Crazy People Are Dangerous

Posted on | November 8, 2023 | Comments Off on Crazy People Are Dangerous

Well, this is a sad story: Fred “Bubba” Copeland was the mayor of Smiths Station, a town of less than 7,000 people in Lee County, Alabama. He was also a freakazoid, secretly pursuing transgender fantasies that he posted online using a persona he called “Brittini Blaire Summerlin.”

Somehow (the details are not clear to me) information about “Brittini Blaire” got in the hands of an Alabama web site, 1819 News, which published a lengthy story Nov. 1 about Bubba/“Brittini.” Two days later — last Friday — Copeland shot himself to death when deputies showed up at his house to do a “wellness check.” As might be expected, many have criticized 1819 News for “outing” Bubba/“Brittini,” but before you go jumping on that bandwagon of blame, consider this: In his/“her” online persona, Bubba/“Brittini” appears to have harmed real people that he/“she” knew in real life, using their names and photos:

Ansley Summerlin, who alleged Copeland used her identity, told WTVM her name and likeness appeared on multiple porn sites.
“I had some people start sending me photos that were posted of me on multiple porn sites, I guess you could say that also had pictures of ‘Brittini,’ as well,” she said. “And he proceeded to use my first and middle names on these sites. And I believe there are about nine sites now that have five or six photos of my face and my name across the net.”
The second alleged victim, identified as a “local hairstylist in Smiths Station,” also discussed her likeness being used in Copeland’s writings.
“It said my first and last name,” she said. “And it was basically describing the way that I look and intensified, I guess, as a porn star. And it went into very graphic detail. I didn’t get past the first page because I honestly couldn’t stomach it.”

Click here to read an article with further details about the online activities of the late mayor’s transgender persona. It was certainly creepy, and if Bubba/“Brittini” was mostly harmless, that doesn’t mean that the harmful part of his/“her” activity should be ignored.

The left-wing media are trying to bury the sordid details:

Since the late Smiths Station Mayor Fred “Bubba” Copeland killed himself last Friday following reports of his transgender alter ego, left-wing media outlets and public officials have jumped to defend his behavior, often leaving out key details in the process.
On Monday, political commentator for The Daily Wire Matt Walsh called out those blaming conservatives — and 1819 News in particular — for Copeland’s suicide.
“Bubba Copeland was a deeply troubled man. Also, Copeland’s last act was a choice that he made, the wrong choice, but a choice all the same,” Walsh began during the final segment of his Monday show.
He said many in the media were using “carefully crafted euphemisms” to help Copeland avoid any responsibility for his actions that led to him choosing to take his own life. . . .
Walsh continued: “It’s important to underscore that he uploaded all this material voluntarily to the internet while he was serving as mayor, and since everything that a public official uploads to the internet is newsworthy, especially when it’s perverted and depraved, that’s an important fact to highlight.” . . .
“They’re acting like someone hacked his hard drive or [wiretapped] his phone calls when, in fact, what happened was that a website looked at material that Copeland himself had posted publicly for everyone to see,” Walsh said. “But this notion that Copeland was ‘outed’ somehow became the framing of every major news outlet and prominent politician. They’re all pretending like Bubba Copeland was an innocent victim, a paragon of the community.”
He continued: “For years we’ve been told with a straight face to believe a lie that men with this very obvious fetish are in fact women simply by virtue of the fact that they have this fetish. They’ve repeated this lie over and over again with maximum sincerity as if it’s gospel. But lies that are this grandiose and this absurd inevitably break down. They’re not sustainable. One way or another at some point, liars like this must admit the truth, if only by accident, and with the suicide of Bubba Copeland, that’s exactly what’s happened. The trans movement stands for the idea that a woman is someone who wears his wife’s clothes for fun and uploads some photos on Reddit to arouse himself and quote ‘blow off some steam,’ as Copeland said. That’s the extent of the trans ideology’s definition of womanhood.”

Exactly. It may seem cruel to report on the details of what Bubba/“Brittini” did in his/“her” online persona, but to omit those details, or to obscure the reality with euphemisms, is just dishonest.

R.I.P., Bubba/“Brittini.”

Despite Big Night for Virginia Democrats, “HotWifeExperience’ Loses Election

Posted on | November 8, 2023 | 1 Comment

Susanna Gibson claimed to be the victim of “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family” when it was discovered that the Democratic candidate for a Virginia House of Delegates seat had raised money by performing sex acts on livestream internet videos under the handle “HotWifeExperience.” Tuesday’s election was a big night for Virginia Democrats, who maintained control of the state Senate and captured a majority in the House of Delegates.

Unfortunately for “HotWifeExperience” fans, however, Gibson lost the District 57 seat to Republican David Owen by a margin of about 900 votes out of some 34,000 votes cast. So now Gibson can go back to showing her nasty gash to strangers for money, and I will remain in awe of Daily Wire reporter Luke Rosiak, who got paid to watch the “HotWifeExperience” videos. Nice work, if you can get it.

