Police are hunting for 14 teenagers caught on video brutally beating a tourist outside a renowned hotel in Washington, DC.
Disturbing surveillance footage recorded at the entrance to the Washington Hilton Hotel at around 1am on July 14 shows the group of girls and boys believed to be around 13-14 years old attacking the man as he lies defenseless on the ground.
The video was released by the Metropolitan Police Department on Wednesday.
Authorities have asked for the public’s help in identifying the assailants.
The video shows the gang of teens exchanging a few words with the man before one of the boys punches him, knocking him backwards.
The rest of the group joins in and they proceed to kick and punch the man repeatedly.

To me, what’s most shocking about the video is that the Hilton is a posh hotel in the affluent Northwest section of D.C., off Connecticut Avenue a few blocks from Dupont Circle. Why was this gang of teenagers loitering around the entrance to the hotel in the first place? And what were those “few words” exchanged between the tourist and his assailants that preceded the beating? But we are supposed to shrug our shoulders and not spend too much time thinking about this frightening scene in terms of what it might symbolize about our society.

Meet the Women Who Ruined Twitter

Twitter rolled out a site redesign this week and it sucks — a giant leap backward, to a clunky and inefficient user interface. Who did this? It was a crew of social-justice quota hires:

IN JANUARY . . . following Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s return from a 10-day silent meditation trip to Myanmar, about which he praised the food and the beauty of the monasteries but neglected to mention the ongoing regional genocide, Twitter made it clear that some things were about to change. . . .
It was time to give the experience of using Twitter a makeover.
A redesign of Twitter’s website was long overdue. The desktop interface hadn’t been refreshed in seven years . . .
“Personalization and customization — that’s something we hope to start bringing out throughout the product,” says Ashlie Ford, the product designer who led Twitter[dot]com’s redesign. . . .
“People use Twitter a lot on desktop to look for information, and it tends to be around their interests,” says Jesar Shah, the web redesign’s product lead. “So we’re trying to make that easier for people, and leverage these new spaces we’ve created on the site and compliment their primary browsing experience.” . . .
“Internally, we call this project ‘Delight,’” says Shah. “One of the things we’re trying to do is make sure this is a delightful experience for users.”

It’s not “delightful.” It’s a nightmare. It’s wrong. You screwed it up.

But they’ll never be held accountable for their failure. That’s the thing about “social justice” as a human-resources policy — if your employer decides it needs to hire more “women of color,” just to satisfy some diversity goal, the people hired under this policy can never be fired, no matter how spectacularly incompetent they are, or no matter how much harm their failures inflict on the company’s profitability.

Six months or a year from now, when the metrics show that “New Twitter” has been a complete disaster, the quota hires responsible for this disaster will not suffer any actual consequences for their failure. Remember when Marissa Mayer became CEO of Yahoo in 2012 and everybody was like, “Yeah, GRRRL POWER!” What happened? In 2013, Yahoo paid $1.1 billion for Tumblr, which proved to be such a disaster that within three years Yahoo had to admit that the site was “basically worthless,” and in 2017 Yahoo was sold to Verizon, with Mayer getting a buyout of more than $20 million. No consequences.

A North Carolina man has died after contracting an illness caused by a “brain-eating amoeba,” public health officials said.
Laboratory testing confirmed the man, identified by local media as Eddie Gray, was sickened by Naegleria fowleri after swimming at Fantasy Lake Water Park in Cumberland County earlier this month, according to officials with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Cumberland County Department of Public Health. Infections like Gray’s are rare but typically occur when it is hot for prolonged periods of time, according to the release.
“Our sympathies are with the family and loved ones,” said state epidemiologist Zack Moore. “People should be aware that this organism is present in warm freshwater lakes, rivers and hot springs across North Carolina, so be mindful as you swim or enjoy water sports.”

