The Brutality of Kurt Schlichter

Posted on | May 13, 2014 | 46 Comments

Of course, I mean brutality as a compliment, expressing my admiration of his skillful demolition of a liberal “argument”:

Mock them. Accuse them of adhering to a transphobic cisnormative paradigm and start shrieking “Hate crime!”
Don’t worry about not making sense. They’re college students. They are used to not understanding what people smarter than they are tell them.
Respectful argument should be reserved for those who respect the concept of argument. The sulky sophomores who babble about privilege do not. They only understand power. And we give them power when we give their nonsense the respect we would give a coherent argument.
They deserve only laughter. . . .

Read the whole thing. Somebody ought to teach classes in this kind of rhetoric. And that column should be included in the textbook.

Vote Sodom/Gomorrah 2016!

You can despise Greenwald all you like, but I have the puke-coming-out-my-nose feeling he’s spot-on here:

How do you feel about the early presidential jockeying?
Hillary is banal, corrupted, drained of vibrancy and passion. I mean, she’s been around forever, the Clinton circle. She’s a f_____ hawk and like a neocon, practically. She’s surrounded by all these sleazy money types who are just corrupting everything everywhere. But she’s going to be the first female president, and women in America are going to be completely invested in her candidacy. Opposition to her is going to be depicted as misogynistic, like opposition to Obama has been depicted as racist. It’s going to be this completely symbolic messaging that’s going to overshadow the fact that she’ll do nothing but continue everything in pursuit of her own power. They’ll probably have a gay person after Hillary who’s just going to do the same thing.

I hope this happens so badly, because I think it’ll be so instructive in that regard. It’ll prove the point. Americans love to mock the idea of monarchy, and yet we have our own de facto monarchy. I think what these leaks did is, they demonstrated that there really is this government that just is the kind of permanent government that doesn’t get affected by election choices and that isn’t in any way accountable to any sort of democratic transparency and just creates its own world off on its own.

And. Still. I. Will. Not. Vote. For. Jeb.

Can we emphasize this point enough for the Vichy GOP? No amount of Hillary Angst is going to get votes for the next Dole/McCain/Romney. Especially if non-reformer #4 is Yet Another Bush.

If you want to impress me, Mr. Bush, don’t run. Show that you care about the country, and it’s not about you, by Not Making It About You. Get together with Sarah Palin, tour the country on the Tea Party Express, connect with the people, and support someone else. Get behind the Convention of States in an honest way that will make the Founders smile as they look down from Eternity.

We’ve got 300+ million people in this country. If the only way somebody who is nominally conservative can win a Presidential election is to bear the name ‘Bush’ (as has been the case since 1988) then just screw us to the wall.

I voted Perot in ’92, and I’ll write in the old codger again before I vote for another Bush. Sure, I’m just the one vote, but I’m far from alone. If the Republican party wants to turn the 2016 vote into a suicide pact, Then So Be It.

#NOAFW A Gift to Aspiring Mothers

Posted on | May 11, 2014 | 69 Comments

Excuse the relative paucity of blog output, but I’ve been wrestling for two days with my massive Mother’s Day essay. Today marks the conclusion of sixth annual National Offend a Feminist Week, and I want to do something special. However, the special essay keeps growing longer and longer — it’s very hard to write with penetrating insight — and with the additional problem of a computer glitch or two, it will necessarily be delayed until later this evening.

However, to provide amusement and enlightenment for you while I toil over that 3,000-word monster essay, I’ll share something special for women who are not yet mothers.

How many “safe sex” lectures have young women been forced to endure in the past 20 years? How many TV and magazine ads for condoms and contraceptives have they seen? And how can women who desire motherhood overcome, so to speak, the anti-maternity propaganda that now pervades our culture? After all, young men have also been targeted by the “safe sex” evangelists, and her man may therefore feel an aversion to his necessary masculine role in procreation.

