John Cornyn’s Gay Leadership Recognized
Posted on | September 23, 2010 | 24 Comments
The senator from Texas is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which has supported such political hermaphrodites as Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist, Lisa Murkowski and Mike Castle.
Unfortunately, Cornyn was so busy Wednesday evening that he was unable to attend the Log Cabin Republican event where he was presented with a leadership award. Pete Sessions of the Dede Scozzafava-backing National Republican Congressional Committee was also honored in absentia.
Tucker Carlson, who had been announced as keynote speaker for the Log Cabin gala, was likewise a no-show, explaining that he had a “scheduling conflict.” IYKWITMAITYD.
CLARIFICATION: We apologize for any confusion resulting from our use of the word “gay” to describe Senator Cornyn’s leadership. Some might have been incorrectly led to believe that we were saying that the senator is homosexual. Of course, Senator Cornyn is a married father of two, and we have no reason to suggest that he is part of Larry Craig’s Wide Stance Caucus.
Rather, what was intended was to say that Cornyn’s NRSC leadership has been “gay,” in the sense young people now use that word to mean ineffectual, hapless or ridiculous — i.e., a complete joke.

Interesting, given our separation of church and State that the State is comfortable asking churches to spread the word, as reported in Politico, via Hot Air.
“Get out there and spread the word,” Obama told leaders from across the religious spectrum on the conference call, organized by the Health and Human Services Center for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships…
Obama instructed faith leaders to treat the new law as settled fact and use their perches of power to convey that message to congregants and friends.
An oddly asymmetric tack. Were the pulpits to come out against the un-Constitutional political colonoscopy, past behavior indicates that, say, those zany Southern Baptists might get something other than the Bible thrown at them, yeah, verily, even as much as the tax code iteslf.

Some think that Woodward’s new book will spell his Waterloo. Others that the PantherGate coverup could be a Little Big Horn moment. I think that the dread of the November election, itself, will devastate the President like the Japanese did the Russians at Tsushima. Yes, it’s an obscure reference, but, if you study the event, you’ll see how like that Russian fleet these Democrats are. So hapless as to border on pitiful, without meriting pity.
October surprise?
Thoughts tantalize.

6 Rules To Fight The Left, Plus Corollary: Do Not Irritate Susannah Fleetwood

You go to blogger gatherings, you meet lots of wonderful conservative blogging ladies. Because they’re conservative, they tend to be easy on the eye, and have a husband in tow, just in case the riff-raff’s restless. No, I was actually thinking of The Lonely Conservative, whom we also do not link enough. Wouldn’t want Mr. Fleetwood to break out the Mac-10.
Susannah Fleetwood, whom I’d not read previously, has a NewsReal post that starts with the Left’s shabby treatment of Christine O’Donnell. Things get interesting (emphasis mine):
. . .I think that one thing is painfully obvious (besides the fact that the Left is composed of a lot of pervs who would rather talk about witchcraft and masturbation than the economy and jobs)–we are playing the game by their rules, not our own. And guess what? This game is rigged against us. Simply put, the rules of this game are to call any woman who challenges Obama and his agenda a “witch”, or say perverted things about her and her family. And, if we complain about these Chicago tactics and don’t take ‘the high road”, then we are “Raaaaacists!!” (that’s five A’s). Well, in the spirit of Bill Maher, I’ve decided that it’s time for us conservatives to make some “New Rules”.
She then lays out six rules with examples that, combined, show just how propaganda driven and intellectually dishonest so much Lefty criticism is. Likely not news to our regular readers, but the packaging here adds substantially to the point.
Of course, I always recommend the milder approach: you can always escalate, but walking it back after allowing the passion to sweep one away is ever a challenge. Caution.
Is Susannah a slightly refined Dan Riehl? Prior to reading this post, I would not have thought such, but now I’m not so sure.

Dan Riehl breaks his vow never to pimp-slap Rick again.
Me? I’m just kind of at a lost for words at Rick’s description of “an identifiable tea party establishment . . . a self identified elite who are more interested in maintaining their position at the top of the tea party ziggurat than in stopping the far left agenda of the Obama administration or in promoting conservative principles in their candidates.”
What in God’s green earth are you talking about, Rick? Look, if it hadn’t been for Christine O’Donnell, Mike Castle would have been uncontested in that GOP primary. And Castle voted for that “far left agenda,” including cap-and-trade, so in what parallel universe can you say that support for Mike Castle was the same as opposing Obama’s agenda?
When Smitty first blogged about Christine here, back in March, nobody gave her a snowball’s chance in hell of winning that primary. She wasn’t even a blip on the national media radar.
When I was shadowing Team O’Donnell in Vegas two months ago, they were begging for a chance to get her interviewed for online podcasts. It wasn’t any “establishment” or “elite” that made this miracle upset happen, Rick. It was a lot of hard work by a bunch of people you’ve never heard of.
Hey, Rick: How about you stop sitting around reading polls and pundits and actually go talk to some of the people involved in this “tea party” stuff you’re writing about? It really isn’t hard. Here’s a video clip I shot last week at the Elks Lodge in Dover:
“We had an army of volunteers who are committed to a cause greater than themselves. . . . The cause is restoring America.”
— Christine O’Donnell, Sept. 14, 2010
Did you see when Christine introduced her volunteer coordinator on stage, Rick? Did that volunteer coordinate look like the “establishment,” part of an “elite”? Did she seem like she was interested in maintaining her position atop a “ziggurat”?
Those cheers you heard on the video came from a room full of hundreds of volunteers who worked hard to make that impossible upset victory happen. Now they’re working just as hard to make an even bigger upset happen on Nov. 2.
And what are you doing, Rick?

