The Lewinsky Scandal and Media Bias

My American Spectator colleague Melissa Mackenzie provides a walk down memory lane exposing the media’s partisan double standard:

For a damaging story about a Democrat to be true, DNA must be found on a blue dress. There must be Blue Dress Proof™. It’s not enough to have a witness and a victim. It’s not enough to have a computer, a cache of validated emails, thousands of affadavits signed under the threat of perjury. There must be actual DNA, videotaped evidence. If the bad guy is a Democrat, there must be Blue Dress Proof.
For a damaging story about a Republican to be true, nothing has to be true at all. Third-hand hearsay about hookers and pee, a smile on a face, or a sarcastic tweet or phrase taken out of context can make even the most absurd conclusion be portrayed as fact and conveyed as truth in perpetuity. If the bad guy is a Republican, no proof is needed. . . .

Read the whole thing. The Lewinsky scandal erupted two months after I arrived in D.C. as an assistant editor at The Washington Times, and I have vivid memories of how that went down. What happened was that Clinton’s first finger-wagging denial — “I did not have sex with that woman” — was a tactic used to buy time while his spin doctors went to work devising a message that could enable him to survive the scandal when, inevitably, it was revealed that Clinton was guilty as hell.

A basic element of the Team Clinton strategy was to confuse the issue, to persuade middle-of-the-road voters that the scandal was “just about sex,” to distract from the obstruction-of-justice claim related to the Paula Jones civil-rights lawsuit. Whatever your opinion about Paula Jones, or the wisdom of the Supreme Court decision allowing her lawsuit against Clinton to go forward, once Clinton decided to litigate the case (rather than to pay Jones a settlement), the plaintiff had a right to truthful testimony in the case. Lawyers for Jones, tipped off by Linda Tripp about Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky, subpoenaed Lewinsky’s testimony. Team Clinton then (a) arranged through one of Clinton’s donors for Lewinsky to get hired at the New York offices of Revlon, and (b) dispatched Clinton’s lawyer Vernon Jordan to have Lewinsky sign a false affidavit, denying any sexual activity with the president and saying she couldn’t attend a deposition because she had moved to New York.

This was straight-up obstruction of justice and suborning perjury and, among other things, Bill Clinton was disbarred as a result. But because of Team Clinton’s media spin — “It’s just about sex! Everybody lies about sex!” — most Americans never understood the real issue.

A series of court decisions had determined that plaintiffs in sexual harassment cases could use evidence that a “hostile work environment” existed because of a pattern of harassing behavior. Paula Jones, as an employee of the state of Arkansas, had been subjected to sexual advances from Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton and suffered retaliation when she refused those advances. The reason Monica Lewinsky mattered was that the Jones lawyers were seeking to demonstrate that Bill Clinton made a routine practice of engaging in sexual affairs with female employees or with women he met as a result of his political position.

Personally, I take a dim view of the whole field of “sexual harassment” law. My essentially libertarian position is that employment is a matter of mutual agreement, and if an employee does not like workplace conditions — for whatever reason — the thing to do is to quit. Tell the boss “take this job and shove it,” and walk out the door. If you are a woman and your boss is a creepy womanizer (like Bill Clinton), there are many ways to deal with that problem without filing a lawsuit. Democrats, however, have embraced a theory of “employment rights” that turns practically every workplace grievance into a potential lawsuit, and “sexual harassment” cases like Jones v. Clinton have proliferated as a result.

Bill Clinton was elected with the avid support of feminists who had weaponized “sexual harassment” accusations in the 1991 Tailhook scandal, which wrecked the careers of several Navy officers, and certainly the Commander-in-Chief could not be exempted from this standard. The reason why Republicans repeatedly invoked “the rule of law” in the Lewinsky scandal was that Clinton was claiming that his obstruction of justice in the Paula Jones case — a crime which would have subjected any other citizen to imprisonment — did not “rise to the level of impeachment,” in the phrase popularized by Clinton’s surrogates.

Many of the same Democrats who supported impeaching President Trump over a phone call to the newly elected president of Ukraine claimed that Clinton was above the law when it came to obstruction of justice in the Paula Jones case. Why? Because “everybody lies about sex.”

Had it not been for the media furiously spinning in Clinton’s defense in 1998, he would have been forced to resign, because responsible journalists would have made clear what was at stake in this case. Professor Glenn Reynolds comments about the Lewinsky scandal:

“I think the Clinton/Lewinsky affair was a real turning point with the press. When it first broke, I remember Sam Donaldson saying that if it was true, obviously Clinton would have to resign. But within a few days the Democrats, very much including the press, had circled the wagons around Clinton and were willing to recycle any pro-Clinton talking point, and scoff at anything that hurt Clinton, in a way that was, at the time, unprecedentedly brazen.”

Indeed. And we are still paying the price.

Hillary, Democrats and the Blame Game

November 8, 2016: The best night in American history.

Haunted by the ghost of her Nixonian paranoia:

[Campaign manager Robbie] Mook eventually delivers the news of impending defeat to Clinton. “I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,” she answers. “They were never going to let me be president.”

Winners win and losers make excuses. Hillary Clinton ran for president twice and lost both times. In 2008, she lost the Democrat nomination to Barack Obama. Eight years later, she won the nomination (because the fix was in at the DNC) but lost the general election to Donald Trump.

Never in my memory have Democrats accepted defeat sensibly. Keep in mind that (a) I’m nearly 60, and (b) I used to be a Democrat myself. After Jimmy Carter was defeated by Ronald Reagan in 1980, Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) created a narrative that Reagan’s success represented the Triumph of Fear, Hate and Corporate Greed. Because they were unwilling to admit the truth — i.e., liberalism doesn’t work — Democrats convinced themselves that all they needed to do was to put the same old crap into a more appealing package. They believed they had a marketing problem, rather than a policy. This misguided belief led Democrats into the wilderness. In 1984, Reagan was re-elected in a landslide over Walter Mondale. In 1988, Democrats nominated Mike Dukakis, who lost in another landslide to George W. Bush. The errors of Bushism (and the third-party populist challenge of Ross Perot) helped Democrat Bill Clinton win in 1992 with 43% of the vote. Imagining that Clinton’s election heralded the arrival of a New Camelot, Democrats then proceeded to enact a bunch of left-wing policies that were hugely unpopular, resulting in the 1994 “Republican Revolution” when the GOP took control of both houses of Congress for the first time in 40 years.

A “temper tantrum” — that’s how ABC News anchor Peter Jennings dismissed the Republican landslide in 1994, comparing the American electorate to an angry 2-year-old. The widespread belief among the media elite that Democrats are morally superior to Republicans, so that it is always wrong when Republicans win elections, has the effect of insulating Democrats from confronting the true causes of their own failures. If you are unable to admit error, to confess that the voters are right and you are wrong — that you have been weighed in the balance and found wanting — you probably need to stay away from politics.

Ed Driscoll called attention Friday to a 2006 Bill Clinton quote:

There is an expectation among Democrats that establishment old media organizations are de facto allies — and will rebut political accusations and serve as referees on new-media excesses.
“We’re all that way, and I think a part of it is we grew up in the ’60s and the press led us against the war and the press led us on civil rights and the press led us on Watergate,” [Bill] Clinton said. “Those of us of a certain age grew up with this almost unrealistic set of expectations.”

“Almost”? Do you even understand what you’re saying? The invincible hubris of liberals — their belief that they are “on the right side of history,” and that opposition to their policy agenda is morally wrong — is sufficient reason for any American to become a diehard Republican, if only for the pleasure of destroying the fond hopes of such fools.

Why did Donald Trump get elected? Democrats are still making excuses, adding “Russian collusion” to the Fear, Hate and Corporate Greed narrative by which they previously explained GOP victories. The “collusion” narrative is imploding (along with the credibility of Comey and Mueller), and the reality of Trump’s success — the booming economy, the defeat of ISIS, etc. — is undermining the confidence of Democrats that they can win a congressional majority in November.

What happened in 2016 was a revolution of sorts. Donald Trump’s candidacy attracted voters to the GOP primary who had previously been ignored or taken for granted by the Republican leadership. Some of them had been Tea Party voters in 2010, some of them had been Ron Paul voters, and others were attracted by what Steve Bannon called Trump’s “economic nationalism.” All of them, however, were sick and tired of the Play Nice and Lose approach to politics embodied by Mitt Romney. To a certain kind of grassroots American voter, the typical attitude of Republican politicians — that they must always be polite and avoid saying mean things about Democrats, so as to maintain a spirit of bipartisan civility — looks a lot like unmanly cowardice. What many grassroots Americans admire most in a leader is toughness, manifested as a willingness to speak blunt words: “Mister Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” It must be recalled that many of Ronald Reagan’s advisers didn’t want him to say those undiplomatic words, and to this day the Republican Party struggles to overcome the influence of those within the party who consider “respectability” to be the correct standard of political discourse. It is better to lose an election in a respectable manner than to win rudely, according to the Play Nice and Lose school of GOP strategy, and Donald Trump’s success is an embarrassment to them.

Despite my own populist impulses, I am still uncomfortable with many of President Trump’s personal tendencies, but this is like me saying as an Alabama fan that I don’t like Nick Saban’s coaching style except for the fact that he keeps winning national championships.

Winners don’t need excuses, and if Republicans can somehow overcome their disadvantages in the November midterms — if the GOP maintains its congressional majority despite all the anti-Trump rage on the Left — the Democrats will be hopelessly shattered by their defeat.

Less than seven months remain until the midterms, and the Democrats, who held a 13-point advantage in the so-called “generic” congressional poll as recently as December, now lead by less than six points.

“Conan, what is best in life?”
“To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!”

Can we make that happen, Mr. President?

Sex, Power, Weakness and Evil

“I would be happy to give [Bill Clinton] a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their Presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.”
— Nina Burleigh, 1998

“Feminists keep trying to explain Weinstein in terms of power — he is the ‘patriarchy’ or whatever — but what this sordid scandal reveals is his weakness.”
— Robert Stacy McCain, Nov. 21, 2017

When did the shift happen? Reading about the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse now destroying so many powerful men — Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) is the latest big name to be exposed — I keep returning to the question: “How did we get here?” The most obvious catalyst for this bonfire of feminist rage is the election of Donald Trump. So many feminists had gone “all-in” for Hillary Clinton last year, and believed that the Access Hollywood tape would prove fatal to Trump’s campaign, that the results of Nov. 8 inflicted an emotional trauma. As they worked through their feelings, they realized that a major cause of their defeat was the compromises they had made for the sake of Democrat Party coalition politics. One obvious reason Hillary lost was that her defense of Bill’s predatory sexual behavior exposed her as an untrustworthy hypocrite.

Yet the roots of this problem go back farther than the Lewinsky scandal. In 1969, Ted Kennedy left a woman to die in the back of a submerged Oldsmobile, but because he was a powerful Democrat, he was able to avoid vehicular manslaughter charges, retain his Senate seat and was even celebrated with a heroic defender of “women’s rights.” Guy Benson pointed out that a video tribute to Kennedy was shown at the 2012 Democratic National Convention and when Katie Pavlich objected to this during a CNN panel discussion, she was scolded for having the bad taste to mention that Ted Kennedy once killed a woman.

Ted Kennedy was a weakling, a specimen of moral cowardice. An alcoholic and a womanizer, Kennedy and his Senate colleague Chris Dodd once infamously made a “waitress sandwich” at a D.C. restaurant.