From the health department:

Naegleria fowleri, referred to as the brain-eating amoeba, does not cause illness if swallowed but can be fatal if forced up the nose, as can occur during diving, water-skiing or other water activities. . . .
Symptoms of Naegleria fowleri infection start with severe headache, fever, nausea and vomiting and progress to stiff neck, seizures and coma.
Local health officials are working with the water park to provide guidance and education about the presence of Naegleria fowleri and how to take precautions when in natural bodies of freshwater.

The world has so many ways to kill us. It’s a miracle any of us survive.

Jonathan ‘Jessica’ Yaniv and How Transgenderism Destroys ‘Rights’

Last November, I wrote a post (“Jonathan Yaniv Is Not a Woman and #IStandWithMeghanMurphy”) about how a delusional pervert named Jonathan Yaniv (who calls himself “Jessica” and claims to be a woman) had gotten Canadian feminist Meghan Murphy banned from Twitter.

In the past week, there has been a surge of search traffic to that post because (a) Yaniv got Lindsay Shepherd banned from Twitter for “misgendering” him, and (b) Yaniv’s “human rights” claims against women who refused to wax his genitals was the subject of a tribunal hearing that “devolved into chaos,” according to the Toronto Sun:

Jessica Yaniv, the complainant, argued she was entitled to receive the advertised wax service and that if the tribunal ruled against her it could lead to a “dangerous” precedent.
Yaniv’s claim emerged after she was denied a Brazilian wax of her male genitalia at a home salon in Vancouver.
At one point, Yaniv compared the business owner — a female immigrant of colour — to a neo-Nazi.
The lawyer for the business owner accused the complainant of engaging in “half-truths and fabrications.”
Tribunal adjudicator Devyn Cousineau frequently had to interject to maintain decorum and to keep the hearing from becoming even more chaotic.
But a substantive question remained at the core of the raucous daylong hearing: should a business be allowed to deny service on the basis of gender identity?
“You cannot choose who your clientele is going to be,” Yaniv said.
However, business owner Marcia Da Silva said she was not comfortable carrying out a Brazilian wax on a person with male genitalia, nor did she have the training for it.
Jay Cameron, Da Silva’s lawyer and litigation manager with the Alberta-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, told the hearing that a ruling against his client would be tantamount to ordering “intimate services” against someone’s will.
Yaniv has filed more than a dozen complaints and is a frequent flier at the human rights commission. She describes herself as a digital marketing expert and LGBTQ activist.

Who is Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv? Feminist bloggers have accused Yaniv, among other things, of having a perverted obsession with menstruation and a creepy fixation of pubescent girls. Yaniv once ran the Facebook fan page of the Cimorelli sisters, a singing group who became popular on YouTube, and it is now alleged that he engaged in predatory behavior with the group’s young female fans:

On July 22nd, 20-year-old Jessica Rumpel provided The Post Millennial with evidence of explosive allegations of the sexual interference she experienced as a young teen at the hands of Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv. . . .
In the aftermath of Rumpel’s bravery, two new victims have come forward, and, as unbelievable as it might be, their intersecting stories are even more shocking.
Twenty-year-old Ashley Smith of Ontario, whose name is being altered due to trauma and for the protection of her work and family, says she was victimized when, like Rumpel, she was a teen.
Ashley was just 14. . . .
Like with Rumpel, Yaniv also sent Smith disturbing messages centred around menstruation.
In one of the messages Smith has provided, Yaniv is seen saying “I want to be really good friends with you, like really close” and asking the 14-year-old to tell them when she’s got her period. In another, Yaniv asks for advice on how to get feminine hygiene products from girls, what kinds of girls to ask, and whether or not to hang around outside of girls’ washrooms.

What is interesting is how, despite his gross perversion, Yaniv’s transgenderism has permitted him to bully and silence critics by invoking a concept of “rights” in which his behavior is off-limits to criticism. In other words, transgender “rights” is a zero-sum game which eliminates the rights of everyone else. It’s not about “equality,” it’s about forcing everyone else to bow down in obeisance to our transgender overlords.

