Intolerance at Berkeley as Faculty Demand Gay Immigrant Stay Off Campus

Posted on | January 11, 2017 | 2 Comments

Because the gay immigrant in question is pro-Trump:

Twelve UC Berkeley professors sent a letter to Chancellor Nicholas Dirks requesting that campus administration cancel Berkeley College Republican’s event for Milo Yiannopoulos.
Calling his conduct “harassment, slander, defamation, and hate speech,” the letter cites examples of Yiannopoulos’s words and actions that the professors say violate UC Berkeley’s code of conduct as reasons to cancel Yiannopoulos’s talk Feb. 1. Since the letter was sent Jan. 3, nearly 90 additional professors have signed it, giving their support.
“We believe wholeheartedly in free speech and in the presentation of views that may be controversial or disturbing, politically or personally,” said David Landreth, one of the 12 professors who authored the letter, in an email. “However, Mr. Yiannopoulos’s public talks routinely veer into direct personal harassment of individuals; they often also call for such harassment and aim to incite it.”
The letter said women were referred to as “cunts” at Yiannopoulos’s talk at the University of West Virginia and transgender people were called “mentally ill” at his talk at the University of Delaware. As of July this year, Yiannopoulos was also banned from Twitter for encouraging his followers to attack an African American actress with hate speech, according to the letter.

Have any of these Berkeley professors said a word about their student Pablo Gomez Jr. being accused of murdering a woman last week? Of course, Gomez was a member of the Queer Alliance Resource Center at Berkeley, he harassed Republicans on the UC-Berkeley campus, and his “hate speech” on Twitter was directed toward white people, so I guess the faculty don’t care whether he stabbed a white woman to death.

Meanwhile, College Republicans at Berkeley are getting doxed, and I blame the climate of hate that the Cal faculty has incited on campus.

Berkeley Murder Suspect Pablo Gomez Harassed College Republicans Last Year

Posted on | January 10, 2017 | 2 Comments

Yesterday we reported about Pablo Gomez Jr., the radical activist at the University of California-Berkeley accused of murdering one woman and seriously stabbing another. The College Fix has video that shows Gomez harassing College Republicans at a campus event last September:

A Chicanx/Latinx Studies major, Gomez is involved with Berkeley’s Queer Alliance Resource Center and “is a senior climate action fellow at Alliance for Climate Education,” according to their respective Facebook pages.
Sharp-eyed College Fix readers may recognize the student as one of the activists who confronted the Berkeley College Republicans back in September. In the video, Gomez is shown grabbing their Donald Trump cut-out, telling them it’s “f*cked up.”
Berkeley CR President José Diaz had said at the time that the agitators demanded that the cut-out be removed “due to the perceived offensive nature that it represents towards them.”

Berkeley police have not discussed the motive for Gomez’s alleged murder of Emilie Inman and the stabbing of another women, who survived. However, it appears the murder victim did not know her killer:

“The suspect knew his initial victim (the woman who is still alive). After attacking her, he went to the house on Ashby thinking that an old friend/acquaintance still lived there. She had moved out over a year ago but the unfortunate second victim (who was killed) was there, studying. . . . She answered the door and the rest is history.”

Family and friends are mourning 27-year-old Emilie Inman:

On Monday, KRON4 spoke with friends of Emilie Inman, who describe her as an artist, musician, and teacher who impacted so many lives.
“It doesn’t really fully feel like she’s gone because her energy is in all of her friends and her family,” friend Robin Liepmin said. . . .
Liepmin found out about Inman’s murder on Facebook.
“Emilie was a really creative, beautiful individual, completely unique and just had so much light and so many gifts to bring to the world,” Liepmin said.
Inman worked at Sienna Ranch in Lafayette.
The organization describes itself as a family-owned business. Its focus is on youth families, environment, and community. . . .
Inman was a fifth and sixth-grade science instructor.
“She had a lot of aspirations, there was music, she loved kids, and she worked with kids specifically doing outdoor education, and she had a lot of faith in the youth, and just saw the youth as being one of the most important parts of making the world a better place,” Liepmin said.

The victim was a “beautiful individual” who “loved kids” and was all about “making the world a better place,” whereas Pablo Gomez Jr. is a queer activist who is all about hate. And stabbing women, allegedly.

