CPAC: Guilt by Association

The hate-watchers at the SPLC can click on that photo above to enlarge it. Peter Brimelow is author of the 1995 bestseller Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster, and Michelle Malkin wrote the 2002 bestseller Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, And Other Foreign Menaces To Our Shores.
To see Brimelow and Malkin together at CPAC shows how the issue of immigration unites good Americans on one side — in favor of enforcing our laws and protecting our borders — just as it unites vicious swine of all kinds on the open-borders side of the issue. No one should ever doubt which side of that issue I am on, and let the SPLC crowd can call me a hater all they want. Brimelow is officially hate-listed by the SPLC, and you can see from her mentions at the SPLC website (e.g., “Trump Adviser, Hate Group Leaders and Anti-Immigrant Politicians Attend FAIR’s Hold Their Feet to the Fire”) what the poverty pimps in Montgomery think of Malkin. It’s a very simple trick of liberal rhetoric: First, declare that anyone who disagrees with your policy agenda is guilty of “hate” and then, using this phony definition, begin blacklisting the opposition, in order to silence dissent. This tactic will inevitably produce a defensive “flinch” reaction on the part of cowardly people who fear damage to their reputations, and who therefore will act as handmaidens to the hate-listers, by distancing themselves from the targeted “haters.”
Worst of all are people who call themselves “conservative” but in fact operate as a controlled opposition to liberals. Some of those people got called out by name in Malkin’s CPAC speech:
Congress has repeatedly mandated a nationwide visa entry-exit system to track legal short-term visa holders. But one has yet to be built—even in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which were perpetrated in part by several illegal alien visa overstayers. E-verify has been stalled. Sanctuary cities metastasized. And BOTH parties are to blame – yeah I’m looking at you, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, the Bush family, Mitt Romney and the ghost of John McCain. . . .
Color of Change and the smear machine racket known as the Southern Poverty Law Center use the same playbook to marginalize and criminalize mainstream conservatives, anti-jihad groups, and immigration hawks as “hate groups” and push us out of the public square. They conspire with payment processors and Silicon Valley to deprive the Right of our voices and our ability to make a living. So many speaking up and fighting on the front lines for liberty and security are being detwittered depaypaled defacebooked deplatformed — people like Laura Loomer and Gavin McInnes and the Center for Immigration Studies and Robert Spencer and so many others. . . .
Watch the whole thing on video:
It was a helluva of speech and sparked a helluva reaction. She’s an enormously courageous woman, and deserves your support.

CPAC: Getting the Big Ticket
Posted on | March 1, 2019 | Comments Off on CPAC: Getting the Big Ticket
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland
After breakfast this morning, I stepped out front for a smoke and the street was lined with cop cars, lights flashing. A minute later, up the block, I saw the vice-presidential motorcade speed past, bringing Mike Pence to speak at CPAC — a speech I will watch from my hotel room, because I don’t want to go through all the security hassles to get into the Potomac Ballroom. Meanwhile, a few images from yesterday . . .
With my good friend Evan Sayet.
With talk-radio host Tony Katz.
With former White House spokesman Sean Spicer.
And here’s the really big ticket:
Raheem Kassam had what I wanted — a ticket to his Saturday night invitation-only CPAC party — and he also had something else I wanted, a newsworthy quote: “I think we’re winning.”
A former editor for Breitbart who is now a fellow at the Claremont Institute, Kassam was talking about the Left’s campaign to silence conservative voices on social media. That campaign ensnared him this week, when his personal Facebook account was suspended. Kassam’s ban got the attention of Donald Trump Jr., who tweeted: “I’m sure this was an ‘accident’ like I’ve been hearing from the social media masters. Funny that the accidents only happen one way.” Shortly afterwards, Kassam’s account was restored, a result he credited to the intervention by the President’s son. Facebook never explained why Kassam was temporarily banned, although many suspected it was an attempt to intimidate the popular author of No Go Zones: How Sharia Law Is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You. An ex-Muslim who formerly worked for UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, Kassam is not easily intimidated, and he sees the social-media crackdown on conservatives as evidence that the Left is frightened.
“If the other side wasn’t afraid, they wouldn’t be coming down so heavy-handed on people,” Kassam told me in an interview near Radio Row at the 46th annual Conservative Political Action Conference. “If [President Trump] gets re-elected next year, I think you’re going to see serious legislation about this — a Digital Bill of Rights.” . . .

CPAC: ‘The JOOOZZ!’
Posted on | February 28, 2019 | Comments Off on CPAC: ‘The JOOOZZ!’
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland
In the lobby of my hotel, the Young Jewish Conservatives are meeting tonight, and the national media are nowhere in sight because of course, this doesn’t fit the liberal narrative which is that (a) Trump is Hitler and (b) Republicans are Nazis. So many things about CPAC are beyond the perimeter of what the media want to report that if you really want to know what’s going on here, you have to either be here, or read my blog.
Jacob Wohl, Jack Burkman and Laura Loomer held a press conference today that the media will do their best to ignore:
Rep. Ilhan Omar “married her brother and she defrauded the United States,” Jacob Wohl said Thursday afternoon in a press conference at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Announcing the result of a recent investigation by the website Culttture that took a crew of conservative activists to the freshman Democrat’s Minnesota district, Wohl presented the findings of their investigation in an eight-page report concluding that Omar’s marriage to her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, was “part of a nefarious attempted immigration scheme… in the service of two federal felonies: immigration fraud and student loan fraud.”
Omar is one of the most prominent new members of Congress, elected as the first Somali-American as Nancy Pelosi’s Democrats recaptured the House after eight years of GOP control. The latest issue of Rolling Stone features a cover photo of Pelosi posing with Omar, New York Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, and Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes, hailing them as “Women Shaping the Future.”
Wohl appeared with Internet personality Laura Loomer and Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman in the lobby of the Gaylord, where they were surrounded by a scrum of reporters and activists attending the 46th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Wohl and Loomer have been banned from Twitter, and contend that their banishments were retaliation for their support of President Trump and their efforts to expose Omar’s anti-Semitic extremism. In her case, Loomer said Twitter succumbed to a pressure campaign by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has connections to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. “Why is a designated foreign terrorist organization lobbying with Twitter, an American social media company, to ban a Jewish-American conservative journalist who is exposing the anti-Semitism, the fraud and the terrorism ties that Ilhan Omar has?” Loomer said at the press conference. “It’s egregious.” . . .
You can read the rest at The American Spectator.
Other reporters were at this press conference. Where are their stories? Given Omar’s prominence, isn’t this newsworthy? Perhaps some might say that they don’t believe what Wohl and Loomer say they’ve found. OK, fine. Call Omar’s office and get a statement from her denouncing them, but if you’re so convinced that Omar is innocent, why not investigate the story yourself and prove she did nothing wrong?
But liberal journalists never investigate Democrats, so Omar can pal around with Hamas and CNN can’t be bothered to notice, whereas by contrast if any Republican got within handshake distance of an anti-Semite, it would be front page news in the New York Times and 24/7 on CNN. In other words, liberals aren’t actually against anti-Semitism; they only pretend to be against it when it’s useful to their partisan agenda as a means of smearing conservatives.

CPAC 2019: #FightOn Video

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland
Today, after the national anthem opened CPAC proceedings in the Potomac Ballroom, they played a five-minute video that captures what it is that conservatives are fighting for, and what we are fighting against. The video was so popular that CPAC officials received requests to make it publicly available on YouTube.
Very nice. #FightOn indeed.
CPAC: Another Day, Another Deadline
Posted on | February 28, 2019 | Comments Off on CPAC: Another Day, Another Deadline
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland
After I hit my deadline about midnight, I strolled down Fleet Street to The Public House, where I was hailed by a guy who was talking to a group of college Republicans attending their first CPAC. “This is Stacy McCain — he’s been at 14 consecutive CPACs,” said the guy, whose name I had forgotten, but who knew me from back in the Tea Party days. The college kids were part of a Leadership Institute (LI) group, and I made a joke about getting punched in the face — which is what happened to LI organizer Hayden Williams at Berkeley. The ongoing campus culture war is a topic that will be addressed here at CPAC by none other than Hayden Williams himself, and I was happy to talk to a few of these kids gathered outside The Public House, telling them stories like how I first met Andrew Breitbart at CPAC in 2007. But I digress . . .
Part of my predicament at CPAC is that I’m supposed to be doing actual journalism here, and this interferes with just having fun, which is what I’d rather be doing. Wednesday night, while everybody was out partying, I was holed up in my room trying to make sense of the notes I’d scrawled during the day and turn this into 800 words of Final Wisdom. You’d think, after all these years, it would get easier by constant practice, but it never really does. At 10 o’clock, I was around the 250-word and getting from there to 800 in two hours . . . Well, do the math. Yet I think I managed to produce something worth the effort:
Jacob Wohl is a 21-year-old Trump supporter from California who laughs at how much he’s hated by liberals: “Of course they hate me. I’m destroying everything they love.” Wohl is a political prodigy. Having started his first business while still in high school, he was investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission when he was only 18 years old, an investigation he believes was a “Deep State” reprisal for his outspoken support of Trump during the 2016 campaign.
When we met in the lobby bar of the Gaylord Hotel on the first day of the 46th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), I had no idea how notorious Wohl is. Just the previous day, he’d been banned from Twitter, where he had more than 180,000 followers, after bragging to USA Today about his plans to use fake accounts to play havoc in the 2020 presidential campaign. Basically, Wohl intends to use social media to influence Democrat primary voters into supporting fringe candidates with no chance of beating President Trump. Such mischief-making by private citizens is not illegal. Liberals have spent the past two years fuming over conspiracy theories about “Russian collusion” in the 2016 campaign, but there’s no law against Americans trying to influence election outcomes, or else everybody at CNN might be in federal prison. . . .
