feel I’m always seen as actually gay, or a liar, or both. When I’m with a man, I’m perceived as having chosen men, and when I’m with a woman, I’ve switched teams. I wish more publications, in discussing Heard, would remember that bisexuality doesn’t inherently connote promiscuity, and that it’s possible to be bisexual and be in a happily monogamous relationship. . . .
Bisexuals are often perceived as duplicitous, untrustworthy, and indecisive . . .

Everybody knows bisexual women are opportunistic, selfish and emotionally unstable, which is why lesbians don’t trust them. What Amber Heard did to Johnny Depp shows why guys shouldn’t trust them, either, and if it’s “biphobia” to tell the truth, so be it. Somebody’s got to warn guys against getting mixed up with dishonest promiscuous bisexuals, or else they’ll all end up paying $50,000 a month to Amber Heard.

 


The Progressive Myth of ‘Diversity’

In his 2012 book The Tyranny of Clichés, Jonah Goldberg recounts the pinnacle of his career, when the inclusion of his column (and the discontinuation of left-wing columnist Robert Scheer) caused Barbra Streisand to cancel her subscription to the Los Angeles Times in a 2005 letter that is a memorable example of bad writing and wrong ideas:

The greater Southern California community is one that not only proudly embraces its diversity but demands it. Your publisher’s decision to fire Robert Scheer is a great disservice to the spirit of our community. . . .
[Y]our new leadership, especially that of [publisher] Jeff Johnson, is entirely out of touch with [readers] and their desire to be exposed to views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms. So although the number of contributors to your op-ed pages may have increased, in firing Robert Sheer and putting Jonah Goldberg in his place, the gamut of voices has undeniably been diluted, and I suspect this may ultimately decrease the number of readers of those same pages.

Of course, Robert Scheer is a tediously predictable writer, a sort of fossil remnant of an earlier era when enthusiastic support of the Sandinistas and demands for a “nuclear freeze” were major issues for the anti-American Left. Despite the fact that the Los Angeles Times had many left-wing columnists — and that Jonah Goldberg was among the few conservative columnists for the paper — Ms. Streisand insisted, without the paradigm-stretching views of Robert Scheer, “the gamut of voices” (???) was undeniably diluted. From her multimillion-dollar beachfront mansion in Malibu, Ms. Streisand proclaimed that the newspaper’s publisher was “entirely out of touch” with readers who were demanding the kind of “diversity” that only Robert Scheer (a geriatric radical born in 1936) could provide them. Accusing a Democrat of committing “the most atrocious act of terrorism in world history” — which is how Robert Scheer described Harry Truman’s decision to use the atomic bomb in 1945 — certainly stretches the paradigm, eh?

This kind of knee-jerk anti-Americanism arises from the elitist attitude that defines the Left. Believing themselves endowed with moral and intellectual superiority, progressives harbor a limitless contempt for the Ordinary American. If the typical resident of Normalville, U.S.A., is a patriotic flag-waver, the progressive believes, any flag-waving patriot is an ignorant fool. By the same token, when contrasted with Robert Scheer’s comrades in Berkeley and Ms. Streisand’s wealthy friends in Malibu, the folks in Normalville, U.S.A., are more likely to be heterosexual Christians who enjoy hunting and fishing and football and NASCAR. Because small-town people are also more likely to vote Republican — which is the worst thing anyone could ever do, from the Scheer/Streisand Berkeley/Malibu perspective — then everything about their lives must be subjected to mocking ridicule. “Redneck dimwits! So ignorant they probably believe it was a good thing we nuked Hiroshima! Let’s insult them by calling Harry Truman a terrorist!”

Progressives do not believe in a “diversity” that would permit the residents of Normalville, U.S.A., to think of themselves as deserving a respect equal to the respect demanded by residents of Berkeley and Malibu. Those of us out here in the small towns of America, folks who believe in God, who love our families and feel a sense of patriotic loyalty to our nation’s traditions — well, we are so inferior to the likes of Barbra Streisand that she cannot even be said to hate us, because we are simply too insignificant to notice. The elite support progressive policies because these policies function to deprive the Ordinary American of political representation. The beliefs and attitudes of patriotic Americans are condemned as racist, sexist and homophobic, so that anyone who speaks for the values of Normalville, U.S.A., can be excluded from the institutions (academia, journalism, entertainment) that influence the political process. There are no Republicans in the sociology department for the same reason the New York Times will never hire a Christian editor, nor would Hollywood ever make a movie that implied a negative judgment of the Charlie Sheen Lifestyle:

Do you believe sodomy is a bad thing? Well, you can’t be permitted to say that in Malibu or Berkeley — nor on any university campus — where progressive “diversity” means your opinion is excluded from consideration, and no one who agrees with you would dare to say so.

Democrats believe in “diversity” in much the same way as Hitler believed in Aryan superiority, and for the same reason, because such fanatical beliefs justify the annihilation of a hated Enemy.





 

Stand By For A Trump Mulligan

The “deal” Trump is likely referring to is his agreement in September to sign a pledge not to run as an independent. He said at the time he was given the “assurance that I would be treated fairly” by RNC chairman Reince Priebus in return for signing the pledge.
The Wall Street Journal article referenced by Trump is titled “GOP Operative Plans ‘Guerrilla Campaign’ Against Donald Trump.”

