Debbie Wasserman-Schultz: ‘You Know Who Likes Killing Babies? Jews Do!’

The headline is not a direct quote, but this is:

“[T]he president has an incredible record of support and advocacy on the issues, domestically, that Jews care about — fighting, for example, to make sure that women have the right to make their own reproductive choices . . .”

OK, so why does the Democratic National Committee chairwoman insist that “reproductive choice” is such an important issue that “Jews care about,” in a way that gentiles do not?

Are there no pro-life Jews? Is there some specific ethnic, religious, or cultural reason why Jews are devoted to keeping abortion legal?

Perhaps someone could ask her a few questions like this, because otherwise people would be compelled to guess that what Debbie Wasserman-Schultz actually meant to say is (a) most Jews vote Democrat, and (b) Democrats are the Party of Abortion.

Any other interpretation could be anti-Semitic, causing people to think that this bloody horror was inflicted upon our nation specifically by Jews.

Not me, of course. I blame the Episcopalians.

UPDATE: I was concerned this post might push the “deliberately provocative headline” thing a bit too far, but I’m reassured by Yuval Levin’s horror at DWS’s claim that abortion is a Jewish value:

Politicians used to insult Jewish voters by implying that all they cared about was Israel. Surely this is much worse.

Meanwhile, in the comments below, an observant Jewish reader points out that, quite logically, the pro-abortion enthusiasm of liberal Jews has had the effect of making conservative Jews the fastest-growing segment of the Jewish population. The same is true among Protestants, I would add. The future belongs to the fertile.

Irony-Impaired Planned Parenthood Hosts Mother’s Day Fundraiser
UPDATE: New York Democrat Offers Another Ironic Suggestion!

Do they lack a sense of irony? Or have no sense of shame?

As families across the nation gather to celebrate Mother’s Day, others will gather to support the abortion industry. Never one to miss a fundraising opportunity, a New York affiliate of Planned Parenthood is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch to support the clinic. . . .
This is not Planned Parenthood’s first attempt to raise money through Mother’s Day. Year after year, the abortion giant encourages supporters to donate on behalf of their mothers. . . .
The organization responsible for the death of over 300,000 children annually has no right to be raising money in honor of mothers. Abortion steals motherhood from women.

Remember this: If you were born after 1973, the Supreme Court of the United States has declared your life utterly worthless, without value, and deserving of no legal protection. That you are even alive to read this is therefore proof that God had some purpose for your life.

Why don’t you think about that? Ask yourself whether you, having miraculously survived despite the hatred of those who viewed your life with such vicious contempt, have a duty — indeed, an obligation of sacred honor — to speak up on behalf of those yet unborn.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
— Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

UPDATE: Democrat death-monger Kirsten Gillibrand wants you to honor Mother’s Day by giving to pro-abortion EMILY’s List. (Hat-tip: Life News and Jill Stanek.) Meanwhile, the author of the article about the Planned Parenthood brunch was excited to learn she’d been linked by Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin’s site.

Kate Beckinsale’s Ghastly Vagina of Death: Another Ex-Starlet Aborts Her Career

Formerly attractive actress Kate Beckinsale, before she
turned her vagina into a political statement.

Maybe you have heard of Kate Beckinsale, an actress who used to be considered attractive. In fact, when she was still young — about 15 years ago — guys who saw her nude scene in Uncovered widely regarded Beckinsale as “hot.” As recently as last week, if you had asked guys to name some reasonably good-looking actresses in their late 30s, Kate Beckinsale might have made the top 10.

Then she killed it.

Her vagina, I mean.

When Smitty took note of the “Funny or Die” video Monday — it wasn’t funny, and therefore, died — I didn’t immediately realize that the producers of that unfunny partisan political ad had actually got a moderately well-known actress involved in their miscalculated election-year slur. Then I read Wyblog and learned the shocking truth.

Judy Greer? Andrea Savage? Never heard of ’em. But Kate Beckinsale? Yeah, that name rang a bell in a “nice rack, pretty face” kind of way.

Why would an attractive, young and reasonably successful actress get herself mixed up in that feminists-mocking-Republicans crap? There is a reason that kind of stunt-politics stuff is monopolized by D-listers and over-the-hill has-beens like Ashley Judd.

If an actress is young and hot, the last thing in the world she wants is to get mixed up in politics. Young hot actresses in Hollywood are cast for roles based entirely on the fact that they are young and hot, and their box-office appeal can only be damaged by taking controversial stands on political issues. The people who buy movie tickets don’t care whether an actress is Republican or Democrat, as long as she’s got a nice rack and a pretty face. As Sam Goldwyn once said, “If you want to send a message, call Western Union.”

