As a running back for Vanderbilt University, Zac Stacy ran for more than 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. In 2013, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams, and ran for nearly 1,000 yards his rookie season, but his NFL career only lasted three seasons. He was traded to the New York Jets and retired from the league in 2017 after suffering a devastating ankle injury. He later attempted a comeback in Canada, and then in 2019 played briefly in the short-lived Alliance of American Football.
Zac Stacy achieved a new level of fame — or rather, infamy — this week when his ex-girlfriend Kristen Evans released home surveillance video of him savagely beating her in front of their infant son:
“This was just the last straw I would say. I really truly feel that if it continues that he would kill me,” said Evans.
Evans released the horrifying attack caught on her home surveillance footage on social media. The video allegedly shows Stacy hitting her twice, making her fall to the couch. He then grabs her and throws her across the room into a television, which falls on top of her.
Evans could be heard pleading for him to stop multiple times.
Stacy’s arrest warrant then said he walked back to the couch, grabbed an object, stood over the top of Evans, and threw it at her. He picked her up off the floor and threw her into a baby walker. . . .
Evans met Stacy in January of 2019 while she was working as a Wellness Coordinator for the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football –a team Stacy played for. They began a romantic relationship in August of that year. She said it was very on and off after she had a miscarriage. She added that Stacy became more physically abusive to her after the birth of their son.
“He feels justified in his actions. There’s nothing that anyone could do to justify something like that,” said Evans.
She told FOX 35 that she has filed reports against Stacy in the past. She said she felt she had to go public with this one so that her case wouldn’t get overlooked again.
“The state would’ve gotten to it whenever they got to it and maybe I wouldn’t sleep for a month or two or he could get away with a completely,” said Evans.
Hours before actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer on the New Mexico set of “Rust” with a prop gun, a half-dozen camera crew workers walked off the set to protest working conditions.
The camera operators and their assistants were frustrated by the conditions surrounding the low-budget film, including complaints of long hours and getting their paychecks, according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment.
The camera crew showed up for work as expected at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and began gathering up their gear and personal belongings to leave, one knowledgeable crew member told the Los Angeles Times.
Labor trouble had been brewing for days on the dusty set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe.
Shooting began on Oct. 6 and members of the production said they had been promised the production would pay for their hotel rooms in Santa Fe.
But after filming began, the crews were told they instead would be required to make the 50-mile drive from Albuquerque each day, rather than stay overnight in nearby Santa Fe.
The cinematographer who was accidentally killed, Halyna Hutchins, had been advocating for safer conditions for her team, said one crew member who was on the set.
As the camera crew — members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees — spent about an hour assembling their gear at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, several nonunion crew members showed up to replace them, the knowledgeable person said.
A member of the producer staff then ordered the union members to leave the set. She said if they didn’t leave, the producers would call security to remove them.
“Corners were being cut — and they brought in nonunion people so they could continue shooting,” the knowledgeable person said.
There were two misfires on the prop gun on Saturday and one the previous week, the person said, adding “there was a serious lack of safety meetings on this set.”
Baldwin was Executive Producer on this “low budget” film, so that he bears responsibility for conditions on the set. They were cutting corners to save money, so they brought in scabs to replace the union members on the crew, and this accidental shooting was the direct result.

A tragedy occurred on the set of the latest Alec Baldwin movie where the actor reportedly accidentally shot and killed a female cinematographer and injured the director due to a prop gun misfire.
“Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on a set in New Mexico on Thursday, accidentally killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza,” reportedVariety.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on the Bonanza Creek Ranch set in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Alec Baldwin was shooting his upcoming Western, Rust. Hutchins, who originally remained unidentified, died after being transported via helicopter to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
Director Joel Souza remains in emergency care after being transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent’s hospital.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Thursday that both Hutchins and Souza “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor.” Sources told Deadline, which initially reported that the incident occurred when Baldwin reportedly “cocked a gun during a rehearsal, unaware that there were live rounds in it, hitting two people, a man and a woman.” Representatives for Baldwin, a rabid anti-gun demagogue, did not immediately respond to media requests for comment.

A spokesman for the movie’s production company has insisted that only blanks were used, but the sheriff’s department is yet to confirm that. It’s unclear if this was the first and only shot Baldwin fired, or if others had been fired safely.
