It’s rough, being a blogger, forced to hang out in classic establishments like Pat Troy’s. I want you to know, readers, that it’s all for America, for you, and the candidate; any incidental pleasures enjoyed in this establishment are taken strictly ‘for the cause’.

Alexandria City Councilman Frank Fannon introduces Patrick:

Murray contrasts the excellence of the rest of Virginia’s political leadership, in particular, financial management, with the incumbent. No telling who walks through at the end, but, welcome to internet immortality, sir.

Now he decries the national debt as the chief national security threat, as noted by JCS Chair and SECSTATE. An allusion to Moran’s anti-military remarks.

Some personal motivation for running, and a distant explosion lightens the moment. Campaign credits. A highly motivated, fine group of folks, in my estimation.

Patrick Murray concludes, points out Moran’s tactical vulnerabilities, and encourages the troops for the next 60 hours.

So, where are we? Two days from the most consequential mid-term election in American history, we’ve got a superior candidate in a tough district in a race against a career politician like Moran.

Not too swift at, you know, *fiscal responsibility*, but the minions had proven reliable.

When one encounters such a contrast between a patriot like Murray and an apparatchik of the Moran variety, the choice becomes obvious:

Prof. Reynold’s observation, grounded in American anti-bureaucratic sentiment, is echoed throughout Murray’s positions on issues.

It is excellent to see Murray both on Fox and Friends. . .:

and also Fox Business. If you have time, go for this second clip, where the discussion moves past Moran’s condescending dismissal of military service members to discussion of needed policy reforms, for example, term limits. How refreshing it would be to have a representative not committed to Murtha-ism:

What would really be nice to see is Murray on Hardball with Matthews, trying to make up for the detached-from-reality performance of the incumbent, “Gentleman” Jim Moran. In that case, the thrill up Matthew’s leg would be the vibration of a 120mm main battery.
Moran supporters have responded with an attack ad so brutal and devastating that, should Ladd Ehlinger view it, he’ll no doubt give up directing film entirely:

The clip looks like a school project, and certainly is better than anything I have done, so let’s fall short of hammering kids. A bit more research in the future wouldn’t hurt, however. NCLB was a Bush idea. These youth probably don’t understand that they’re blaspheming Holy Progress by supporting BeelzeBush the Anti-Clinton.

Three more days and a wakeup, Virginia!

As a squid, I think that the government needs unions about like the US Navy. Oh, and collective bargaining in the Navy is referred by the term “mutiny”. Yet, the Navy does just fine with the UCMJ.

NBC4: Subtle Anti-Murray, Pro-Moran Slant

0:08 “…claims Moran said…” No, actually, Moran did say that about military service: “What [Republicans] do is that they find candidates – usually stealth candidates – that haven’t been in office, haven’t served or performed any kind of public service. My opponent is typical.”
0:19 “…comments at a community appearance…” Why the attempt to draw attention away from the audience? Is NBC undaware that the ‘community’ in question was the Arlington County Democratic Committee? This was far more  than random folks down at the Alexandria Farmer’s Market, where I have personally been along with Murray to, you know, meet people. Moran’s audience were all insiders. Moran’s audience knew who they, (Republicans) are, and why Murray’s lack of the secret handshake and decoder ring would be detrimental to ACDC’s interests.
0:27 “…instead, his lack of community involvement…” If Jim Moran would like to issue a fresh statement describing exactly how the dealmaking skills accrued over 20 years in Congress exceed the leadership and managerial skills of a career of public service in the military, such a statement would be both enlightening and nothing whatsoever like what Moran is on record as saying.
If Moran attempts to imply that there are other criteria for serving in Congress to be met, those would also be interesting to know. Is a Boston accent one of them, or is Moran’s accent a mere Kennedy-esque affectation? Oh, wait, Moran grew up in Massachusetts, so maybe Murray’s Oklahoma origins aren’t so strange.
0:40 “…seek the seat of Virginia Congressman Jim Moran…” Speaking of Massachusetts, didn’t we go through this drill in January with “the Kennedy Seat”? VA-8’s seat belongs to all constituents, not merely the occupant, for all that occupant’s body language screams otherwise.
1:20 Watch the whole video. When you recall the Democrat insider audience, the second half is as devastating as the President’s “bitter clingers“, explored in detail here.
1:46 “…his comments have been distorted” Is he referring to his record of public service in general, or this incident in particular? One wonders. He means every odious, condescending word and dismissive gesture in that clip, right at face value, judging by every time I’ve seen him personally or on TV.
2:00 “…decided not to be involved…” Patrick Murray is running for office. Jim Moran is running for office. If running for office is deciding not to be involved, then Moran is confessing extreme detachment on his own part. But will this form of projection find traction with conscious voters?
2:07 “…that’s what I was saying…” Other that the fact that this is not what he said in the clip, one can find no objection with Moran’s explanation. Are we going to believe Moran, or our lying ears?
A fine acting performance, though.  Anyone unaware of Moran’s dented wastebasket personality might be taken in by the show of contrition here.
2:28 “…sticking by his statement that Murray isn’t qualified because he hasn’t been active in community issues.” First, that’s a fresh statement.
Second, unless Operation Community Issues is some hush-hush project known only to carefully briefed Democrat voters in VA-8, the statement is nonsensical. Patrick Murray has all of the necessary chops to function effectively in the next Congress. More importantly, he lacks the taint of the PMA scandal and all of the other murky activities clouding Moran’s record.
2:38 “…voted locally for the first time” The specifics of military residence, I can speak from experience, get into nit-noid detail. Moran’s effort to imply some extra-legal residence requirement is a laughable attempt to distract from the fact that Moran is way past time to retire. And retire Jim Moran we must.

