A Typical ObamaCare Nightmare
Posted on | April 29, 2014 | 47 Comments
The damage caused by the ObamaCare catastrophe — arguably the worst federal public policy initiative of the past 40 years — are usually discussed in terms of politics and macroeconomic statistics: X-number of jobs lost, an X-percent decline in President Obama’s poll numbers. True enough, the harms of the paradoxically named “Affordable Care Act” have impacted our entire society, hindering economic growth, incentivizing job losses, and resulting in policy cancellations and higher premiums for millions of Americans.
The very worst has been suffered by small businesses (both owners and employees) and by self-employed independent contractors. Statistics cannot adequately express what at an unprecedented nightmare many people have gone through. One of these ObamaCare victms, blogger Rich Vail, describes his frightening ordeal:
Last fall we received a letter saying that because of the myriad of changes that HHS had ordered health insurance companies to make to individual policies that were purchased on the open insurance market, that our health insurance would be cancelled…and it was despite they lies presented by President Obama and Sen’s Ben Cardin and Barbara Mikulski. “If you like your insurance, you can keep it, period.”
Because last year was a pretty good year for me, we don’t qualify for subsidies…so my insurance which had costs us $132 per month rose to $137 per week. We had the choice of paying that or the rent…
The problem now is that I have four fractured ribs…

#RapeCulture? FBI: Illinois Democrat Bragged About Molesting 6-Year-Old Girl
Posted on | April 29, 2014 | 12 Comments
When he resigned last month, many people were shocked to learn that an Illinois Democrat was under investigation for federal child pornography charges. Now court documents provide a lurid glimpse of The Pervert Party in action:
Former Illinois State Rep. Keith Farnham was charged Monday with using both personal and state-owned computers to trade hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography and engage in graphic online chats in which he allegedly bragged about sexually molesting a 6-year-old girl.
The federal criminal complaint alleged that Farnham, 66, a Democrat from Elgin, possessed two videos depicting child pornography on a computer that was seized from his state office in Elgin a week before his abrupt resignation in March. Authorities also linked a Yahoo! email account used by Farnham to a online trading forum in which he chatted with other users about his sexual preferences, according to the charges.
“12 is about as old as i can handle,” Farnham allegedly said in one online chat in November, according to the charges. “i love them at 6 7 8” . . .
According to the charges, the investigation began when homeland security agents received a tip from its Cyber Crimes Center that email address [email protected] was being used to trade child pornography on the Internet.
A search of Yahoo! logs showed a series of graphic instant messenger conversations between last June and January in which kimdavid5582 allegedly chatted with three other users about sexual preferences and exploits, according to the charges. Authorities later traced the Internet usage to the Comcast account at Farnham’s home, according to the charges.
In one online conversation in November with a person identified only as “User A,” Farnham allegedly described in detail a sexual encounter with a 6-year-old girl.
In another chat a few weeks later, Farnham allegedly told User A, “i wish i had access to all the vids and pics ever made.”

Washington Post Shocked — Shocked! — to Learn Failed President Is Unpopular
Posted on | April 29, 2014 | 18 Comments
Gloom, despair and agony for Democrats:
Democrats face serious obstacles as they look to the November elections, with President Obama’s approval rating at a new low and a majority of voters saying they prefer a Congress in Republican hands to check the president’s agenda, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Obama’s approval rating fell to 41 percent, down from 46 percent through the first three months of the year and the lowest of his presidency in Post-ABC News polls. Just 42 percent approve of his handling of the economy, 37 percent approve of how he is handling the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and 34 percent approve of his handling of the situation involving Ukraine and Russia.
Obama’s low rating could be a significant drag on Democratic candidates this fall — past elections suggest that when approval ratings are as low as Obama’s, the president’s party is almost certain to suffer at the ballot box in November.
Republicans are favored to maintain control of the House, with the focus now on whether they can take control of the Senate. One key question about November is who will vote. Turnout in midterm elections is always lower than in presidential elections, and at this point, key elements of the Republican coalition — namely white voters and older voters — say they are more certain to cast ballots this fall than are younger voters and minorities, two groups that Democrats and Obama relied on in 2008 and 2012.
The Republican National Committee sent out an e-mail release:
MSNBC is calling Obama “politically toxic” while CNN notes this is a low for Obama’s entire presidency. In other news, Democrats are scrambling: Alison Lundergan Grimes, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other Democrats are really busy kissing Tom Steyer’s ring in Chicago this week while Elizabeth Warren will headline Netroots Nation.
“This poll shows people want Republicans to fight back against the Obama agenda– from foreign policy to ObamaCare and the economy. Those 2014 Democrats who have overwhelmingly supported the extreme Obama agenda are going to suffer at the election booths for putting donors interests above that of their constituents.” — Raffi Williams, RNC Spokesman
Of course, with John Boehner and Mitch McConnell running the show for Republicans in Washington, we cannot underestimate the potential for them to fuck up everything between now and November. The question is, can the GOP Establishment fuck up bad enough to overcome the Obama-induced unpopularity of Democrats?
Report: ‘No Regrets’ Sex Teacher Said She Had Sex Dreams About Teen Boy in 2008
Posted on | April 29, 2014 | 25 Comments
Readers may remember Jennifer Fichter, the 29-year-old Florida teacher who allegedly told the mother of a 17-year-old student that she had “no regrets” about having sex with the boy. Evidence now emerges that Fichter’s sexual interest in young boys was a problem when she was a middle school teacher six years ago:
LAKELAND, Fla. — The Polk County teacher arrested . . . for having sex with her student left her old job in Orange County six years ago after being investigated for another inappropriate relationship with a student.
The student in that case was in the eighth grade.
Friday afternoon, the Orange County School District released their employee file on Jennifer Fichter.
Fichter resigned from Robinswood Middle School in the fall of 2008 after administrators suspended her and launched an investigation.
The more than 40-page internal affairs report details the trouble she found herself in.
According to the report, Fichter revealed to another teacher that she had feelings for the boy, and implied to another student that she wanted to have sex with him.
She reportedly said “he makes me melt into a puddle with those eyes.”
Her co-worker told investigators that she told her she even dreamed about the boy one night. When asked what it was about, she said, “Oh my goodness, it was a goooood dream!”
The two then joked about Fichter going to jail for the comment.
Fichter is now suspected of sexual relationships with three different teenage boys, Tampa’s WFTS-TV reports:
BARTOW, Fla. — Jennifer Fichter, a Polk County teacher charged with having sex with students, now faces accusations that she had a sexual relationship with a third teenager. . . .
Lakeland Police confirmed they have identified a third student who alleges he had a sexual relationship with Fichter. . . .
Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office announced 20 additional charges after finding a second teenager who told investigators he and Fichter went from spending time together after class, to text messaging, to secret meet-ups. . . .
Probably the most disturbing revelation in this latest arrest report are allegations that the pair not only met up at Fichter’s apartment, but, according to the teen, she also sneaked over to his home to have sex about 20 times.
“This is a teacher who is a classic predator who decided to let these students call her by her first name. She wanted to get on their level, she wanted to be one of them,” said Sgt. Gary Gross, Lakeland Police Department spokesman.
Abby Roche said Fichter tried to bait her 17-year-old son two years ago, but she intervened and even filed a complaint with the Sheriff’s Office.
“Why didn’t somebody do something about this two years ago when I did bring it to their attention? It’s almost like it’s a little too late,” she said.
Roche found texts between Fichter and her son filled with innuendo. The teacher even met up with her son and his friends.
“The police had that information. If they were good investigators, I would have thought they would find that out,” she said.
Question: How many teachers like Jennifer Fichter are out there, even now, drooling over teenage boys? What’s wrong with these women who “melt into a puddle” looking at an eighth-grader?
Excuse me for suspecting that cases like this reflect (a) perversely misdirected maternal instinct, (b) the impact of a hyper-sexualized culture, and/or (c) the egalitarian influence of feminism.