Immediately after firing the fatal shot, Baldwin asked why he’d been handed a ‘hot’ gun, according to Hollywood gossip site Showbiz 411. . . .
Mike Tristano, 60, a Hollywood armorer with 30 years’ experience . . . said ultimate responsibility for gun safety on movie set rests with the armorer. . . .
‘There should have been blanks in the gun, the on-set armorer’s job is to check that before handing the weapon over,’ Tristan said.
‘They then make sure that the actor stands on a mark and never points the gun at the crew or cast… the editing makes it seem like they were pointing at their co-actor.
‘That’s why everyone in the industry is very confused. How this happened is a total mystery at the moment.’
Total mystery, as well as a tragedy, but the fact that Alec Baldwin, an outspoken opponent of Second Amendment rights, shot and killed a woman is also deeply ironic. Make of that what you will.
The off-duty NYPD officer who allegedly shot her ex-girlfriend and killed the woman’s new lover may have snapped because she was clinging to hope that they’d get back together, a high-ranking police source told The Post Thursday. Officer Yvonne Wu, 31, had recently split with her ex, Jenny Li, 23, but was still spending the night on occasion at Li’s home in Brooklyn — and may have lost it when she saw her there with another woman, the source said.
“She was still staying there on and off. She was still staying there some nights. It’s not that strange, maybe she thought it could still work out,” the source said.
Wu, who works at the 72nd Precinct and lives on Staten Island, allegedly opened fire on Li and her 24-year-old new lover, Jamie Liang, at the home on 19th Avenue near 79th Street in Bensonhurst Wednesday night, according to police.
“When the cops get there, she says, ‘I shot them both. The gun’s inside,’ calm as can be,” the source said.
Liang was found with a bullet wound to the chest and was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where she died. Li was in serious but stable condition on Thursday, police said.
Notice something about this story? Neither the word “lesbian” nor the word “gay” appears anywhere in it. This is standard practice when referring to homosexuals who commit crimes, whereas if a homosexual is the victim of a crime (e.g., Matthew Shepard), “gay” is in the headline. In this case, where one homosexual (allegedly) shoots two other homosexuals, they went with the former rule, I guess.
As if the headline “Killer Cop in Lesbian Love Triangle” wouldn’t sell more newspapers? See, that’s my real beef with this kind of political correctness — insofar as journalism is a business, the profit motive would suggest the word “lesbian” in the headline of a story like this, much the same way that the word “rape” should always be in the headline of a story about rape. A legalistic term like “sexual assault” doesn’t sell papers the way “rape” sells papers. One reason the news business is in such dire condition is that political correctness is the enemy of the kind of lurid scandal-sheet mentality portrayed in L.A. Confidential.
What America needs is journalists who think more like old-school reporters — wearing fedoras and wide lapels, smoking Chesterfields and driving a 1949 Packard — and less like college professors.
If you ever get a chance to use “Lesbian Love Triangle” in a headline, why would you pass up such an opportunity? Like you’re afraid of being sued or something? Let’s stipulate the possibility that one or more of the women involved here — including the deceased Jamie Liang — may have been bisexual, but the nature of this particular love triangle would justify the word “lesbian” as an adjective, if not as a noun.
Or that would be my defense, anyway, if it turned into a libel suit.
Speaking of libel suits, Ace thinks Joe Rogan may have a case against CNN for smearing him by claiming he took “horse dewormer” as treatment for COVID-19. And whether or not that were defamation, per se, I certainly hope Rogan will sue CNN over this, because discovery is a bitch. If Rogan can get clear the “motion-to-dismiss” hurdle, he might obtain some internal CNN memos about how they’ve been covering COVID-19. Anything bad that happens to CNN is good for journalism.
Anyway, the alleged lesbian cop — notice how I used the word “alleged” there? — has worse problems than being called names by a blogger. New York City has gone kind of soft on crime with De Blasio as mayor, but I’m pretty sure that murder is still a felony there. Maybe she’ll plead insanity, and her defense team can call me as an expert witness.
ATTORNEY: “Would you say my client is crazy?” McCAIN: “Definitely. She’s deranged, demented, berserk, bonkers, daft, wacky, zany, nutty as squirrel farts, a few fries short of a Happy Meal, and cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.” ATTORNEY: “And how does that apply to her shooting rampage?” McCAIN: “Like I always say, Crazy People Are Dangerous.”