The effort to liberate VA-8 from “Gentleman” Jim Moran’s reign of error continues apace. The candidate is fresh off of a news conference to answer the mail on the 06 October offensive remarks Moran made.

Murray momentum grows. The bus is stocked and fueled. It will be cruising the district, spreading the word that there is a better way than Moran’s approach.

The phones are fully staffed by the most awesome talent available:

Tellingly, it appears that Moran has withdrawn from tomorrow night’s penultimate debate. Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Moran! The Murray campaign is not confident that Moran can muster the fortitude to support the final debate.
This blog empathizes with Moran’s staff and hope the résumé work goes well for them.

Forget Client #9 And Whatshername: Give Me Da Tech Guy And William Jacobson

Somebody whose blog-fu exceeds mine handily is Da Tech Guy. While out galavanting with RSM, he paid a visit to William Jacoboson of Legal Insurrection, another premier blogger.

The big question here is why these two don’t have a talk show. Unlike so much of the swill sloshing about on the cable networks, here are two chaps who would (a) have an audience and (b) dare to edify it.
It’s interesting that the short interview should mention Joe Miller, who, like Patrick Murray, is a professional patriot beset by a Ruling Class tool, and completely deserving of all available support:

RetireJimMoran.com notes the obvious cheap shot at the military in this two-week old clip:

What [Republicans] do is that they find candidates – usually stealth candidates – that haven’t been in office, haven’t served or performed any kind of public service. My opponent is typical.

The obvious slam here is the attack on service to the public in the military as somehow not being public service.
However, consider the audience. This is the Arlington County Democratic Committee. The audience in VA-8 isn’t just your garden variety Democrat. Without going too far on a limb, this ACDC likely has an abnormally high representation of Federal bureaucrats and lobbyists. The faceless, unelected, mostly unaccountable twerps who, termite-like, gnaw at the foundations of our liberty.
After denigrating 24 years of honorable military service in the first half, the second half of the clip is more interesting:

And of course, for 24 years, he’s taken a government check because, frankly, the military still is part of the Federal government, uh, and, yet, his principle platform is to cut government spending.

What is the implication here, Moran? That an Army Colonel was on the dole for two and a half decades, and is somehow biting the hand that feeds? Showing ingratitude toward his Ruling Class elite betters, i.e. you? Should Patrick Murray have simply taken a job with one of PMA’s clients, and got on the ‘beltway bandit’ gravy train? Would that have made his interest in supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States less odious to you, assuming proper campaign contributions?
Jim Moran acts like a status quo fat cat. The sort of elite, aristocratic snob who, 235 years ago, would like have supported King George III against the American Revolution. The kind of dead wood Democrat who needs to go on 02 November. The kind of patronage-loving upper class boob who supports every atrocious, economy-wrecking policy that the Gnomes of Capitol Hill crank out by the ream.
Tying Moran’s broad way to destruction with his audience, ACDC, we’ll end this rant with a video about where the ideas of Moran, Nancy Pelosi, and this Administration will lead this country, if we don’t elect leaders like Patrick Murray and retire Jim Moran:
