Elbonese Lesbian Vegan Atheist Open Borders/Global Warming/Abortion Activist Wonders If She’s Too Moderate

Leaning on her plug-in hybrid car of indeterminate make, under the tsunami of bumper stickers and hand painted flowers, Doremifasolatido If sipped her venti, triple-shot non-fat, sugar-free, cinnamon dolche latte with whip, and heaved a sigh. “I’ve got to keep finding new things to protest, or risk sliding into complacency. Moderation is for conservative losers.”
She tapped her iPod to life, screen light reflecting off of a face with more metal in it than shrapnel in that of a soldier in close proximity to an IUD burst. “Here’s this rumor that Mitt Romney was actually fathered by a Vulcan. Can we protest that, or would xenophobia contradict the call for open borders? It’s easy to be against everything when you’re small, but when you’re a big-time activist, you can find you’re protesting yourself.”
Things had been hard for If since splitting with Edina “Butch” MacTungsten. “We got in a tremendous fight over Rachel Maddow, and whether characterizing an obvious joke as a gaffe was a new form of stupid”, she said, running a tattooed hand across her shaved scalp, straightening her mohawk. “Oh, well. I’ve got to get on the road to my next paid protest. I’ll be glad for this election to get over, so that I can get back to serious work, like protesting Dick Cheney’s Pacific Ocean Trash Vortex.”

First Task Of A Romney Administration Is Going To Be Restoring Integrity To Gov

Nothing else the government tries to do really matters if no one believes a godforsaken thing escaping the Beltway orifice. The Lonely Conservative points to Hugh Hewitt pointing to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (which acronym seems more straightforward without the ‘L’) magically locating 386,000 jobs since March. Over six months, the number had slipped by a third of a million, in a way that unexpectedly, helps #OccupyResoluteDesk look better. How could anyone doubt this?
Then there is the official deflation of the inflation statistics. The following chart shows today’s inflation calculated with tree different methodologies. ShadowStats.com holds inflation at 9% via the 1980 methodology, 5% using that of 1990, vs. the 2% leg pull now offered. For a quick bit of spreadsheetery, the good news is that BLS might hit 0 sometime in a second Obama administration:
Add to the unemployment and inflation debacles the over three years now since there was a budget, and “Zimbabwe” Ben Bernanke’s QEternity demolition of the currency, and the message is clear: Romney needs to articulate to the American people just how thoroughly jacked up our entire government stands.
It’s a time for candor, not deceit. Resolve, not platitudes. During the debates, Romney should appeal to the intellect. When BHO tries to paint Romney as alarmist, Mitt should straight up play the “Bless your heart” card, and point out that the country cannot continue on this course. No need for rancor, reprisal, or recriminations: just a sane approach.
There is an amazing tendency for people to grow up and behave rationally when treated like adults and presented with facts. In contrast, our government increasingly has treated the people as children, and isn’t honest about the disastrous results.
Update: the economic downgrade is a case in point.

The tagline works for both West’s race and the presidential one:
The entire Democrat party cold be seen as drunk and disorderly, after a fashion.

‘No True Principles or Loyalty’

An article in Politico inspired this reaction from National Review‘s Jim Geraghty:
This is why the grassroots loathe most veteran GOP political consultants. Republican campaign staffers get a lot of undeserved grief as a bunch of grifters, charlatans, snake-oil salesmen, hired guns with no true principles or loyalty, and so on. But when you see (allegedly) high-level folks trashing their own candidate, six weeks before the election, to a publication like Politico… and doing so while hiding behind anonymity… well, every nasty stereotype is confirmed.
Jonathan Chait is in the Gloat Zone. This is not a good thing.

Via The Blaze, this cold open makes, for SNL, a solid effort to mock BHO:
It isn’t everything a serious conservative hammering of the Worst President Evar could be, but we must give credit where due.
The New O-Phone Is Here!
Posted on | September 28, 2012 | 32 Comments
Many people are excited about Apple’s latest upgrade to the iPhone, but this Obama voter was even more excited about the free phone she got because (she says) of President Obama:
Rush Limbaugh says this is the “new model citizen,” and liberals have predictably rushed to condemn this as RAAAAACIST:
The Obama Phone video belongs to a genre popular on conservative blogs in which poor people, usually black, confirm conservatives’ worst 47-percent fears by saying they can get something for nothing because Obama’s in office. The message is, “Here’s what Obama’s supporters really look like.”
That item, by the way, is by Elspeth Reeve, whose career was launched in disgrace by the Scott Beauchamp scandal, and who has yet managed to fail her way upward to the Atlantic, proving once again that liberalism can excuse any sin committed on behalf of the liberal cause.
Fabricated stories and shabby ethics? No problem!
Exactly how Reeve got this gig as the expert mind-reader of conservative bigotry — The Racism Whisperer — I don’t know, but I agree with Patterico’s defense of the free-phone video:
Conservatives should not have to shy away from such amusing examples of entitlement mentality simply because the particular proponent of that mentality happens to be black.
By the way, I was waaay ahead of the curve on this free cellphone issue, having first reported about it in October 2008. That’s right — the free cellphone program pre-existed Obama’s election.
So the Democrats have their usual defense: Blame Bush!
UPDATE: Charlie Spierling of the Examiner provides background on the free phone program:
The program is called Lifeline, established in 1984, originally created to subsidize landline phone service for low income Americans, funded by government-collected telecommunication fees, paid by consumers.
In 2008, the program was expanded to support cell phones which quickly escalated the cost of the program. In 2008 the program cost $772 million, but by 2011 it cost $1.6 billion.
A 2011 audit found that 269,000 wireless Lifeline subscribers were receiving free phones and monthly service from two or more carriers. Several websites have been created to promote “free” government cell phones, including the”The Obama Cell Phone” website at Obamaphone.net.
Yes: Taxpayers are forced to pay $1.6 billion — billion, with a “B” — to provide free cellphones for Obama voters.
And if you don’t like it, you’re a racist!
