What Happened to Lucia Perez?

Posted on | October 20, 2016 | Comments Off on What Happened to Lucia Perez?

“She had been subjected to brutal, inhumane sexual abuse. The girl was impaled and this was the cause of her death.”
Maria Isabel Sanchez, prosecutor

This headline at Memeorandum caught my eye Wednesday:

Argentina: hundreds of thousands of women
set to protest against violence

A brief summary from New York magazine:

The so-called “women’s strike” — also known as Black Wednesday — is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of women in Argentina . . . “In your office, school, hospital, law court, newsroom, shop, factory, or wherever you are working, stop for an hour to demand ‘no more machista violence,’” the strike’s organizers wrote.
The strike was organized after Lucía Pérez was drugged, raped, and tortured earlier in October in Mar del Plata, Argentina. . . . Three people have already been arrested in the case, and Pérez’s family has been receiving death threats.
Crimes against women in Argentina have increased 78 percent since 2008, according to government statistics. The attack against Pérez was just one of the latest instances of “femicide” in the country.

From the progressive site Common Dreams:

Since 2008, according to NGOs, 1,808 women have been violently killed in the country. Indeed, an additional three Argentinian women were killed just last week.
Wednesday’s action . . . is in response to that violence and what one author described as “a boundless abandonment” of Argentinian women by the state.

The adjective machista is obviously derived from macho, and in this context could be considered synonymous with “sexist” or “misogynist.” You might conclude, from this rhetoric, that the increasing violence against women in Argentina is some sort of anti-feminist backlash, and that Lucia Perez’s death was typical of this social problem.

Well, facts matter.

We have seen how “Black Lives Matter” protesters here in America have reacted to incidents like the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, fomenting racial violence on the basis of distorted accounts, exploiting hatred and ignorance to promote a divisive political agenda. And so I am concerned by how this crime — the murder of a 16-year-old girl — apparently is being exploited by feminists in Argentina.

Facts matter, and the facts about the death of Lucia Perez may contain valuable lessons, but an indictment of machismo is not one of them.

The story of Lucia Perez is the tale of a teenage girl who wanted drugs, and met a drug dealer who was — surprise! — a dangerous monster. Piecing together the full story of Lucia Perez’s death required me to read multiple stories in the Argentine press, read with Google Translate, which made for some difficulties, but what happened is this:

Lucia wanted marijuana, and a friend from school — a girl a year older — introduced her to Gabriel Matias Farias, 23, alias “Scar.” Farias is a small package of pure evil — 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds, with a criminal record that includes robbery, illegal weapons and drug possession. Four years ago, Faria was accused of being involved in “the rape of a child under 9 years,” but for some reason was released by police. Faria’s Facebook page featured multiple photos of drugs and weapons, and a photo of a tattoo on his back of Santa Muerte (“Saint Death”), an occult symbol.

This was the dangerous criminal to whom Lucia Perez was introduced by her 17-year-old friend, a school classmate named Bethlehem whom some Argentine press accounts have called the entregadora (“delivery girl”) in Perez’s death. After meeting with Faria and getting one joint on Friday, Oct. 7, Perez then evidently arranged another meeting the next day. Her mother is a nurse, who was at work that Saturday, and her father, a mechanic, left for his job about 10 a.m. When Lucia’s mother came home about 3 p.m., she found Lucia gone, but her laptop computer was sitting open, as if the girl had intended to return shortly. What had happened, however, was that when Lucia went to meet Farias again, he had a friend with him — Juan Pablo Offidani, 43, known as “Chinchilla.”

Offidani is a cocaine addict who has been in and out of rehab over the years. His father Eduardo is an escribania (“scribe” or “clerk”), which is sort of like a notary public. Being a successful escribania, the elder Offidani had apparently been supporting his drug-addict son for many years, buying him a house where he lived with his Brazilian girlfriend. However, the Offidani family had recently stopped giving money to Juan Pablo, who was dealing drugs with Faria. On that Saturday, Oct. 8, when Lucia Perez went to meet Faria again, Offidani was with him.

The two drug dealers were driving a van, Lucia got in their vehicle to make the drug transaction, and was kidnapped. A few hours later, she was dropped off at a local health clinic, where at first it was believed she was suffering a drug overdose. Instead, it turned out Lucia had suffered fatal internal injuries as a result of a brutal gang rape during which prosecutors say she was “impaled” with an unknown foreign object.

What does this crime tell us about machismo? Nothing.

Instead, what this story suggests is that law enforcement agencies in Argentina need to get serious about the drug problem in their country. It suggests that parents of teenagers — not just in Argentina, but everywhere — need to warn their kids not to be deceived by the glamorous “Bad Boy” image that drug dealers cultivate.

Evil exists in the world, and so does death — “the Cult of Santa Muerte has found particular popularity among fringe groups: the LGBT community, sex workers, the drug cartels, even young millennials.” Was it just a coincidence that Lucia Perez’s killer celebrated this death cult?

