Parents at a Near West Side school say they are “shocked” and “horrified” after viewing a new sex education curriculum intended for fifth-graders, saying the way the information is presented is over the top and not age-appropriate.
During report card pickup Wednesday at Andrew Jackson Language Academy, the school hosted several parent workshops, including an afternoon meeting on Chicago Public Schools’ newest sex ed curriculum. . . .
At one point, parents could view materials intended for students. A binder labeled as the curriculum for students in fifth grade touted the benefits of female condoms for extending sex and increasing pleasure and encouraged using lubrication.
The chairwoman of the Local School Council, Angela Bryant, called the way the information was to be presented to students “appalling” and not age-appropriate. . . .
In a statement Friday afternoon, CPS officials said that the objectional material presented at Jackson was a mistake. . . .
But a slideshow posted on another school’s website, the Waters Elementary School, includes all five of the objectionable slides in a Powerpoint presentation. According to the school’s website, the slideshows contain lessons and handouts presented to students in April 2014. . . .
Under the new sex ed guidelines, 5th grade students are typically taught about contraception, [CPS spokesman Bill] McCaffrey confirmed. The discussion includes use of female condoms, he said. . . .
[S]ome of the information disturbed parents at the meeting, leading one to snap photos of five pages in the binder that included a lesson plan for fifth-graders.
One of the pages, titled “Feel Good Reasons to Use FCs [Female Condoms],” included how to make sexual intercourse last longer and read: “Once you pop, you don’t have to stop!”
The page included a drawing of a woman lifting up a 1950s-style house dress next to a smoking grill and read: “Feel the heat! FCs adjust to your body temperature, so you and your partner can both feel the heat.”
Another page reads: “Got issues? Lube! Lube! Lube!”
Bryant said she was “offended” and horrified” that the “obscene” curriculum was intended for the school’s fifth-grade children, who are typically 10 or 11 years old.
“The curriculum is appalling,” Bryant said. “The language to me was the most offensive part initially. Pop and lube, lube lube, and those kid of things. … [It] serves to rob many of our children of their innocence.”
“The language for me is very much concerning to me as a parent. The content goes beyond what I feel is age-appropriate for a fifth-grader,” said Bryant, who has two children who attend the school, which has 565 students.

What unionized government-certified indoctrination experts do to taxpayers is often quite painful. “Got issues? Lube! Lube! Lube!”

L.A. Schools Argue Girl, 14, Legally Consented to Sex With Teacher, 28

Love and lawyers and “education” in the 21st century:

Los Angeles Unified School District lawyers fighting a civil lawsuit argued in court that a 14-year-old middle school student was mature enough to consent to having sex with her 28-year-old teacher, and that she bore some responsibility for what happened. The district’s attorneys also introduced the girl’s sexual history into the trial as part of their defense strategy. . . .
Last November’s case involved a math teacher at Thomas Edison Middle School in Southeast Los Angeles who in December 2010 began a six-month sexual relationship with a girl who went to the school. The teacher, Elkis Hermida, was convicted of lewd acts against a child and sentenced in July 2011 to three years in state prison.
The girl’s family filed a civil lawsuit against L.A. Unified, claiming the district was negligent and the experience had emotionally damaged the girl, endangering any future romantic relationships she might have.
During the three week civil trial, district lawyers denied that L.A. Unified had any knowledge of the relationship, argued the girl knew what she was doing when she chose to have sex with Hermida and suggested the girl was to blame for her situation, not LAUSD.
“She lied to her mother so she could have sex with her teacher,” said Keith Wyatt, L.A. Unified’s trial attorney in the case, in an interview with KPCC. “She went to a motel in which she engaged in voluntary consensual sex with her teacher. Why shouldn’t she be responsible for that?”

Hard-Boiled And Hard Core

This week was spent reading a lot of naval history – Morison’s The Two-Ocean War, of course, because it’s enormous, and James Hornfischer’s The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, an excellent recounting of the Battle of Samar, in which half a dozen escort carriers with their puny screen of destroyers and destroyer escorts managed to meet and defeat a Japanese battleship task force. Samar doesn’t get much mention among the great battles of the Pacific War, partially because explaining how it came about is terribly embarrassing to the Navy and one of its heroes, Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey, but heroism like this deserves to be remembered, and Hornfischer does an excellent job of telling the tale of Taffy 3 and its desperate struggle in October of 1944. This book won the Morison Prize, and rightly so; Hornfischer is every bit as good a storyteller as Morison, while incorporating the more modern historians’ trope of including the stories of the crewmen who served the guns, armed the planes, and died in the hundreds when the Japanese gunners finally found the range.