Few things are more annoying than a starlet who supposes that she is employed on the basis of her extraordinary talent. Congratulations, darling: You remembered your lines and hit your mark. Let’s just call the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences right now and nominate you for an Oscar in the “Best Rack” category, OK?

What happens with such people, I think, is that they get so used to being catered to and fawned over, they actually start thinking of themselves as superior beings, and imagine that we lesses mortals are actually in need of enlightenment from them.

So when Kate Beckinsale chose to turn her vagina into a political statement, she killed it. And by “it,” I mean her vagina, which by logical extension is ultimately what we refer to when we speak of an actress as having “sex appeal.”

Abortion is about death, Ms. Beckinsale, and by publicly enlisting your vagina on the side of death, you killed it. Christian Toto reminds us:

Beckinsale, who stars in the upcoming “Total Recall” remake, once said she couldn’t believe anyone would actually admit to being a Republican in the first place.

We come to bury Kate Beckinsale’s vagina, not to praise it. After having bared her young tatas in Uncovered, the notorious homewrecker stole another woman’s husband while he was directing her in a forgettable vampire picture nine years ago, when she was still young and reasonably attractive — before she killed her vagina.

So now the remake of Total Recall will star a once-attractive actress with a dead vagina. The critics might not notice, but we will.

UPDATE: Some progressive troll on Twitter decided to complain about “objectification,” which prompted me to respond:

When an actress stars in a POLITICAL AD about ‘MY VAGINA,’ don’t complain about “objectification,” OK?

The title of the Funny or Die video was, after all, “Republicans, Get in My Vagina.” That is to say, Beckinsale and her colleagues thought it would be “cute” to make their vaginas the point of the “joke.” And we can say nothing in reply except polite demurrals?

Nuh-uh. Homey don’t play that.

So Funny, When Feminism Thinks The Unborn Should Die

by Smitty

Funny or Die dives deep into the grave here:

What a creepy, sick, Orwellian world these feminists live in. Remind me again why any mature, masculine male would want to be in the same room as these abattoir-vaginas, much less offering them any essence to destroy? I guess I should say “choose to destroy”.

The sickness of the government-worship implied in this clip is only exceeded by the crypto-incest of talking about their dads and their vaginas at the end, if you can make it that far.

“Ye are the sodium chloride of the Earth,” to paraphrase the Sage. He did not follow up: “And if the chlorine hath lost its mind, and formeth not the good salt of a family with the sodium, then it shall have lost its savor to feminism, and be fit for going under the wheeled conveyance* of history, with the rest of a godless culture.” And why was such an addendum unnecessary? Because a couple thousand years ago, people weren’t post-Modern crack-addled Feminist nitwits, that’s why.

The good news is that these twisted females are unlikely to achieve any reproduction under the sun. Thus, there isn’t much danger of the World’s Youngest Blogger encountering this sort of dementia when he’s old enough to date. I hope these women find sense and these perverted ideas die, die, die.

The ‘Million Ugly Women’ March

OK, I’m lying. There weren’t really a million of them:

On Saturday, a coalition of women’s rights, feminist, labor, progressive and pro-choice groups organized marches in over 50 cities nationwide to protest in favor of President Obama’s health care agenda and against any restriction on abortion rights.
Photojournalist Ringo of Ringo’s Pictures attended the Los Angeles rally . . .

A couple of the more gruesome samples:

These ladies, representing the Party of Socialism and Liberation, seem to believe that their right to abortion is being threatened. Of course, this “right” is merely hypothetical so far as these women are concerned. There isn’t enough Viagra and Cialis on the planet to enable any man to do the deed necessary to impregnate such hideous creatures.

Really? I mean, really? Here’s a hint, sugar: If your political philosophy can be boiled down to “make me a sandwich,” you’re probably not going to be able to parlay that into a governing majority.

Also, you obviously don’t need any more sandwiches.

Five Academy Award-Winning Beauties Who Are Moms (Unlike Ashley Judd)

When people think of factors involved in Hollywood success, motherhood probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

Despite what the embittered rantings of childless pro-abortion fanatic Ashley Judd might lead you to believe, however, many of the world’s most famous actresses have shown that women can have glamour, a successful movie career, critical acclaim and be a mom, too.

5. MARION COTILLARD — The 36-year-old French actress won the Oscar in 2007 for her portrayal of singer Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose. She and her boyfriend, actor/director Guillaume Canet, last year had a son named Marcel.

4. KATE WINSLET — After being nominated three previous times — for Titanic (1997), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and Little Children (2006) — Winslet finally claimed her Best Actress award for The Reader in 2007. She had daughter Mia in 2000, with her first husband, director Jim Threapleton. After her divorce from Threapleton, she married director Sam Mendes, with whom she had son Joe in 2003.