The Mifsud Mystery

Who is Joseph Mifsud? That question got a lot of attention Wednesday after Republican Rep. Jim Jordan pinned down Robert Mueller in the House Judiciary Committee hearing, asking the former Special Counsel why Mifsud wasn’t charged with lying to investigators. Mueller’s report mentions Mifsud, a former Maltese diplomat and now a London-based academic, 87 times. It was Mifsud who first told Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos that Russia had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. Papadopoulos later repeated this to Australian diplomat Alexander Downer, who then reported it to the FBI, thus creating the pretext for opening an investigation into the Trump campaign. Misfud’s role in all this is, according to a report in The Hill by John Solomon, a key question being investigated by John Durham, appointed by Attorney General William Barr to explore the origins of the RussiaGate story.

Jordan’s questioning of Mueller in Wednesday’s hearing was brutal:

JORDAN: You gave us the answer. Page 192 of the report you tell us who told him. Joseph Mifsud. Joseph Mifsud is the guy who told Papadopoulos. The mysterious professor who lives in Rome and London. Works and teaches at two different universities. This is the guy who told Papadopoulos. He’s the guy who starts it all. And when the FBI interviews him, he lies three times and yet you don’t charge him with a crime. You charge Rick Gates for false statements. You charge Paul Manafort for false statements. You charge Michael Cohen with false statements. You charge Michael Flynn, a three star general with false statements. But the guy who puts the country through this whole saga starts it all for three years we’ve lived this now–he lies and you guys don’t charge him. And I’m curious as to why.
MUELLER: Well, I can’t get into it and — and it’s obvious, I think that we can’t get into charging decisions.
JORDAN: When the FBI interviewed him in February — FBI interviews him in February. When the special counsel’s interviews Mifsud, did he lie to you guys too?
MUELLER: Can’t get into that.
JORDAN: Did you interview Mifsud?
MUELLER: Can’t get into that.
JORDAN: Is Mifsud western intelligence or Russian intelligence?
MUELLER: Can’t get into that.
JORDAN: A lot of things you can’t get into. What’s interesting — you can charge 13 Russians no one has ever heard of, no one has ever seen, no one is ever going to hear of them, no one is every going to see them — you can charge them–you can charge all kinds of people who are around the president with false statements but the guy who launches every — the guy who puts this whole story in motion you can’t charge him. I think that’s amazing.
MUELLER: (INAUDIBLE) I’m not certain I–I agree with your characterization.
JORDAN: Well, I’m reading from your report. Mifsud told Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos tells the diplomat. The diplomat tells the FBI. The FBI opens the investigation July 31st, 2016 and here we are three years later, July of 2019. The country’s been put through this and this central figure who launches it all — lies to us and you guys don’t hunt him down and interview him again and you don’t charge him with a crime.

Here’s the big secret that Jim Jordan was driving at: Joseph Mifsud may have been working for U.S. intelligence — perhaps indirectly, on the payroll of a CIA front — and in his contact with Papadopoulos, may have been acting as an agent provocateur. In other words, the CIA may have been using Mifsud to test whether Papadopoulos was vulnerable to exploitation, and this “Russia has dirt on Hillary” business was part of the test. When Mueller says he “can’t get into that,” what he’s saying is that he’s forbidden by law from discussing “sources and methods” of U.S. intelligence, and this is a huge clue that the CIA was somehow involved in RussiaGate — a phony hoax that Hillary Clinton used during the 2016 campaign to smear Trump as Vladimir Putin’s “puppet.”

Who was calling the shots behind the scenes in 2016, when all this shadowy stuff was going on around Papadopoulos and Trump aide Carter Page? What was the role of Fusion GPS in this? As Ace of Spades remarked yesterday, it seems that dossier compiler “Christopher Steele provided cover as a front man for conspiracy theories first adduced by [Clinton supporters] Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer.” This would mean that the true origin of the RussiaGate hoax was the Clinton campaign itself, and if it is true that Russian intelligence hacked the DNC emails — well, how and why did that happen? Were the Russians doing this to help the Trump campaign? Or was there some ulterior motive?

We should soon start getting answers to some of these questions, and I don’t think the Democrats will be pleased by what we learn.