I’ve been noticing a trend in science fiction and fantasy lately, where an author writes what seems to be a fantasy at the beginning, but as the story unfolds it turns out that Clarke’s Law is at work, and what you thought was magic is just technology we haven’t mastered yet. This is definitely the case with The International Lord of Hate’s Grimnoir trilogy, which begins with Hard Magic. Correia adds additional goodness by making his hero a stereotypical hard-boiled private eye straight out of Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett, but unlike the classic noir P.I.’s Heavy Jake Sullivan has an additional talent: he’s a Gravity Spiker, one of those rare people who can manipulate the pull and intensity of gravity. When we first meet Jake, he’s being strong-armed into helping the federal Bureau of Investigation, which arranged to have him released from prison in return for helping them chase down and capture other Actives. This time, they want him to take down an old girlfriend, and that’s far from the last thing to go wrong. As usual, Correia does a great job of delivering lots of action along with serious thought about how the world would be changed if 1% of the population acquired magical abilities. I am waiting for a copy of Spellbound to become available through the county library, but in the meantime, since I had a copy of Warbound, I read that too – and all I can say is WOW. The stakes are huge, Jake Sullivan is surrounded by allies of questionable loyalty, and he’s going straight into Shanghai on what looks for all the world like a suicidal attack on the Chairman of the Imperium. He’s got a few tricks up his sleeve, though, to say nothing of friends in low places. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a novel this much since finishing Correia’s Monster Hunter Nemesis, which is saying quite a bit. Not sure if you’ll like the Grimnoir novels? Have a taste with the short story “Detroit Christmas”.

Speaking of hard-boiled, perhaps the most iconic of the hard-boiled detectives isn’t a fictional private eye, it’s Prohibition agent Eliot Ness, played by Robert Stack in the Desilu/Quinn Martin TV series The Untouchables, and later by Kevin Costner in the Brian DePalma movie The Untouchables. Chicago is just the beginning of the Eliot Ness story, though, and Douglas Perry brings you – in true Paul Harvey style – the rest of the story. In Eliot Ness: The Rise and Fall of an American Hero, Perry continues the story through Ness’ brilliant career as Cleveland’s Director of Public Safety, in which he cleaned up an infamously corrupt city police force and broke the local mob – for which he became much better known than his exploits as a T-man working against Capone, since after all (in contrast to the movies) it was the IRS that actually nailed Capone for tax evasion; Ness and his prohibition agents were more of a sideshow and backup operation in case the tax charges couldn’t be made to stick. After Cleveland, though, the story of Eliot Ness is a less happy one, but you can read about that yourself. A good book that does an excellent job of offsetting all the Hollywood hoopla surrounding a genuine hero.

There are several ways a man can deal effectively with feminists:

Ignore them. Deprive them of the attention they seek, and watch them “rage spiral” into a swamp of hysterical self-pity;
Objectify them with the male gaze. This is my favorite method, because it’s so fun. Happily married for 25 years, I’m immune to shame. It’s not as if I’m “hitting on” a radical feminist when I call her “sweetheart” or tell her how much I’ve always been fascinated by butch lesbians. Oh, please, honey, tell me more about how I’m oppressing you with my phallic supremacy.
Stand your ground. Speak truth to feminist power.

Option Three is even more dangerous than Option Two, because feminists consider it “hate” to disagree with them. A guy risks all kinds of repercussions for being branded a “misogynist,” but some guys don’t give a damn. Milo Yiannopoulos writes at Breitbart.com:

GamerGate is remarkable — and attracts the interest of people like me — because it represents perhaps the first time in the last decade or more that a significant incursion has been made in the culture wars against guilt-mongerers, nannies, authoritarians and far-Left agitators.
Industry after industry has toppled over, putting up no more of a fight than, say, France in 1940. Publishing, journalism, TV… all lie supine beneath the crowing, cackling, censorious battle-axes, male and female, of the third-wave feminist and social justice causes.
But not gamers. Lovers of video games, on seeing their colleagues unfairly hounded as misogynists, on watching journalists credulously reporting scandalous sexual assault claims just because a person was perceived to be “right-wing” and on seeing the games they love attacked and their very identities denied and ridiculed, have said: no. This will not stand. . . .
Because hard-core gaming is overwhelmingly male — don’t believe cherry-picked statistics that tell you women now make up 50 per cent of gamers; they don’t, in any meaningful sense — and because those men are often of a stubborn, obsessive, hyper-competitive and systematic bent, it has produced an army finally capable of launching offensives against the censors — using the censors’ own tactics, such as advertiser boycotts, against them.