Likewise, Bill Clinton is an infamous weakling, unable to control his sexual appetites, and too foolish to avoid temptation. When Monica Lewinsky flashed her thong underwear at him, what did Bill do? If you’re the President of the United States, you have the power to enforce decorum in the workplace, to require the White House staff to comport themselves respectfully. Rather than to suppress Lewinsky’s lewd behavior, instead Clinton began pursuing sexual encounters with this emotionally unstable woman less than half his age. His misconduct (and hers) eventually came to light because one of his previous victims, Paula Jones, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Clinton. Jones’s lawyers learned of the Lewinsky affair, questioned Clinton about it during a sworn deposition, and he perjured himself by denying it. Clinton furthermore arguably obstructed justice by arranging to get Lewinsky out of Washington (getting her a job with Revlon, whose CEO was a major Democrat donor) and having his attorney Vernon Jordan get Lewinsky to sign a false affidavit denying her affair with Clinton.

In other words, Clinton used his political power to conceal his personal weakness and, in doing so, committed impeachable offenses.

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Knowing our own weakness — “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” — Christians ought to be humble, and to fear any situation that might tempt us to sin. Are you a stronger or more virtuous man than Bill Clinton? You ought to hesitate before answering “yes,” lest the Devil decide to prove you wrong.

Mike Pence has been derided by liberals for his “open door” rule, refusing ever to meet alone with a woman other than his wife, but the wisdom of his policy is revealed every time we see a new headline about the wicked behavior of men like Harvey Weinstein, Brett Rattner, Al Franken, Glenn Thrush, Louis C.K., James Toback, Kevin Spacey, Charlie Rose, Michael Oreskes, John Lasseter, Mark Halperin, on and on and on.

There is no doubt that the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse will also destroy some Republicans — new allegations against Roy Moore seem to emerge every day — but on balance, these exposures mainly involve liberal men in politics, journalism and Hollywood. This is deeply ironic, of course, because Democrats campaigned in 2012 on the claim that there was a Republican “War on Women,” Hillary Clinton made feminist “empowerment” a major theme of her campaign in 2016, and it was only because Hillary lost that we have now entered this climate where feminists are willing to pour gasoline all over the machinery of male Democrat power, strike a match and burn it to the ground.

You can thank the 63 million Trump voters for this “empowerment.”

Power is beneficial when used to protect the weak and helpless, but wicked people who seek power for selfish reasons will often use dishonest claims of humanitarian intentions to mask their selfishness. Only a fool could be deceived by an argument like “Vote Democrat, Because Social Justice,” yet millions of Americans are such fools. (Hillary could have called her book It Takes a Village of Idiots to Elect a Clinton.) What liberals do, in making these pseudo-humanitarian appeals, is to drape themselves in a costume of secondhand victimhood: “Elect me,” the powerful multimillionaire Hillary Clinton essentially said, “because these other women are raped and discriminated against.”

This identity-politics argument is always false: Did Stalin’s power benefit the peasants of Russia? Did Hitler’s power benefit the average German? Did the typical citizen of Arkansas benefit from Bill Clinton’s presidency? Are black people better off because John Conyers is in Congress?

Identity politics dishonestly tells us that we are “empowered” if the person in the White House is a member of own own particular tribe. There are still millions of Irish Catholics who still vote Democrat because their Irish ancestors were Democrats and John Kennedy was a Catholic. And I was a partisan Democrat, maintaining that allegiance until I was in my mid-30s, for quite similar reasons of ancestral loyalty. There used to be fewer Republicans in the South than there are in Detroit today, and if black people ever figure out that they’re being scammed (the same way white Southerners were scammed by Democrats), this might bring about a cataclysmic political shift in American politics.

What about women? For many decades, Democrats have been the party of abortion, claiming that abortion is a synonym for “women’s rights.” And guess what? Wicked men eagerly agree with that claim.