We are living in an evil age, and no one is safe from this evil. Turning the death of Lucia Perez into a political cause — “Basta de violencia machista” — is not merely misleading, it is dishonest. Facts matter. Truth is powerful, and you cannot defeat evil until you start telling the truth.

Wisconsin’s ‘Sodomite Whorehouse’

Posted on | October 19, 2016 | Comments Off on Wisconsin’s ‘Sodomite Whorehouse’

The University of Wisconsin opened the football season with a victory over LSU, and the Badgers were 4-0 going into their Oct. 1 game against Michigan, which they lost 14-7, and last week Wisconsin got beat 30-23 by Ohio State. Why are the Badgers losing? Because they don’t love Jesus!

“[Westboro Baptist Church] will protest the sodomite whorehouse masquerading as the University of Wisconsin-Madison in religious protest and warning. Ranked the top LGBT friendly and the top party school in the nation, UW-Madison spends more time indoctrinating the drunken students to worship the fag agenda [than] to learn anything meaningful.”

Badger Herald columnist Yusra Murad urges her fellow students to treat the WBC protests with “apathy,” and UW Professor Ann Althouse doesn’t seem to take this prophetic message seriously, either, but the question must be asked: Why have the Badgers lost two games in row?

Isn’t it possible that the UW football team has succumbed to the degenerate anti-Christian influence of “the fag agenda” in Madison?

Certificate in LGBT Studies
The LGBT Studies Certificate Program, housed administratively in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies, is a campus-wide program open to students in any major. Courses that count toward this interdisciplinary certificate come from a wide range of fields including literature, history, sociology, medical history, as well as from gender and women’s studies, which is in itself an interdisciplinary field.
The certificate program requires 15 credits in LGBT Studies.

Among the courses taught this fall in Wisconsin’s LGBT Studies Certificate Program is “Introduction to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer + Studies” (WS 200), where the required textbook is LGBTQ People & Issues, a 218-page anthology edited by University of Wisconsin Professor Cabell Hankinson Gathman, who “lives in Madison with her husband, two small children, and four cats.”

Far be it from me to say that the University of Wisconsin should not hire pink-haired bisexuals to teach its LGBTQ Studies courses, but the question is, how does this affect the Badgers football team?

You may scoff at Westboro Baptist Church, but given the evidence that Wisconsin is quite literally “indoctrinating” students with what WBC calls “the fag agenda,” isn’t it possible that the Badgers are suffering divine punishment for their university’s sins? Quarterback Alex Hornibrook completed only 9-of-25 passes and threw three interceptions against Michigan, and the Badgers offensive line failed to protect Hornibrook last Saturday when he was sacked on the final play of an overtime lost to Ohio State, after Wisconsin blew a 10-point halftime lead.

Clearly, Wisconsin is a football team that doesn’t love Jesus.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men . . .”
Romans 1:18 (KJV)

Some would say it’s wrong to interpret something as mundane as a football game as evidence of God’s wrath against Wisconsin, but isn’t it possible that maybe the Westboro Baptist Church protest in Madison is a divine message calling the sinners to repentance? After all, the Badgers will be on the road Saturday against Iowa, and if Wisconsin wants to recapture the Heartland Trophy from the Hawkeyes, isn’t it about time they got right with the Lord? Isn’t sinful lust prevalent in Madison?

University of Wisconsin under federal
investigation for handling of sexual assault cases

With three open federal investigations into possible violations in handling sexual assault cases, the University of Wisconsin has the fourth highest number of probes in the nation, according to Department of Education numbers. . . .
UW is in the midst of what Erin Thornley-Parisi, spokesperson for Dane County Rape Crisis Center, called a sexual violence “epidemic.”
“We have made some advances, [but] I don’t think we’re even close to where we need to be,” Thornley-Parisi said.
Reports of sexual assault at UW are on the rise, according to data from the Dean of Students Office and as first reported by the Capital Times. From 2011 to 2013, there were more than 120 reports of sexual assault each year. In 2014, that number rose to 172. As of Dec. 4, 2015, there were 203 reports of sexual assault on campus.

UW-Madison student arrested on tentative
charges of sexual assault, according to police

A 20-year-old UW-Madison student was arrested Monday in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Downtown last week, according to Madison police.
Police arrested Alec R. Cook on Monday in the sexual assault that took place on Oct. 12 at 11:30 p.m. in Cook’s apartment on the 500 block of North Henry Street. . . .
Cook was arrested on two tentative charges of second-degree sexual assault, as well as strangulation, battery and false imprisonment.

“The young men have turned into drunkards or sodomites likewise the young women have turned into drunkards or whores. UW-Madison is proud of their national distinction in lust and hedonism.”
Westboro Baptist Church

Do you think maybe a “religious protest and warning” is way overdue for Wisconsin students? But probably the heathens in Madison won’t heed this call to repentance, and I’d bet Iowa wins by 7 Saturday.