Have I ever mentioned that, while feminists are usually both crazy and wrong, sometimes the crazy ones — the man-hating radical lesbians — are surprisingly right? Indeed, in 21st-century feminism, it seems the only feminists who are ever really right about anything are “extremists” like Janice Raymond, Sheila Jeffreys, Cathy Brennan and Julie Bindel.

For example, Bindel was one of the first and most vocal feminists to raise the alarm about the Asian rape gangs whose prostitution rings targeted troubled girls from Britain’s white underclass. (See “The Rotherham Horror,” Aug. 27). Meanwhile, radicals like Raymond and Jeffreys have long criticized the trend toward the medicalization and commodification of womanhood, whereby our society treats female reproductive capacity as either a market commodity or a disease in need of treatment. Wealthy gay men buying eggs and hiring surrogate rent-a-wombs to make designer babies? The radicals are dubious. IVF, cloning and other “Frankenbaby” experiments? The radicals are skeptical.

Given a choice between two groups of crazy man-haters, my preference is always for the honest lesbian radicals over the intellectually bankrupt liars of so-called “pro-sex” liberal feminists.

It’s the difference between Nikita Kruschev and Alger Hiss.

OK, so now it is time to meet Kaylee Jakubowski, gender freak:

Kaylee Jakubowski is a Contributing Writer and Online Community Manager for Everyday Feminism. She is a trans, queer feminist who prides herself on being an educator on issues of queerness and gender. She is in her last semester at Winona State University in Minnesota pursuing a B.S. in Statistics with a minor in Women’s & Gender Studies. She is also in the process of writing a book that will formally organize and explain gender philosophies within the trans community.

Which is to say, “she” either (a) has a penis or (b) once had a penis, but it is probably a transphobic microaggression to point this out.

Where do they come from, these trans-weirdos professing their “issues of queerness and gender”? How exactly do the psychiatric woes of the freaky few create a “community” in need of organizers?

If you are a college-educated adult, think back to your undergraduate days. While I was partying my way through Jacksonville (Ala.) State University, Class of 1983, the student body included no small number of drunks, dopeheads and demented degenerates, none of whom were crazier than me. Yet the administration saw no need to incorporate our weird, decadent and/or illegal habits into the curriculum. We could not major in Tequila Studies, “Introduction to Hallucinogenic Mushrooms” and “Principles of Strip Poker” were not listed in the course catalog, and there was no campus Center for Banging Coeds.

Were we oppressed and marginalized by this lack of official recognition?

Oh, hell, no. We were have a blast!

Times change, and not for the better. Visitors to the home page of the Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program at Winona State University are greeted by this impressive vision:

Engaging activism in the classroom is central to Mary Jo’s pedagogy and also fuels her research, which focuses on the relation of queer activism and theory to feminist antimilitarist organizing and anti-imperialist critique. Her research utilizes ethnographic and participatory action methodologies to examine the impacts of neoliberalism on contemporary social movements. Her teaching interests include LGBT/Queer politics and history, transnational feminism, contemporary masculinities, and postfeminist media studies.

Well, I guess the 8,254 undergraduate students at Winona State enjoy learning about the problems of indigenous Ecuadorans, queer activism and anti-imperialist critique, but why Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for this is an interesting question. Somehow I doubt Minnesota taxpayers have any idea what the hell is being taught at Winona State. Do they have a substantial population of Ecuadoran queers? Is there much “feminist antimilitarist organizing” in Winona? The local representative in the Minnesota legislature is Republican Steve Drazkowski, whose family are Catholic farmers. Are his constituents OK with the Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program at Winona State University?

You may click on the image to enlarge it, in which case you’ll notice how this Venn diagram portrays “Individuals who are ‘reproductively viable’,” “who exhibit the secondary sex characteristics typically associated with” male or female and who were “likely to have been classified . . . at birth” as such, as if these normal biological categories of human sexual dimorphism did not encompass the vast majority of people in Winona, Minnesota, or anywhere else. You can verify this with the Intersex Society of North America (ISNA):

“If you ask experts at medical centers how often a child is born so noticeably atypical in terms of genitalia that a specialist in sex differentiation is called in, the number comes out to about 1 in 1500 to 1 in 2000 births.”