Never forget: The Clintons and Harvey Weinstein are pro-abortion, and this was all that was necessary to make them acceptable to feminists who support the Democrat Party for that reason, and that reason only. Feminists will tolerate anything, so long as you’re pro-abortion:

Feminism is a movement devoted to destroying the family. Feminist theory condemns marriage and motherhood as institutions of “male domination,” which is why taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood is sacred to feminists: The road to “equality” is paved with dead babies.

Abortion is wrong, and its supporters are evil. Bad people do bad things, and it is not really surprising that Harvey Weinstein is a monster.

Now these monsters are being hunted down by their former feminist “allies,” and all the power and money in the world cannot save them.

Karma is a bitch, they say. And what a deeply ironic bitch she is.

College Girls: Prostitutes and Democrats

Acacia Friedman (left) and Samara Charlotin (right) were busted for prostitution.

Hey, buddy, how’d you like to get it on with a couple of college girls? Well, the going rate is $5,000, according to police in Coral Gables, Florida, where University of Miami student Acacia Friedman, 23, and Florida International University student Samara Charlotin, 19, were arrested Wednesday in a sting operation. The deal with an undercover cop was reportedly negotiated by Friedman’s fellow Miami student Maury Noun, 21. Charlotin was also charged for possession of oxycontin and marijuana. According to Heavy.com, it appears that the enterprising student/pimp Noun is a Trump supporter, while Friedman’s online profile shows she supported Bernie Sanders for president in last year’s Democrat primaries. And then there’s this:

That was Friedman’s Twitter profile picture, showing her posing with former President Bill Clinton at a campaign event last year.

‘No One Left to Lie To’

Memory is a strange thing, and perhaps my memory is particularly strange, due to my adolescent adventures in freelance pharmaceuticals. People sometimes talk about teenagers “experimenting” with drugs. If so, I was the Enrico Fermi of drug experimentation. My college dorm room was to dope what the Manhattan Project was to nuclear physics, and I was Robert Oppenheimer. The findings of my research could be expressed in a simple formula:

Psilocybin + Cocaine = Insanity

Trust me on this one, kids. Anyone foolish enough to attempt to replicate that particular experiment will never completely recover. Once you’ve had the Total Hallucinogenic Freakout, you’re never really the same again, because once you’ve seen The Other Side, you can’t un-see it.

Anyway, the neural pathways of my memory function in an unusual way, so that sometimes I’ll be writing and a phrase or image will pop into my mind and — CAZART! — it’s like I’m re-living a past experience, complete with the exact emotional reaction I felt at that time. Today, while composing a brief response to something somebody wrote on Medium.com, I had a flashback to the title of Christopher Hitchen’s 1999 book No One Left to Lie To. He died a few years ago, but not before I had a chance to hang out with him in D.C., when Marty Beckerman and I spent a good hour (and probably $25) buying Hitch rounds of Johnny Walker Black, just so he would keep telling jokes. God rest his atheist soul, but Hitch could tell a joke better than anyone I ever met. It was not so much the content of his jokes, as it was the form — Hitch had a brilliant delivery and, having heard him do a stand-up performance at the “PlameGate Two” benefit, I insisted that he tell his best jokes for Marty. But I digress . . .

No One Left to Lie To flashed into my mind while I was explaining my own deep resentment of how Bill Clinton screwed me over:

By the way, I used to be a Democrat — a hard-core “yellow dog” who voted for Walter Mondale in 1984, and who proudly put a Clinton-Gore bumper sticker on my car in 1992. What happened? Well, Bill Clinton happened. No sooner had he finished taking the oath of office than he began to enact policies that were anathema to the core values of millions of people who voted for him. Behind his façade of down-home “moderation,” Bill Clinton was a proponent of the 1960s anti-American atheist radicalism of the New Left, and his wife was even more deeply committed to this agenda of the left-wing cultural elite.
Well, I was a Democrat, but I was never a complete fool. Being bamboozled — played for a chump in a political three-card monte hustle — pi–ed me off.
You’re never going to f–k me over twice, and after I take your knife out of my back, I’m gonna remember who put it there. . . .

