Google’s LGBTQ+ Totalitarians

A perfect example of how the SJWs have taken over at Google:

Dozens of Google employees have sent an open letter to the organizers of San Francisco’s annual Pride parade urging them to kick Google’s company float out of the parade.
In a letter posted to Medium, the employees wrote of a work atmosphere where concerns from LGBTQ employees are regularly brushed aside.
“We have spent countless hours advocating for our company to improve policies and practices regarding the treatment of LGBTQ+ persons, the depiction of LGBTQ+ persons, and harassment and hate speech directed at LGBTQ+ persons, on YouTube and other Google products,” the letter read.

Stephen Kruiser summarizes: “The gist of the letter isn’t that Google’s LGBTQ+ employees are being treated badly at work, but that the company isn’t stringent enough about cracking down on WRONG SPEECH on YouTube.” In other words, Google hires gay people who then seek to damage the company they work for, in order to pressure the company to engage in totalitarian censorship of anyone they don’t like.

Now do you understand what the firing of James Damore was really about? The LGBT community has become toxic in its politics, abandoning any pretense of seeking “tolerance” and instead demanding that the rest of us obey their diktats or else be banished into outer darkness.

Just the other day, a survey found “that young Americans — generally regarded as the most socially tolerant generation — are less comfortable with LGBTQ people than in previous years. The survey . . . found that Americans aged 18 to 34 who say they are comfortable interacting with queer people fell from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018 — even among those whom the report considers ‘allies’ to the LGBTQ community.” This is very much like the little-mentioned backlash that followed the triumph of the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Prior to the mid-1960s, sympathy for the plight of black people in the South under Jim Crow was widespread in the North. But after passage of the landmark civil-rights legislation in 1964 and 1965, there occurred a wave of urban riots across the North, and rather suddenly the Yankees realized that maybe “integration” wasn’t going to be a risk-free process for them. These were the years (1966-69) when radicals like Eldridge Cleaver abandoned non-violence and intergrationist rhetoric, instead demanding “Black Power,” and threatening violence in pursuit of that goal.

So now, after their triumph in the Obergefell case, LGBT activists have taken a similar radical path, and even young people who consider themselves “allies” are becoming uncomfortable with them.

Somebody should warn Taylor Swift she’s on the wrong side of history.

Stephen Green nails it: “It was a high-speed multiperson press conference where the questions were asked by cheerleaders. That’s the show the DNC wanted, and it’s the show NBC delivered.”

Julian Castro had the biggest gaffe of the night:

In the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate on Wednesday, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Julián Castro said that “reproductive justice” involves allowing “trans females” to get abortions. Even in terms of pandering to the transgender community, this was a huge fail.
“I don’t believe only in reproductive freedom. I believe in reproductive justice,” Castro declared. “Just because a woman, or let’s also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female, is poor doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the right to exercise this right to choose.” He went on to pledge that he would appoint judges who would uphold Roe v. Wade (1973).
In this brief statement, the former HUD secretary not only supported taxpayer funding for abortion, overturning the Hyde Amendment (which protects pro-life taxpayers from having their money being used to fund abortion). Castro also mixed up the meaning of transgender identities.
According to transgender identity, gender identity is more real than biological sex. A “transgender male” refers to a biological female who identifies as male. A “transgender female” refers to a biological male who identifies as female.
While transgender activists would call for abortion access for transgender people, they would demand it for “transgender men,” not “transgender women.” It is impossible for a “transgender female” to get an abortion, unless he gets a womb transplant.
Feminist author Sady Doyle called his error “a wild rollercoaster of emotion.”
“Castro supports overturning Hyde and confuses trans women with trans men in the same sentence, which is a wild rollercoaster of emotion,” she tweeted.

National Review‘s Jim Geraghty:

Elizabeth Warren treaded water, Cory Booker and Julian Castro found their grooves, Bill de Blasio vented his anger and may have created some buzz, Beto O’Rourke had a terrible night, and everybody else on the bottom stayed on the bottom. . . .
It’s time to call it — [O’Rourke] thoroughly underwhelming as a debater and wildly overrated as a public speaker. Answering the first question in Spanish, unprompted, looked like a pandering gimmick. He had some better moments as the night progressed, but he was hit so many times by so many other candidates he must have felt like . . . a piñata.

Roger Kimball:

The best comment I heard tonight came from my 11-year-old daughter. Walking into my study at one point and overhearing something Elizabeth Warren said about ‘corporations’ or ‘Medicare for All,’ she asked ‘does she know about a thing called money?’

Indeed, while the liberal media seem to think Warren did just fine, her wild-eye attacks on corporations — profit is bad! — indicated a woman who knows nothing about money except how to spend it.

Ten candidates, including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and washed-out wonderboy Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, will take the stage tonight in Miami, and i’ve got my TV tuned to MSNBC already. The pre-debate discussion — currently being anchored by Nicolle Wallace — is insane. Can’t imagine how the actual debate will be.

UPDATE: Swear to God, watching a half-hour of MSNBC is like stepping through the looking-glass into an alternate reality. They’re sitting around talking about the traumatic experience of 2016. Yeah, it was so traumatic — I nearly laughed myself to death.

UPDATE 9:07 p.m. ET: Beto just spoke Spanish and went overtime.