Which is to say, between 99.93% and 99.95% of humans are born without any genital defect. It’s possible that among the 8,000 or so students at Winona State, four or five were born with “ambiguous genitalia,” and maybe Kaylee is one of them. Pansexuality 101: It’s More Than ‘Just Another Letter’
For some, the LGBPTTQQIIAA+ acronym (better known in some circles as “Queer alphabet soup”) can be intimidating in its all-inclusivity — “how on Earth am I supposed to not only memorize every identity in this nebula, but learn to respect them in my everyday life as well?”
Well worry not, kind feminist! . . .
So let’s explore one specific identity in this acronym today — pansexuality. . . .
This word “pansexual” was originally coined by Sigmund Freud within his theories on psychoanalysis in the early-to-mid 1900s, but was instead defined as how sexual energy and desire is the basis for all human interaction in life.
However the modern usage of “pansexual” has very little to do with Freud’s definition or his psycho-sexuality theories.
Instead, the modern usage (which I am exclusively referring to in this article) likely started gaining ground in the early-to-mid 1990s.
While it’s hard to pin the exact moment when its use began, it is almost certainly tied to the growing activism and awareness of non-binary and genderqueer people since pansexuality would not exist without these identities. . . .

So the non-binary genderqueer is pansexual. Please continue, Kaylee:

Like with any identity on the rainbow, individuals can (and will—and should!) define the identity in a way that’s more tailored to themselves. While the aforementioned definition is (technically) accurate, some pansexual people have a slightly different way of defining their identity.
For instance, the folks at Pansexuality is Perfect define it as a person who is “not limited or inhibited in sexual choice with regards to gender or activity.”
Other individuals have also described their identity by saying that “they just don’t focus on gender or sex identity, but focus more on the person instead.” . . .
While all of these ways of being pansexual are slightly different, they are all legitimate and they all help define pansexuality as the diverse, all-inclusive sexual identity that it is.
So someone who identifies as pansexual, no matter what their gender or sex is, can potentially be attracted to cis men, intersex men, trans men, agender people, genderqueer people or any other non-binary person, trans women, intersex women, cis women, or any other combination of sex, gender, and gender performance.

The adjectives “weird,” “desperate” and “creepy” could also apply, but there I go with the transphobic microaggressions again.

What Kaylee Jakubowski is actually describing, of course, is the infantile condition of polymorphous perversity:

Polymorphous perversity is a psychoanalytic concept proposing the human ability to gain sexual gratification outside socially normative sexual behaviors. Sigmund Freud used this term to describe the normal sexual disposition of humans from infancy to about age five. . . .
Freud theorized that humans are born with unfocused sexual libidinal drives, deriving sexual pleasure from any part of the body. The objects and modes of sexual satisfaction are multifarious, directed at every object that might provide pleasure. Polymorphous perverse sexuality continues from infancy through about age five . . . Only in subsequent developmental stages do children learn to constrain sexual drives to socially accepted norms, culminating in adult heterosexual behavior . . .
Freud taught that during this stage of undifferentiated impulse for sexual pleasure, incestuous and bisexual urges are normal. Lacking knowledge that certain modes of gratification are forbidden, the polymorphously perverse child seeks sexual gratification wherever it occurs.

Normal psychological development requires that the child learn to behave in accordance with “socially accepted norms,” but what happens when society so completely breaks down that there are no longer any “norms” and everything becomes acceptable?

[Canadian psychologist Hubert] Van Gjiseghem says what he and his colleagues mean by sexual orientation is a person’s inborn and unalterable sexual preference, irrespective of whether that preference is harmful to others or not. Currently, there is no significant longitudinal evidence that pedophiles can be made to not be attracted to children, and thus it can be defined as their orientation. And if pedophilia is a sexual orientation, that also means it’s futile to send pedophiles to prison in an effort to alter their attractions. . . .
Dr. James Cantor is the Head of Research in the Sexual Behaviours Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Canada’s largest mental health and teaching hospital. He’s also an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto’s school of medicine. He’s been working on better understanding pedophiles for about 12 years now using a variety of methods.

Common sense connects the dots: Winona State teaches that we must accept the pansexual genderqueer; meanwhile in Canada, a leading psychiatrist shrugs and says jailing child molesters is “futile.” This is what Matt Barber has called “Sexual Anarchy.”

Polymorphous perversity isn’t merely the New Normal, it’s federal law!

A federal judge [in August 2012] ordered state prison officials to provide a taxpayer-funded sex-reassignment surgery to a transgender inmate serving life in prison for murder.
U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled in the case of Michelle Kosilek, who was born as a man but has received hormone treatments and lives as a woman in an all-male prison. Robert Kosilek was convicted of murder in the killing of his wife in 1990.

Kill your wife, go to prison and demand that taxpayers fund your sex-change surgery. Rape a child, and it’s “futile” to put you in jail. Professors teach weirdos that “the growing activism and awareness of non-binary and genderqueer people” is necessary to obtain social justice on behalf of oppressed victims who can only “be definitely described is by saying that they’re ‘not cisheteronormative.'”

Obviously, I didn’t do enough psilocybin back in the day. If I had, I might be crazy enough to understand why the only people protesting about this “genderqueer” business are radical lesbians.