Election Results HQ: The Check Engine Light Is Flashing for ‘Bidenomics’ UPDATE: Dem Reelected Ky. Governor UPDATE: Dems Hold Virginia Senate

Posted on | November 7, 2023 | Comments Off on Election Results HQ: The Check Engine Light Is Flashing for ‘Bidenomics’ UPDATE: Dem Reelected Ky. Governor UPDATE: Dems Hold Virginia Senate

UPDATE 8:50 p.m. ET: The networks just called the Kentucky election. Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear holds off GOP challenger Daniel Cameron.

UPDATE 9:15 p.m. ET: The networks have also called Ohio’s abortion rights referendum, which appears set to pass with about 57%. By the way, I’m watching election coverage on CNN (so you don’t have to) and, oh, they’re just so happy happy happy tonight.

UPDATE 10:05 p.m. ET: It appears Democrats will maintain control of the state Senate and, in fact, Republicans may lose control of the House of Delegates. In Mississippi, GOP Gov. Tate Reeves looks like he’ll defeat Democratic challenger Brandon Presley, second cousin of Elvis.

*** PREVIOUSLY (5:15 p.m. ET) ***

Tonight there will be election results in Kentucky, Virginia, New Jersey, Mississippi, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The most closely watched contest will be the governor’s race in Kentucky, where the Trump-backed Republican challenger, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, had a late poll surge and is now tied with Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear. What could explain this huge change — Cameron has gained 15 points in a matter of weeks, according to the Emerson College poll — in a race that Beshear had been leading by double digits? My first guess would be the Gaza war, which probably doesn’t make a lot of real-world difference to Kentucky voters, but has sowed discord in Democratic Party ranks.

On the other hand, based on past experience, when you see a massive swing in the polls in such a race, the explanation is usually that the surging candidate got a huge boost from a TV ad blitz. A really effective attack ad, run in saturation, can destroy a vulnerable candidate, and my guess is that the GOP waited until October to unleash it’s hardest-hitting attack on Beshear, pouring in a few million dollars worth of ads that have tied the incumbent Democrat to Joe Biden’s disastrous policies.

Democrats have spent the past three days wringing their hands in anguish over the New York Times/Sienna College poll:

“I am concerned,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said in an interview. “I was concerned before these numbers. I am concerned by the inexplicable credibility that Donald Trump seems to have despite all of the indictments, the lies, the incredible wrongdoing.”
New York Times-Siena College polls found Biden trailing Trump in five of the six most competitive battleground states: Trump led Biden by 10 percentage points in Nevada, six in Georgia, five in Arizona and Michigan and four in Pennsylvania. Biden led Trump by two in Wisconsin. In 2020, Biden defeated Trump in all six of those states, though generally by very narrow margins.
Of particular concern to Biden allies are indications that his support among Black voters, who were critical to his victory in 2020, may be softening. . . .

(Hat-tip: Stephen Green at Instapundit.) If black voters expected anything good from Joe Biden, they have been as disappointed as anyone else foolish enough to think “Bidenomics” would work. The basic truth is, good policy is good politics, and however much anyone may have hated Donald Trump personally, his economic policies were far better than Biden’s. So now the check engine light is flashing for Democrats, and they may be planning to rerun the “Torricelli Gambit” for 2024, but in the meantime, there will be election results tonight.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m. ET: Early results from Kentucky:

Daniel Cameron (R) ….. 5,415 (54.6%)
Andy Beshear (D) …….. 4,496 (45.4%)

Polls are still open in Western Kentucky (in the Central time zone) and these numbers represent just 1% of the expected total.

UPDATE 7:25 p.m. ET: Now 27% reporting from Kentucky:

Daniel Cameron (R) ….. 174,054 (43.4%)
Andy Beshear (D) …….. 227,201 (56.6%)

Doesn’t look good right now for Cameron.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m. ET: A ballot measure in Ohio would amend the state constitution to guarantee the legality of abortion:

YES ………. 125,686 (70.6%)
NO ……….. 52,409 (29.4%)

That’s with just 5% of the vote counted.

UPDATE 8 p.m. ET: The situation in Virginia is this: Republicans came into today’s election holding the House of Delegates with a four-seat margin, 52-48, while Democrats held the state Senate by a four-seat margin, 22-18. With Gov. Glenn Youngkin, GOP could consolidate their control by flipping the Senate and holding the House. So far, everything is still too close to call. Now 55% reporting from Kentucky:

Daniel Cameron (R) ….. 375,589 (46.9%)
Andy Beshear (D) …….. 424,213 (53.0%)

The Democrat incumbent maintains a 50,000-vote lead.

UPDATE 8:30 p.m. ET: Now 65% reporting from Kentucky:

Daniel Cameron (R) ….. 457,011 (48.0%)
Andy Beshear (D) …….. 495,398 (52.0%)

Beshear’s lead is now less than 40,000 votes.

