The Left’s New Political Judo Tactic Revealed!

by Smitty

Gateway Pundit reports on the arrest of 25 SEIU demonstrators at a single event, as opposed to 0 people at Tea Party protests which numberd. . .a lot.

One sees that this is all really a double-secret head fake. If SEIU can just lure the Tea Parties into a game of one-upsmanship, then the Tea Parties themselves, striving to out-do SEIU, will magically all get arrested.

Tea Partiers can then all be tossed into big rolling cages drawn by unicorns.  They can be carted through the city streets as an example to all of the decent, non-bitter Klingon population.  All should know that the First Amendment, like the rest of the Constitution, is only to be mentioned when accusing Conservatives of hypocrisy.

What a great plan. I don’t know if there is anything on tap for Memorial Day. Certainly the Tea Party will muster for July 4th pretty much everywhere. Do link and tweet this post so that everyone is on guard. Don’t let those zany SEIU dudes head fake you into singing the Jailhouse Rock:

  • You might not sound as good as Stacy McCain, and
  • When that policeman and public sector union member realizes the degree to which he’s been robbed by the big bosses, he may not be quite the chipper person you’d expect.

Exclusive Video: Andrew Breitbart Responding To Joan Walsh

by Smitty

Previously in this blog, in the “Joan Walsh: The Smoker She Drinks, The Player She Gets” episode, we explored Joan’s ludicrous assertion of earlier, pre-racial epithet video from March 20th at the Capitol Building being used in place of some hypothetical footage that would substantiate the false claims. Walsh:

As a friend notes, “It’s like running video of the Twin Towers on 9/10 to prove 9/11 didn’t happen.”

I caught the retiring, unassuming and altogether mellow Mr. Breitbart just after he had finished electrifying the crowd at the Washington Monument, and queried him concerning Ms. Walsh and Salon:Unofficial money quote transcript:

The point of showing that sequence is to show the tenor of the tea party crowd. They were boisterous. They were upset. And they were saying ‘Kill the bill, kill the bill, kill the bill’. And [the media] impugned the entire Tea Party movement. And that video shows you , as best as one could possibly show, that the narrative constructed falsely by the press, and its aiders and abettors in the shit new media like Salon, is that they wanted to be part of the team that impugned the Tea Party movement and toxified it in perpetuity as racist. And. They. Failed.

Upset? Rather. I was there, sporting my USS Constitution ballcap, albeit not present near the alleged incident:

Follow the link for the full shot with the crowd and Capitol Building in the background. As with the other half a dozen Tea Party events I’ve attended, it was a congenial, patriotic affair, deeply suspicious of the current Congress/Administration sort of affair.

The punchline to Walsh’s beclownment is that, when questioned in an old-school journalistic fashion, the so-called witnesses are walking back their stories.

No Sheeples Thanks The POTUS

by Smitty

. . .in a ‘Say hello to my YouTube bulldozer‘ sort of way:
BHO’s support continues to be lackluster. When the remaining 40+% who are his chief supporters realize he views them more as his corpse constituency than his core constituency, then he will probably set the all-time floor for approval, getting his limbo on under Harry Truman.

This blog is amused at the gagging brought on by the previous imagery, and feels, like the POTUS, that this blog should be thanked. And linked. Profusely. In the name of applied ingratitude.

If You’ve Linked Us The Last Couple Of Days. . .

by Smitty

The Other McCain has been a busy blog out there since about mid-week. Accordingly, I’m way behind on the RSS reading, and make even less guarantee than usual of picking up peoples’ links.

Please flog the inbox with the URLs where you have picked us up.

Furthermore, anyone with a suggested FMJRA backronym for tomorrow is invited to submit that in email or down in the comments.

Our country’s road to recovery shan’t be quick or easy, but the growing energy of the Tea Parties is about the most promising thing going. So keep reading, keep blogging, keep linking, and stay awesome, people!

Sunshine Götterdämmerung: Crist to Announce Independent Senate Bid Today?

Via Hot Air Headlines comes this weird story from Orlando:

Dr. Rick Foglesong is the President of the faculty at Rollins College, one of our political analysts who has time and time again predicted a run by the governor as an Independent. And now, he says he has a source inside the Crist campaign staff.
Dr. Foglesong said, “A person I know in the Charlie Crist campaign has told me Charlie Crist would veto the merit pay bill, and he did. Further, he said he would announce tomorrow, that’s Friday, that he would run as an independent.”
Fox 35’s Tracy Jacim asked, “Where is this supposed to happen?” Dr. Foglesong said, “South Florida.” Jacim asks, “Miami?” Foglesong said, “Yes.” Jacim asks, “How reliable is this source?” Foglesong replied, “I trust the source.”
Fox 35 contacted the Crist campaign staff by email and phone. They would not confirm whether or not the Governor is switching parties. The only thing they would go on the record and say is, “Whatever this story is about him flying to Miami today to announce he is switching parties is completely inaccurate.”

Which is a denial, I suppose. Given that Charlie Crist is such a two-faced liar, however, what is the denial really worth?