You can read the whole thing at Medium.com. Oh, how I hated that swindling liar! The fact that he bamboozled me — someone who prides himself on his street-smart cynicism — was simply unforgivable. Say what you will about the GOP, but when the Republicans screw you over, at least they don’t insult you by calling it “social justice.”

Oh, sure, the presidential election campaign is stumbling toward its conclusion, but is there anything new to say about that? Hillary Clinton is nearly 6 points ahead in the Real Clear Politics average of national polls, and the “no toss-ups” map shows her winning the Electoral College by a margin of 333 to 205, and even if the polls are all biased, I doubt anything I might write about the campaign at this point would influence the outcome. Meanwhile, lesbian teachers are molesting Catholic schoolgirls:

The Dauphin County District Attorney’s office arrested and charged a Bishop McDevitt High School teacher with dozens of child sex abuse counts Thursday.
Randi Lynn Zurenko, 33, of Millerstown, Perry County, is charged with 13 counts of institutional sexual assault, 153 counts of sexual abuse of children, 33 counts of unlawful contact with minors, 20 counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor and 13 counts of corruption of minors.
Between January 1, 2013, and October 14, 2016, Zurenko sexually abused two Bishop McDevitt students while she was a teacher at the school in Lower Paxton Township, according to DA Ed Marsico Jr.’s office.
The DA’s office said Zurenko and the first victim had “an encounter” at Fort Hunter park in Susquehanna Township before the student graduated in 2013.
During the meeting, Zurenko massaged the student’s back and undid her bra, and she gave the underage victim alcohol several times, before and after the student graduated from Bishop McDevitt, the DA’s office said. . . .
In early 2015, Zurenko also began sexually abusing a second student, and continued to do so until Oct. 14, the DA’s office said. Zurenko had sex with the second victim, according to the DA’s office.
She also took pictures of the second student in various stages of undress, Marsico’s office said, and took pictures of her and the student having sex. . . ..

You can read the whole thing.

Now, you may say stories like that are trivial, but is there no larger significance to these headlines? Isn’t it possible that we are witnessing a trend? Couldn’t these events be symptomatic of cultural decadence?

When you consider what sort of “higher education” students are receiving at Marquette University, an allegedly Catholic school, these headlines might still be shocking, but they’re not exactly surprising.

The frog is being boiled slowly, so that we gradually become accustomed to accept things which seemed utterly unacceptable — even perhaps unimaginable — not too long ago. Hideous evil is rampant in America.

Left to right: Gregory Walker, Lillian Roberts and Ernest Coleman.

3 plead guilty in Detroit teen’s slaying
Three people pleaded guilty Wednesday in the kidnapping and killing of a 13-year-old Detroit boy who vanished this year after reportedly taking less than $100 outside an east side store, prosecutors said. . . .
Ernest Coleman faced charges of torture, unlawful imprisonment, felony firearm, felon in possession and habitual third offender in the slaying of Deontae Mitchell, said Maria Miller, a spokeswoman for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. A sentence evaluation found 12-15 years on the torture charge, 10-15 years for unlawful imprisonment, 1-5 years for felon in possession and 2 years for felony firearm, consecutive.
Lillian Roberts pleaded to second-degree murder and kidnapping charges for a sentencing agreement of 24-40 years behind bars, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Gregory Walker pleaded to second-degree murder, kidnapping and felony firearm charges. His sentencing agreement calls for 40-60 years. . . .
Video footage from the scene captured the teen being forced into a car May 31 by a man, whom authorities identified as Walker, outside Nino’s Market.

Three adults kidnapping and torturing to death a 13-year-old boy, school girls being molested by lesbian teachers — these stories are not important. No coverage on CNN. Nobody knows, and so nobody cares.

There is a clear bias involved here. Do you think maybe the bias of major news organizations might have something to do with why Hillary Clinton is likely to be the next President of the United States?

The latest batch of Clinton emails to be released would be considered a bombshell in any other presidential campaign in American history. Sadly, given the lack of attention most of the media is willing to pay to them combined with the general propensity to focus on whatever Donald Trump said at his last campaign stop makes this pretty much another day that ends in a Y. Add to that the fact that pretty much all of the emails paint the same dismal picture of the lack of ethics on display in the Clinton clan and it seems as if people’s eyes just begin to glaze over.

Evil is winning. Democrats are pro-evil, and so is CNN.

Andrea Dworkin Accused Hillary Clinton of ‘Betraying Younger Women’

Andrea Dworkin on the Monica Lewinsky scandal in January 1998:

We are talking about a man who, in a predatory way, is using women, particularly young women. In this case, a woman who was working as an intern, for no money, because of her devotion to the Democratic Party and to him. In an alcove next to the Oval Office, he simply unzips his pants and she sexually services him.
Bill Clinton’s fixation on oral sex — non-reciprocal oral sex — consistently puts women in states of submission to him. It’s the most fetishistic, heartless, cold sexual exchange that one could imagine.
People are characterizing this as a sexual scandal, but it’s an abuse-of-power scandal. It corroborates what both Paula Jones and Gennifer Flowers have said, and it’s a disaster for this particular young woman, Monica. I think there probably are many more of them, but I don’t know how many will come forward. . . .
The second issue that concerns me is what Hillary Clinton is doing, which I think is appalling. She is covering up for a man who has a history of exploiting women. If there is one thing being a feminist has to mean it’s that you don’t do that. You don’t use your intellect and your creativity to protect a man’s exploitation of other women. She’s done it before and she’s doing it again.
Ever since she went to the White House as First Lady, her life has been going down the tubes. She had to give up her profession and she’s been the staunch wife standing by her husband, no matter what vile things he does to humiliate her. It’s pathetic. She should pack her bags and leave.
Women of Hillary’s age — my age — have a responsibility not to let the men who are our peers exploit and destroy younger women. It breaks my heart to see Hillary on television. It’s a performance and as such it’s a lie. Whatever kind of deal they made in their marriage, I don’t believe it included the public humiliation of her. And this has to be the most towering humiliation of all.
I had great hopes for her at the beginning. I though: “How wonderful — a feminist in the White House. She’s so smart.” But I have not understood the choices she’s made and I have not been able to respect them. In protecting her husband, she is betraying younger women.

Today’s 18-year-old voter was just a baby when Andrea Dworkin wrote that. Maybe somebody should asks today’s young “feminists” about it.

Bill Clinton Met With Anti-Police Hate Group Leader Two Months Ago

Bill Clinton and Mauricelm-Lei Millere in May.

During a campaign visit to Kentucky this year former President Bill Clinton met with the leader of a racial hate group that has been implicated in Thursday’s attack that killed five Dallas police officers.

Mauricelm-Lei Millere is leader of the African American Defense League (AADL), which has repeatedly advocated violence against police. Dallas gunman Micah Xavier Johnson supported the AADL on Facebook, where Millere’s group posted messages that declared “ATTACK EVERYTHING IN BLUE EXCEPT THE MAIL MAN” and “sprinkle Pigs Blood” prior to Thursday’s attack. On his Instagram page, Millere wrote: “We have no alternative! We must kill white police officers across the country!”

