Kathy Griffin + Levi Johnston = ?

While you’re pondering that unappetizing equation, watch this video, which Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters gives an “extreme vulgarity” warning:

“She was so famous as Governor, you know, when John McCain picked her after meeting her for ten minutes. And, um, that must have been some b—j–.”

Speaking of which, Levi Johnston sucks:

Kathy Griffin and her pal Levi Johnston are collaborating on a stage show in Anchorage that takes aim at Sarah Palin, the grandmother of Johnston’s love child.

As a general rule, only gay men hang out with Kathy Griffin. NTTAWWT. But maybe Levi’s just desperate enough to . . .

No, there’s not enough brain bleach in the world to erase that disturbing mental image.

Canadians, Kardashians Blamed for Crackdown on Synagogues in Turkey

This could be a sign of big trouble to come:

A Turkish newspaper reports that police burst into an Istanbul synagogue during recent Sabbath services and demanded worshipers’ ID’s.
The Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported that the Muslim government in Turkey appears to be cracking down on non-Muslim minorities. . . .
Rabbi Yitzchak Haleva, Chief Rabbi of Turkey, says it’s “much ado about nothing.” . . .

(Suggestion to Turkish Jews: Get a new chief rabbi.) The story includes this intriguing addendum:

Turkey recalled its ambassador to the U.S. last week after the House Foreign Relations Committee narrowly approved a resolution recognizing the Turkish slaughter of Armenians during World War I as genocide. The London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabiye editorialized that the “Jewish lobby” in Washington is to blame for the resolution.

Ah, so the Turks get mad at the U.S., and take out their frustrations on Turkish Jews? Let’s go back to last week’s news:

Turkey has recalled its ambassador to the United States on the heels of a vote on a resolution in the House Foreign Affairs Committee declaring the 1915 massacre of millions of Armenians a genocide, previewing the potential problems the measure could create for ties between the U.S. and Turkey.
The Obama administration moved quickly to smooth relations after the committee voted Thursday 23-22 and sent the resolution to the House floor, although it is unclear if the House will ever vote on the measure.
At a press conference Friday while traveling in Guatemala, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reacted, “As I made clear yesterday in Costa Rica the Obama administration strongly opposes the resolution that was passed by only one vote in the House committee and we’ll work very hard to make sure it does not go to the House floor.”

Is the Obama administration pro-genocide? Or just anti-Armenian?

Maybe Hillary Clinton is just jealous of Kim Kardashian’s big fine Armenian booty. That would be understandable.

What’s not understandable is why the “Jewish lobby” gets blamed for this Armenian resolution.

It’s time for the Islamic world to find a new scapegoat. IYKWIMAITYD.

UPDATE: “Jewish lobby” blamed for deadly earthquake in Turkey.

Condoms for 12-Year-Olds?

The inexorable logic of liberalism:

Extra small condoms for boys as young as 12 could soon be on our shelves.
The Hotshot condoms are going on sale in Switzerland after research found that not enough 12 to 14-year-old boys were having protected sex.

Matthew Archbold comments:

We cannot market cigarettes using a camel for fear of influence on children but marketing condoms to kids is just fine?

‘Irrational Anti-Science Lunatics . . .’

‘. . . like Tim Blair.’

Can you guess who said that about Australia’s most popular blogger? Maybe you need some clues:

That last quote was from ex-sycophant Wild Irish Rose, who was responsible for the banning of Zombie. Still no guess? Maybe if I told you he was recently the subject of a Los Angeles Times column and a New York Times profile? OK, well, how about this clue?

So if “irrational anti-science lunatics” like Tim Blair are the biggest threat in Australia, what about Zachariah Matthews?

Elements of Islamic law – the sharia – should be legally recognised in Australia so that Muslims can live according their faith, a prominent Muslim leader says.
Addressing an open day at Lakemba Mosque on Saturday, the president of the Australian Islamic Mission, Zachariah Matthews, said parts of sharia could be recognised as a secondary legal system so that Muslims were not forced to act contrary to their beliefs. ”Sharia law could function as a parallel system in the same way that some traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law was recognised in the Northern Territory,” Dr Matthews told the Herald after the session. . . .
“I don’t think we are so unsophisticated that we cannot consider a multilayered legal system as long as it doesn’t conflict with the existing civil system.”

The “unsophisticated” Robert Spencer at JihadWatch has more. And Tim Blair’s colleague Piers Akerman has a report about the Lakemba Mosque from former Reuters reporter Alison Bevege:

[B]ooks on sale in the basement below the mosque reflected the awful truth about the values broadly supported by those who fully embrace Islam and its holy book, the Koran.
Bevege found most of the books on offer were in Arabic but among those in English were publications which exposed the wide cultural gap that would be legalised under sharia law: Islamic intolerance for homosexuality, for equal rights of women and for individual freedoms.
She quoted from the “The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam” by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, which says: “Because of his natural ability … the man is the head of the house … He is entitled to the obedience and cooperation of his wife, and accordingly it is not permissible for her to rebel against his authority.”
And what happens if she does? . . .
The book then quotes Imam al-Hafiz ibn Hajar who says “To be specific, one may beat only to safeguard Islamic behaviour and if he (the husband) sees deviation only in what she must do or obey in relation to him.”
Bevege, who has worked in North Africa, said despite Dr Matthew’s public support for multiculturalism and diversity, the books in the basement state Muslim women are not allowed to marry non-Muslim men.

Obviously, you’d have to be some kind of white supremacist to believe that the Islamicization of Australia is more dangerous than “irrational anti-science lunatics like Tim Blair,” right?

THE FLEMISH MENACE!

UPDATE: Hey, remember that “libertarian extremist” who went nuts at the Pentagon last week? What’s up with him using Arabic script on his Internet page?

Sandra Bullock: Right-Wing Extremist?

The Oscar-winner for Best Actress is, after all, a Southerner — her father is from Alabama and she attended Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia — and her Academy Award was based on the true story of a football player at Briarcrest Christian Academy in Memphis, who subsequently signed a scholarship at Ole Miss to play for the Rebels.

The South, Christianity, football . . . and I’m sure Sandra Bullock would agree with me: Atavar sucks.

At any rate, Roger Simon celebrates this year’s Oscars as a big victory for conservatism:

With the pro-military “The Hurt Locker” winning over the enviro-pabulum of “Avatar” and Sandra Bullock garnering the Best Actress Oscar for a Christian movie, the times are a-changin’ at least somewhat, maybe even a lot.
But one thing is now certain. It is time for conservative, center-right and libertarian filmmakers to stop feeling sorry for themselves and go out and just do it. Their “victocrat” days are over. No more excuses. “The Hurt Locker” and “The Blind Side” have proven that it can be done. Get out of the closet, guys and gals. If you want to make a film with themes you believe in, quit whining about Industry prejudice and start writing that script and trying to get it made. That’s not an easy thing, no matter what your politics.

Ed Driscoll has more.

Will ObamaCare Lead To Increase Or Decrease For Butt Drugs?

by Smitty (via Ukulele & ATJ via The Agitator)

One one level, the whole notion of ObamaCare could make it the most expensive suppository in human history. On the other hand, the pros from Dover, who couldn’t lead two nuns in one minute of silent prayer, are guaranteed to accidentally wreck any sort of local business. Customer service being unfair and antithetical to bureaucracy, you know.