We are seeing way so many of these stories now there is cause to believe that this phenomenon — female predators who crave sex with teen boys — is increasingly prevalent. This raises the question of why more and more women are becoming perverts, and maybe the feminists screaming about “rape culture” at university campuses should devote more attention to this growing problem instead.
25 Years, Sexy Lady!
Posted on | April 28, 2014 | 66 Comments
My beautiful wife and I got married 25 years ago today. Our wedding was at the Gordon County Courthouse in Calhoun, Georgia, with Probate Judge Johnny Parker presiding. I was making $275 a week as sports editor at the Calhoun Times and Lou Ann was working at Hardee’s.
Two of my colleagues at the newspaper, Jim and Dawn McFadden, were witnesses at the ceremony. Afterwards, Dawn was kind enough to provide a wedding cake for a very small reception at our tiny rental A-frame house out off Dews Pond Road.
When I first met Lou Ann, I was living in a one-bedroom apartment south of town on U.S. 41, and the living room walls were decorated with posters for James Bond movies. The first time I had her over for dinner — I cooked hamburger steak, pinto beans and turnip greens with biscuits — we got into a conversation (which is to say, I was lecturing) about how soap operas and romance novels mislead women with totally unrealistic expectations of what love is like. Lou Ann responded by referring to the James Bond posters: “So, that’s realistic?” And I was like, “Hey, you don’t understand. That stuff totally happens. James Bond is a super spy!”
So that’s how I became “Super Spy,” while an old Isley Brothers tune inspired me to nickname Lou Ann “Sexy Lady”:
Who’s that lady? (Who’s that lady?)
Sexy lady! (Who’s that lady?)
Beautiful lady! (Who’s that lady?)
Real fine lady! (Who’s that lady?)
I would dance upon a string,
Any gift she’d want, I’d bring.
I would give her anything,
If she would just do what I say.
That song is about the pursuit of an elusive object of desire and, while the specific circumstances of our romance might not have been in every way ideal, there was a direct relationship between the elusiveness of the object and the romance of the pursuit.
Suffice it to say that, in the 10 years before I met my wife in the fall of 1987, any shortages of female companionship I’d experienced were temporary and of brief duration. It wasn’t like I was desperate or lonely, but the very first time I met Lou Ann, sparks flew and it was just a matter of whether I could get her. The getting was not easy.
She wasn’t “playing hard to get.” She was hard to get.
“Always negotiate from a position of strength” is excellent advice for young ladies. Men respond to challenges, and if you want to be loved insanely, you’ve got to drive him crazy. You want a man who’s willing to crawl through broken glass and climb over a 10-foot fence topped with razor wire to be with you? Keep the gate locked.
On Feb. 14, 1989, I placed an ad in the special Valentine’s Day section of the Calhoun Times. Addressed to “Sexy Lady,” the ad asked her to marry me and was signed, “Super Spy.”
That was a Tuesday, and I covering a basketball game at Calhoun High School that night. By the time the game was over, with deadline looming, that Valentine’s Day ad had slipped my mind, but when I got to my car, I found that the windshield was covered with a message in red lipstick: “Yes! I love you, Super Spy! — Sexy Lady.”
We got married on a Friday six weeks later.
My wife is quite literally an answer to prayer. When God gives you a good wife, you have an obligation to deserve her love, and I am embarrassed when this obligation occasionally slips my mind. Have I been a good husband? Not always, but I’ve never forgotten the moment when, at the Gordon County courthouse that day 25 years ago, Judge Parker asked me to pledge that part of the wedding vow about “forsaking all others . . . till death do you part.”
Wow. That’s some serious stuff, if you think about it.
Charles Murray recently wrote in favor of “start-up marriages.” Rather than waiting until you have established your financial independence to the point where a marriage becomes a “merger,” Murray argues, there is something to be said for marrying and starting a family while you’re still young and struggling to get ahead. Being young and poor together is a shared experience — certainly not always a pleasant experience — which, if you can make it through, becomes a special bond between a couple.