The AADL leader’s meeting with former President Clinton during a May 3 visit to the University of Kentucky is featured on Millere’s Tumblr page, where a photo of Millere shaking hands with Clinton is captioned:

Dr. Mauricelm-Lei Millere accompanies President Bill Clinton and staff around the University of Kentucky campus:
“I was invited to meet with President and Mrs. Clinton and accompany them openly on UK (University of Kentucky) campus. I appreciate his honesty during my hard hitting questions concerning race. He agrees, “anyone should be able to exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights in areas of self-defense, especially African Americans, the most targeted people in the country. I am asking for your endorsement for Hillary and I so you won’t have to.” I agreed with his assessment and replied, “Either we will all live together as brothers or we will all die together as fool.”
Dr. Mauricelm-Lei Millere – African American Defense League, Black Lives Matter.

AADL was formed in September 2014 during the “Black Lives Matter” protests in Ferguson, Missouri, where activists claimed robbery suspect Michael Brown was wrongly killed by a policeman. Subsequent investigation found Officer Darren Wilson had shot Brown in self-defense during a struggle in which Brown tried to take Officer Wilson’s pistol. However,”the lie that Brown had died in a racially motivated police execution was amplified by the media, college presidents, and the left-wing political class,” as author Heather Mac Donald wrote in her recent book The War on Cops. “The newly formed Black Lives Matter movement promoted the notion that black Americans were being hunted down and killed with impunity by renegade white police officers.”

James King and Adi Cohen of Vocativ.com report:

In the days following Brown’s death, Mauricelm-Lei Millere encouraged Black people to kill Wilson. “When you find Darren Wilson you know what to do! Whoever finds him knows what must be done! Take everything that he took from Mike Brown,” he wrote on his Facebook page, which was cited by the Anti-Defamation League, a civil rights advocacy group that tracks extremist organizations. Despite the fiery rhetoric, Millere’s actual influence seems limited.
“He uses social media to call for violence against police on a regular basis and has flirted with some hate groups like the New Black Panther Party,” Oren Segal, the director of the ADL’s Center on Extremism, told Vocativ. “But his online following seems stagnant and even his relationship with the New Black Panther Party seems tenuous, and they tend to promote anyone who is interested in them.”
Still, Millere’s “calls for violence can’t be ignored and it is hard to determine who may have been affected by his online rants,” Segal added.

Millere’s anti-police rhetoric increased immediately prior to the Dallas attack, as his Tumblr page quotes him saying on Thursday:

We have no alternative! We must kill white police officers across the country! . . . Across the country, the nation, the Blackman is being assassinated/killed like dogs! Unarmed Blackmen being shot down like animals. Two legged dogs sicking four legged dogs on our black children, young men, young women, and our black elderly. Shooting black folks down like rabid animals. We must kill the one in blue who is killing me and killing you! We must kill the white policeman across the country! We must hide in the darkness of the night and kill the white policeman across the country!

After Thursday’s massacre in Dallas, Hillary Clinton blamed “white people” and police. “I’m going to be talking to white people, we’re the ones who have to start listening to the legitimate cries coming from our African-American fellow citizens,” Mrs. Clinton told CNN Friday. “Clearly, there seems to be a terrible disconnect between many police departments and officers and the people they have sworn to protect.”

Meanwhile, police are being targeted in ambush attacks. In Missouri, a police officer was critically wounded Friday in what officials say was “clearly an ambush” by 31-year-old Antonio Taylor, who had a lengthy history of violent crime. In Georgia, a police officer was ambushed Friday after responding to a 911 call in Valdosta. Officer Randall Hancock is recovering after being shot; the suspect, Stephen Paul Beck, was wounded when Officer Hancock returned fire.

In Tennessee, officials indicated race was a motive for Thursday’s shooting rampage in which a woman was killed and two others injured before the gunman was shot in a gun battle with police. Officer Matthew Cousins was wounded in the exchange of fire with suspect Lakeem Keon Scott, 37. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement: “Preliminarily, the investigation reveals Scott may have targeted individuals and officers after being troubled by recent incidents involving African-Americans and law enforcement officers in other parts of the country.” Scott was receiving disability payments and did not have a job. “He seemed to be getting more and more frustrated with the condition of black people in America,” his brother Gerard Griffin told WVLT-TV.
