Crazy People Are Dangerous

Everybody agrees Portia Odufuwa is dangerously crazy, and yet officials keep releasing her to terrorize others:

Portia Odufuwa, 39, was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the July 25, 2022 shooting at Dallas Love Field Airport.
Dallas County Judge Stephanie Huff issued her judgement Aug. 14, stating Odufuwa didn’t place any officers in imminent danger during the shooting but was insane when she fired several rounds into the air by the Southwest ticketing counter area that day. Police said witnesses heard Odufuwa rambling about marriage, incarceration and blowing up the airport before she began shooting.
Odufuwa was injured during the incident.
Veteran Dallas Police Department Officer Ronald Cronin shot Odufuwa in the legs after she ignored his commands to drop the gun. She survived and was taken to a Parkland hospital for treatment where she underwent surgery for her injuries.
Odufuwa, who has a history of being deemed incompetent to stand trial on prior criminal charges due to mental health issues, was initially charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.
Additionally, the gun she used in the shooting wasn’t registered to her, since she was prohibited from possessing a firearm since 2018. Odufuwa tried twice in 2016 to buy a firearm from a pawn shop, according to Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, but was denied due to an outstanding traffic warrant in New Mexico.
Odufuwa was previously arrested in April 2019 in connection to a Bank of America robbery in Wylie. Police said she gave a note to the teller demanding money, then fled on foot but was eventually caught. Also in 2019, Odufuwa was arrested in connection to arson. A year later, she was taken in for a mental health evaluation, according to police.

So the judge rules that Odufuwa can’t be sent to prison because she was insane when she committed her crimes, but if she is non compos mentis — a Latin phrase meaning “cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs” — shouldn’t she be locked up in a psychiatric ward somewhere? Straitjacket, padded cell, daily Thorazine injections? She has proven herself to be a danger to the community often enough to justify such treatment.

When I asked Thursday if anybody had watched Wednesday’s Trump-less Republican debate, I didn’t realize my blog buddy John Hoge had subjected himself to that ordeal, his account of which concludes with the question: “Is it 2025 yet?” Meanwhile, in the corporte media . . .

The way you can tell that Vivek Ramaswamy did well in the debate is that the media have now begun attacking him, in quite the same way that they’ve been attacking Ron DeSantis for the past several months. Whereas, by the same token, you know Asa Hutchinson has no chance of winning because the media never say anything bad about him.

Does anyone remember 2019? The media spent most of that year acting as unofficial cheerleaders for Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris because — to explain their likely reasoning — Trump’s defeat of Hillary Clinton had aroused the wrath of women (the pink pussy-hat wearing Women’s March) and therefore, it was time for the Democratic Party to nominate another woman. But Kamala ran out of gas before she ever got to the Iowa primary, then Elizabeth Warren flopped badly in New Hampshire and, rather suddenly, the media were faced with the certain-defeat scenario of Democrats nominating Bernie Sanders. Suddenly, James Carville was all over MSNBC and CNN proclaiming that the party MUST rally behind Joe Biden, and that’s what happened. And the media messaging was transparently partisan the whole time.

Ergo, the fact that the media want us to pay attention to a bunch of losers like Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie means . . . ? Yes, exactly: We should ignore those clowns, because the media are our enemy.

The Network That Fired Tucker Carlson™ hosted a debate Wednesday night between Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy and six people who will definitely not get the Republican presidential nomination. Like, why is Asa Hutchinson even doing this? Or, who exactly thinks Chris Christie is going to win anything? And . . . Doug Freaking Burgum?

DeSantis is governor of the best state in the country right now. Ramaswamy at least has the “outsider” businessman thing going for him. The rest of them . . . Well, they’re wasting their time, and because Trump declined to participate, the whole thing was pretty pointless, since he’s 40 points ahead of everybody else. Politico has some “highlights” of the debate, if anybody actually cares, which I don’t think so.

You know it’s bad for Joe Biden when (a) even Washington Post “fact-checkers” admit he’s lying and (b) CNN can’t ignore it anymore:

CNN host Jake Tapper admitted that former President Donald Trump “was right” during the 2020 presidential debates when he accused then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden of accepting large amounts of foreign money.

Now my buddy Matt Margolis at PJMedia is talking about the latest “smoking gun” confirming the quid pro quo of bribes from Burisma being the reason Joe Biden got a Ukraine prosecutor fired. Whenever I see that phrase now, I’m like “smoking gun”? How many more smoking guns do we need? We’ve already a giant pile of smoking guns, all of them covered with Joe Biden’s fingerprints. This is an open-and-shut case.

What Biden did — Joe Biden, not Hunter — was corrupt as hell, and every journalist in Washington knows he’s guilty. They’ve known it all along, but even now, with the evidence piled sky-high in broad daylight, they’re pretending that the story is about Republicans “pouncing” or “seizing,” i.e., their concern that Biden’s corruption could hurt Democrats.

The partisan double-standard in the media is the only thing keeping Biden in the White House at this point. Remember, Nancy Pelosi impeached Trump for making a telephone call asking Ukraine to investigate the Biden-Burisma connection — Trump’s impeachment was a cover-up of Biden’s corruption! Jake Tapper is not too stupid to understand this, which is obvious to anyone with two eyes and a functional brain. And yet, because he’s a partisan hack working for a dishonest network, Tapper has to pretend he doesn’t know it.

That’s Ace of Spades on the “smoking gun” story, but notice the word “disprove.” Everybody already knew Democrats were lying. Joe Biden openly bragged about getting the Ukraine prosecutor fired, and once we knew that Hunter had worked a deal with Burism, it was obvious why Joe intervened to protect Burisma. However, because Joe denied this — and made up a story bout the prosecutor being corrupt — the media played along, because Democrats always get the benefit of the doubt.

THE MEDIA ARE PART OF THE CORRUPTION!

America’s most prestigious journalistic organizations — the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Associated Press, etc. — are so in the tank for Democrats that they didn’t even try to find the truth about Hunter Biden’s dealings in Ukraine, China and elsewhere. It wasn’t any of those big establishment outfits that found the “smoking gun,” it was John Solomon of Just the News, a mere website with a fraction of the news-gathering resources available to the New York Times or NBC News, etc.

Remember how those same media establishment outfits parroted the Biden campaign line that “The Laptop From Hell” was “Russian disinformation”? The media played an active role in the cover-up, and they’re still doing it! So for Jake Tapper to sit there and say, “Hey, you know something? Trump was right about Hunter Biden” just annoys the hell out of me, because JAKE ALWAYS KNEW TRUMP WAS RIGHT.

From the moment the New York Post broke the laptop story, there was never any reason to doubt its authenticity, and the only reason Tapper or anyone else in the media ever pretended otherwise is because they are “Democratic operatives with bylines.” They are fundamentally dishonest, producing partisan propaganda and pretending that it’s objective “news.”

And as for Joe Biden, he is GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!