With 22% of the vote on the Ohio abortion-rights referendum:

YES ………. 551,815 (63.4%)
NO ……….. 320,788 (36.6%)

UPDATE 8:40 p.m. ET: Remember Susanna “HotWifeExperience” Gibson, the Democratic candidate who got caught selling sexy videos on the Internet? Well, she’s currently leading her Republican opponent by about 150 votes with 66% of the vote counted in House District 57.

‘Kill All You Little Crackers’

Posted on | November 6, 2023 | Comments Off on ‘Kill All You Little Crackers’

“I’d be willing to speculate,” my brother Kirby said, when I mentioned that the Nashville shooter’s “manifesto” had finally been leaked, “that this person’s brain got poisoned during the lockdown. They went down a rabbit hole, and never came back.” And that’s almost certainly correct.

Like me, my brother is a longtime student of criminal behavior — a tendency I attribute to our mother’s love of TV detective shows — and one can imagine Lieutenant Columbo waving his cigar as he’s about to depart his interview with the prime suspect: “Oh, just one more thing . . .”

The lockdown hit in early 2020, but it was not until three years later, in March 2023, that Audrey “Aiden” Hale went on her/“his” murder spree. We know that Audrey/“Aiden” identified as transgender, but what we don’t know is when (or if) she/“he” started getting testosterone injections. How far had she/“he” gone down the “transition” road and what, if anything, did this gender obsession have to do with the attack on The Covenant School (which Hale had previously attended)? What purpose was achieved by murdering three 9-year-old children?

Answer: We don’t know.

Thanks to Steven Crowder, however, we at least know what Audrey/“Aiden” scrawled on three notebook pages:

Louder with Crowder has exclusively obtained three pages of Nashville shooter AudreyHale’s alleged manifesto.
Hale, a transgender 28-year-old man going by the name “Aiden” Hale, entered The Covenant School on March 27, 2023 in Green Hills, Tennessee – killing six, before being shot and killed by responding officers.
The manifesto detailed thoughts Hale had leading up to what was referred to as “DEATH DAY”, as well as a timeline in which the shooting would take place.
Audrey Hale: “Can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’m ready…I hope my victims aren’t.”
Hale: “I hope I have a high death count.”
Hale: “Kill those kids!!!”
Hale: “going to fancy private schools with those fancy khakis + sports backpacks w/ their daddies mustangs + convertibles.”
Hale: “Wanna kill all you little crackers!!! Bunch of little faggots w/ your white privileges”
Hale: “There were several times I could have been caught especially back in the summer of 2021.”

Weird. Considering that Hale was part of the “LGBTQ+ community” (as we’re supposed to call it), why would she/“he” use the slur “faggot” to disparage her/“his” intended victims? And considering that Hale was as white as a mayonnaise-and-Wonder-Bread sandwich, why would she/“he” use the anti-white slur “cracker”? Again, we have no answers to these questions, because the FBI seized the manifesto, and has suppressed whatever information they found in their so-called “investigation” of this incident, leading many (myself certainly included) to deduce that the “investigation” is, in fact, a cover-up.

However, as I said last week (“Carnac the Magnificent Knows the Answer,” Oct. 31), there is one thing we do know:

CRAZY PEOPLE ARE DANGEROUS

You can take that to the bank.

UPDATE: Because Big Tech has become a willing servant of the federal “Deep State,” this was entirely predictable:

Who gave the order to suppress this? DOJ? CIA?

Seems Kind of … Insurrection-y

Posted on | November 5, 2023 | Comments Off on Seems Kind of … Insurrection-y

Some insurrections are more equal than others:

A group of anti-Israel protesters who participated in a large demonstration Saturday in Washington, DC, attempted to storm the White House and chanted slogans such as “Allahu Akbar” while calling for the destruction of Israel in favor of a Palestinian state. . . .
There were reports of protesters desecrating and vandalizing war memorials in the vicinity of the White House as well . . .
Protesters also yelled obscenities about the president, whom they resent for backing Israel’s war effort against Hamas terrorists.

I’m in favor of yelling obscenities about Joe Biden, without regard to the motives of whoever does it, but I’m also in favor of rounding up everybody who yells “Allahu Akbar” and deporting them to Gaza.

FMJRA 2.0: Miracle on East Capitol Street

In the long and mostly inglorious history of the Washington Senators in Pete’s continual draft league, there is no team that has defeated us more often than Dom Carden’s Minnesota Twins, now the Kansas City Royals. So it was with some foreboding that our lads awaited the arrival of the Royals at RFK last week, but when the dust had cleared, Marichal and Coleman had notched their 18th and 12th victories, and Dobson had missed his 12th by *that much*. The Curly W flag continued to wave as the Senators went to the Launching Pad and took two of three from the Braves before returning home for another two wins, this time against Pete’s struggling Brewers. It probably would have been a sweep had I not started Jim Kaat in the third game, having forgotten that Pete’s lineup absolutely destroys left-handers. Still: six out of nine wins this week gets us to within 7.5 games of the A’s, and we have a long break before heading to Anaheim for a series against the Angels.