If the journey to reproduction is to arrive (so to speak) at its desired destination, it may be necessary for a young would-be mother to empower herself, exercising her feminine prerogative to speak to him the Nine Sexiest Words a Woman Can Ever Say to a Man:

NZXP TYDTOP XP. T HLYE EZ SLGP JZFC MLMTPD.

Amateur cryptographers are hereby strongly cautioned: Do not — repeat, do NOT — write the uncoded message in the comments, nor on Twitter or on your own blogs. At least not in English. Translations in French, Spanish, Latin, etc., might be amusing.

Hey, did I ever mention that my wife and I have six children?

Rule 5 Sunday: Insert Appropriate Song Title Here

Yep, it’s time once again to consider the merits of Rule 5 – Everybody Loves A Pretty Girl – and as usual, I feel it necessary to remind the Loyal Readers that some of the following links are to NSFW depictions of (at least) half-pretty girls (at most) half-dressed to show it, and that discretion is advised regarding where and when you click on the links.

First Street Journal takes us where the action is, and shows us women with weapons; Blackmailers Don’t Shoot brings us up to date on the adventures of Jennifer Lawrence, especially her relationship with Elvis, and Rotten To The Core chimes in with the “nonpartisan” Eva Longoria  and Shailene Woodley, Bane of the Feminists. Goodstuff goes Hawaiian and also has some hot stuff from the 1920s named Josephine Baker. Ninety Miles From Tyranny offers the Morning Mistress, Naked On The Beach, and Girls With Guns; Animal Magnetism steps it up this week with Leanna Decker, Rule Five Friday, and the Saturday Gingermageddon, while Laughing Conservative contributes Jenna Dewan.

EBL’s herd this week includes Feminist Pin-Ups, Shailene Woodley, Monica Lewinsky, Da Vinci’s Demons, Paula Patton, Dr. Monica Wehby, and more Paula Patton.

GOP’s Angst Correlates To Progressivism

Posted on | May 10, 2014 | 30 Comments

by Smitty

Totally disagree with Dean Clancy at U.S. News:

And no matter how the GOP fares in November — even if it should somehow wipe the floor with the Democrats — President Obama’s veto pen will still be there, waiting to stop any plan they can manage to put on his desk. This will make the fainter-hearted among their ranks skittish about the whole “repeal” project. Why not work with the president to “get something done”? Why not — yes — “fix” Obamacare?

In short, Republicans appear to be damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

The damned thing in play at the moment is Progressivism. I’ve grown up hearing that Social Security and the other entitlements are out of control. And then we have this partisan cramdown of ObamaCare.

ObamaCare has been a river of lies from conception to delivery. Why, then, not simply articulate such to the American people: “You’ve been scammed. Here is the reform plan.”

#OccupyResoluteDesk’s veto pen isn’t a bug: it’s a feature. A potential GOP Congress, sworn in next January, would have two years to hone and refine substantial reform ideas. Republicans could lay out for the American people a comprehensive, frack-this-noise blueprint for the future of the country extending well past a 2016 rejection of Her Majesty, Empress Clinton.

Sure, #OccupyResoluteDesk is ideologically incapable of doing anything useful. I get that. His only real commitment seems to be dishonesty–how do you negotiate or compromise with a man bereft of honor? Don’t bother. If the American people have the truth and an alternative served up, then the energy of 2009 will likely return, and we’ll see a non-Progressive Republican candidate (not Jeb Bush, not John S. McCain) earn a hefty mandate.

Granted, Europe sure looks like it’s on a war trajectory. Obama’s general foreign policy impotence means that a significant portion of the GOP effort is going to have to be about foreign policy. Again, step up to the plate. Dude, I know it was more than two years ago, but the days of “support friends, oppose  foes” really should be considered again for a possible return.

Down the road, the GOP should support the Convention of States and an actual return to limited government. The more Progressive the Republican party the more it deserves to, and will, lose.