Race Divides #WomensMarch as Black Feminists Tell White Women to Shut Up

Posted on | January 10, 2017 | 1 Comment

The Women’s March on Washington (@WomensMarch on Twitter) is scheduled for Jan. 21 — the day after President Trump’s inauguration — but the planning has been marred by internal strife:

Many thousands of women are expected to converge on the nation’s capital for the Women’s March on Washington the day after Donald J. Trump’s inauguration. Jennifer Willis no longer plans to be one of them.
Ms. Willis, a 50-year-old wedding minister from South Carolina, had looked forward to taking her daughters to the march. Then she read a post on the Facebook page for the march that made her feel unwelcome because she is white.
The post, written by a black activist from Brooklyn who is a march volunteer, advised “white allies” to listen more and talk less. It also chided those who, it said, were only now waking up to racism because of the election.
“You don’t just get to join because now you’re scared, too,” read the post. “I was born scared.”
Stung by the tone, Ms. Willis canceled her trip.
“This is a women’s march,” she said. “We’re supposed to be allies in equal pay, marriage, adoption. Why is it now about, ‘White women don’t understand black women’?”

Donald Douglas at American Power remarks: “Obviously, the event’s less about pushing women’s equality — and promoting respect — than it is about pushing the hard left-wing identity politics of the Democrat Party.”

Beyond that, to repeat what I keep saying, Feminism Is a Totalitarian Movement to Destroy Civilization as We Know It. Do we expect to find kind and honest people involved in totalitarianism? Of course not.

Bad causes attract bad people, and the problems afflicting the Women’s March are typical. Seth Mandel notes that organizers of the march include Linda Sarsour, director of the taxpayer-funded Arab American Association of New York. Sarsour is notorious for hateful rhetoric that is not just anti-Jewish, but also anti-American and anti-Christian. When criticized, Sarsour accuses her critics of being “Zionist trolls.”

We should expect only evil from a movement led by such people.

3 Theses: PUAs, ‘Sexuality’ and Feminism

Posted on | January 9, 2017 | 1 Comment

My work output has been irregular since Christmas, but I’ve got thousands of words in draft that I mean to finish. However, today I’m babysitting my youngest grandson, and there are a few thoughts that have been accumulating in my mind during my research recently, and so I want to just lay them out while the boy is taking a nap.

1. Confidence and Competence

One of the basic ideas of pickup artist (PUA) discourse is how the young man can convey confidence in his approach to women. While a man’s deportment — his mannerisms, his posture, his way of speaking — are certainly important in how he is perceived by women, his superficial display of confidence is not likely to matter much if this display has no underlying basis in fact. Confidence must be sustained by competence. That is to say, external manifestations of positive self-esteem are false advertising, if a man does not have the kind of skills and accomplishments necessary to elicit admiration. If the object of studying PUA method is for the young man to learn how better to display himself — basically, learning to perform the external mannerisms of a high-status male — this will be most effective if he actually possesses high-status traits and abilities. A man who is physically robust, who has a good job, etc., may yet lack confidence in his interactions with females, so that while he is winning in many aspects of his life, he is a loser with the ladies. In such a case, he may be able to learn elements of “game” from studying PUA methods which help him add confidence to his pre-existing competence. On the other hand, if a guy’s an all-around loser, no amount of “game” is likely to help him. This was Elliot Rodger’s problem in a nutshell. His personality deficits were so extreme that it was futile for him to turn to “game” in an effort to solve his problem. While I think feminists were wrong to blame the PUA community for Rodger’s murder spree, his case does help illustrate the absurdity of thinking you can solve every difficulty in your life by getting advice off Internet forums.

2. What Do We Mean by ‘Sexuality’?

Plowing through books of feminist theory — to say nothing of the online lunatic asylum of feminist Tumblr — one notices a tendency to speak of “sexuality” as if it were a tangible personal essence. We may observe in feminist discourse a habit of treating women’s sexual feelings as more important than their sexual behavior. By contrast, feminists tend to analyze male sexuality strictly in terms of behavior, which is always interpreted as having a harmful effect on women. Feminist discourse never portrays male sexual behavior in a positive way, and as for male feelings, feminists have no regard for men’s subjective perceptions and are profoundly hostile toward men’s emotional needs. Because this prejudice is inherent in all feminist discourse about “sexuality,” the result is that feminism turns all discussion of sexual behavior into a deliberately one-sided lecture, an endless litany of male wrongdoing, to which males cannot respond without being accused of an indifference to women’s feelings. If the feminist says she feels that her ex-boyfriend’s behavior was abusive, skepticism is impermissible, because how can we argue about her feelings? Likewise, if the feminist says she was “offended” by something — a TV show, a joke someone told at the office, whatever — no argument is possible, because she is the sole judge of what offends her. Because feminism treats normal male sexual behavior as inherently wrong and harmful to women, and because feminism makes women’s feelings the only standard by which male behavior can be judged, feminist rhetoric about “sexuality” is a form of anti-male hate propaganda.