It’s weird to hear young people say they “can’t afford to get married yet.” Nonsense. No law which requires an expensive wedding — all that catering and stuff — and two can live as cheaply as one.
Call me sentimental, but I think there’s something romantic about starting off as cheaply as possible. Furthermore, as my father once told me, “If you wait to have children until you can afford to have children, you’ll never have children.” Making babies is kind of fun, you know, and figuring out how to pay the bills? Hey, that’s just part of the crawl-through-broken-glass challenge.
Left to right: Emerson, 13; me; Lou Ann; Reagan, 11 (plaid skirt); daughter-in-law Danielle; grandson James Jr. held by his father James, 21; Kennedy, 24; Bob, 21; son-in-law Martin; Jefferson, 15.
We have been blessed, and whatever hardships we endured together have only made me love her more. Love you, Sexy Lady!

Brandeis Brownshirt Talia Lepson Hurls Crude Insults at Pro-Israel Student
Posted on | April 28, 2014 | 77 Comments
Talia Lepson (@tlepthechamp on Twitter) is a Brandeis University sophomore “majoring in Politics and minoring in Peace, Conflict, and Coexistence Studies” who describes herself as an “avid MSNBC viewer.” In case you forgot the recent campus controversy:
- April 9: Brandeis and Suicidal Liberalism
- April 17: Shocking: Brandeis Feminist Faculty Led Petition Against Aayan Hirsi Ali
Understanding the radical climate at Brandeis — where a freedom fighter like Aayan Hirsi Ali is unwelcome — what sort of attitude would you expect a left-wing sophomore at this campus to exhibit?
A top J Street leader at Brandeis University harassed a pro-Israel student activist early Saturday morning, calling the student a “shit bag” and telling him that “Jews hate you,” according to those who witnessed the incident.
Daniel Mael was walking to his dorm room on the university’s campus late Friday night when he encountered Talia Lepson, a J Street U Brandeis board member, who purportedly referred to Mael as a “shit bag” and angrily told him “Jews hate you.”
“I don’t feel comfortable on campus knowing people will lob verbal insults at me simply because we disagree,” said Mael, who has filed an incident report with the Brandeis police over what he described at the “uncivil environment that is developing on campus and the attempts to isolate students with differing opinions.”
The incident is just one of several at Brandeis lately in which pro-Israel students have come under fire for their attempts to defend the Jewish state on campus from groups such as J Street.
Mael said that he and a friend were returning to their dorm rooms at around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday when he came across Lepson — who says she currently works as a political intern at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) — and a group of her friends.
“As they approached, Talia Lepson give me a really, really intense stare and then I turned to the students and said, ‘Shabbat shalom,’” said Mael, who is an observant Jew. “I was being serious. I thought that religion and politics are not necessarily intertwined. I thought you could still be nice.”
Lepson “responded by saying, ‘Jews hate you’,” Mael said. “As she continued to walk, she screamed, ‘You are a shit bag.’”
Daniel Mael (@DanielMael on Twitter) writes for Ben Shapiro’s Truth Revolt site, which reports how Talia Lepson boasted about her radical activism with the far-left group J Street:
Throughout this past academic year, I have served as Political Director of J Street U Brandeis. While serving as Political Director, I have led a delegation of Brandeis students to lobby Senators Warren and Markey against the Kirk-Menendez bill; have co-moderated a panel discussion with Lara Friedman, Director of Policy and Governmental Relations for Americans for Peace Now; and assisted in creating and leading a weekly meeting on AIPAC’s withdrawal of support for the Kirk-Menendez bill. In my spare time, I enjoy discussing politics and going on rants against the patriarchy.
Cultivating a climate of totalitarian terror on campus is the mission of the academic Left, and the shrieking hatefulness of Talia Lepson is evidence of how well they have succeeded in that mission.

Teen Killer ‘Just Wasn’t Right’
Posted on | April 27, 2014 | 38 Comments
Could this tragedy have been avoided?