3. JULIA ROBERTS — She was first nominated for her role in 1990’s Pretty Woman, but had to wait another decade to win Best Actress honors as Erin Brockovich in 2000. She and her husband, cameraman Daniel Moder, have three children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, born in 2004, and son Henry born in 2007.

2. REESE WITHERSPOON — Having gained widespread critical acclaim in Election (1999), Witherspoon won the Oscar for her feisty role as June Carter Cash in the 2005 biopic Walk The Line. She had two children — Ava, born in 1999, and Deacon, born in 2003 — with her first husband, actor Ryan Phillippe. Now 36, Witherspoon recently announced that she is expecting another child with her second husband, agent Jim Toth. And now, the No. 1 Academy Award-Winning Beauty Who Is a Mom (Unlike Ashley Judd . . . Continue reading Five Academy Award-Winning Beauties Who Are Moms (Unlike Ashley Judd) →

Ashley Judd Makes Cruel and Tasteless Jokes About Abortion in Political Video

Barren middle-aged actress Ashley Judd in scene from
‘Rick Santorum Aborts Presidential Campaign’ video

When last we heard from bitter, childless, menopausal Ashley Judd, the over-the-hill ex-starlet gave us a feminist lecture about how she was being victimized by the oppressive gossip-blog patriarchy.

Last week, however, Judd joined forces with three more attractive actresses — fellow Hollywood liberals Michelle Trachtenberg, Katy Mixon and Eliza Coupe — in a video mocking Rick Santorum’s decision to end his presidential campaign by comparing it to an abortion:

“Oh, Mr. Santorum, take a seat. I understand you’d like to terminate your candidacy. . . . If you weren’t mature enough to carry your candidacy to term, you shouldn’t have engaged in the risky behavior that began it.”

Jennifer Hartline at Catholic Online is outraged:

The stars of the “choice” universe have gone way beyond their worn-out euphemisms and are now embracing shameless mockery. Ashley Judd and crew have made a video that mocks the act of killing babies in the womb. They mock the violence of stopping the heartbeat of a child. What a hilarious analogy they’ve drawn by comparing an abortion to Rick Santorum’s suspended Presidential campaign, if you’re someone who finds dead babies and wounded mothers hilarious. Apparently they do. . . .
So this is what we’ve come to? This is the present and future of “feminism” in America? Women openly mocking the deaths of their own children; deaths fought long and hard for; deaths campaigned and paid for; deaths celebrated as “freedom” and “rights” for women? I’d say that’s officially the bottom, folks. There’s nowhere lower to sink. That’s as pathetic and wicked as it gets.

It is customary, on certain feminist blogs, to include “trigger warnings” before discussion of topics such as sexual assault that may prompt emotional reactions caused by psychologically traumatic memories. Therefore, in consideration of the millions of women suffering from Post-Abortion Syndrome, I offer a “trigger warning” Continue reading Ashley Judd Makes Cruel and Tasteless Jokes About Abortion in Political Video →

Ironic Payback for Philly Democrat

Pennsylvania State Rep. Babette Josephs

Does the name Babette Josephs ring a bell? You may remember last month Josephs, a Democratic Pennsylvania state legislator from Philadelphia, harshly criticized Republicans, especially GOP women who supported a bill to require ultrasounds before abortions:

Josephs’ remarks came at a political rally sponsored by the Lancaster County Democratic Committee, in which she accused Republicans in control of the state Senate and state House of turning Pennsylvania into a “laboratory for the right-wing. They’re trying all these experiments on us.”
Then, she took specific aim at women lawmakers who co-sponsored the ultrasound bill, asking rhetorically, “I do not understand how a woman in this Legislature can say to herself: ‘I’m not capable of making my own health decisions… but I can get elected and make them for somebody else.’
“What is wrong with these women? What are they thinking about?” Josephs continued. “Are they women? Or are they men with breasts.”

That earned Josephs a lot hostile attention from conservatives: Steven Ertelt at Life News, Tina Korbe at Hot Air, Sister Toldjah, Weasel Zippers, Helen Whalen Cohen at Townhall and Tim Carney at the Washington Examiner. As a 27-year incumbent from a solidly Democratic district, Josephs might have thought she was invincible, and certainly she had no need to worry about “right-wing” Republicans.

Josephs failed to realize that she was vulnerable on her left flank. In yesterday’s Democratic primary, she lost to a challenger, her own former campaign treasurer, Brian Sims. So the Democrat who called pro-life GOP women “men with breasts” was defeated by a man who becomes — can you guess? — “the Commonwealth’s first openly-gay legislator.”