Thug Squad: O’Keefe Video Exposes Democrats Using Chicago Tactics

Posted on | October 19, 2016 | 1 Comment

Robert Creamer, a Democrat operative and husband of Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky, has visited the White House more than 300 times since President Obama took office. Creamer announced Tuesday his is “stepping back from my responsibilities working with the [Hillary Clinton] campaign” after he was caught on video discussing how Democrats “hired people to attend Donald Trump’s campaign rallies and incite violence.”

Video by James O’Keefe produced further revelations:

An activist who bragged about disrupting multiple Donald Trump campaign events in a recent Project Veritas video was on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign payroll, a search of Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reveals.
In a Veritas video released Monday, filmmaker and provocateur James O’Keefe recounts meeting activist Zulema Rodriguez at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. In the video, Rodriguez takes credit for violent protests in Chicago that forced Trump to cancel a March rally. . . .
Rodriguez also takes credit for an Arizona protest, also in March, that shut down a major highway outside a Trump event.
Notably, a search of FEC records reveals that Rodriguez was paid by the Clinton campaign shortly before she disrupted the Chicago rally. The campaign paid her $1,610.34 as a “payroll” expense, and also gave her a $30 payment that is described only as “phone.”

Polls Show Trump Support Collapse as Campaign Heads to Final Debate

Posted on | October 19, 2016 | 1 Comment

A month ago, support for Donald Trump was within a one-point margin of Hillary Clinton in the Real Clear Politics average of national polls, but since early October, the advantage in the presidential campaign has clearly shifted toward the Democrat. Trump’s support peaked at 45% in the RCP average on Oct. 2, and has since sagged to 41.7% in the head-to-head match-up, while Clinton’s support has increased over the past month from 44.9% to 49.2%. In a four-way race, with Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein on the ballot, Clinton enjoys a 7.3-point lead (46.3%-39%) in the RCP average. Examining the Electoral College map, RCP’s average of state polls show that Clinton at this point would win 333-205, carrying every “swing” state except Ohio.

With the final debate scheduled tonight, headlines suggest Clinton’s current momentum could enable her to further increase her lead:

Clinton Has 9-Point Lead as
Comeback Obstacles Loom for Trump

Bloomberg

Fox News Poll: Clinton tops Trump by 6 points
Fox News

Poll: Clinton up 4 points
over Trump in Arizona

Arizona Republic

With less than three weeks until Election Day on Nov. 8, can anything turn this campaign around? Or is as I said on Oct. 8, is it already over?

Of ‘Myths’ and Common Sense

Posted on | October 18, 2016 | 1 Comment

One of the basic propaganda tactics of the Left is to identify a cherished traditional belief as “myth,” and use this as a means of suggesting that opponents of leftist ideology are ignorant and prejudiced. We see this, for example, when the Left attacks any patriotic interpretation of American history as based in “myth.” It is a myth, left-wing intellectuals tell us, that the Pilgrims came to America seeking religious freedom, just like it is a myth that industrial capitalism is beneficial to society, and also a myth that radical Islam is a threat to world peace. All of this is about convincing us to trust intellectuals and distrust our own common sense.

The traditional values we learned from our parents and our churches are false consciousness, the Left wants us to believe, and anyone who argues in defense of those values is a hateful bigot in thrall to discredited myths. Feminists often use this tactic, but they certainly have no monopoly on it. Pedophiles also frequently use the same type of argument, and the editor of “Pedophiles About Pedophilia” (!!!) has a nasty habit of dismissing all of his critics as stupid, ignorant, prejudiced, etc. So when “Ender Wiggin” (as he calls himself) invoked the expert authority of “the scientists who actually study sexuality” against one of his critics, the need to defend common sense was apparent:

Because you are personally obsessed with this particular subject, you have accumulated a pile of references to “expert” sources that you can cite in support of your peculiar claims, so as to justify yourself in dismissing all critics as “narrow-minded idiots.” This is a crude tactic of propaganda, which can be (and is) used by advocates of every bogus belief system you could name — Islamic jihadists, Holocaust deniers, “climate change” doomsayers, etc. Bad causes supported by bad people generally produce bad arguments like yours, and your errors of logic and rhetoric are symptomatic of your problem. . . .
Not only are you sexually obsessed with children, but you are obsessed with convincing others that your perverse appetites are harmless, and you don’t want anyone connecting the dots between (a) your weird arguments, and (b) you, the actual human being who is making these weird arguments. You wish to avoid personal responsibility, and this itself is likewise symptomatic.
Pedophiles love to play the victim; they are prone to rationalizing their deviant preferences; and they viciously lash out at anyone who tries to hold them accountable for their wrongdoing. A psychologist coined the term “DARVO” (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) to describe this pattern of behavior, which is quite typical among sex offenders. We do not need any “experts,” however, but only common sense, to realize that the sex offender operates on a basis of secrecy and deception. . . .

Read the whole thing at Medium.com. Trust your common sense, and beware of anyone who calls your common sense belief a “myth.”