  1. It’s blatantly obvious to even the most casual observer that Her Majesty’s best shot is a 1992 reprise.
    I’ve long suspected that DJT is just an incendiary mercenary. I also suspect that Her Majesty has sufficient dirt (irrespective of what she gave away via Chappaquaiddick) to bend pretty much anyone among the elite to Her Royal Will.
  2. The September détente between DJT and the GOP always looked like a convenience; DJT gets his ratings, and the GOP liquidates some smaller players.
  3. The question moves to when DJT has his Ross Perot ephiphany. The reason will be some sort of kerfuffle with the GOP.  Given that, how many of his anti-elite supporters are willing to play the Perot game again? I’ve said that I’ll vote Trump as a heckler veto of Jeb, because #NoMasBush. Short of that, though, He Of The Ridiculous Hairstyle can pound sand.

‘The Stars Aligned’

Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” is one of those songs I never get tired of hearing. I seldom listen to contemporary pop music, preferring old rock and soul classics of the 1960s and ’70s, but “Rolling in the Deep” is an exception. In a BBC interview, the British singer explained how she suddenly gained worldwide fame in 2008:

“The week I was doing Saturday Night Live, it was meant to be a normal week but the week after, Sarah Palin was supposed to do it, . . . Because something came up in the campaign, she came and did the week I was doing it with Josh Brolin. So it was one of the most watched SNLs ever, and then it was two weeks before the Grammy ballot, which is when people decide what songs they want to maybe nominate, so, like, literally the stars aligned for me. . . . All thanks to Sarah Palin.”

After Adele performed for that huge audience, her album hit number one and she was nominated for four Grammys. Sarah Palin recently sent Adele a copy of her new book, Sweet Freedom: A Devotional, penning this autographed inscription:

“Adele, You look so great! So beautiful! So . . . Rumor Has It you recently threw me some credit for your amazing success — very kind coming from Someone Like You! Congrats on motherhood. Keep Setting Fire to the Rain.

Confirmed: Charlie Sheen Has HIV

It was Regular Right Guy who tipped me to the rumor two weeks ago that Charlie Sheen has the AIDS virus, and I wrote:

The recklessness of Sheen’s life — cocaine and whores — was bound to catch up with him sooner or later, and if he is indeed infected with HIV, this would not be particularly surprising.

Tragic, but not surprising. The news this week:

Charlie Sheen is expected to disclose that he is HIV positive in an exclusive “Today” Show interview on Tuesday, a source with direct knowledge of the interview told CNNMoney.
On Monday, NBC announced that the actor would be making a “revealing personal announcement” on the “Today” show Tuesday morning.
The source told CNNMoney that Sheen is expected to discuss his HIV condition when he sits down with Matt Lauer live from the “Today” show studio in New York City.
In addition, Hollywood public relations specialist Howard Bragman was quoted in People Magazine saying that Sheen “is getting treatment, and a lot of people in his life know about it.”

So, Regular Right Guy is right again. Always trust your blog buddies. Sources say Sheen’s ex-wife had known he was infected:

As Charlie Sheen gets ready to announce to the world that he is HIV positive, a source tells Access Hollywood that Sheen’s ex-wife, Denise Richards, has known Sheen had the disease for a “number of years.”
A source close to Richards told Access Hollywood that the actor contracted the disease in the years after he and Richards divorced in 2006.
Sheen and Richards have “not been intimate” since the divorce, the source added.
Sheen and Richards first met in 2000, but didn’t begin dating until October 2001, when Richards appeared on Sheen’s sitcom “Spin City.” The couple got engaged on December 26, 2001 and tied the knot on June 15, 2002.
In March 2005, Richards filed for divorce. The divorce was finalized in November 2006.

To me, that’s the real kick in the head of this story. By the time he met Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen had spent enough years as Hollywood’s roguish bad boy that you might have thought he would be more than happy to hang up his spurs and retire from the rodeo.

 

And what a fairly tale ending that would have been, eh? The notorious womanizer finally settling down to family life, married to one of the most beautiful young actresses on the planet. But it wasn’t enough for Charlie. His oversized ego, and the bad habits he acquired as a young prince of Hollywood, could not adapt to the constraints of domestic tranquility. He wrecked his marriage and ruined his career and, somewhere in this celebrity tragedy, there may be a lesson worth studying.

Money won’t buy happiness, and it won’t buy silence, either:

Charlie Sheen kept his HIV status under wraps, but everything unraveled when some former partners threatened him with lawsuits . . .
Charlie confided in several friends he thought were confidants … it turned out they weren’t, and spread the word he was HIV positive.
That led to several of Charlie’s former partners contacting him and threatening a lawsuit because they were unaware of his status when they had interaction with him. Our sources say Charlie settled several of the cases and, in return for money, got confidentiality agreements.
We’re told one of the settlements occurred late last month.

Allegedly, I hasten to add. Regular Right Guy runs down the tabloid gossip that has been going around Hollywood the past year, most recently in a report at Radar Online. The recklessness of Sheen’s life — cocaine and whores — was bound to catch up with him sooner or later, and if he is indeed infected with HIV, this would not be particularly surprising. But these are mere allegations, I hasten to add, so if any coke-addled whores want to have sex with Charlie Sheen, don’t worry about it. Roll the dice. It’s probably just a rumor, right?