In the comments on Friday morning’s post (“The Dangerous Clichés of ‘Empowerment’”), someone mentioned the phrase “rationalization hamster” as a description of the way women justify bad decisions such as getting a tattoo on your cleavage or dating a convicted felon.
These two examples of bad decisions are not chosen entirely at random, but we’ll get to that part in a few minutes. First, I want to digress to explain my habitual tendency to follow research down weird paths, bringing me to surprising destinations. When I started Googling the phrase “rationalization hamster,” one of the links was to male feminist David Futrelle’s site. So I then spent some time Googling about Futrelle, who once up a time was actually a journalist, a staff writer for Money magazine, but then became obsessed with the “manosphere” and now spends all his time writing about anonymous incels on Reddit. This in turn led me to Futrelle’s review of a book by Laura Bates called The Men Who Hate Women. So then I found an interview with Laura Bates, in which she was asked, “Why as an issue is misogynistic extremism still not being taken seriously?”
I think that there’s a number of reasons. The first is that it’s a relatively emerging threat in terms of mass killings, so people are failing to join the dots and make the connections between them. But I think a big part of it is that misogyny is so normalised in our society that we really struggle to recognise this as something extreme. We are so used to women being murdered by men. One woman is killed on average every three days by a male current or former partner in the UK — that is literally the backdrop to our daily life. So I think we struggle to see these as atrocities and it is a huge blind spot. It’s also because of who often commits these offences — educated white men and so the criminal justice system finds excuses for them. Look at the recent Georgia shooter for example. The police officer giving a press conference explained, ‘He was having a bad day’, after he had massacred eight people including six asian women. The way in which we collectively excuse, condone, normalise and ignore these white men when they commit mass shootings and terror atrocities really hampers us as a society in tackling the problem.
Some of these assertions bothered me. Are we really “so used to women being murdered by men” that we have a “blind spot” toward such crimes? And what about this “every three days” statistic about women in the UK being killed by male partners? The population of the United Kingdom is about 67 million, so if there are about 34 million women in the UK, and if there are about 120 women killed by male partners annually, how many zeroes after the decimal point are needed to express that as a statistical probability of risk? Do the math, see, and you realize that men murdering women isn’t a crime so common as to be “normalized,” rather that such murders are relatively rare. Contrary to Ms. Bates’s claim, we are not “so used to women being murdered by men.” Even in places where murder is astonishingly common (e.g., Chicago), we find that males are disproportionately the victims. Of the 2,660 people shot in Chicago so far this year, 2,158 (81%) were male. Of the 459 who died from gunshot wounds in Chicago, 398 (85%) were male, so that the male-female ratio of victims is nearly 6-to-1. And 83% of the victims were black.
This is another problem with Laura Bates’s claims. Is it really true that these crimes are “often” committed by “educated white men”? I’m pretty sure university graduates aren’t doing most of the drive-by shootings in Chicago, and I don’t believe “educated white men” are disproportionately overrepresented in domestic-violence incidents. Perhaps some sociology student can dig up the actual data on this, but what Laura Bates is doing (and what David Futrelle praises her for doing) is a familiar trick of propaganda: Find a scary-sounding statistic — every three days a woman in the UK is killed by her male partner — and then assert that this represents a social problem (misogyny) which is illustrated by atypical examples, e.g., “incel” Elliot Rodger on a shooting rampage. This tendentious method is then used to argue that we must suppress “hate speech,” because misogyny is causing the mass murder of women.
It should not be necessary to explain why this argument is invalid, but because logic is no longer taught in our schools, I’ll do it anyway. Most obvious is the fact that among the thousands of guys spewing “misogyny” on the Internet — the Reddit creeps with whom David Futrelle is obsessed — certainly more than 90% of them will never commit an act of criminal violence against a woman. Most people who spout offensive nonsense on the Internet are not violent criminals, and the obverse is also true: Most violent criminals don’t spout offensive nonsense on the Internet. That is to say, of the total number of men who commit violence against women in any given year, only the tiniest fraction of a single percentage point of them have ever visited any of the “manosphere” forums that David Futrelle writes about. If you could illustrate this with a Venn diagram, set A representing “Guys Who Hang Out on Manosphere Sites” and set B representing “Men Who Perpetrate Violence Against Women,” the set AB would be so small as to be statistically insignificant.
In a nation of 325 million people, however, statistically rare incidents may happen on a monthly basis. I have previously illustrated this by compiling “The Year in Dog Sex” — at least 11 people were prosecuted for having sex with dogs in 2016. And this explains how easy it is to exaggerate the danger of “incel” murders. No matter how statistically rare these incidents may be, there are certain to be at least a handful of cases that fit within that definition every year, and if these cases get enough publicity from the national media, it can be made to seem as if “incels” represent a dangerous terrorist threat, but the media could do the same thing with bestiality, if it suited their purposes.
So, having made that 1,000-word digression, we now return to the main topic, Joana Peca of St. Petersburg, Florida.
The tattoo on her (remarkably abundant) cleavage could be cited as evidence of Joana Peca’s defective judgment. The “rationalization hamster” must have run itself silly attempting to justify such a choice. And I’m sure that David Futrelle and Laura Bates would accuse me of misogyny merely for calling attention to this, because any criticism of any woman for any reason is always misogyny, according to feminist logic. “Equality” seems to require that women go through life without ever encountering negative feedback, no matter how foolish or harmful their actions may be, so the effect of feminism in public discourse is to make women off-limits to criticism (unless they vote Republican).
The problem with this, you see, is that without feedback — including the kind of feedback that might persuade a woman not to get tattoos on her breasts — all sorts of foolish behavior are likely to proliferate because, without critical feedback, bad judgment tends to become generalized.
Williams has a Pinellas County arrest record that spans about 20 years. He has been arrested in cases ranging from grand theft auto, possession of drugs with intent to sell, robbery and fleeing police. He was most recently arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm in January 2020. The state attorney’s office did not seek a prosecution.
In 2007, Williams was arrested on charges of principle to attempted murder and strong-arm robbery, but those charges were dismissed, court records show.
Now, if you had a daughter, wouldn’t you advise her to avoid associating with anyone who had such an extensive criminal record? Yes, but then again, if she’s got already tattoos on her cleavage . . .
Detectives have identified Benjamin Robert Williams aka “Bambi” (DOB 12/31/1982) as the suspect in Saturday’s (July 31, 2021) shooting death of Joana Peca.
Williams and Peca were involved in a romantic relationship and had a baby together. Peca was holding the infant when Williams shot her multiple times in the face. Her older child was sitting in the backseat during the shooting.
A warrant has been issued for William’s arrest and SPPD is actively searching for him. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5000 for information that leads to an arrest. Benjamin Williams is deemed to be armed and dangerous.
He is linked to several open homicide investigations.
Peca was found dead in the car, and the children did not suffer any physical injuries, which took place just outside Woodlawn Cemetery.
At the time of the shooting, Peca’s [infant] who she shared with Williams was sitting on her lap while her older child, a 4 year old from another relationship, was in the back seat. The woman was shot multiple times in the face before Williams fled the scene police said in a Facebook release.
‘The children were unharmed but terrified at what had just happened,’ said Sandra Bentil, a spokeswoman for the St. Petersburg Police Department, according to WTVT. . . .
St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway told ABC Action News that Williams lured Peca to the cemetery.
‘He called her and asked her to meet him at that location cause she was bringing the children to him to see,’ Holloway said. ‘Once they got to that location that’s when he decided to gun her down.’
“Meet me at the cemetery,” says the career criminal, and what kind of fool would accept this invitation? Alas, a dead fool, one whose “rationalization hamster” was running an endless marathon.
The fugitive killer Benjamin Robert “Bambi” Williams wasn’t spewing misogynistic nonsense on the “manosphere” sites that David Futrelle writes about. He wasn’t an “incel” or one of those “educated white males” that Laura Bates warns about. No, he was merely a regular criminal, “linked to several open homicide investigations,” and maybe he should have been locked up in prison a long time ago, but this is just more violence against women feminists won’t notice, for some reason.