The 16-year-old who allegedly hacked a fellow student to death at a suburban Connecticut high school after she refused to be his prom date is a ‘cutter’ who had previously attempted suicide and has a history of depression, his classmates have told MailOnline.
Chris Plaskon has been identified by parents and students as the teen arrested after Friday’s brutal attack on Maren Sanchez, the beloved junior prom queen. Friends say he battled ADHD and other mental issues that led to sometimes bizarre behavior in the classroom.
‘He just wasn’t right. I know his cousin. He didn’t act right,’ 16-year-old Seamus O’Reilly said Friday.
‘He had depression.’
Plaskon allegedly attacked Sanchez, whom he dated a few years earlier in middle school, in the stairwell at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Connecticut, Friday morning — stabbing her in the throat and hacking her to death with a kitchen knife as she fought for her life.
He is currently being held in a mental health ward, charged with murder as a juvenile but prosecutors have said they are considering filing adult charges against him.
Tyler Curtin, 16 . . . said he believed Plaskon struggled with mental illness — including cutting himself. . . .
‘He had ADHD and took strong medicine for it and had other things, too,’ Curtin said. . . .
Classmates, even the ones who said they once knew Plaskon well, said nothing in his behavior had ever indicated he was capable of violence.
‘He was such a nice, sweet kid,’ Curtin said.
Yes, “such a nice, sweet kid” — until he stabbed a girl in the neck.
As Chris Rock famously asked, “Whatever happened to crazy?”
“What, you can’t be crazy no more? Did we eliminate ‘crazy’ from the dictionary? . . . When l was a kid, they used to separate the crazy kids from everybody. When l was a kid, the crazy kids went to school in a little-a** bus. They had a class at the end of the school . . . Just in case they went crazy, they would only hurt other crazy kids. And we was all safe.”
Donald Waelde Wants to Be a Woman — and Also, Perform Oral Sex on a Horse

The Craigslist ad (left) led to arrest of Donald Waelde (right).
Far be it from me to say that Donald Waelde’s alleged interest in horse sex is typical of Arizona’s LGBT community:
Once again, deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office have busted someone who went to Craigslist looking for sex with an animal.
This time, a 22-year-old Phoenix man went to the “Missed Connections” section of Craigslist seeking a male horse “on which to commit the act of fellatio,” according to the MCSO.
The ad on Craigslist . . . was listed on April 8, and states:
I am 22 years old and I want to play with a male Horse. simple as that. If you have access to a Male horse, and can allow me access to a male horse, then contact me please 😉 I will do something in return.
Detectives were able to identify the poster as 22-year-old Donald Waelde, according to MCSO. . . .
According to an MCSO spokesman, “In the undercover investigation, Sheriff’s deputies contacted the suspect and engaged Waelde in conversation where the suspect stated the sex act he wished to perform on the horse and agreed to meet the undercover detective on Tuesday.”
The detective actually went to the meeting place in Anthem with a horse, borrowing one from the MCSO’s Mounted Posse.
Waelde was immediately arrested after showing up to the meeting place, and the Sheriff’s Office says he admitted to placing the ad and “stated his intentions to consummate the act.”
Phoenix New Times made no mention of Waelde’s transgender interest, but WKAZ-TV did, and apparently this was sufficient cause for Huffington Post to declare Donald Waelde a woman:
An Arizona woman has been arrested on bestiality charges after allegedly trying to arrange sex with a horse via Craigslist.
The woman, who’s described as transgender and who the police report is legally known as Donald Waelde, 22, posted this ad on the Missed Connections section of Phoenix Craigslist on April 8 . . .
During the meeting, Waelde allegedly admitted to placing the ad and her sexual intentions with the animal.
She was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit bestiality.
The radical feminist blog Gender Trender called attention to this linguistic transformation, noting how often crimes committed by transgenders are attributed to “women.” And there is certainly an element of deception involved in the appropriation of female pronouns — “she” and “her” — to describe a man with a penis named Donald.
Might as well call him a “filly,” I suppose.
