Here is Anna North in Jezebel.com with another pothole in the road to societal destruction: “Why Women In Computer Science Matter”. Gender actually doesn’t matter, Anna, but National Offend a Feminist Week is all about exploring twisty little intellectual mazes to furious effect, let’s see what you have to say.
. . .in an editorial today, the Crimson’s Irene Chen points out that sophomore declarations aren’t the whole story. She writes, Continue reading Question: Why Doesn’t The CompSci Matter In Computer Science? →

National Offend A Feminist Week is the time that we celebrate all things good, lasting, and traditional, at the expense of the occasional harpy. This year’s celebration finds me especially exultant, as I have convinced my wife that my heritage is worth preserving in the human gene pool, in that most pre-historic, patriarchal and pre-Critical Theory sort of way: parenthood.
You can theorize, but you never know until faced with the reality of new life, just how daunting the challenges can be. For example, Nicholas Dietrich Smith (current working name for the lad, Lord willing he be born hale) could be faced with little girls toting guns instead of jump ropes:

For the third consecutive year, we are pleased to inaugurate this annual festival of fun, quoting the immortal words of our charter:
Hey, sweetheart, when I say “bring me a cup of coffee,” I mean bring me fresh coffee, OK?
All bloggers are invited to make their contributions to this weeklong celebration of reactionary traditionalism. This event is an expression of “How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog,” Rule 5D: Feminism sucks.
You can never go wrong in the blogosphere by having a laugh at the expense of feminists. All sane people hate feminism, and no one hates feminism more than smart, successful, independent women who’ve made it on their own without all that idiotic “Sisterhood Is Powerful” groupthink crap
So we caution that this is not about about offending women, but rather it is about offending the idiotic groupthinkers. We offer this example of an image that is guaranteed to offend feminists everywhere. Continue reading National Offend a Feminist Week 2011 →
Yes, it’s true: The third annual celebration begins Monday, May 2, and I’ve begun preparing for the occasion by accumulating vintage images of happy housewives from the Dark Ages of Patriarchal Oppression. Nothing so offends a feminist as the idea that somewhere there might be a woman who considers it an honor and privilege to be “Just a Mom.”
Marriage, motherhood, housekeeping, domesticity — these are the great evils of the Dark Ages of Patriarchal Oppression from which feminists are so proud to have rescued American women.
To be unmarried and childless is the feminist ideal of liberation from male-dominated heterosexist tyranny. Continue reading Is America Ready for the Return of National Offend a Feminist Week? →

This blog would like to send a very heartfelt message to Rachel Maddow, but will require a bit of support to do it.
Seeing what a smashing success Rep. Cantor has been with YouCut, and the admittedly swift propaganda play on Rand Paul, we’d like to take that idea just one consonant further.
The idea is that we can express our opinion of Rachel with the mere insertion of the character ‘n’ into YouCut.
Specificially, the plan involves having Stacy McCain go on her show in some attire that will either offend a feminist, or bring out the best of her neutral, object, well-researched, and reasonable journalistic skills.
Sure, you’ve probably guessed where this is going, but the idea explains itself in a single word: YouCnut.
You’ve understood me correctly: Medieval McCain Meets Maddow.
Can we get a witness?

Matt will now enter into the happy life of a blog-widower!
UPDATE (RSM): Smitty, how could you miss such an excellent chance to celebrate the final day of National Offend a Feminist Week?

This blog is honored to have had National Offend A Feminist Week show up on this famous radar.
We salute Gerard for great taste in beverage assistants and excellent fire control.
Update: WyBlog has the NOAFW badge of honor!
UPDATE (RSM): Allow me to suggest that Mr. Wysocki could use some work on his phraseology:
No, no, sir! Patriarchal oppression in the workplace is far more effective when you employ diminuitive endearments, in the manner of a hard-boiled film noir tough guy. Get yourself into the mindset of Bogey or Mitchum, circa 1947. Nobody’s ever heard of that ugly loudmouth Betty Friedan, and the first “sexual harassment” lawsuit is still a good 30 years in the future.
So you say, “Get me another cup of coffee, sweetheart.”
Naturally, the little lady is grateful for the opportunity to make you happy. The “sweetheart” just shows what a big-hearted softy you really are, underneath all that rugged manliness.
Take notes, fellas. This could be on the final.