Earlier this month, police found the body of 47-year-old Rebecca Landrith near an exit ramp off I-80 in rural central Pennsylvania. According to her online biography, Landrith was a former fashion model, but it appears her life had gone downhill in recent years. Perhaps the most significant passage in news coverage of her death was this:
[On Feb. 9] Milford Police in Connecticut shared that Landrith’s 2007 Honda Civic, which had South Dakota plates, was towed from a CITGO gas station there four days prior. The gas station owner reported it as having been abandoned several days, arrest papers state.
Investigators followed up with employees of a Pilot Travel Center next to the CITGO who recognized Landrith and said she frequented the truck stop often with truck drivers, according to arrest papers.
Ugh. What a horrible fate for any woman, to become a truck-stop whore and then to get murdered by one of her tricks:
The over-the-road truck driver accused of killing a woman at an Interstate 80 ramp earlier this month is in the Union County Prison without bail. Tracy Ray Rollins Jr., 28, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of homicide and abuse of corpse following his return from Connecticut where he had been arrested Feb. 10.
Rollins said nothing as he was escorted from a state police plane at the Williamsport Regional Airport to a cruiser for the trip to the Milton state police barracks where he was arraigned by video.
Rollins, who is from Dallas, was advised by District Judge Jeffrey Mensch the maximum penalty for homicide is death.
However, District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said later it is not a death penalty case at this time but declined to elaborate.
Mensch’s stated reasons for denying bail were the homicide charge and Rollins’ lack of ties to the community. The preliminary hearing is scheduled on March 5.
Rollins is charged with killing Rebecca Landrith, 47, a model who lived in New York City.
Her body was found just before 7 a.m. Feb. 7 by a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation worker along the I-80 eastbound exit ramp at the Mile Run interchange near Loganton. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her face, neck and chest area plus two on a hand that state police called defensive. Eighteen bullets were removed from Landrith’s body during an autopsy, the arrest affidavit states. . . .
Landrith did not have any identification on her but investigators found in a jacket pocket a note containing Rollins name, cell phone number and email address along with receipts from businesses.
“A lot of incredible work” went into this case, [Pennsylvania State Police Capt. Sherman] Shadle said, citing all the state police divisions that were involved.
The victim’s brother, George Landrith, also has given investigators high marks not only for arresting a suspect but in the way they have treated the grieving family.
Rollins told investigators, according to the arrest affidavit, he had met a woman named Leslie at a truck stop near Milford, Conn., and she had been traveling with him.
Information was obtained from Milford police that Landrith had made hotel reservations in December under the name Leslie Myers, the document states.
According to Rollins, “Leslie” accompanied him to Maine, back to Connecticut, then to Brooklyn, New York and Wisconsin, where he picked up a load to be delivered in Maine.
Using the receipts found in the woman’s pockets and Rollins’ cell phone records, police said they traced his travel from Wisconsin to Maine with a stop at the Mile Run interchange from 12:11 until 12:26 a.m. on Feb. 7.
Because of the discovery of brain and flesh-like material, bullet holes and casings, it appears the shooting occurred in the cab of Rollins’ truck, police said.
No motive for the killing has been disclosed.
Eighteen bullets? Why shoot somebody 18 times?
This is just one of the mysteries surrounding Landrith’s death, but the largest mystery is how someone who was working as a New York fashion model just a few years ago could have ended up as the sort of woman who “frequented the truck stop often,” in a reporter’s euphemistic phrase.
“Lot lizards,” truckers call them, for the way they prowl around the truck-stop lots where truckers park to sleep overnight. If “lot lizards” are not the sleaziest whores on the planet, certainly they’re near the bottom of the prostitution hierarchy, and it’s difficult to fathom how a willowy blonde former New York fashion model could fall so low.
Landrith’s brother, George Landrith, told PennLive she had separated from the rest of the family five years earlier.
“For that reason, he said he knows little about her life since then,” PennLive reported.
Landrith was the youngest of five children. She had never married. Her parents were divorced, and their father lived in Utah.
What accounts for Rebecca Landrith’s estrangement from her family? We don’t know, but it seems a logical inference that her lifestyle choices might be connected to why she hadn’t communicated with her relatives for the past five years. Yet even if she was alienated from her family, how does it make sense that she became a “lot lizard”?
Was she on drugs? Opioids, methamphetamine, crack cocaine?
Here’s a wild guess: In addition to being a fashion model, one might suspect that Rebecca Landrith also once worked as a stripper.
As I say, that’s only a wild guess, but it might explain her otherwise inexplicable downfall into the status of truck-stop whore.
An attractive woman can make big bucks working strip clubs, but that business disappeared when COVID-19 shut down most bars last year. So a stripper who might have been making two or three thousand dollars a week could have found herself suddenly short of cash. Again, I must emphasize that this is only a wild guess, but it’s very difficult to come up with any other guess that would explain what happened here.
In reporting on Landrith’s death, the trucker site CDL Life notes that some have made inferences about the dead woman’s fate:
Although there have been several social media posts inferring that Landrith was to blame for her own situation because she had been willingly “running around with truckers,” officers say that position has no influence on the investigation, noting that Landrith is a victim of homicide and should be treated as such.
Well, most feminists are pro-“sex worker,” and feminists also routinely denounce “violence against women,” but I don’t expect them to pay attention to the murder of Rebecca Landrith, for some reason.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglasville man who authorities say murdered his mother and niece is in the Douglas County Jail as of Thursday afternoon. Derrick Lashun Hobbs, 37, was arrested Sunday night after the bodies of Lawanda Barrows, 59, and Layla Hobbs, 4, were found in a burning vehicle behind a residence on Colquitt Street. Hobbs was charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with their deaths. He was denied bond.
The Douglas County Sentinel reported Hobbs is the only suspect in the case. No motive or other details were provided by police.
The Douglasville Police and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the deaths.
Curiously, no media outlet reporting this story included a mugshot of the suspect. The only way I found a photo of Hobbs was from a Google search that turned up notice of his status as a sex offender, having been convicted of felony statutory rape in 2003. So he raped a minor when he was 20, and then murdered his own mother and niece last weekend — allegedly, I hasten to add. I wouldn’t want to libel someone who was probably an honor student, and might yet become a civil rights hero, if he somehow manages to get himself shot to death by a white cop.
The frequent offender has now been arrested 103 times since 2005 for petty crimes and sex offenses, sources said.
The creep was convicted of sexual misconduct in 2012, then arrested for two sex offenses in 2014, police sources said.
In May of that year, he was busted for exposing and fondling himself on an East Harlem street, the sources said.
Just months later, in July, he was arrested for grabbing a woman’s behind at a Third Avenue deli.
In 2017, he failed to notify authorities that he changed his address and had to register as a sex offender, state records show. . . .
He was arrested Feb. 17 for a misdemeanor assault and harassment charge for an incident that happened in The Bronx a week earlier, according to records. He was released without bail in the case.
He was busted in the borough again March 5 and slapped with trespassing summons, according to court records.
And most recently, he was arrested March 9 in Manhattan and hit with criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault and attempted assault charges.
You might expect that such a vicious criminal would be permanently locked up in prison, but remember this is New York, where they don’t lock up criminals, because criminals elect Democrats. Last week, Rashid Brimmage punched a 92-year-old woman in the head:
The 92-year-old woman who was shoved into a fire hydrant in a random attack on a Manhattan street last week told The Post Tuesday that the ambush has taken a psychological toll on her — and she now fears walking alone in her neighborhood.
“Mostly I’m shaken. My head still hurts where it was bleeding, where I hit the hydrant — or where he hit me, I don’t know,” elderly victim Geraldine said in an exclusive phone interview, asking that her last name be withheld for safety reasons.
“Mainly it’s psychological — just the fear of going out on the street,” she added.
Geraldine, a Bronx native who has lived in Manhattan for more than 50 years, said she was on her way to Duane Reade when 31-year-old Rashid Brimmage allegedly shoved her to the ground near Third Avenue and East 16th Street Gramercy Park last Friday afternoon.
Geraldine hit her head on a fire hydrant and started bleeding, she said. A passerby saw the assault, called 911 and an ambulance rushed her to nearby Beth Israel Hospital, she said.
The former teacher said her physical wounds were relatively minor and have since healed — but the mental toll has been much more severe.
“This damned guy put me in a state where I’m fearful to walk the streets alone. So my super’s trying to find somebody who will walk me to a park nearby or to the supermarket, that kind of thing. So that’s the problem,” she said.
Cops busted Brimmage for the caper Tuesday after investigators released footage of the attack.
