Your Next Party Will Be a Killer!

Since everybody’s talking graft and payola and scandal, how about a real crime?
KillingTime: Murder Consultants just bought a BlogAd that is now appearing on the site and, when the notice arrived in my e-mail, I recognized the name of one of my Twitter buddies.
There is nothing so honest as pure capitalism.
I’m ‘Sick to My Stomach’ of Pete Sessions Running the NRCC into the Ground
Posted on | August 24, 2010 | 11 Comments
National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions is trying to referee an increasingly bitter Florida 24th District primary, criticizing a new mailer from Florida Republican Craig Miller questioning rival Karen Diebel’s mental fitness as out of bounds.
Dan Riehl’s had the facts on this situation for weeks. It’s not that she’s a bad person but, as I said two months, she seems to be suffering from emotional stress since her husband died in a tragic accident.
It has been clear since last October — when Pete Sessions tried to dodge the blame for the Scozzafava debacle — that the NRCC was suffering from a severe deficit of competent leadership.
FL-24 is a three-way primary and Diebel, allegedly the beneficiary of establishment favoritism, is the weakest candidate in the race. This mess could have been prevented, the fact that it wasn’t prevented is yet further evidence of Pete Sessions’ mismanagement at NRCC.
If the GOP fails to win a House majority Nov. 2, you know who to blame.

How to Do an Awesome Blog Post
Posted on | August 24, 2010 | 22 Comments
Begin with an introductory sentence that ends with a link to your inspiration:
There will always be a fringe, living in its own private madhouse, that will never accept truth regardless of how it is presented.
As night follows day, the link is followed by a blockquote selection from the inspiration. Here, you have several options. You can just end it with some quick snark, or go on an extended rant.
Alternatively, you can try to relate the inspiration to something that’s trending on Memorandum. And what do I see linked here? It’s a headline:
Exclusive: Jimmy Carter headed to
North Korea on rescue mission
Notice that I’ve blockquoted that, in a large boldface font, so it actually looks like a headline. It helps if you include a photo of Jimmy Carter with a sarcastic caption.
One need not know anything about Jimmy Carter or North Korea, or the specific object of Carter’s Pyonyang misson, in order to make snarky comments about this headline. But let’s blockquote the story anyway:
His goal is to bring back Aijalon Mahli Gomes, a 30-year-old man from Boston who was sentenced to 8 years in prison in April, about three months after he was arrested crossing into North Korea via China.
Who in his right mind would try to sneak into North Korea? Aijalon Mahli Gomes is from Boston, so he’s used to living in a communist hellhole. Let the socialist scum rot in prison. But wait — there’s more:
Sen. John Kerry, D-MA, had offered to go to pick up Gomes and has been working on the case for months.
Yeah, it figures: This guy from Boston must be a Democratic voter, and Kerry wants to get him out of North Korea and back home before Nov. 2, so the guy can vote for Barney Frank. This shows Democrats must really be freaking out over the mid-term election, and are afraid that Republican challenger Sean Bielat is gaining momentum.
Let’s make a deal: If this Boston guy gets to come home, the North Koreans keep Jimmy Carter.
And that is how you do an awesome blog post. Please visit Jerry Wilson’s “Goldfish and Clowns” blog. He’s into NASCAR and Christine O’Donnell.

Do I have to stoop to make every dumb joke?

“It’s very simple. If you want our money, you have to espouse our beliefs. I’m not going to part with my dollars so you can direct them to Dede Scozzafava’s campaign in New York. Instead, I’ll drop $20 to a candidate I know needs the money and shares my values.”

I’ve bared my wallet on Twitter:

It’s true. I’m a sellout. I can only hope to achieve a sufficient depth of pathos to get a job offer after the November election blows out half of DC. Then we’ll see who is begging for vanilla pudding money, you pathetic little CRAFT POST LINKERS!!!
Update: Three Beers Later is only slightly less sober in this shocking expose.
Brandi Milloy: Heatwave at the Border (And Xenophobia Never Looked Better)

OK, anybody who ever questioned Roger Simon‘s judgment — his ability to spot top-quality video news talent — start apologizing now. Click the picture to watch, you disgusting sexist swine:
My advice to Roger: Change the name PJTV to “BrandiTV.” Also, please assign Brandi to do a story about the bond-market bubble. I’ve tried to get readers to pay attention to this serious threat to our nation’s economy, but the minute I start talking “bond yields,” people’s eyes glaze over. Ten minutes of Brandi interviewing leading economists? Yeah, they’d pay attention to that.
Also, Roger: Thanks for sending Brandi to interview J.D. Hayworth, a true conservative who’s going to win the Arizona GOP primary against that old bald What’s-His-Name:
J.D. HAYWORTH for U.S. SENATE
Because Brandi Milloy Said So!