3. Is ‘Feminist’ a Synonym for ‘Bitch’?

The vulgar epithet “bitch,” denoting a woman with a hostile or antisocial personality — angry, cruel, dishonest, etc. — is popularly conflated with the word “feminist.” This is quite often done by feminists themselves, who seem to take pride in being perceived as bitches.

Anti-male hostility, which is what this “proud bitch” rhetoric seems to signify, is thus further confirmed as a core feminist value. Insofar as feminism in the United States is politically identified with the Democrat Party, therefore, it is necessarily divisive. Meryl Streep’s angry feminist sermon during Sunday’s Golden Globes was celebrated by Democrats, who have interpreted Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the presidential campaign as evidence that “misogyny” is rampant among American men. Therefore, to rally their electoral base against Trump, the Democrats encourage the “proud feminist bitch” mode of discourse which, it might be argued, actually inspires misogyny. Feminists habitually treat men with hostile contempt, and Democrats celebrate such anti-male attitudes as “progressive.” Yet as more and more women embrace the “proud feminist bitch” pose, men will become less likely to support “progressive” causes, or to vote Democrat, because the messengers who deliver the Democrat Party message are so implacably hateful toward males.

This was one of the weird realities revealed by #GamerGate. In one of my first conversations with Adam Baldwin about #GamerGate, he explained to me that most of the young men (and women) supporting #GamerGate were not “conservative” in any conventional sense of that word. These weren’t guys watching Fox News or listening to Rush Limbaugh or reading National Review. Many of them were atheists and more or less progressive in their political orientation. However, they were fed up with the dishonest identity-politics shakedown racket which so-called “social justice warriors” (SJWs) were using against the videogame industry.

Well, my grandson will be waking up from his nap soon, so I don’t have time to connect all the dots, but if some of y’all want to post links to this article to your Reddit forums or wherever, I’d be grateful. Tonight’s the big game and we’ll be yelling “Roll Tide!” at the TV. Also, please remember the Five Most Important Words in the English Language:

HIT THE FREAKING TIP JAR!

The cable company (through which I get my Internet hookup) hit me for $200 over the weekend, and I’m past due $300 on the electric bill, and “patriarchy” is really just a synonym for paying the bills.

‘F–k Trump! F–k White People’ Suspects Denied Bail in Chicago Torture Case

Posted on | January 9, 2017 | Comments Off on ‘F–k Trump! F–k White People’ Suspects Denied Bail in Chicago Torture Case

Left to right: Brittany Covington, Tesfaye Cooper, Jordan Hill, Tanishia Covington.

Americans were shocked last week when video was livestreamed on Facebook of four black people torturing a young white man they are accused of kidnapping. A judge on Friday denied bail to the suspects:

A judge rebuked four black people accused of beating a mentally disabled white man and broadcasting the attack on Facebook, sternly asking, “Where was your sense of decency?” before denying their attorneys’ pleas to set bail so they might be released from jail.
“I find each of you a danger to yourself and society,” Cook County Circuit Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil said . . .
The beating was captured on cellphone video by one of the assailants and has since been viewed millions of times on social media. The footage shows the suspects taunting the victim with profanities against white people and President-elect Donald Trump.
Prosecutors offered new details of the assault, explaining that one of the suspects demanded $300 from the mother of the victim, who is schizophrenic and has attention-deficit disorder. They also said the beating started in a van when the same attacker became angry that the mother had contacted him asking that her son be allowed to come home.
A prosecutor told the judge that the suspects forced the victim to drink toilet water, kiss the floor and then allegedly stuffed a sock into his mouth and taped it shut as they bound his hands with a belt.
The four are charged with two counts of committing a hate crime — one because of the victim’s race and the other because of his mental disabilities.
On the video, the male suspects use knives to cut the victim’s hair and his sweatshirt. One of the females can be seen laughing. A female also laughs as she punches the victim. . . .
The four suspects were identified as Brittany Covington and Tesfaye Cooper, both of Chicago, and Jordan Hill, of suburban Carpentersville. All are 18. A fourth suspect was identified as Covington’s 24-year-old sister, Tanishia Covington, also of Chicago. . . .
All four have experienced brushes with the law, some for serious and violent crimes.
Hill, for example, was arrested as a juvenile in 2015 on allegations of armed robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and residential burglary. Chicago police said they did not know the disposition of those arrests by suburban officers.
Tanishia Covington was arrested in 2007 on attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery charges. Police records do not show any convictions as a juvenile. As an adult, she was arrested on charges of battery and aggravated assault, but those charges were dropped.

The victim’s aunt, Janet Grant, told the Daily Mail that her nephew knew Jordan Hill from school: “They went to school together, they both had problems. He adores Jordan. I don’t know Jordan but [the victim] really liked him. It’s one thing if they didn’t know each other but [the victim] idolized him. . . . His mom didn’t like him hanging out but [he] would say, ‘that’s my friend, that’s my friend.’ He looked up to Jordan.”

Berkeley Student Activist Pablo Gomez Charged With Homicide, Stabbing

Posted on | January 9, 2017 | 3 Comments

From Chuck Johnson’s GotNews.com:

Pablo Gomez, Jr., the first murder suspect of 2017 in the city of Berkeley, California, is a transsexual or “queer”, pro-Palestine, #BlackLivesMatter-supporting UC Berkeley student and “social justice warrior” (SJW), who is apparently studying “Chicanx/Latinx Studies.”

Local news site Berkeleyside edited its story after a friend of the suspect contacted the editors to say Gomez uses “they/them” pronouns.

Gomez had been an activist with Alliance for Climate Education, but the group locked access to their pages about his activism after he was charged with stabbing a woman and murdering an unidentified person:

A suspect in a Berkeley homicide on Friday is in custody, police said Saturday.
A watch commander with Berkeley police received a call at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday from Burbank police who said 24-year-old North Hollywood resident Pablo Gomez Jr. was in custody.
Gomez is the primary suspect in the homicide and also a stabbing on the same day, according to police.
At about 11:42 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call about a stabbing in the 2600 block of Ridge Road in Berkeley.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman seriously wounded, as well as the person who called police on her behalf, police said.
Officers provided medical attention until the Berkeley Fire Department arrived and transported her to a hospital, where she is receiving treatment and was listed in stable condition Friday night.
During the investigation, officers were led to an address in the 2400 block of Ashby Avenue.
According to police, evidence at the scene clearly indicated a violent crime had occurred there.
Much later, the body of an unidentified person was discovered, police said.
Police have not released the name of the homicide victim.

Gomez began blogging at the site Tumblr.com in 2011, but archives for his blog show he has been inactive on Tumblr since March. In 2016, Gomez’s activism seemed to shift toward supporting “Black Lives Matter.” In July, he posted a rant to Facebook about how “infuriating” it is that people were “not getting” what he called “a legacy of anti-Blackness” in America, the causes of which he listed as “colonialism,” “cisheteropatriarchy,” “capitalism” and “imperialism,” among others.

That message was posted the same day Gomez posted this:

I am currently sitting on the Oakland Freeway with thousands of folks who are committed to staying here until the Mayor and Police Commissioner join us. Our demands at this moment stand to disarm the police and work to abolish our current police structure. Our demands will not stop at abolishing the police. We will transform every structure that is posioned [sic] by a toxic whiteness that threatens Black lives every day. No one is free until we’re all free.

Police in Berkeley have said nothing about the motive for the violent crimes with which the “social justice” activist Pablo Gomez Jr. is charged.

UPDATE: Police have not yet officially identified the victim in Friday’s murder, but it is reported that the young woman whom Gomez is accused of killing was Emilie Inman, who taught science to children at Sienna Ranch, an educational site about 15 miles east of Berkeley.

Ms. Inman majored in environmental studies at the University of California-Santa Cruz and believed “inspiring a healthy and sustainable connection to self and the earth through education is her life path.”
