‘Piss Karl’: Rove’s Genius Media Strategy

Posted on | February 28, 2011 | 6 Comments

Ben Smith points out that New York magazine hired “Piss Christ” photographer Andres Serrano to do a portrait of Karl Rove, and I wonder if Rove expected the resulting profile feature by Joe Hagan to include such sentences as this:

The woman, Karen Johnson, is a lobbyist rumored to have been Rove’s mistress before his divorce from his second wife in 2009.

Given that Rove is a major “get,” he might have told the editors at New York: “Sure, I’d be glad to do the story, if you will give the assignment to Matt Continetti or John McCormack or . . .”

Never mind. Rove’s a genius, and needs no advice from mere mortals.

Oh, Noes! Moammar Qaddafi Abandoned by ‘Voluptuous Blonde’ Ukrainian Nurse

Posted on | February 28, 2011 | 6 Comments

In January, we told you about Galyna, the “voluptuous blonde” Ukrainian nurse whose . . . um, services to Libyan dictator Moammar Qaddafi were described by the U.S. ambassador in a diplomatic cable obtained by WikiLeaks. Now, we have a sure sign that the situation in Tripoli has reached dire proportions:

Galyna Kolotnytska returned to Kiev on Sunday morning on a plane with 185 other Ukrainian evacuees, including other medics, Ukrainian media reported.

Lauren Frayer at AOL News has more:

Neighbors spotted her later that day going shopping with her mother outside Kiev.
Reporters surrounded her simple, ground-floor apartment there, until her adult daughter Tetyana emerged to address them.
“Please understand, Mom is so tired right now. Let her have some rest,” the daughter told Agence France-Presse and others, hinting that her mother, who spent nine years in Libya, may speak out at a later date.

Expect Qaddafi to quit soon, because let’s face it: What’s the point of being a brutal dictator if you don’t have a voluptuous blonde Ukrainian nurse to attend your . . . um, medical needs?

Another Year, More ‘Why Do The Oscar Ratings Resemble Those Of CNN?’

Posted on | February 28, 2011 | 3 Comments

by Smitty

Props to Matt Drudge for keeping a straight face for the ‘unexpected’ bad ratings.  Should they bring in the president’s speech writers, one wonders?

Not even inverting the image could breath interest into it.

We understand that, in a globalized movie market, the rest of the world is entertained by the sight of Hollywood pissing down the American back.
Could it possibly be that the American public does not believe Hollywood’s claims of rain?

Just as the Tea Parties are giving American politics a facelift, so too are outfits like Declaration Entertainment and Little Miss Attila’s own Right Network handling the cultural end of things.  If you’re not already supporting DE and RN, then you know what you need to do.

Do you hear that, ye misbegotten pack of Hollywood clowns?  Keep whistling past the graveyard, you losers.

Tell It to the Marines!

“There were a few gay girls who lived in the barracks. . . . The other gay girls had affairs with each other in the barracks, and ‘hit’ on other girls in the barracks. This really freaked out some of the Marines. We were all very young, and inexperienced in these types of situations.
“It was very disruptive, and very distracting. It hurt military cohesion. Since the girls who were trouble makers knew they could be thrown out of the military, they were somewhat careful not to over-step certain limits on their behavior.
“If gay behavior in the military is permitted, there will not be any reprimand for this type of behavior.”

Herman Cain Wins Phoenix Straw Poll

Posted on | February 28, 2011 | 4 Comments

Gathering momentum:

Which Republican should become the next president? Herman Cain, according to a number of Tea Party activists gathered at a weekend summit in Phoenix.
Cain, a conservative talk show host and former Godfather’s Pizza chief executive, won the American Policy Summit’s presidential live straw poll on Sunday.
Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas won the summit’s online poll.
The survey is a chance for conservative activists gathered on the last day of the Tea Party Patriots conference to name their favorite presidential picks.
Cain won nearly 22 percent of the nearly 1,600 votes cast. Paul won nearly half the votes cast by more than 2,300 online registered attendees.

Rule 5 Sunday: Pistolero

Posted on | February 27, 2011 | 8 Comments

I’m inclined to begin this week’s roundup of Rule 5 posts a bit differently, with a link to the gallery of Oleg Volk, who does a lot of good work in the RKBA field and shoots some outstanding photographs besides. Like this one, for example, which combines a beautiful woman with good-quality weapons – a common theme in much of Oleg’s work. Check out the gallery, but be aware some of the pix are NSFW.

Moving on to our folder of Rule 5 posts, once again the leadoff spot belongs to Soylent Green, who brings the Humpday Hawtness (some pix NSFW), follows it with the obligatory corset cromulence, adds Anine Bing as a palate cleanser, and finally celebrates his 1000th post with some lush (NSFW) young ladies.

Joe The CPA is right: there aren’t many Rule 5 opportunities in the tax business, so we have to grab one when it comes along. No revealing pix of the defendant in this case, unfortunately, but there is a pic of Laurie Dhue showing off her legs. Mmmm.

Fishersville Mike notes the addition of Mayim Bialik to “Big Bang Theory”. Looks like she’ll fit right in! All this and brains too, as the T-shirt says. While we’re talking about TV shows, The Rio Norte Line brings us some “Glee”-related Rule 5.

Elsewhere, the Eye of Polyphemus lights on Angelina Jolie, and Three Beers Later offers a video of Pole Dancing Instructors Unleashed.

In the Camp of the Saints, the Rule 5 week started with Sabrina Ferrelli, continued with a comparison of Tennesse State Rep Julia Hurley (R-Awesome) to Qaddhafi’s amazonian guards, greeted Thursday with an impressive collection of Rule 5 lovelies, and closed the week with the unsmiling Janice Raymond.

Maggie’s Notebook presents  Kiwi conservative Rachel Hunter and some Rule 5 linkagery of her own; Dustbury brings us the actress who could have been Tarzan’s Jane and Rashida Jones.

That’s it for this week. Send your links for next week’s roundup to me at Rule 5 Wombat.