See how high she flies!
Brian at Red Dog Report has much more. The big MSM headline from last night’s Hannity appearance was that Christine O’Donnell has decided to stop doing national media interviews. and concentrate instead on winning over Delaware voters.
That’s just common sense, by the way. She’s raised more than $2 million in the week since defeating Mike Castle in the primary, and she has become such a huge national media story that some Delaware voters might think she’s getting too big for her britches. So she now she hires more staff, opens some campaign offices, starts running TV ads, gets ready for debates, and concentrates on reaching voters one-on-one at the retail level.
This isn’t anything sneaky and obscure, it’s just old-fashioned politics. But because she’s got that Sarah Palin endorsement, Christine the Teenage Witch really casts a spell over the addled victims of Palin Derangement Syndrome:
CHRISTINE O’DONNELL for U.S. SENATE
Because Charles Johnson Really Hates Her
UPDATE: Judging from the reaction on Twitter, if Sarah Palin’s theme song is “Barracuda,” we know what tune they’ll play to introduce Christine O’Donnell at her Nov. 2 victory celebration.
UPDATE II: Speaking of magic, a certain Delaware Democrat knows how to make economic growth disappear:
Chris Coons taxed New Castle County to the brink of extinction in just 3 short years as the county executive, raising property taxes for homeowners a total of 58% from the starting price.
Raise taxes and — Poof! — your money’s gone!
Spelling ‘Bite Me’ Is Fun and Easy!

Not since Americans were intoduced to the term “Scozzafava” (a synonym for two-faced backstabber) has any new hipster phrase caught on as quickly as “Murkowski,” meaning selfish bitch.
Earlier this week, Mel Bryant at Conservatives for Palin pointed out that even Lisa the Loser’s own staff can’t remember how to spell her name, as seen in the final shot of this ad for her doomed write-in campaign:
“Make history”? Yeah, Lisa: You’re the biggest sore loser in history. But you should change that slogan:
MURKOWSKI? IT’S EASY TO SPELL: L-O-S-E-R

Insty is fishing.
But BlogProf brings the bait.
WASHINGTON, DC, 2x October, 2010: An unusually wooden President Barack Obama announced his immediate resignation in the Rose Garden today, citing medical concerns.
In a un-presidented move, Joe Biden declined to take the oath, allowing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to step forward as the first female President of the United States. Stock values for underwear manufacturers skyrocketed.
Marxist Media pundits immediately blamed everyone they’d been blaming for the last two years.
Jimmie Carter’s offer to pinch-hit was ignored by all but Harry Reid, who allowed that Jimmie is the hottest member of the ex-Presidents club. A Platonic heat, mind you.
Robert Gibbs, asked if the medical concern had to do with Obama’s head ‘sploding due to the election results, lifted his right index finger, opened his mouth, inhaled, closed his mouth, dropped the finger, and sighed.
‘She’s a Woman Who Just Wanted to Be a TV Star . . .’

For some reason, this story struck me as pathetically sad:
“Food Network ‘chef’ Sandra Lee . . . talks a good game about wanting to help regular moms prepare quick meals so they have more time to spend with their kids, she is herself childless and regularly trots out her nieces and nephews on the show in order to bolster her Susie-homemaker-who-the-kids-just-love-golly-gee reputation. Now that she’s dating New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, she also brings Cuomo’s kids (their mother is his ex-wife Kerry Kennedy) on the program. . . .
“Lee spent years as a trophy wife to KB Home CEO Bruce Karatz and became a millionaire from her first business, Kurtain Kraft. While married to Karatz, Lee began shopping around an interior-decorating show to various networks, all of whom passed. She landed a deal with the Food Network by agreeing to add cooking to the show, but it’s clear to anyone who watches the program that Lee is much more interested in matching her dishes to her food than she is at actually cooking anything, ever. She’s a woman who just wanted to be a TV star, and if pretending to cook was going to be the thing that got her on television, then she was going to pretend to cook her heart out. . . .”