UPDATE 9:09 p.m. ET: Corey Booker, “famous heterosexual” as Ace calls him, just said some stuff about how “this economy is not working for average Americans.” Booker lumped Amazon in with Enron?

UPDATE 9:12 p.m. ET: Julian Castro just talked about growing up poor and immediately segued into passing the Equal Rights Amendment.

UPDATE 9:13 p.m. ET: “For too long, our leadership failed us,” says Tulsi Gabbard, speaking of U.S. foreign policy.

UPDATE 9:14 p.m. ET: Mayor Bill DeBlasio just endorsed a 70% top tax rate.

UPDATE 9:15 p.m. ET: John Delaney has zero chance. The man has no charisma. He is not merely charisma deficient, he is the opposite of charismatic.

UPDATE 9:16 p.m. ET: Some guy — I missed his name — just went on a rant in favor of wind turbines as the jobs of the future or something.

UPDATE 9:19 p.m. ET: Elizabeth Warren hates giant corporations. She loves “green technology,” claiming there is a $23 trillion market for green products.

UPDATE 9:21 p.m. ET: Amy Klobuchar wants a “public option” for health care. Accuses Trump of “giveaways” to pharmaceutical companies.

UPDATE 9:22 p.m. ET: Elizabeth Warren hates insurance companies, because profits and stuff. She endorses “Medicare for all.”

UPDATE 9:24 p.m. ET: Beto wants “high-quality universal health care.” He considers abortion basic health care.

UPDATE 9:25 p.m. ET: DeBlasio jumped in and started lecturing Beto, then Delaney jumps in and says “Medicare for all” will put hospitals out of business.

UPDATE 9:27 p.m. ET: Tulsi Gabbard is very attractive. I mean, just looking at her versus looking at Elizabeth Warren? It’s Gabbard by a landslide. So I’ll guess she will gain a point or so in the polls, on that basis alone.

UPDATE 9:28 p.m. ET: Elizabeth Warren really hates profit. Health insurance companies are profitable, so she hates them.

UPDATE 9:29 p.m. ET: Everybody started talking at once, and then Amy Klobuchar started talking about women’s “right to choose.”

UPDATE 9:30 p.m. ET: Julian Castro just endorsed taxpayer-funded abortion for the “trans community,” and the audience cheered.

UPDATE 9:32 p.m. ET: OK, I’ve watched a half-hour of this circus, and I need to go smoke a cigarette to try to calm down. It’s crazy.

UPDATE 9:45 p.m. ET: Sorry I was gone so long. Fixed myself a couple of hot dogs while I was out. When I got back, Beto was arguing with Julian Castro about immigration. They’re both for open borders, so I don’t know what the argument was really about.

UPDATE 9:47 p.m. ET: Tim Ryan loves immigrants almost as much as he hates Republicans. The audience applauds.

UPDATE 10:47 p.m. ET: Rachel Maddow just asked John Delaney if President Trump should be prosecuted after leaving office. Delaney said this is not an issue that the American people care about. True, sir, but this is MSNBC, and their audience cares about nothing else.

UPDATE 11 p.m. ET: It’s over, thank God. I don’t know what it means. I suppose we’ll have to wait for Thursday’s debate, and then after that wait for the next few polls to see if this had any impact.

Stalinist Regime at Google Is Still Lying

Several executives at Google have deleted their social-media accounts after Project Veritas exposed their partisan bias. One of the totalitarians at Google, “Responsible Innovation” Commissar Jen Genai, has resorted to claiming that Project Veritas “edited the video” to create a false impression about the company’s efforts to prevent Trump’s re-election.

Meanwhile, Project Veritas has published a leaked email in which another Google totalitarian, Liam Hopkins, smears PragerU, Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro as “nazis” producing “right-wing content.”

This all goes back to what we learned from the firing of James Damore: Google is staffed by left-wing ideologues, who consider any dissent from their radical agenda to be “hate,” and they are determined to prevent conservative ideas from being disseminated on their platform.

The story is about former Fox News correspondent “Campaign Carl” Cameron joining a website called Front Page Live, but that’s not the real story. Instead, what caught my eye is that the site is run by Joseph Romm, a former Clinton administration official who has spent more than a decade at John Podesta’s Center for American Progress:

Cameron teamed up with Joseph Romm, the founding editor of ClimateProgress, to create Front Page Live, the Post reported, which describes itself as “a site dedicated to helping diverse voices and content go viral, and a news source that reflects the values of the majority of good people on our amazing planet.”
“Part of our goal is to be an antidote to the Drudge Report. But whereas Drudge aggregates and viralizes right-wing content, which includes a lot of disinformation and climate science denial, we will aim to aggregate and viralize accurate news,” Romm, who serves as editor-in-chief and CEO, said in a statement to The Hill. “We are ‘liberal’ only in the sense that climate science has been labeled ‘liberal’ by climate science deniers.”
“We are trying to be a place that will save people time because it’s simply way too hard for anyone to sip quality water from the open fire hydrant that is online news and social media — especially because there is so much sewage thrown in,” he added.
Romm told The Washington Post that he views the organization as a “viralizing engine” for the left.

You want to launch a news site and you start by smearing Drudge?

The assertion that what Drudge does is “right-wing . . . disinformation” shows how out of touch with reality Joseph Romm is. He is a monomaniacal fanatic, obsessed with “climate change,” and if you put somebody like that in charge of a news site, failure is guaranteed.