The American Spectator: ‘Tea Time Again’. Also, Tee Time For Crist

by Smitty

Stacy is probably about to blow a gasket from the last fortnight’s activities, starting in Searchlight, Nevada, going through the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, the really important stuff like Smittypalooza, and, finally the Tax Day Tea Party. But he did make his midnight deadline for The American Spectator. Here is a taste, but read the whole thing:

Palin headlined a rally Wednesday in Boston, not far from the site of the original 1773 Tea Party, but didn’t make it to D.C., where the mid-day event at Freedom Plaza was followed by an evening rally in front of the Washington Monument that drew a crowd estimated at 25,000.

“I’m really happy with the turnout,” said Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, main sponsor of the later rally.

Thursday’s attendance was a fraction of the massive crowd that attended last year’s September 12 rally in front of the Capitol, but that was a Saturday, not a weekday when millions of Americans were struggling to finish their federal 1040 forms in time for the midnight tax-filing deadline.

“The crowd is energized,” Kibbe said. “I think the message, after [last month’s passage of] ObamaCare, is that [Tea Party activists] aren’t… backing down, they’re not going home. They’re mobilizing and they’re going to make November 2 a referendum on ObamaCare.”

FreedomWorks has been involved with the Tea Party movement from the beginning. Kibbe noted that Mary Rakovich, an activist from Fort Myers, Florida, who had been trained by his organization, helped organize a February 2009 protest against the stimulus bill that was then pending in Congress. Rakovich gathered fewer than a dozen conservatives for that protest at a joint appearance of President Obama and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. But from that tiny demonstration grew a groundswell of activism that has, among other things, pretty much destroyed any possibility that Crist can win the GOP Senate primary, despite backing of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Hot Air linked Politico, on the topic of Charlie Crist:

But with Crist now trailing badly in the polls – and rumors intensifying that he will abandon the GOP primary fight – Cornyn says the governor will face an intense backlash from the Republican establishment if he runs as an independent.

“I would think that would be the end of his political career as a Republican,” Cornyn, chairman of the NRSC, told POLITICO. “So I doubt that will happen. My hope is that this is all resolved in the Republican primary by Florida voters.”

Cornyn said that Crist would be a “man without a party” if he decided to mount a three-way race against Rubio and Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek, who is pursuing his party’s nomination in the state.

“And I think he’s got other potential and aspirations, so I think from that standpoint, it would be a bad decision,” Cornyn said.

The decision would only be bad from the standpoint of Crist. Others might see it as splendid. It would open up more time to work on the golf swing for ol’ Charlie. Or maybe Crist could take up blogging with a fellow Charles.

Everybody Was Tea-Fu Fighting

by Smitty

The total sum of Tea Party attendance today will afford the Left much denial fodder between now and November. Here is just a quick roundup of other Tea Party posts from fellow modern pamphleteers.

  • Carol’s Closet covers Tampa.
  • Pat in Shreveport tells us how it goes, which turns out well.
  • The Lonely Conservative tracks Syracuse.
  • Midnight Blue has a roundup, focusing on Philly.
  • Blond Sagacity is another Philly blogger.
  • American Power brings you SOCAL.
  • One sad note has to do with the TrogloPundit. He took a crowd photo and then offered some cock-and-bull story about having to go through contortions to acquire the photo. This blog has it on good authority (if you believe a commenter named Charles Andrew Johnson-Sullivan) that Troggy is actually kept in a cage in a prison nearby the capitol, and that the scene in question is just his normal view. Who can tell, in these strange times?
  • Free Will brings us San Francisco, which apparently has a few honest-to-Founders Americans remaining. Spot on!

And how about a little Carl Douglas chaser?

Washington Monument Tax Day Tea Party Protest

by Smitty

This is a blast. I heard the figure 25k thrown out for attendance. I’m sure that the libel media will take a cube root or so and report that.

The day was made meeting Lord Monckton here in the tent, enjoying a colonial Subway sandwich. I cut an interview, but there was a great deal of background noise, so I’ll preview that a bit (or if you want to comb my YouTube page, it’s there) before embedding.

Update 19:53 Lord Monckton led a chant of “Global Warming Is B<acon> S<andwich>” so that Barack Obama, who is “hiding behind the drapes in the White House” can hear.

Ray Stevens played, and is a great American.
Eat your heart out, dad. I mentioned to Ray that I’m a huge fan of “The Haircut Song”, because it mentions a logger from Coos Bay, Oregon. Where I was born, back in the day of the square wheel.

Update 20:03 YouTube looks like it’s done cooking Stacy’s crowd pan video of an hour or so ago.

Update 20:14 Another take on Victoria Jackson’s Commie in the White House:

Update 20:18It is crucial that this blog not forget its roots while rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. BigFurHat, the Most Wanted Blogger At CPAC, called up to chew me out about not being on the blogroll. Unlike the POTUS, I understand how to respond to feedback. If we’re remiss in including anyone, please let us know. Following that train of thought, here are some more pics of the real stars of the Tea Party:
